Description: More and more in modern warfare, carrier battle groups and long-range weapons, launched from arsenal ships or strategic aircraft, are used to dismantle the air defense, infrastructure, and eventually even the national sovereignty of entire states. This essentially means that the sovereignty of a country is only as good as its ability to resist guided weapons attacks – the only guarantor of national sovereignty is a functional air defense system.
In this light, the Serene Power Company would like to offer the world market the Manimekhala short-wave strategic jamming system. This system is capable of efficiently separating carriers from their escorts, launchers from their weapons, and aircraft from their home bases. How does it accomplish this? By jamming short-wave communications, which are used by many of the world's armed forces for both satellite communications and battlefield comms, as well as some long-range radar, not to mention propaganda radio stations.
The Manimekhala is composed of several vehicles, carrying telescopic antenna masts, antenna cables (some of the antenna it uses are in fact in the form of cables stretched between the masts), and a control station, as well as an electronic warfare reconnaissance station. The principle of operation is relatively simple (to what extent anything about electronic warfare is simple): the vehicles deploy, and the crews elevate the masts and set up the antennae (this process takes 72 hours, which is quite a lot in tactical terms – but in strategic terms it is the merest eyeblink). The electronic warfare reconnaissance station then begins listening for enemy communications and radar, and, when enemy ships or aircraft are detected, the station commander orders the operators to begin broadcasting. The effect is truly devastating – jamming communications as far as 5,000 kilometers away, and in some fortunate weather situations even farther off, the Manimekhala can disrupt entire enemy formations, especially those relying on high-throughput digital communications, which require a high-quality connection to function well.
While not in itself a war-winning weapon (those carriers won't sink themselves, you know!), when used in conjunction with a competent air defense force and a competent shore defense organization the Manimekhala can absolutely help you blood the nose of an aggressor – or, perhaps, help you pull off some pre-emptive defensive operations of your own.
