General background: The Serene Power Company's Omamori Electronic Warfare Vehicle is a response to a DREAD development grant to create an operational-range electronic warfare system capable of protecting division headquarters, strategic installations, and other systems from a range of threats, to include remote-controlled UAVs, guided missiles, AWACS, and satellite-based observation platforms.
The result of the development was a system carrying a dual, solid-state phased-array EW broadcast system and a passive antenna, allowing it to serve simultaneously as its own electronic surveillance platform and an active electronic warfare broadcast system. As the system is programmable, it can broadcast in a variety of frequencies, covering a range of bandwidths used by common weapons systems. The broadcast system and reconnaissance antenna are extendable - once the vehicle is in position, the roof slides forward and the panels and antenna can elevate.
Most importantly, it can jam the most common forms of battlefield radar and AWACS systems, the communications systems of NATO-standard aircraft, and the Link-16 communications and TERCOM radar used by cruise missiles. (It can be also used, if one is in possession of the appropriate detailed data, to execute software attacks on those systems, however this is obviously conditional on having said date be available).
Moreover, the system can jam the communications of enemy satellites and their RADAR. However, for this to be effective the Omamori must be parked within a reasonable distance (20-40 km) of the item being protected, that is to say it is has an effective radius in this mode of 20-40 km.
Further, the system cannot cover all of those frequencies at once. We recommend deploying them in groups of two, one tasked to jam radar and the other to jam communications.
Platform: The Omamori comes installed on a Hammond Motors Mammoth tactical truck, however it can be installed on a platform of the user's choice. No discount is afforded for users preferring their own platforms due to the obvious logistics problems this causes for the manufacturer.
The Mammoth truck is equipped for this purpose with radiation shielding for the driver's cabin and operator's compartment in the rear of the truck. Both compartments are air-conditioned and NBC-protected. The operator's compartment has partial protection from small arms fire, though to a lesser extent than the driver's cabin extent. A synthetic aramid wrapping is provided for the equipment compartment to protect from shrapnel and onboard fires.
THE OMAMORI IS NOT, REPEAT NOT, A TACTICAL VEHICLE. IT IS NOT INTENDED FOR FRONT LINE USE. THE SERENE POWER COMPANY IS NOT LIABLE FOR COMBAT DAMAGE TO THE OMAMORI AND ALL OF ITS PARTS.
PLEASE FOLLOW THE SAFETY SECTION OF THE USER MANUAL AT ALL TIMES TO AVOID INJURY.

Tactical recommendations for use of the Omamori
1. The Omamori works best when deployed in teams of at least two vehicles.
2. While the Omamori comes with its own electronic surveillance capability, we recommend deploying separate electronic surveillance vehicles alongside it. Consider using battlefield cable communications to relay tactical information to the vehicle.
3. Opponents will likely attempt to target the Omamori with HARM missiles. We recommend purchasing solid-state HARM decoys from a reputable supplier to reduce the risk to the platform.
4. Use of the Omamori does not void the commander's responsibility to organize and deploy tactical, operational, and strategic echelon air defense at all levels, including to protect the Omamori itself.
Domestic Production Rights: The Domestic Production Rights for the Omamori cost 5 billion New Dornalian Dollars, and do not include the Mammoth tactical truck, as that is not produced by the Serene Power Company. (Read more about the truck here.
For every purchase of DPR, the Serene Power Company will expend 1 billion dollars for charitable work, infrastructure reconstruction and environmental recovery in the Serene Republic of the High Treefolk..
