What even is CRT? I still haven't gotten a concrete definition from even the people who support it besides "racism is everywhere."

According to the UCLA School of Public Affairs:[9]
CRT recognizes that racism is engrained in the fabric and system of the American society. The individual racist need not exist to note that institutional racism is pervasive in the dominant culture. This is the analytical lens that CRT uses in examining existing power structures. CRT identifies that these power structures are based on white privilege and white supremacy, which perpetuates the marginalization of people of color.
Legal scholar Roy L. Brooks has defined CRT as "a collection of critical stances against the existing legal order from a race-based point of view," adding that:[10]
[I]t focuses on the various ways in which the received tradition in law adversely affects people of color not as individuals but as a group. Thus, CRT attempts to analyze law and legal traditions through the history, contemporary experiences, and racial sensibilities of racial minorities in this country. The question always lurking in the background of CRT is this: What would the legal landscape look like today if people of color were the decision-makers?
Oh the humanity..

So systemic racism? And that exists even when POC are the decision makers.

I like how he says "the occasional flat earther" as if, 1) this movement didn't gain millions upon millions of eyes and 2) they all didn't shift to QAnon, which has mainstream support.
QAnon being so mainstream itself proves that the right wing in this country has completely lost the plot which trumps whatever one may think infests the minds of leftists these days.

The funny thing is you have a notable element of leftists who follow flat-earth idiocy too.

Where, though. All of the ones I'm aware of with sizeable audiences are in it for the Christian doomsday cult part of it, and it overlaps heavily with right-wing American elements as a result.

They (the Christian doomsday cultist loons) are a majority of this... idea, yes. But various bloggers and “shut in” types who are more left leaning follow this too. Idiocies aren’t limited to “political directions” even is certain directions hold a majority.

You said "notable" and yet you have failed to provide anyone of note or proof of a significant following from non-right-wing circles.

I was once caught in a nightclub by some Africans who were pointing out that even the idea of the father at the head of the table, kids down the side, mother coming in with some dish she's cooked - you can imagine in your head as a family scene - is not African. It's not many cultures, but it's the accepted norm and to fit into society you adopt this nuclear family approach.
When you're white you simply don't see what you do as an accepted norm that applies to everyone, you don't see it from any other point of view than your own. You don't know what it's like to be perturbed to be in an elevator with a white female because of the colour of your skin. Or perhaps you're walking down the street worried that someone might shout out 'go home you chink' just because you're Asian.. or that you might be shot because you're sitting in a car and any wrong move will lead to your death.

congratulations on being a totally woke super objective centrist who recognizes that both sides are equally bad and if it seems like you're spending a lot more time talking about the Far Left radical communist genderqueer threat in the most derisive terms you appear capable of marshalling it must be an ideologically biased socialist white-guilt-riddled reader trying to paint you as anything but firmly grounded in the objective truth of our equally weighted ideological reality

I believe you are most certainly correct. I hope that both sides find the courage and wisdom to reject their crazy sections, rather than clinging to them out of fear of losing elections without their support as happens nowadays.

Not sure if this was posted already but the Republican candidate for senate in Delaware Lauren Witzke is not only a Qanon supporter but a flat earth believer. The state gop has gone from holding the reins of power to almost total irrelevancy in just over a decade.
She called the incumbent Chris Coons a “Christian-hating baby-killer,” adding, “I’m coming for your seat, Satanist.”
Witzke is going absolutely nowhere in DE. Especially with Biden at the top of the ticket. But that being said, DE was indeed a long standing purple state from 1889 - 2001. Not anymore.Gravlen wrote:It's a completely meaningless metric, but since it's an incredibly important metric for Trump, your post makes me happy.
The Greater Ohio Valley wrote:I doubt the amount of Cuban voters alone voting for Trump would be enough to automatically swing the whole state in his favor.
Really, but whatever floats his boat... ya know?

I mean, I'm a big ol' lefty and so I'd likely describe my opposition's crazies with more vigour than those on 'my side' of the political spectrum. Doesn't mean they're not correct that both sides have a disturbingly growing element of nutjobs in them.

Delaware Republicans nominated Christine O'Donnell, the GOP witch, as a US Senate candidate in 2010.
She was just plain crazy, not this 2020 variety which I'd categorize as PSYCHO.
