The following thread will take you to the history and progress of Hispinas as a sporting nation through a series of roleplay posts which may consist of stories narrated from various points of view, a news article, or a abbreviated summary of various competitions undertaken by the Hispinos and Hispinas. Anyone not authorized to post aside from moderators doing their line of work will have moderator action requested to address these.

The current Monarch regime headed by King Marco Juan XXII has recently denounced the sporting history of Hispania y Filipinas, the direct predecessor of the the nation, thus severing the lineage the two nations may have. This is important as this nation should be treated as a new one, and this nation will not inherit any sporting ranks the previous nation have.

King Marco Juan XXII, in his castle at the capital of Mandrid (previously known as Maniladrid) have appointed a group of individuals to undertake possible sporting ventures at football, basketball. and volleyball. The overall head of the venture is Manolito Padron Baro, or Manolito Padron for short. Initial tasks handed by Manolito to three subleads for each sport is to assemble a team of individuals to partake in several sporting tournaments such as the World Cup, the International Basketball Championships, the Copa Rushmori, and the next edition of World Volleyball Expo. He is also assigned to institutionalize the professionalism of these sports as Hispinas still doesn't have organized sporting leagues compared to other nations in the region, after taking the territory that was previously held by the chieftains and datus of Alitaba.

Below are the subleads/advisors assigned by Manolito:
  • Football - Iago Escobar Ferreiro, 50, from Punta de Cebuenas (fka Barcebulona), ex-professional footballer played somewhere in Gergary
  • Basketball - Walter Picaso Laganson, 65, from Mandrid, previous head coach of the Hispania y Filipinas national basketball team
  • Volleyball - Lioria Baradillo Sierra, 51, from Vigano, volleyball trainer for the Royal Guards
In addition, Jose Manuel Varadi Gracia, 64, a close friend of the king and a multi-billionare CEO of beautification products, is tasked to explore a possibility to bring motorsports to Hispinas and is in charge of rehabilitation of various circuits in the nation.

The succeeding posts tell the stories of how the national team is formed, their performance over time, and the progress of the nation in the coming years.

LA LIGA HISPINAS

Overview
A soon to be launched league as part of the professionalism of sports in Hispinas. Before the establishment of the league, the 12 provinces of Hispinas took part on a tournament to decide the best football province in the nation. With the teams having their players limited to their birth province, it showed which provinces had a stronghold of domination in domestic football. That will set to change as either government oficials, fans among the provinces operating cooperatives, or wealthy millionaries establishing and using their resources to grow their football clubs.

List of Clubs

In year 2201 and 2202, the task force led by Manolito Padron tried to organize the league in preparation to sending the representatives to international club competitions, but nothing materialized due to several right of way issues and there were only four clubs applied for professionalism in 2202. In 2203 however, the sixth club, Errege Iparekialdeko, joined the league in exchange of allowing them to permanently field players from Haranbehera in the Iparbasko's neighboring province, Ekialdekobasko'.

The founding six clubs
  1. Atletikoa Haranurdina (based in Vallezul, Basko da Gama)
  2. Royal Mandrid (based in Mandrid)
  3. FC Cebuenas (based in Cebuenas, Catarungia)
  4. Azucena CF (based in Lirio, Azucena)
  5. Gimnastic Vigano (based in Vigano, Magdalena)
  6. Errege Iparekialdeko (based in Seviguio, Iparbasko)
The pilot season is expected to bring football to the nearby provinces and Padron hopes that more clubs will join the league in the future.

COPA DE LA REINO

The Copa de la Reino (lit. King's Cup), is Hispinas' national cup, where multiple clubs can register and compete in a single knockout matches to determine the national cup champion. The winner of the tournament usually enters IFCF's Cup Winners' Cup, but it would have to be registered professionally by the FRHF for it to compete internationally, which means that only the six La Liga Hispinas clubs and individual provincial FAs can only represent Hispinas in international competitions at the moment.

LIGA HISPINAS BALONCESTO
Season 2203

Overview

The 2203 Liga Hispinas Baloncesto is the first season of the league. Eight founding teams will play a double round robin regular season where six teams would qualify for the playoffs. The top two will advance to the semifinals while the third to sixth placed teams will participate in the first round where a best-of-three series is played, with the higher seed given home court advantage. The semifinals and finals will be played in a best-of-five series with the higher seed playing the first two games at home and will have home court advantage as well.

The Winners of the Playoffs will qualify as Hispinas 1 in the IUBC, with the regular season winner taking Hispinas 2 and the losing team in the playoff final taking Hispinas 3. If the regular season winner wins the playoff final as well, the runners-up of the playoffs will take Hispinas 2 and the next highest team in the regular season will take Hispinas 3. If the regular season winner loses the playoff final, the spot for Hispinas 3 will be given to the next highest team in the regular season not yet qualified.

Teams competing in the IUBC will participate with sponsorless team names. For example, Itzal Haranurdina BdG Saskibaloia should they qualify for IUBC, will participate as Haranurdina BdG Saskibaloia.

Playoffs Summary
The teams from Cebuenas and Vigano quickly dispatched their opponents, although Vigano needed an overtime to put the challenge from Lirio to bed. Haranurdina BdG faced Vigano in the best of five semifinals and looked dominant, beating their opponents by 22 points in front of their home fans, although a close game saw the top seed struggle to close out the game and it was decided in the closing minutes of the game. The team sponsored by Flor Blanca would win for the first time against Itzal's team although they needed overtime, however they were not able to push them to a Game 5 running away with the game in the second half. The other half of the semifinal was a different story though as Royal Mandrid swept FC Cebuenas Baloncesto in three games, with the first game decided by a buzzer beater.

The team from Vallezul though were not able to use their home advantage in the finals, as they were soundly beaten in the first two games. They would fail to win a single game against Mandrid whether it be in the regular season or the playoffs, and the Aerohispinas sponsored/owned team wins the LHB playoffs as well as Hispinas' first spot in the IUBC competition. Haranurdina BdG would be the second listed team for the competition, while FC Cebuenas would round out the qualifiers with the third best record in the regular season.

LA LIGA HISPINAS
Season 2203 Preview

Overview
The 2203 La Liga Hispinas is the inaugural season of Hispinas' first professional football league, La Liga Hispinas. Six clubs have successfully applied to be the founding members of the league, with the number set to increase the following season, as two clubs have confirmed to participate next season pending completion of their licensing requirements for professionalism of their clubs. The organizers of the league have unanimously agreed with the clubs to have a single home-and-away format without any playoffs to determine the champions.

As only six clubs will participate in the first season of the LLH, only three spots will be allotted to the league for IFCF competitions. The fourth spot, IFCF CC #3, will go to the champions of the Copa de la Reino, or the runners-up in lieu of the winners if they are already qualified via league placing. The spot will become vacant if both finalists finish inside the top half of the table. The winners of the league will qualify for the IFCF Champions' League as IFCF CL as well as the Rushmore Copa de Campeones spot, and the second and third placers will get the first two spots for the Challengers' Cup, IFCF CC #1 and IFCF CC #2 respectively. The champions of the Copa de la Reino will also qualify for the IFCF Cup Winners' Cup.

The Clubs

Royal Mandrid
Colors: White and Orange
Nickname: Los Caballeros (Cavaliers)
Stadium (capacity): Estadio Metropolitano de Mandrid (47,854)
Chairman: Octavio Corpus Don, 65, Male, native of Mandrid
Manager: Matios Bejerano Lazo, 41, Male, native of Ciudad de Cebuenas
Captain: Chequil Puma Bonito, 27, Male, native of Mandrid

One of the oldest sports clubs in Hispinas which encompasses football, basketball, and volleyball, Los Caballeros was among the first clubs to apply for entry in the La Liga Hispinas. Rumored to be favored by the King of Hispinas, and being one of currently only two clubs to be allowed to be designated as Royal club (The other being Errege Iparekialdeko), Matios Bejerano's players will try to convince the masses that they deserve to win the title and will not use the influence of the king to force the people to support the club.

National team mainstays Elpidio Campoy, captain Chequil Puma, Maite de la Pena, and Peppi Palmero are the key players of the team, but Chicho Mondragon and Chara Grullon have made it into the final squad of the national team for the Copa Rushmori after a disappointing performance in the recent World Cup qualifiers, increasing the Mandrid representation in the national team perspective.

Captain: Casimiro Coro Velasco, 25, Male, native of Felipamerigo

Eternal rivals of Royal Mandrid, FC Cebuenas is one of the best clubs in Hispinas in terms of football ability, as the city is considered to be the football hotbed in the country. Football experts have pointed to Miguel Gaytan's squad to be the inaugural champions of the league with Mandrid and Haranurdina challenging them for the title.

Despite the quality of the Cebuenas players, a player raised in Felipamerigo is currently carrying the captain's armband. Casimiro Coro. Even if a team from Felipamerigo enters the league, he has declared his loyalty to FCC until his retirement as he owes the club a lot for giving him a football career and eventually making it to the national team. Trinidad Quevedo, Guilla Ledezma, Carmelita Grimaldo, and the current #1 for Hispinas, Natalio Londono also plays for the team.

Atletikoa Haranurdina
Colors: Light Blue and White
Nickname: Atleti, Urdina eta Zuria (Blue and White)
Stadium (capacity): Athletic Estadioa (51,554)
Chairman: Unai Goldaracena Luiaondo, 60, Male, native of Vallezul
Manager: Zuzen Bayarres Beraza, 45, Male, native of Vallezul
Captain: Igon Murguiondo Ubiña, 33, Male, native of Vallezul

Atletikoa is the very first football club founded in Hispinas, and the staff and players are all Basko heritage. The club has a Basko-only policy where they will only sign players from Basko da Gama, Iparbasko, and Ekialdekobasko provinces, although the board chaired by Unai Goldaracena has stated that they will also accept international players with full Basque heritage in the squad once the embargo on signing foreign players and players from other provinces is lifted in third season.

Ozeano Amunategui, the most famous forward in Hispinas, is the centerpiece of the squad, with Fermin Maquibar and Gorka Uralde also in the squad. Captain Igon Murguiondo is a recent call-up in the national team as well as Auza Vertiz. The club is considered as bitter rivals by Errege Iparekialdeko, however they does not reciprocate the rivalry in any way and only consider Royal Mandrid as their rivals.

Azucena CF
Colors: Blue and White
Nickname: Azucenas (Lillies)
Stadium (capacity): Estadio Municipal de Lirio (35,221)
Chairman: Bienvenido Hermida Costilla, 64, Male, native of Lirio
Manager: Perico De Noia Pelaez, 48, Male, native of Lirio
Captain: Cordovan Chia Hierro, 34, Male, native of Lirio

Officially the fourth club to join the La Liga Hispinas was the one based in the southeast province of Communitat Azucena, where the Lirio-based club could sign players from Murosur in nearby San Guadalupe province. Martia Fontana will be manning the sticks as their primary goalkeeper, with Ugolino Oleastro getting more experience with probably starting in their cup matches. The squad is lacking national-team caliber names, but with veteran national team captain Cordovan Chia on their squad, the team will look to be anchored by him to compete in the league, especially when your forward then makes it to the Copa Rushmori squad, which was the case with Everardo Esquilin.

Manager Perico De Noia does not have any significant rivals in the league, probably aside from another neighboring province which is Catarungia's FC Cebuenas. The club takes the blue color based on the flag of Azucena where it is the background color of the lilies in the provincial flag of Communitat Azucena.

Errege Iparekialdeko
Colors: Black and White
Nickname: Izotz Katuak (Ice Cats), Mendizaleak (Mountaineers)
Stadium (capacity): San Jose Estadioa (44,565)
Chairman: Zumar Arribalzaga Usategui, 57, Male, native of Seviguio
Manager: Itsaso Ilarduya Baskaran, 48, Female, native of Seviguio
Captain: Gurutze Aranaz Azcarate, 27, Female, native of Haranbehera

With a Basko club already in the LLH fold, another one was needed to be established as the first club prioritized players from Vallezul due to a stupid ruling from the task force that clubs must only field players raised in their respective city for the first two seasons of the league. Businessmen from various locations in Seviguio, Iparbasko and Haranbehera, Ekialdekobasko, have combined their resources to establish the club, where it is expected to be based in Seviguio, but will plan to enhance infrastructure in Haranbehera to have matches there during the season. It has been confirmed that one of their five home matches (against Gimnastic Vigano) will be held in the 18,000 capacity Estadi Haranbehera.

The current #2 goalkeeper of the nation, Errasti Ochoa de Olza, and Gurutze Aranaz are the stars of the team, and while Barkarna Anchia announced her international retirement after the poor World Cup qualifying campaign from Hispinas, she looks to continue playing for the next two seasons including this one.

Gimnastic Vigano
Colors: Red and Black
Nickname: Gimnastic, Los Rojonegros (Red and black)
Stadium (capacity): Estadio Provincial de Magdalena (30,000)
Chairman: Ramira Ronda Orrantia, 55, Female, native of Vigano
Manager: Eduin Palacios Tejada, 39, Male, native of Vigano
Captain: Geralda Uriarte Moralez, 24, Female, native of Mascardo

The sixth and final founding member of the LLH, Gimnastic Vigano was founded by the government of Vigano, and as a club from Malklan is not yet in the FFH as well as from Mascardo's Dinamo Mascardo, the club decided to loan the players from those provinces to complete the squad. It would take time for the players to gel together as they have been fierce rivals on the times Hispino football was not yet professionalized. As such, expectations are low for this team to move forward.

Despite this, current captain and national team player Gerarda Uriarte has expressed her intention to remain in the club despite Dinamo Mascardo confirming their entry to the LLH next season. Mainstays in the national team, Perez Pardo, Florita Carrion, and Manuelita Trigueros who was part of the Under-18 World Cup winning squad, will headline the squad despite being from different hometowns.

LA LIGA HISPINAS
COPA DE LA REINO

Season 2203 - Part 1

The inaugural match of the La Liga Hispinas was a big match between Royal Mandrid and FC Cebuenas in an almost full capacity Bag-ong Natad, proving the anticipation football fans had about the long standing rivalry between the two perceived to be the strongest clubs of Hispinas. The match turned quickly into a feisty affair, with several players getting booked, Chara Grullon getting sent off for a second yellow card, and a Sabas Almendras goal breaking the visiting fans' hearts with Cebue getting all two points. Meanwhile at Vallezul, Atletikoa Haranurdina needed a late goal to deny the Lilies all three points when Gentzane Uriondo jumped the highest to meet the ball from a corner three minutes before added time in the second half. On Sunday's sole match, Gimnastic Vigano began their campaign with a 0-3 loss over Errege Iparekialdeko with goals from Baskaran, Aranaz, and Anchia.

In the next weekend's matches, the King's Cup took centerstage due to the lack of matchdays made by having only six teams in the LLH. Errege got the better of the Basko derby between them and Atletikoa, however, Gergori Bollar would be disappointed he let a goal late in the match when Beltran scored a header from the corner. Their Haranbehera contingent representing the football association of Ekialdekobasko got the better of their neighbors, Mesetasur, winning 2-1 with a second half goal settling matters in the match. Group B saw the Royal Guards get smashed by the backup squad of Royal Mandrid, with Hernan Chacon scoring a double in the second half, while their FA continued Eduin Palacios' misery as Vigano are still searching for answers, and also their first win in the new season.

Group C shows two future LLH clubs in Dinamo Mascardo and Malklan CF, however they did not have the best of starts as they failed to get all three points against their parent FAs, Transnistria beating Dinamo, and Calanorte being able to get a dramatic equalizer in the last kick of the game to deny Malklan of all three points. There were not so much drama at Group D as Cebuenas and Azucena both scored wins over San Felipe and San Guadalupe respectively.

HISPINAS VOLEIBOL LIGA
Season 2204

Overview

The 2204 Hispinas Voleibol Liga (HVL) is the inaugural season of the league. Eight founding teams will play a quadruple round robin regular season where six teams would qualify for the playoffs. The top two will advance to the semifinals while the third to sixth placed teams will participate in the first round where a best-of-three series is played, with the higher seed given home court advantage. The semifinals and finals will be played in a best-of-five series with the higher seed playing the first two games at home and will have home court advantage as well.

The Winners of the Playoffs will qualify as Hispinas 1 in the Volleyball Champions League (VCL), with the regular season winner taking Hispinas 2. If the regular season winner wins the playoff final as well, the runners-up of the playoffs will take Hispinas 2.

Teams competing in the VCL will participate with sponsorless team names. For example, Itzal Haranurdina BdG Boleibola should they qualify for VCL, will participate as Haranurdina BdG Boleibola.

Playoffs Summary
Itzal Vallezul survived an early scare from their Basko rivals in the form of Txerrikotxoa Seviguio as they managed to win 2-1, with a turnaround in the fourth set of Game 2 facing elimination, with Game 3 not even a contest between the two. Meanwhile Aerohispinas Mandrid managed to beat Abejalegre Lirio to face the top seed in the semifinals. Itzal Vallezul gave Telebuenas Cebuenas no room as the former swept the series and faced the regular season champions after a 3-1 season win.

It looked like a sweep for Flor Blanca Vigano in their first two games in their backyard, but once the series went to Vallezul, Itzal made work of the Vigano club, eventually tying the series 2-2. Although, the fifth deciding game was anticlimactic, as despite Itzal winning the first set, Flor Blanca stumped their opponents in the next three sets to win the series, and the first HVL title.

The 2204 Liga Hispinas Baloncesto is the second season of the league. Aerohispinas Royal Mandrid are the defending champions, having won the inaugural season after sweeping Itzal Haranurdina BdG Saskibaloia in the LHB finals.

Eight teams will play a double round robin regular season where six teams would qualify for the playoffs.

It was a tight competition between five teams with two games between them at the final matchday of the regular season, and the bottom three on identical 3-10 records. Royal Mandrid knew that losing the game against Malklan with a six point differential between them and Mendihegalean meant that the club from Seviguio would overtake them in the standings should they dispatch their Basko rivals Haranurdina BdG. The capital team also relies on them beating them with a big margin while they dispatch Malklan to secure the first IUBC spot over their fierce rivals.

Meanwhile, while Malklan CB's playoff hopes in their hands by virtue of a better points differential between them, Dinamo Mascardo, and Lirio Basket, they could not afford to lose the game themselves, as Dinamo Mascardo face an already qualified Vigano Baloncesto, likewise Lirio Basket facing FC Cebuenas. Despite having secured a playoff berth themselves, the two teams can still contend for a top 4 place and a home court advantage in the first round of the playoffs.

FC Cebuenas dispatched Lirio Basket by 20 points, eliminating them from contention, while Malklan failed to beat Royal Mandrid. A loss for Dinamo Malklan would secure playoffs for the team in Calanorte, but the Nuevo Transnistria team managed to sneak into the playoffs themselves costing Vigano Baloncesto a home court advantage. Finally, Mendihegalean got the better of Haranurdina as the two Saskibaloia's faced in Seviguio, despite this, the club from Basko da Gama maintained their top spot and thus secured a spot in the IUBC competition.

Playoffs Summary
Unlike the inaugural season, the losing teams from all the series did not manage to win a single game, as all five series resulted to sweeps. For the first two phases, there were no surprises whatsoever as the higher seeds progressed to the succeeding rounds. And it was a repeat of last year where Royal Mandrid swept the LHB finals winning all three games against Haranurdina BdG Saskibaloia, winning their second LHB title in as many seasons.

For IUBC competition, Royal Mandrid once again takes Hispinas 1, while Haranurdina BdG Saskibaloia takes Hispinas 2 based on the results of the LHB playoffs. The third and final spot went to Mendihegalean Saskibaloia for placing third in the regular season.

LA LIGA HISPINAS
Season 2204 Preview

FC Cebuenas

Nickname: Cebue, Berdekahel, Verdenaranja (Green and Yellow)
Stadium (capacity): Bag-ong Natad (74,665)
Chairman: Samuelito Barranco Valdespino, 55, Male, native of Ciudad de Cebuenas
Manager: Miguel Gaytan Pita, 45, Male, native of Ciudad de Cebuenas

Note: As I do not have the luxury of time to do a detailed league RP, will post a summary of the league, and will update/retcon specific match reports and scorers after the IFCF cutoff.

LA LIGA HISPINAS
COPA DE LA REINO

Season 2204 - Summary

The events before the start of the season

  • FC Cebuenas is the defending champion for this season, having won their first title last season comfortably. However in the offseason, they lost one of their most talismanic players, Casimiro Coro, to Tikariot's Eivora Athletic, which meant that a greenhorn Paco Rosado had to step up to replace him at the starting lineup for Cebue. Coro's departure was the first international transfer Hispinas was involved in, however, the league had reminded clubs not to purchase any foreigners until the three-season moratorium on foreign players ends, although they can accept any offer from international clubs for their players.
  • Two clubs join the league at the start of this season, Malklan CF from the northern shores of Calanorte, and Dinamo Mascardo, from the Rusko-dominant Nuevo Transnistria. The joining of the clubs proved to be a challenging task, as several incumbent players hailing from Mascardo and Malklan who were playing for Gimnastic Vigano, particularly those who are playing for the national team, refused to leave the club. This resulted to a weakened lineup for the new clubs. The moratorium on the restriction of player transfers will end at the conclusion of next season aligned with the entry of Hispinas clubs to the international transfer market.
  • Four clubs participated in their first international competitions:
FC Cebuenas: As the double champions of the La Liga Hispinas and the Copa de la Reino, the club from Catarungia qualified for three competitions, in the IFCF Champions League, they were eliminated in the first qualifying round by Eastburg United from Whirl Islands, 2-3 on aggregate. They made a run in the IFCF Challengers Cup, eliminating Mercedini's Elspachia, adding insult to their rivals Royal Mandrid who were eliminated by the same club in the previous round, and surprised everyone when they eliminated Turoki Tide from the competition, winning 5-4 on aggregate. It would end in the Playoff round as they lost to Letson Town of Ethane despite winning the second leg. In the Cup Winners' Cup, they were able to defeat Wirr Tsi of Chromatika before bowing out in the second round against Royal Westpike of Brenecia. They were humbled however by Swennic side Yelichville Union in the preliminary round of the Copa de Campeones.

Royal Mandrid: Runners-up in the league meant that they were the highest placed Hispino club in the IFCF Challengers' Cup, however, in the first preliminary round, they were eliminated by Mercedinian club Elspachia, although the matches both ended in draws, the 3-3 result at Estadio Metropolitano in Mandrid meant that their opponents would take the tie in away goals rule. To make matters worse, their eternal rivals made quick work of their conquerors in the second preliminary round.

Atletikoa Haranurdina: Vallezul's Basko-centric club placed third in the league last season, and started the IFCF Challengers' Cup in the extra preliminary round where they were shellacked 6-0 by 1896 Ebor from Mytanija in the second leg after a goalless draw in Athletic Estadioa.

Gimnastic Vigano: Despite losing all their matches in and finishing dead last the previous season, the Magdalena club qualified to the IFCF Challengers' Cup in lieu of the Copa de la Reino champions, when they lost the final to FC Cebuenas. Same with Atleti, they started in the extra preliminary round, although performed better than the Blue and White, were eliminated as well by Fujai's Solbakken IL, losing both matches.
  • All the clubs in the La Liga Hispinas retained their managers, even Vigano's Eduin Palacios despite not winning any league match last season.

La Liga Hispinas

By halfway point of the season, The Big 3 clubs - Royal Mandrid, FC Cebuenas, and Atletikoa Haranurdina were neck and neck in the standings, with Azucena CF joining the party courtesy of a spirited performance from Cordovan Chia. Gimnastic Vigano scored their first ever points in the La Liga Hispinas with a draw on the first matchday, and was above Errege Iparekialdeko in the standings. The two new clubs, Dinamo Mascardo and Malklan CF were yet to find their first ever win in the league, with two draws and are propping up the table by halfway point.

Atletikoa Haranurdina slipped up against Royal Mandrid on Matchday 8, but FC Cebuenas failed to capitalize when they were held to a draw against Errege Iparekialdeko, and Malklan managed to grab their first ever win against Azucena CF. The capital club then shared the spoils with Cebue, which enabled the Blue and White to snatch the lead in the league table thanks to a 6-2 shellacking of Dinamo Mascardo away. It was three points between the three contenders at this point of the season.

3 Royal Mandrid 9 5 2 2 13 11 +2 17

Royal Mandrid started to slip away from title contention, when they were given a beating in their travel to Lirio against Azucena CF, 5-1, while their rivals won their respective matches. With three matches to go, all four clubs still had mathematical chances of winning the title despite the Lillies failing to win their match away in Mascardo.

It was on Matchday 12 where the direction of the title race was decided, when the leaders faced each other at the Bag-ong Natad, the match was heading to a goalless stalemate which would benefit the Cavaliers who took care of their own match. However in the 89th minute, national team striker Ozeano Amunategui headed the ball past Natalio Londono, giving Atleti a 1-0 win and open up a four point gap between the top two, effectively ending Mandrid's and Azucena's hopes for the title. Azucena would have played spoiler for the Vallezul club the next matchday, holding them to a 2-2 draw, but it was the new club from Malklan who gave a bigger spoiler, defeating the mighty Green-Orange and effectively handing over the title to Atletikoa Haranurdina.

The club from Basko da Gama won their first La Liga Hispinas title, with Royal Mandrid overtaking FC Cebuenas at the last matchday thanks to another spoiler from Azucena CF. The three clubs occupied the IFCF spots, while Errege Iparekialdeko, the other Royal club, managed to qualify for the Vilitan Cove Invitational (VCI) via a fifth place finish.

Despite missing out of the league title, FC Cebuenas made amends in the King's Cup final when Trinidad Quevedo struck the ball past Krabelin Goyeneche in the 76th minute after Perlita Chapa and Munio Sola gave both teams a goal each in the first half, exacting revenge to the recently crowned league champions and denying them the double. Cebue so far have won the last two Cups, and will face each other again in the Hispinas Escudo Comunitario which first edition will be held next season.

There were disappointments all around for Gimnastic Vigano who finished dead last in Group B, costing Eduin Palacios his job by end of the season, and for Royal Mandrid for losing anew to Atletikoa Haranurdina in the quarterfinals.

HISPINAS VOLEIBOL LIGA
Season 2205

Overview

The 2205 Hispinas Voleibol Liga (HVL) is the second season of the league from its inception in 2204. Vigano Voleibol, playing as Flor Blanca Vigano Voleibol for sponsorship reasons, are the defending champions having won both regular season and the playoffs.

Eight teams will play a quadruple round robin regular season where six teams would qualify for the playoffs.

List of Clubs
  • Itzal Haranurdina BdG Boleibola (based in Vallezul, Basko da Gama)
  • Aerohispinas Royal Mandrid (based in Mandrid)
  • Telebuenas FC Cebuenas Voleibol (based in Cebuenas, Catarungia)
  • Abejalegre Lirio Voleibol (based in Lirio, Azucena)
  • Flor Blanca Vigano Voleibol(based in Vigano, Magdalena)

  • ATM Malklan CV (based in Punta de Malklan, Calanorte)
  • Uverennost Dinamo Mascardo (based in Mascardo, Transnistria)
Regular Season

As of Matchday 7
Vigano managed to start the season with a 5-0 slate and was ahead of the rest of the pack by then, but consecutive losses to Cebuenas and Lirio put the champions down the pecking order to third by the first quarter of the regular season. Any of the five teams including Vallezul who occupy the last semifinal spot as of writing, and Mandrid who occupy fifth could take the top 2. Meanwhile, Seviguio has been struggling mightily, with only one win in their name, and Malklan being ahead of them by one game. Mascardo prop up the bottom of the standings, yet to win, and only winning four sets so far this season.

As of Matchday 14
Vallezul managed to edge ahead of Cebuenas atop the league table by the halfway point, however it is a very tight at the top four as the teams at the top half of the table are within three games of each other, Vigano and Lirio occupy third and fourth respectively, and Mandrid has started to lose ground to the top four with Seviguio managing to pull off three wins to creep closer to the capital team. Malklan did not manage to win any games in the second quarter, and have extended their losing streak to nine games, only barely keeping ahead of Mascardo which remained bottom by the virtue of fewer points won.

As of Matchday 21
The standings took tumbling as the weeks went by as Vallezul managed to remain atop the table, now with three hungry teams chasing them, the four teams secured a spot in the playoffs as current seventh placed team from Mascardo can no longer overtake them, and Mandrid may soon follow with six games between them. The four teams at the top of the perch are only two games between each other, and anything can still happen. It would be one of Seviguio, Mascardo, and Malklan which will take the final playoff spot, with Malklan very near the teams above them, only one game behind.

FInal Standings
Vallezul went unfazed and threw a 7-0 record to all the opposing teams, to secure themselves a spot in the VCL and advance directly to the semifinals. Vigano must now reach the final at least if they want to retain their VCL spot, but Cebuenas and Lirio, who finished within two games of them, are threatening to put the defending champions off their perch, and do not count out Mandrid either. Fortunately for them, they also advance directly to the semis, avoiding a potential bloodbath in the first round. There were also an anti-climactic ending at the other end of the table as Seviguio managed to pull ahead of both Malklan and Mascardo and secure the final spot with a couple of matchdays to play.

Playoffs Summary
Cebuenas dispatched Seviguio in quick succession, 2-0 to advance against Vigano in the next round, it was another slugfest however for Lirio and Mandrid, this time the club from Azucena managing to win the series over the capital team, and advance to face Vallezul in the semifinals. It was a carbon copy of last season in the semis, with Vallezul sweeping the series against Lirio, and Vigano managing to escape Cebuenas with a 3-1 series win to confirm their spot in the VCL.

However, the finals rematch between the two were full of boring three set victories for the winning team, with Vigano smashing Vallezul, 25-9 in the third set of Game 4, to win their second consecutive HVL title.

LIGA HISPINAS BALONCESTO
Season 2205

Overview

The 2205 Liga Hispinas Baloncesto is the third season of the league. Aerohispinas Royal Mandrid are the defending champions, having won the 2204 season after sweeping Itzal Haranurdina BdG Saskibaloia in the LHB finals, winning their second LHB title in two seasons.

Eight teams will play a double round robin regular season where six teams would qualify for the playoffs.

Unlike last season where there were around five teams were competing for the upper bracket spots, it seems that only three of them would be in contention with five matchdays remaining. Vallezul, Mandrid, and Cebuenas are one game off each other as they are three games ahead of the rest of the pack. The Basko da Gama club is the one being dominant, having lost only once and started the regular season with a 7-0 record. Vallezul then dealt a big blow to Mandrid's hopes of topping the table in Matchday 11 with a 12 point win, while Cebuenas' loss to Seviguio costed them a chance to keep tabs on the leaders. It would come back to haunt them as Mandrid managed to beat them in Matchday 12, and the capital club managed to secure the remaining semifinal spot thanks to Vallezul beating them in Matchday 13. Vallezul finish top despite an embarrasing home defeat to Malklan and qualify for the IUBC.

Playoffs Summary
Unlike last season, the semifinals and finals series did not result to sweeps, however, both of the first round series ended that way. For the first two phases, there were no surprises whatsoever as the higher seeds progressed to the succeeding rounds. Vallezul managed to take their revenge against Mandrid in the LHB final to win the series, 3-1, and win their first ever LHB title. It was a costly loss by Cebuenas in the regular season as due to them losing the points differential to Seviguio, they failed to qualify anew for the IUBC.

For IUBC competition, Haranurdina BdG Saskibaloia takes Hispinas 1, while Royal Mandrid takes Hispinas 2 based on the results of the regular season, as the Vallezul club took both regular season and the playoff titles. The third and final spot went to Mendihegalean Saskibaloia for placing third in the regular season.

LA LIGA HISPINAS
COPA DE LA REINO

Season 2205 - Summary

The events before the start of the season, and International competitions

  • Atletikoa Haranurdina is the defending champion for this season, having won their first title last season. This will be the last season of the moratorium to restrict Hispino clubs from acquiring foreign players, in which afterwards, they can participate in the upcoming IFCF transfer window.
  • Four clubs participated in the 7th cycle of IFCF competitions and other international competitions:
Atletikoa Haranurdina: Vallezul's Basko-centric club won their first domestic league title last season, and started the IFCF Champions' League in the first preliminary round, unfortunately they were eliminated in that competition by another Mytanar club, this time, Atletik, losing both legs 1-3 and 0-1 at home and away respectively. They were inserted into the Challengers' Cup against Valladar club Metropolis Aligators, where a goalless draw at Athletic Estadioa gave the Vallezul club some hope, but a 1-0 defeat at Valladares ensured the club's elimination from IFCF competitions. As domestic champions, they got to participate in the Rushmori Copa de Campeones, where they beat Victoriaville South End of Cassadaigua in both legs of the preliminary round, before bowing out of the competition after a 3-1 second leg defeat to Graintfjall's Steinaux, after the first leg at Vallezul ended in a goalless draw.

Royal Mandrid: Being the league's bridesmaids for the second season running meant that they were the highest placed Hispino club in the IFCF Challengers' Cup. Unlike last season where they bombed out in the first preliminary round, would advance to the next phase after two convincing wins against Everfree Forest HC, although another Equestrian club ended Hispinas' hopes of any club making it to the group stages of the IFCF, with Whitetail HC narrowly beating them in the second leg with a solitary goal in Mandrid after the first leg ended in a 1-1 draw.

FC Cebuenas: A disappointing campaign saw them fail to defend their title last season, and finish below Royal Mandrid in the league table. However, they managed to defend the King's Cup, this time against an Atletikoa Haranurdina side trying to be the second club to achieve a league and cup double. This meant that Cebue had access to the Challengers' Cup, and the Cup Winners' Cup, where they were eliminated in their first matches by Tumbra's Serrapince FC and Omerica's United Philibiscostal respectively. Both ties had their first leg having a 3-0 away loss, the reverse fixtures for the two had different outcomes but the same end result.

Azucena CF: The club from Lirio were able to make their international debut in the extra preliminary round of the Challengers' Cup, where they managed to hold on against Ivasiocastle United of Boring Paradise after winning the first leg 2-1. In the first preliminary round however, they met their end in the hands of Rekan club Ogroven Vanguardi FK, with an aggregate score of 3-5.

Errege Iparekialdeko: Another club making their international debut, the fifth placed club managed to qualify for the Vilitan Cove Invitational after missing out of the IFCF spots, advancing to the Round of 16 after defeating UR Town of Eastfield Lodge. They exited the competition though after losing to Pasargan club Hellenic Rouge.
