Says who? Just because there were militias there doesn't mean there wasn't already enough people.

Fairly hypocritical take to worry about crossing state lines/being in a different town when people from out of state/city came to riot and loot and burn.
Odd that you basically ignored most of what I said and focused on the most inconsequential part.

Rittenhouse had already shot someone, and a bystander, who did not have the benefit of reading about the situation online the next night, tried to stop him from shooting anyone else. Where's the villainy?Loben III wrote:

Tragic indeed that this child was out armed in the street and not at home.Ors Might wrote:Defend attempted assaulters from their would be victim, you mean.
From what I've heard after police shootings, these kinds of decisions, to intervene and endanger oneself or to retreat, are made in fractions of a second, and thus rather a lot of leeway must be given.

Whomever told you that doesn’t know what in the heck they’re talking about. Making a decision to protect yourself is entirely different than to actively engage and attack someone. Besides, melee assaults are cringe compared to dakka defense.

The age of open/concealed carry in Wisconsin is 18.
He was likely committing a felony the whole time, so much for "self defense"

So the kid might walk despite illegally carrying the gun he killed two people with.
Well I don't really agree with the felony murder concept anyway. I didn't want him charged with murder, but fucking hell there should be some law to effectively prevent minors taking a gun to a public place. That's an act that's very likely to lead to bad consequences for someone.
US states could tighten up gun laws a lot, just with proper penalties for prohibited persons, without infringing any further on the rights of those legally permitted to have a gun.
