THE PEOPLE'S FEDERATION OF YUEZHOU - NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM
月州人民联邦 - 国际足球队

Manager: Yuan Zilai
Assistant Manager: Chen Huikang
Nickname: The Red Dragons
Formation: 5-3-2
Style Modifier: -1.5
Stadium: Yincheng National Workers' Stadium, Yincheng (cap. 42,500)
First-Choice Lineup
Tactics: While Yuan Zilai would like to play a more defensive style, he has recognized that Yuezhou is not strong enough aerially or defending long balls to do so. Instead, he has opted to emphasize an aggressive midfield press. Yuezhou will aim to heavily cover the center of the field and force their opponents to the wings, while using the cover of their back five to aggressively try to win the ball back. With the ball, Yuezhou play a fast-paced, counterattacking style, aiming to rapidly pass the ball up the field and fluidly exploit spaces with constant running and one-touch passes.

National Context: Yuezhou is in a moment of great geopolitical tension. The Yincheng-based central government has come under conflict with the richer southeastern provinces of Jiangdong and especially Nanhai, whose provincial government has hinted at a possible secession if they don't receive more autonomy. Additionally, the mountainous region of Sangau has long struggled for autonomous zone status at least, and independence at most, and Yincheng has found itself at odds with regional separatist groups as well. Even the Red Dragons have become politicized, with many vocally anti-government voices being left off of the WCQ roster altogether - only Wen Xiaohui could be considered anti-Yincheng, and only due to her association with former SNM fighter and Yuezhou midfielder Wen Xiaoli, her uncle.

GOALKEEPERS
#01 - RUO Xiaolan (f) - 34 - Cypher Town (NPH)

Ruo Xiaolan is a very athletic goalkeeper - as well as, after helping Cypher Town secure promotion to Nephara's top flight, the first female player on the national team. She’s a high-flying shot-stopper who, despite some rawness, came into her own as a keeper in the Nepharim Premiership - the first professional league she played in. At thirty-three years old, she’s lost some of her athleticism, but compensates for this with her experience and better feel for goalkeeping, especially on set pieces, where she has upgraded from “terrible” to “below-average”.

#12 - WANG Bo - 25 - Dynamo Dalian
#23 - LU Qiang - 28 - SC Jiangdong

Wang Bo is a polished shot-stopper with strong leadership abilities who was rewarded for his efforts with a Golden Gloves award. Lu Qiang is more modern, better at playing the ball from the back, but undoubtedly worse at actually stopping the ball from going into the net.

DEFENDERS
#02 - KANG Enlai - 24 - Dynamo Dalian
#03 - REN Fang - 27 - FC Shanbei
#05 - HAN Jian - 29 - Yincheng Capitals
#06 - GUO Xiawei - 24 - Tanques AOE (KOR)
#13 - QIU Geming - 31 - Beian City

The Red Dragons’ defensive strengths come more from their organization, discipline, and hard work rather than any special talents. Guo Xiawei, the only member of the back five to sign abroad, has the most potential for his skill on the ball and flashes of brilliance. However, he’s also the outlier in an undisciplined, cautious defense, and tends to make silly mistakes on defense. Ren Fang and Han Jian are strong, aerially adept, and athletic enough to get by, although both tend to just hoof it whenever they win the ball. Kang Enlai is the more ambitious of the two fullbacks and will provide width on the left flank, while Qiu Geming is more cautious and often drifts inwards when Guo and Kang push up.

#14 - LIN Wangming - 35 - Beian City
#15 - ZHU Aiguo - 23 - Yincheng Capitals
#16 - ZHUANG Chonglin - 32 - Beian Athletic
#17 - WU Jing - 35 - Canterlot Stars (EQS)

Lin Wangming and Wu Jing are veteran full-backs who previously started for the Red Dragons, but Lin Wangming’s attacking nature hasn’t caught up to the fact that he’s not quick enough to reliably get back any more, and Wu Jing is cautious to a fault. Zhuang Chonglin will often spell Guo Xiawei when the Red Dragons need to protect a lead, while Zhu Aiguo is an aggressive change of pace that will help win the ball back and push forward at the cost of defensive stability.

MIDFIELDERS
#07 - YANG Tao - 24 - Yincheng Capitals
#08 - GU Zhalei (C) - 30 - Archbishop FC (NOV)
#11 - CHEN Xiwei - 27 - Beiyun Stars

Gu Zhalei is an energetic presser, an accurate (if not very creative) passer, and the heart of the Red Dragons’ tactical setup. Flanking him, Yang and Chen are equally energetic, but not nearly as technically skilled. They’re mostly there to press aggressively, win the ball back, and kick the opponents to stop counterattacks.

#18 - WEN Xiaohui (f) - 20 - Interdimensional Misei (HIN)
#19 - LI Jing - 24 - SC Jiangdong
#24 - GAO Renling - 32 - Sporting New Arch (XAN)

Wen Xiaohui, the niece of controversial star midfielder Wen Xiaoli, could be Yuezhou’s next big thing, but although her pace and playmaking make her a future star, she’s incredibly raw and not a great tactical fit. Gao’s biggest strength is his motor, followed closely by his field vision, and he’ll be used as an attacking substitute for Yang or Chen. The young Li Jing is very quick and best on the counterattack, but may lack the discipline to adhere to Yuan’s pressing style.

FORWARDS
#09 - HUANG Shedong - 24 - Beian City
#10 - LIU Huiying (f) - 22 - Tractor Club Sawayama (SQR)

Huang Shedong and Liu Huiying form an incredibly fluid front line. Neither are particularly good at hold-up play or in the air, but both excel at finding gaps in the opponents’ defense and using dribbling and short passes to exploit them. Liu is the stronger passer, and as such tends to drop back more to connect the midfield and attack, and Huang the better finisher who stays up more.

#20 - LUO Dan - 21 - Beian Athletic
#21 - YU Wei - 30 - SC Jiangdong
#22 - WANG Jiahui - 20 - Yincheng Capitals

The experienced Yu Wei is a strong aerial presence and decent finisher, while Luo and Wang are more mobile forwards who can fill Huang and Liu’s roles ably.

Megistian Football Association

It was a rainy night on the day that the MFA was founded, for the purpose of Megistian football. Ever since that night 4 years ago, on the birthday of the emperor, Megistos has engaged in competitions such as the SWC or DBC, but never have they actually participated in the World Cup, which is why they are here, to reign in football, and lift the trophy.

Formation: 4-3-2-1
Head Coach: Maximilien Martinez
Tactics:
He plans to play a counter-attacking 4-3-2-1, with the RM and LM supposed to go more central to let the RB and LB attack and cross. Defensively, Lam will cover the players that have the ball, and the person who is supposed to mark him marks him essentially double-teaming him.
Assistant Coach: Danton Peti
Nickname: The Kids
Style Mod: +0

Starting XI

Image

Image
Becks - Goalkeeper - 18
A great goalkeeper, Becks is a young talent that is speedy and has quick reflexes. Expect the defense to be controlled by Becks, as well as the midfield, as he's quick to spot a chance through Cringan or Lukovic

Image
Fran - Left Back - 25
Fran is a quick and lean left back who'll do anything to get the ball. Expect plays to start from him, as he's also a great backup midfielder and attacker, so he has the attacking abilities as well

Image
Sears - Center Back - 28
Sears is a bulky, but unfortunately slow defender who'll be the 2nd goalkeeper when making goal-line clearances and important deflections.

Image
Fri - Center Back - 17
Fri is the defender who'll support the midfield but never go too high up the field, the attacker who stays in the defensive zones, and the defender who stops great chances. Yeah, say hello to Fri, a man who'll you'll probably never get a goal from a header from if you are marked by him.

Image
Williams - Right Back - 18
A speedy and tall player, Williams will often start the counter-attack passing to Cringan. He's also can play CB, so he can be a replacement. Williams can also header balls into the net, being 6 feet 3.

Image
Lukovic - Left Attacking Midfielder - 17
Lukovic is a speedy player who has netted in many goals. He was a absolute star on the field in the SWC 11, carrying the Megistian side along with Robertson and Co. to the semis. Watch out, he's also a star goalscorer and if you put him as striker the young duo of Robertson and Lukovic will be almost unstoppable

Image
Lam - Center Mid - 29
Lam is arguably the best player on the Megistian side, having the skills of a midfielder, the attacking position of a attacker, and the defensive mind of a defender, as well as having experience in both international and club football (Quetquios SC, Andrimiana CF). Expect him to be the best player on the pitch for this side.

Image
Jorgensen - Center Mid - 18
Jorgenson is another young talent with training and experience, and being the captain of the squad going into the SWC 11, he's not afraid to be the vice-captain behind Lam. Expect him to be the one who runs slowly on the attack and gets the balls from the edge of the box.

Image
Howard - Center Mid - 18
Howard is a slow but clinical player, and he's the one who'll be the backbone of the midfield. Expect players to run past him but not with the ball. Instead, the ball would be at Howard's feet.

Image
Cringan - Right Attacking Midfielder - 19
A speedy player, Cringan will run and cut inside for the curler of a cross or shot. One of the fastest players ever, he could have decided to switch his career to track, but he decided to go with his heart and go for soccer.

Image
Robertson - Striker - 19
The goalscorer of the squad, he takes the penalties, and he's the clinical striker that never wastes his chances. Expect him to be playing up high and press.

The Megistian kits were made by Adidas FUTURE, so special thanks for them.

Jafarolués fa Jídgem fa Tioguldós
Tioguldós Football Federation

National Football Team of Tioguldós "The Red Army"

The National Team of Tioguldós is a relatively new team, whose only official participation in an international competition was the BoF73. The construction of the People's Republic is a great effort for the Tiog people, and the professionalization of the sport is still in process. For this reason, Red Army players, regardless of their world-class quality, are temporarily released from the work duties of their respective occupations. This fundamentally means that the performances won't be the best, because they are not dedicated exclusively to the sport right now.
This great step constitutes a sporting milestone for the nation. From now on the Red Army will work actively to prove its worth, and perhaps in the near future the situation of Tioguldós' professional athletes can be duly regularized.

Politics

Tioguldós is a recently created socialist republic only ten years old. Its origin dates back to an armed uprising in the now national capital, Nor fam Bmodo, in which the workers overthrew the false democracy imposed on the Republic of Orkasduso. Orkasduso was a developing nation, rich in natural resources, but with minimal income, since almost all control over them was exercised by foreign companies. Insufficient industrialization added to capital flight impeded the growth of the productive force and progressively displaced the national bourgeoisie. Centuries ago it had been a colony of a great empire, which brutally murdered the natives and replaced the original population. Although they managed to formally become independent, the people of Orkasduso never achieved sovereignty over their lands or their work. Millions lived in deplorable conditions for years, and those who lived well were vulnerable. The advent of the armed revolt led to the beginning of a revolutionary movement, which acted in three separate regions and gained control over most of the territory. Today these three regions correspond to Caraludme, Bonbokh u Piche, and Tioguldós. Between the three they make up the Union of Patagonian People's Republics. The UPPR rules over the three nations, but they have a very high level of autonomy.

Today the armed conflict has ceased, and the People's Republic of Tioguldós is in the primary phase of the construction of socialism. The planned economy and state industry coexist with a protected national bourgeoisie and foreign investment. While it is not the ultimate Tioguldós ideal, it is a necessary step that the Tiog people must take to justly enforce their right to personal property, and ultimately achieve the fundamental premise of socialism: 'from each according to his ability, to each according to his needs. '

Culture

Due to the immigration that has occurred during the last centuries, Tioguldós is a multiethnic nation in which people of varied descent coexist. For the most part, their descendants are native or from the empire that colonized the lands centuries ago and its surroundings. The territory has been subject to sharp demographic fluctuations since the beginning of the revolution. Many opponents of the Workers' State fled the country, while hundreds of thousands came from abroad seeking a better future.

The official language is Tiog, a language spoken by very few people outside the UPPR. Other native and foreign languages are spoken by small minority communities.

The vast majority of the population is atheist, followed by Christians, various native religions, and finally a very small fraction follow some other religion. While there is freedom of belief, any religious establishment must be completely autonomous, detached from international organizations, must certify that it does not charge its members more than the value of the rent and minimum wage for their clergy, and must guarantee that it does not negatively affect the health or well-being of its members.

The people of Tioguldós are usually friendly, trustworthy and supportive. On the whole, Tiogs are direct and blunt. They are warm people who often communicate in close contact with one another. It is not uncommon to have little physical distance between speakers. Tiog people have BIG personalities. They are generous and friendly and will take you into their bosom and talk with you until you can talk no more. And then they will talk some more. They have all the time in the world to converse and have an opinion on everything. Even the quiet gentle ones will talk when they can get a word in above their more gregarious friends. Some are loud and dominant, waving their arms in their excitement, even if it is a conversation about the more mundane things in life. Others sit very quietly, yet still command attention. Notably, the quietest of the Tiogs can be the most passionate and outgoing when going to see the Red Army. They can be analytical and calculating, and at the same time energetic. Of course, there are exceptions. There is no simple Tiog archetype.

Fans of the Red Army are recognized for their effervescence. They encourage the team regardless of the result, chanting and jumping tirelessly during the ninety minutes. The roar of the goal cry erupts in a wave of raised hands and red flags. A crowd reflects its people. For a team from quieter nations where the background is more peaceful, facing a crowd packed with Tiogs at Ísupe Stadium can be a unique experience. The happy atmosphere of the match meets the unbridled passion for the Red Army. While violence has largely been eradicated from Tioguldós stadiums, it is not impossible for it to happen. Still, Tiog attendance is much higher in Tioguldós, where security forces effectively prevent exceptional situations.

Staff and players

Coach: Gúpder Mebal (former coach of Image Nofararekh Faberdakh)
Assistant coach: Moro Refrukal
GK coach: Loniam Busfe
Fitness coach: Fanuós Kerfes
Doctor: Jarnús Nordusel
Physiotherapist: Relúe Losdoso

Squad:
Image

GK - Arsós Boal: A consistent goalkeeper. He kept his goal safe throughout the Muko Tiog season despite Faberdakh Tisús' defensive deficiencies. Tall and with good coverage, he is especially good at cross balls to the far post, yet he does not perform very well on penalties. He usually advances with the ball at his feet, organizing the team towards the middle of the field. He is a person of great composure, who does not lose concentration in moments of tension.

LB - Kildoge Fenuskal: Fenuskal is a fullback, although he seems not to know it. In the field he is one more striker. It is common to see him offering for a pass between the opposing defense lines. He has great capacity for long passes and is the fastest player on the team. In terms of personality, his incisive and ambitious character perfectly describe why he is the captain of Draspa Moipas. As they say in Tioguldós, Draspa Moipas plays with 11 forwards.

RB - Norue Gomospar: Across the field, Norue Gomospar is an apprentice from Fenuskal. Although much more cautious and well balanced, Gomospar looms as one more option in attack on the right wing. He is a much less remarkable player, but perhaps one of the most complete in his position. He has a natural penchant for teamwork and is usually the first to come over to congratulate his opponent after the match.

CB - Miluose Oches: Miluose Oches stands out for his physical fitness. Despite his stature, he can reach great speed. This makes him a headache for opposing forwards who must fight the ball with him. Off the field he is friendly and cheerful, but when he dons the Red Army jersey he unleashes all his bravery. It is common to see him arguing with the referee and even sometimes with the fans of the opposing team.

CB - Tilde Lomifal: Some people call him 'Boraf', which translates to 'Wall'. Almost two meters tall and over 90 kilograms, Lomifal is a born center back. His ineptitude with the ball at his feet is offset by the strength of his header. He is a very sober and cold person, almost intimidating. He is one of the few active Tioguldós players to have played in the Orkasdusian First Division.

DM - Losduse Albofokh: He is a player completely dedicated to keeping his team in control of the midfield. Standing from the center circle, he functions as the axis of play in the comings and goings of the team. He rarely gets too close to the box, instead taking care to cover gaps and keep the ball moving. When the Red Army defends, Albofokh can be reckless. Opponent midfielders will not want to run past him with the ball, as their knees could be at risk. Cocky, even a bit of a smug, facing him can leave you feeling bitter.

CM - Lumugue 'Nese' Niforro: 'Nese' means 'Monkey'. As his nickname suggests, Nese Niforro is a really charismatic player. Always cheerful and jocund. When he carries the ball, he is able to surprise with an amazing dribble, or an unexpected pass. When his teammates have it, the captain orders the team. If the other team has it... Let's just say they have to be careful if Niforro is around. If he's in range, he won't hesitate to tackle. Together with his Pmig Enako teammate, Losduse Albofokh, they make up a pair of midfielders to fear. Not only because of their defensive toughness, but also because of their playmaking skills.

OM - Óstam Perda Raom: If we talk about a classic 'No 10', Perda Raom is the first name mentioned in Tioguldós. Supported by the constant marking of his team, Perda Raom does not run all over the field. Instead, he positions himself well and controls the ball outstandingly. 'The best defense is to have the ball', he says, confident. He handles the ball with such quality that it seems to move in slow motion, yet he is completely unpredictable. He is possibly the most thoughtful and intelligent player in the country. He's also a very good free kick shooter.

LF - Prulduos Omnofo: Don't let his stature deceive you, he's a big player of the Red Army. He was voted one of the best of the season playing for Draspa Moipas, and let it be clear that they are a difficult team to impress. Although he is short, he is burly in complexion. This, combined with his speed and technique make him a relentless second striker. Omnofo naturally fits in with Gúpder Mebal's 4-3-3 offensive game. His personality combines his gracious humility with his great ambition. Although he is a team player, he does not think twice when he can score.

RF - Jarsosfe Mongard: Complemented with Omnofo, Mongard is adept at disposing of the defenders that mark him and creating open spaces to infiltrate. His great explosive power and speed make him a pain in the ass to score. He can be somewhat undisciplined, especially for the sober-minded style that characterizes the Red Army. However, this is not a problem for Mebal, who sees Mongard as the turning point between a predictable attack and effective chaos. He may not fit perfectly with the coach's instructions, but as long as he continues to get past the rival defenders and take the ball to goal, he will continue to carry the '7' of the Red Army.

CF - Ugós Oroso: He is without a doubt the best player in the Red Army. He is a very complete striker. He's good on the ball, he shoots with precision, he heads excellently, and when his teammates control the ball he can confuse defenders and generate plays without even touching it. Oroso performs fantastically as a False 9, but can easily act as a striker if necessary, as he did this season with OMB, ending up as top scorer. He is laid back and has a very special affection for fans. Every goal he scores is a goal for them.

Tactics

Formation: 4-3-3
Style Mod: +2

In Gúpder Mebal's 4-3-3, the plays are focused on creating gaps in the rival defense through which to make deep passes to the wide forwards. The CF fulfills the role of 'False 9', for which Ugós Oroso is a favorite. The midfield constantly presses and plays the ball along with the fullbacks, waiting for the right moment to make an attack.
It's an aggressive style of play that can undermine the defensive capabilities of the team. The central defenders, Oches and Lomifal, contain rival counterattacks and provide aerial security on set pieces.

Silver Commonwealth's Football Association
The roster of SCFA's team

History of the team: ''In a different universe, on a blue and green marble in a solar system, there's an entity and its team. Silver Commonwealth's Football Association (SCFA) and the international team was formed in 2017 as an organization to be the face of football of its planet - until then there was a lack of international governing body of types of association football, and a lot of things were left up to regional teams due of the messy geopolitical situation the SC's world found itself in with hostile superpowers. Decades later, both SC's government and SCFA found themselves in a herculean position - from one side both had got access to a lot more resources to work with, and several territories had strong football teams beforehand, meaning that SCFA had a large pool to choose from and theoretically could be a formidable force. But from the other side they had also got various issues in the process, or inherited conflicts. When it came to funding, SCFA wasn't in the greatest spot either, considering that lion's share of government funding still went for military and police, considering the low security levels in several sectors of the SC (armed conflicts, internal crime, etc), and the budget had to be split with several other sports organizations such as Hockey Association, Baseball Association, etc. Another thing holding back SC's football is the still present poverty, terrible or bad infrastructure in some regions, corruption of officials, along with a lack of skilled players to train the newer generations. So, it is not unusual to see SCFA asking for monetary support from the fans and fan clubs of various regional teams, mostly for providing sports equipment in territories where it is lacking, along with training those local football players which prove to be more skilled in inspections. SC's professional football players have also received calls for help from SCFA for mostly the same help, although sometimes it is also about the improvement of its public image - SCFA has experienced scandals related to its leadership and its spending of funds in the past.''

''Although the team representing SC as a whole hasn't participated in major world cup events, there have been plenty of games and tournaments between the regional teams, and so far. the game between SC's New Guinea and SC's Australia in 2006 holds the SC's record of largest win (and loss) from the official SC's all-region tournaments, with score being 22-0 in Australia's favor. When it comes to broadcasting matches in live, the SNN's subsection of sports news in most cases keeps the rights to broadcast sports events in TV, internet, radio, etc (SNN is SC's news network created with goal of making a single news broadcaster with countless affiliated channels and subsections of different topics to centralize the access to information). As SC is a large entity to say the least, it has plenty of teams and players to chose from. However, in tournaments where it has to compete with other countries, SC's Ministry of Sports usually chooses only players from those teams which have performed the best in its own tournaments (in this tournament - from its Brazilian territories). Due of lack of private entities, a lot of SC's team's sponsorships come from state companies or other entities affiliated with either SC's central or regional governments, which means that there is always a delicate line to keep in mind, and backlash over football player actions is usually high. For its growing list of regional teams SCFA has organized ''Cup of Hope'' since 2015, and it remains one of the most significant football tournaments in SC's world, although smaller, regional tournaments are often broadcasted too. The reward for 1st place is champion's title and a golden cup, obviously.''

Style: +5

Tactics: ''Although playing styles of SC's regional teams are different and some are more balanced in defense/offense (Italian, Spanish, etc), like with a lot of other aspects in SC's structure its representative football team goes fully in either for maximum defense or offense. In this case, the attackers of football team are prioritized at the maximum, with main goal being to get the ball in opponent team's goal before the opponent team does so. For this reason, endurance is valued more than speed in some cases, if it means that more energy will be left for rushing to the opponent's goals as fast as possible in critical moments. However, such approach means that SC's international team is not that good when it comes to defense, and although the formation has somewhat good back (If compared to more risky and pressure-heavy offensive formations like diamond-shaped 4-2-4), and defenders of course try to defend their side of the field as much as possible, often the team's goalkeeper is the best bet if opponent team manages to break through the defense. This approach has sometimes been cited as ''Achilles' heel'' by some of the coaches of SC's world, with one coach from SC's Caribbean suggesting to ''work on team's defender skills instead in search for more middle ground approach''.''

Formation: 4-3-3

Field:

Uniforms: ''The regional teams in internal games have various uniforms, but SC's team for international tournaments has a single uniform. Home uniform consists from shirt with stripes (white color and this shade of blue), with this shade of red sleeves, black shorts and boots. (Away uniform looks roughly the same, except the white-blue stripes are replaced by plain silver color). Shirts of both versions contain cogwheel - symbol of Commonwealth.''

Stadium: SC has a lot of stadiums available for sports, including football. However, for sake of making things simpler, SCFA plans to host its home games in a single stadium. As most of team is from Brazilian regions, the chosen stadium itself is in those territories. Salgado stadium was built in late 2000s by orders from the SC's Brazil's football association. It has seating capacity of about 60 000 people, and it is possible to extend it by couple thousand people. It is a domed stadium, but the dome is obviously used only when there's bad weather. However, unlike some other football stadium's, the stadium in question was built according to Brutalist architecture style. Stadium also has large projectors and electronics boards of results, along with implemented metal detectors and scanners at the entrance, which were envisioned in the project from the beginning. Towers for press and sports commentators are also included, and a quite large car park is located at the outside.

Fan culture: ''Due of the vast size and cultural differences of SC, there is not a single uniform fan culture of football - in some SC's regions football is on a level of a national sport, while in some other regions others would rather want to play something like hockey or baseball, and the football community there is small, albeit dedicated. Either way, a lot of SC's teams have dedicated fans both at TV screens and in stadium - the fans from British Isles and La Plata (Basically Argentina) stand out in particular when it comes to SC's football scene, although it still depends on the individual - one is a commentator, other is a hardcore fan, while someone else doesn't prefer any specific sport. And yes, football hooligans to an extent are a thing, and the disputes between two football team fans can get heated - for this reason bars aren't allowed to sell more than a certain amount of alcohol during a football match. That said, it rarely escalates into massive brawls or physical violence due of fear from retribution of security guards and police special task battalions of which there are plenty in the official events. In those cases when violence does escalate, the security and police battalions usually don't spare baton kicks and arrests. So, some football viewers rather stare closely at the football field without much emotion in their face, even when their team scores a goal. Still, most of the time stadium is full with ovation, and football chants from both teams are often heard in the stadium, as they are an another part of the fan culture. Products with football team symbols (like shirts, chips, shorts, soda, sausage, scarfs, etc) do exist, but their sale is regulated, and some part of the profit has to go to the regional or central football association as per command economy paragraph on sports, and extensive centralization of businesses.

SAVIGLIANE NATIONAL TEAM ROSTER
World Cup 86 Qualifying

Savigliane weren't exactly favored in their international debut at the Baptism of Fire, considering the nationwide crisis they're currently working through. Yet despite struggling to adapt to international football while coping with the loss of friends, teammates, and family, Laurent Chambéry's Swans proved disciplined and well-drilled in the Group Stage, conceding just two goals in a five-game unbeaten run. Alas, Glazgo proved too much for the fledgling team in the Round of 16, and Savigliane comes into WC86 qualifiers with something to prove.

Specific information about Savigliane's situation can be found in my first WCQ RP or my BoF RP line. Essentially, the nation has been teleported to the NS world from an IRL equivalent and is still working through the fallout of that event.

NICKNAME: The Swans / The Red and Blues
MANAGER: Laurent CHAMBÉRY - 56 Edward HERNÁNDEZ - 47 (Northwest Kalactin)
ASST. MANAGER: Natalia ROSSI - 42
STYLE MOD: +1.5
STADIUM: Stadio del Piero, Acqui Bollente, Savigliane (cap. 59,000)
FORMATION: 3-4-1-2

Captain - Camillo Notari
Vice-Captain - Pietro Giraudo
Penalty Taker - Francesco Grimaldi
Free Kick Taker - Gabriel Lefebvre
Corner-Kick Taker - Bertrand Marchetti (L), Giovanna Vitale (R)

TACTICS

First choice lineup

When on the attack, Savigliane emphasizes fluid build-up play and using the width provided by their wingbacks - as well as the cover of their back three - to push forward and create overloads (usually on whichever side the more attack-minded wingback, Vitale, is on). Afterward, the strong passing of Lefebvre and the incisive runs of Coste and Grimaldi are used to create chances. The wingbacks, central midfielders, and even Giraudo are given license to push forward to maintain a numerical advantage, especially against weaker opposition, while long passes to the strikers from Giraudo or the midfield are used as a backup plan against more defensive-minded sides.

While defending, Lefebvre drops back into midfield, the wingbacks fall back, and the two central midfielders are tasked with maintaining a midfield press, trying to keep the ball from the opponents’ more creative midfielder. If possession is regained, Savigliane will try to play the ball out from the back, trusting in the ball-playing skills of the back three.

Laurent Chambéry is very flexible with his tactics, and his 3-4-1-2 offers a lot of ways to change formation mid-match. Giraudo is often moved to defensive midfield to switch to four at the back (this will often be accompanied by Vitale being substituted out in favor of a more defensive-minded fullback). Another common move is for Lefebvre to be replaced by a natural winger, such as Barthelemy, or another forward, such as Squarciafichi, to shift to a 3-4-3. Additionally, the wing-backs Marchetti and Vitale often switch sides during stops in play, in order to target a specific flank while attacking (or to respond to Vitale being targeted defensively).

Score a Goal - Francesco Grimaldi, Isabella Coste, Gabriel Lefebvre
Score from Distance - Gabriel Lefebvre, Giovanna Vitale, Amara Vatrican
Assist a Goal - Gabriel Lefebvre, Isabella Coste, Amara Vatrican
Score off a Header - Francesco Grimaldi, Thea Squarciafichi, Pietro Giraudo
Win a Free Kick/Penalty - Isabella Coste, Giovanna Vitale, Amara Vatrican
Get Sent Off - Marcos Beccaria, Efisio Moreau, Eloisa Fenoglio
Get a Yellow Card - Efisio Moreau, Augustin Dirac, Adrian Toscani
Come Through in the Clutch - Amara Vatrican, Bertrand Marchetti, Francesco Grimaldi

GOALKEEPERS

#01 - Camillo NOTARI (C) - 31 - Free Agent
#12 - Charlotte FASANO - 26 - San Ludovico
#23 - Nicolas DuCASSE - 23 - Stade-Ferre Trinité

Notari is a commanding aerial presence, a penalty-kick specialist, and a solid all-around shot-stopper. If he does have a weakness, it’s that he’s a little shaky with distribution, although this has generally been covered by the center-backs’ abilities on the ball. Fasano is a younger, worse version of Notari whose main strength is her agility, while DuCasse is a more modern style of goalkeeper known for his distribution, but with room to improve in the air.

DEFENDERS

#02 - Adélaïde GARCIA - 23 - AS Villeneuve
#03 - Efisio MOREAU - 28 - Free Agent
#05 - Pietro GIRAUDO - 30 - AC Acqui Bolente

#13 - Rémy LeCLERC - 21 - Stade-Ferre Trinité
#16 - Eloisa FENOGLIO - 32 - Free Agent
#24 - Marco BECCARIA - 29 - Pietrargenta

Giraudo is the real gem in a very skilled trio of defenders. His skill on the ball and ability to make accurate long passes makes him a vital cog in Savigliane’s offense. He’s also a solid defender in his own right - although not particularly athletic, his positioning and tactical acumen are remarkable. Moreau is the brawn to Giraudo’s brain - his aerial presence and strength are both excellent, although he’s more well-rounded than one might expect, and a consummate professional on and off the field. Meanwhile, Garcia is the quickest of the back three - while still occasionally prone to mistakes while on the ball, her athleticism and man-marking capabilities make her a valuable, versatile asset to the national team.

Of the three substitutes, Fenoglio is the best on the ball, but although she’s had a very solid playing career, her athleticism has sharply declined from her peak, and she’s never been a particularly polished center-back. Young LeClerc is sharp, athletic, and versatile (serving as both a center-back and right-back for Trinité), but not polished enough with the ball to earn a starting spot yet. Meanwhile, the appropriately-named Beccaria’s hard-nosed, physical style of play has earned a reputation as one of the most hated players in Savigliane outside of his hometown of Pietrargenta. But while he may be polarizing, he’s also earned cult-hero status for his tactical know-how, his strength, and his aerial presence.

MIDFIELDERS

#04 - Bertrand MARCHETTI - 26 - Free Agent
#06 - Amara VATRICAN - 27 - AC Acqui Bolente
#19 - Augustin DIRAC - 23 - L’Escarene SC
#11 - Giovanna VITALE - 24 - Free Agent

#15 - Fabiano DUTTO - 30 - Free Agent
#17 - Madeleine BELANGER - 31 - Free Agent
#22 - Adrian TOSCANI - 21 - Porto Vecchio
#80 - Sébastien PETIT - 28 - Villeneuve NSC

Marchetti may not be the flashiest player on the team, but his endurance, pace, and keen sense of positioning make him absolutely essential to Savigliane’s tactical setup. An excellent passer, Marchetti is capable of making key offensive contributions (although he doesn’t push up as zealously as his counterpart, Vitale), but seemingly is always able to get back in time to disrupt counterattacks or fall back on defense. Vitale is more explosive, and her crossing and shooting ability make her more of a direct threat when attacking. A converted winger, she’s not particularly good tracking back, although her athleticism gets her some of the way there. Vatrican is the more adventurous of the two center-midfielders, with her excellent dribbling enabling her to make driving runs toward the box, and her accurate - if not particularly creative - passing helping the team advance up the pitch. Dirac is used as more of a holding midfielder for his club, but while his positional awareness and ball-playing skills are excellent for a midfielder of his age, he’s prone to being pushed off the ball and can easily disappear during matches against more physical sides.

Dutto is an ambidextrous, versatile, fullback with the pace and endurance to substitute for Marchetti or Vitale. He’s not as incisive an attacking presence of either of them, but is solid enough at the position, even if he’s probably best suited to a back four. Belanger is best suited to more of a deep-lying playmaker role due to her field vision, creativity, and skill on the ball. However, while she’s deceptively athletic, her defensive weakness doesn’t make her the best partner for either Vatrican or Dirac, and she’s probably better suited to replacing Lefebvre in the starting eleven. Toscani is a technically gifted young midfielder who, despite not being particularly athletic, has already impressed in his short time at Porto Vecchio. He’s capable of playing as a center-midfielder, an attacking-midfielder, or, thanks to his surprisingly good crossing ability, on the wing. Petit is a hard-working box-to-box midfielder on the field, known for his versatility and energy. Off the field, he doesn’t have the best of reputations, which is probably why he didn’t originally make the final cut despite his talent.

FORWARDS

#07 - Isabella COSTE - 24 - AS Villeneuve
#09 - Francesco GRIMALDI - 31 - Free Agent
#10 - Gabriel LEFEBVRE - 33 - Free Agent

#18 - Thea SQUARCIAFICHI - 20 - EDC Fossano
#19 - Michael DURAND - 29 - Free Agent
#32 - Zoë BARTHELEMY - 23 - Stade-Ferre Trinité

Grimaldi is a strong, physical presence in the box with a propensity for headers. While still athletic enough to get by in this system, he’s definitely lost a step, and he looks for his own shot a little too much. Coste is the opposite - end product and strength are the only things she lacks, while her speed and dribbling ability make her a constant threat to set up her teammates. Lefebvre is a forward with his club team who Chambéry has opted to deploy as a free-flowing attacking midfielder. What he’s lost in pace he’s made up for with brilliant, creative passes, long-range threat, and general skill on the ball, making him one of the most dangerous players on the team if not dealt with properly.

Squarciafichi, while still unpolished, is a deadly finisher. Although a solid dribbler, her best runs are off the ball, and her passing is definitely a work in progress. Durand is more of a support striker, adept at both scoring and creating and most at home in a more fluid front three. Barthelemy is more of a natural winger, although she’s ambidextrous and versatile enough to play on either wing. Her greatest assets are her energy, pace and dribbling, but she’s a little lacking in end product.

Nation Name: The Galactic Empire of Kohnhead
Shorter Name: Kohnhead
Nation Trigramme: KND
Record: 33-9-14 (W-D-L)
WCC Record: 21-6-11 (W-D-L)
WC Rank: 74th (Pot 4)
Inaugural Match: Starcom Racing 3 - 1 Kohnhead
Achievements: First Place at the 2nd Wonder Cup, Round of 16 at 72nd BOF, 5th place in group 2 of WC85 qualfiers, Round of 16 at 77th Cup of Harmony, Round of 16 at the 10th IAC
Top Scorer: Aaron Korkson (33)
Most Assists: Linus Rallyton (18)
Most Caps: Charles Laker (56)

Team Info: The Brains surpassed all expectations and turned many heads at their original attempt at qualifying as we came in 6th in our group but that doesn't tell the whole story. We were in it until the second to last match where Drawkland eliminated us by winning 5-4. We have also impressed in virtually every other competition we have been in but this time it's different. Will the burden of actual expectations as a pot 4 team limit us this time? There's no underdog role to embrace in this position and we have an actual outside chance of qualifying.

The official roster of the KNFT consists of the following players for the World Cup qualifying. It has players from the KFL (Kohnhead Football League), as well as some who play on teams abroad.

Starting XI
(C) Forward: Aaron Korkson #91 (M) Age: 24 Team: Kohnhead City FC
Caps: 54 Goals: 33 Assists: 13
The 24 year old captain played very well at the Baptism of Fire before their loss in the round of 16. He also was one of the main reasons they were able to do so well in the World Cup 85 qualifiers. He's a strong leader and is able to score goals pretty easily. He and Maltos are the stars on Kohnhead City FC and on national team. He will be entering his prime soon and leads the squad in goals by a large amount.

Forward: Erin Maltos #10 (F) Age: 24 Team: Kohnhead City FC
Caps: 54 Goals: 23 Assists: 14
Erin Maltos is very good. While Korkson may have 10 more goals, the impact she has on the game when she's plays cannot be understated and although there are times and there are some games where she may disappear into the shadow of other stars, she has the best footwork on the team and a deadly shot. She like Korkson will be reaching her prime soon and it will be good to see.

Central Attacking Mid: Audrey Henderson #9 (F) Age: 23 FC Kohnface City
Caps: 35 Goals: 5 Assists: 7
For the longest time, Henderson was our top sub off of the bench especially in the midfield and she stepped up big time when Cogginter went down early on during the qualifiers at World Cup 85. Despite this it seemed that the young Henderson may never be given a spot to start until finally before our inaugural IAC, Coach Kohnhead decided to give her the starting spot in for Hannah Horsford as we transitioned to a 4-3-1-2. Henderson played extremely well at said IAC and has not looked back since.

Right Mid: Ida Cogginter #41 (F) Age: 29 Team: Kohnhead City FC
Caps: 36 Goals: 7 Assists: 8
Two years ago before our BOF many thought Audrey Henderson the then young 21 year old would have her spot. Cogginter proved those doubters wrong and had a fantastic tournament. She really is a big part in the flow of the offense and has great skills as a passer. Cogginter plays second fiddle on Kohnhead City to Korkson and Maltos but she really played well in the BOF and some claim her injury was the reason Kohnhead didn't make it to the quarters. Despite her injury troubles in the qualifiers for World Cup 85 she has returned as good as ever in the Cup of Harmony and in the IAC. It was a bold move to give her the starting spot originally and it was a bold move to give it back to her upon her return to injury but she has deserved it both times.

Center Mid: Linus Rallyton #11 (M) Age: 26 Team: FC Yassaca (SRS)
Caps: 53 Goals: 8 Assists: 18
It didn't take long for Linus Rallyton to show that he was the best player in Kohnhead and it happened during our Baptism of Fire as he looked dominant. He is our all time leader in assists with 18 and he controls the game from the center of the field as that guy. Last offseason he completed a massive move to FC Yassaca in the Squornshelan Remnant States as he looks to put them over the top. Rallyton is in top shape even after his injury in our second match at the IAC last year.

Left Mid: Charles Laker #54 (M) Age: 21 Team: Barnley FC
Caps: 56 Goals: 12 Assists: 8
In the two years since our Baptism of Fire we have seen the emergence of Charles Laker on the left side of this midfield. His talent, skills, and maturity level have grown exponentially and he will keep getting better in the years ahead. Laker is the only player to have played (he has started them all) in every single game in Kohnhead's brief history, and he has played every minute of every game showing just how much of an ironman he has been.

Right Back: Caroline Prius-Lenoard #76 (F) Age: 33 Team: Barnley FC
Caps: 53 Goals: 0 Assists: 4
Prius-Leonard didn't start out too well as the entire defense struggled during our Baptism of Fire but since then she has been a constant at right back and has really turned her game around. CPL is getting up there in age and while she has missed only three games as part of the team she has a bad injury history and at 33 many people are worried how much longer she can keep playing at a high level as she has publicly flirted with retiring before this domestic league season and Barnley don't know her future plans. It would be a major loss if she decides to retire or if her injury issues come back.

Center Back: Miranda Atkinson #51 (F) Age: 20 Barnley FC
Caps: 43 Goals: 2 Assists: 2
Miranda Atkinson has been the second best player on the defense since she became a starter midway through the Baptism of Fire, two years ago. Since then she has improved, just reached, 20, and not to mention won the MVP with Barnley FC in season 1 of the KFL. She like a lot of this team has her best days ahead of her and will be the starter for a long time.

Center Back: Claire Corton #24 (F) Age: 27 Team: Swisston City FC
Caps: 35 Goals: 1 Assists: 1
Corton had a rough start to the BoF, with some saying her and Vargas were the major problem with the team. She stepped it up a bit later in the tournament but overall had a rough BOF. Since then she has been a real redemption story playing extremely well, a lot better than when Callie Porsha had to step in as her replacement. Corton is still in the prime of her career, but she was injured midway through last time's qualifiers causing her to miss the entire Cup of Harmony. Hopefully she can put those injury questions behind her.

Left Back: Nicholas Radison #14 (M) Age: 25 Team: FC Kohnface City
Caps: 55 Goals: 4 Assists: 1
Radison has been the best defender by far. He has the pace to run up and down the wings which is something you always look for in a wing back. Radison has consistently been the lone saving grace of the defense but now the defense is much improved which will take the burden off of his back especially with the emergence of Atkinson, and the improvements from Prius-Leonard and Claire Corton. Radison is just entering his prime at age 25.

Goalkeeper: Bertha Sanders #1 Age: 22 (F) Team: Philtront Pioneers
Caps: 7 Goals: 0 Assists: 0
After starting for Kohnhead at the most recent U-21 World Cup/DBC, Sanders in a surprise move was named the National Team starter over Madison Richards for the IAC. Richards continued to be on the bench as Sanders who looked good at the DBC took over for the legend that was Jackson Newcastle. Newcastle has also returned to and will be a member of the coaching staff and will especially be helping Sanders. It appears as if Coach Kohnhead has made another smart move as she looked great at the IAC and could be the starter for the next 15 years.

Captain: Korkson
Left Free Kick: Rallyton
Right Free Kick: Rallyton
Right Corner: Rallyton
Left Corner: Rallyton
Penalties: Korkson or Maltos

Formation: 4-3-1-2. It has two center backs, two full backs, three midfielders, a central attacking midfielder and two strikers.

Coach: Christopher Kohnhead (M) Age: 54 Colanso City (JEC)

Bench
Forward: Griffin Phoenix-Anderson #68 (M) Age: 35 Nickelson FC
Caps: 11 Goals: 1 Assists: 1
Pheonix-Anderson got some playing time early in the BOF as a substitute for Richman but with the formation change I don't expect him to get any more barring injury. He looked fine for a sub in those games. He played a grand total of 9 minutes in the game Richman was forced into starting due to Korkson's suspension against Kita-Hinode. Pheonix-Anderson has already announced he is retiring at the end of the next season at age 36 and this WC cycle will probably be the last on his International career.

Goalkeeper: Madison Richards #72 (F) Age: 32 Nickelson FC
Caps: 4 Goals: 0 Goals: 0
Richards proved to be a suitable backup in the 3 games that she started last time in place of Jackson Newcastle as she despite some nerves in the first one settled down. At age 32, she will probably remain the backup for the rest of her career as Bertha Sanders has looked very good so far.

Defensive Mid: Hannah Horsford #2 (F) Age: 31 Team: Philtront Pioneers
Caps: 35 Goals: 4 Assists: 4
Horsford got into the starting XI due to a formation change which removed Harry Richman from the striker during the BOF and added her as a defensive midfielder. Overall I thought she was pretty eh the entire time in which she was a starter. Now on the bench, she will not see a lot more minutes but she served her purpose extremely well.

Forward: Thomas Stratford #12 (M) Age: 21 Nickelson FC
Caps: 5 Goals: 1 Assists: 0
Stratford has barely played for the National team but with both Griffin Pheonix-Anderson and Harry Richman getting on with age he could pass them and become the best striker on the bench. He recently graduated from University and succesfully returned to his club of Nickelson to pair with GPA and Madison Richards. As of right now he's the third choice striker off of the bench but some say he might be surpassing Pheonix-Anderson.

Back: Callie Porsha #42 (F) Age: 20 Kohnhead City University
Caps: 31 Goals: 1 Assists: 3
Porsha is the first choice defender off the bench with Vargas having played so poorly, Porsha is ahead of him. The main benefit of her is she can play center back, full back, and wing back. Vargas doesn't have that capability as he is only a center back. She started in place of Claire Corton and while she didn't look bad she wasn't the best. Will she remain the first choice defender off the bench with Taylor Rodar starting to ascend?

Forward: Harry Richman #77 (M) Age: 33 Team: Barnley FC
Caps: 32 Goals: 10 Assists: 4
Harry Richman has come in clutch for this team. He plays 65 minutes a game when he starts yet is ready to come off the bench and give this team a spark whenever necessary. He has come off the bench before and performed extremely well. He is still the first choice striker off the bench but Stratford may surpass him soon.

Back: Dylan Vargas #23 (M) Age: 31 Team: Swisston City FC
Caps: 16 Goals: 1 Assists: 1
Vargas what a disgrace. A starter who was so bad he was moved to the last spot on the bench and may never see playing time again for Kohnhead that's how bad he was. I don't want to talk about him. At this point he is hanging on to his National Team spot by a thread with numerous reports suggesting this may be the last time he's on the team.

Mid: Al Torgan #21 (M) Age: 28 Team: Capital FC (SYL)
Caps: 18 Goals: 2 Assists: 1
Al Torgan is the first choice midfielder off the bench ahead of both Barter, and Johnson and he showed this in the IAC. He scored twice in that tournament including the winner against Port Ember while he played in place of the injured Linus Rallyton. While he isn't as talented as Rallyton he played his best and turned many heads.

Mid: Suzanna Barter #60 (F) Age: 19 Team: Real Dawson
Caps: 1 Goals: 0 Assists: 1
Barter replaced Balmer on the squad as they like the upside that Barter offers more than they like Balmer's as Barter is only 19. Suzanna really emerged in season 1 of the the KFL on a surprise Real Dawson squad that made the Challengers. Barter got her only cap (it was a start) in the match against Delaclava which was a friendly and she record an assist. Despite this, Sophie Johnson is ahead of her on the depth chart.

Mid: Sophie Johnson #7 (F) Age: 20 Team: Kohnhead City FC
Caps: 1 Goals: 0 Assists: 0
The story for Johnson is the same as the story for Barter. Both have lots of talent but may never see serious playing time for the National team with Rallyton, Laker, Cogginter, Henderson, possibly Horsford, and possibly Torgan in front of them.

Back: Taylor Rodar #15 (F) Age: 21 Team: New Capetown Falcons (TAE)
Caps: 1 Goals: 0 Assists: 0
Rodar after leaving Bingham City was called up to the National team as possibly the second center back off of the bench behind Porsha. Rodar didn't play too well at the DBC and Bingham City were awful during their relegation year but they know her skill level and everyone knows a new team in the New Capetown Falcons could mean wonders for her career. The question of her or Porsha, and who will replace CPL when she inevitably retires is a question on everyone's mind as Rodar can play on the outside as well.

South Covello National Team Roster

Nickname: Rebels
Style modifier: -5

Head Coach: Gideon "Giddy" Luggnut
Assistant Head Coach: Vinnie LaGuche, Joey Egermeister

After World Cup 79 and the South Covellan Revolution, the feisty Rebels elected to turn things over to the next generation. Richard Hawkins, previously the star goalkeeper, was named head coach, but the entire team was new. Vinnie LaGuche returned as well, as an assistant coach, and was joined by Joey Egermeister, a proud supporter of the Revolution and lifelong soccer fan who previously served as Acting President of the South Covello Soccer Federation after the Gregists were overthrown.

Hawkins and his staff hand-picked the new stars, and to his pleasant surprise he was able to find a young goalie who was almost athletic as he was, in Matthew Tyler. Tyler was just 19 years old and already almost as good as Hawkins was. In time, he would probably even surpass him. The rest of the team filled in nicely as well, defensively minded as always, and, as many of them had grown up idolizing the strong defensive wall, first for the Foot Slaves and then the Rebels, this led many of them to become defenders as well. So the good old Rebel Wall was still there, great and strong as ever. The team wouldn’t be letting in many goals this cycle, it sure seemed.

The Rebels would be playing a defensive 4-5-1 this cycle, with the sole striker being the young, awesomely named star Coconut Charles. The Coconut name, of course, was a direct insult to the Gregists, Lord Almighty Gregory and the others who forbid the mere mention of the work. It was sure to be a spectacular future.

However, the future wasn't all it was cracked up to be. South Covello fell way too early, in the Round of 16 of World Cup 80. However, they rebounded in World Cup 81, making the final before losing to Eura, and will look to finally hoist that elusive trophy this tournament. World Cup 82 and World Cup 83 saw them not advance far either. World Cup 84 saw the debut of Lonzo Gordon-McHayward-Greensward-Squidward as South Covello again fell early in the knockout stages, and World Cup 85 featured several more new young players. Notably, it ffeatured 16 year old phenom Dodo McAllister, who can double as a striker and offensive midfielder, though he mostly cam off the bench and to provide some fresh legs and maybe lead a comeback. He is widely considered a successor to Pillory Cantwell once the latter retires. However, winger Nick Night is also highly regarded.

World Cup 85 was a deep disappointment, with the Rebels failing to qualify for the first time in ages, and the SCCF made it quite clear that Richard Hawkins will be out as head coach unless he can bring home the Cup of Harmony trophy. He did not, so former youth coach Gideon "Giddy" Luggnut was hired in his place. Following the Campeonato Esportiva, OMC Pillory Cantwell retired from international play, so youth phenom Dodo McAllister will become a full-time starter.

Revolution Stadium, Riverview

Revolution Stadium opened to start World Cup 80 and usher in a new generation of South Covellan soccer. The stadium is located on the banks of the Goldenrod River, and fans will be able to arrive at the stadium by boat should they wish. As the river is navigable in the portions that run through San Jose Guayabal as well, this opens up the possibility that some visitng fans from that nation could visit if the two nations face each other. However, as San Jose Guayabal appears to have withdrawn from international competition for the time being, that seems unlikely for now.

As mentioned above, the stadium is far more intimate than the old one, seating a relatively small 42,000 fans, with ample space for supporters as well as a small number of visiting fans. The views from the stadium are immaculate, looking out over the Goldenrod Valley with the river in view as well. For games played in the fall, it will just be an amazing sight to behold, even ignoring what is going on with the game.

Lineup 1:

Markos Moustakakos - We start with the first team goalkeeper who is technically also a player manager. Markos is a fantastic shot stopper who can command his players very well, as shown in the Sporting World Cup and Campionato Esportiva, where the Vdaran Under-18s won the former and reached the quarter-finals of the latter, all with Markos in charge.

Tryfon Vlahiades - A wondrous wing back who always puts 100% effort into every match, Vlahiades has shown his greatness internationally, with his pace being used to get to wide areas further down the pitch. The 27-year-old is a skilful crosser and free-kick taker, and is usually the penalty-kick taker. The wing back scored 4 goals in the WC85 qualifiers, earning him a move to 1830 Cathair in Audioslavia, where he’s shown his worth as a great full-back. Following the retirement of Mathaios Pardakis, he took on the captain’s armband.

Nestoras Galanatos - Mathaios Pardakis’ retirement at the age of 41 paved the way for Nestoras Galanatos to enter the squad, and he’s certainly going to try and prove himself. Having come on as a substitute a couple of times during the previous cycle, he made 13 appearances - and only 2 of those had him in the starting lineup. He scored one goal in those 13 games, and it was a stunner.

Valentinos Giannakos - Giannakos is not the most well-known player in the squad, but he is certainly a fantastic defender. At 26, Giannakos still has plenty time left in his career to grow and develop, hence why you may hear more about him in future World Cups. He gave away a penalty against Xanneria in a 4-3 loss in the last cycle and gained a red card for it, so you may see less of him as more talented players rise through the ranks.

David Xeniadis - A decent defender who was the youngest player in the National Team at WC84, Xeniadis - who is now 22 - has certainly solidified as a defender since he gained his first international cap as an 18 year old.

Manousos Athanas - A fantastic wing back with more pace than sense, Athanas has been known to race past opposition midfielders and defenders with a smirk on his face and his few brain cells rattling about in his head. Now 27, Athanas is yet to peak, with his pace seemingly increasing each year.

Kimon Karalas - A midfield maestro who is great at crosses and corners, Karalas is a player who could impress many at this World Cup. His ability to pass the ball is one that has bamboozled many opposition players before, and the 25-year-old has been known to perform skill moves such as the rainbow flick and McGeady spin relatively often, which is odd for a central midfielder. Goals aren’t uncommon for this lad either, as he bagged 4 in 29 appearances during the last cycle.

Vangelis Mavroglou - A central defensive midfielder, who takes the ‘defensive’ part of his position very seriously, Mavroglou has been a centrepiece in the Vdaran midfield. The 28-year-old isn’t exactly fast, but he makes up for it with his incredible bursts of adrenalin which only seem to pop up when it seems destined that the opposition are going to score.

Anargyros Stamatelis - Not much is known about this midfielder, but he is quite good. Performing decently at the last World Cup, the 27-year-old has shown critics that he is more than just an average midfielder, at least by Vdaran standards. A decent crosser, Stamatelis usually sits back in the midfield when people go forward, and he’s wary of counter attacks.

Chirstoforos Lazelis - A young, quick striker who can zoom past defenders faster than every other player in this squad, Lazelis rose through the Vdaran football pyramid straight from the Gamma League to the Alpha League following the 22-year-old’s incredible performances in the 4th tier. With an incredible 35 goals in 29 games for Vdara in the WC85 qualifiers and the last Cup of Harmony, Lazelis is ready to impress yet again.

Nik Cosmidis - Young, and scores goals. Not the most interesting of players, but he does play in Taeshan, so the 17-year-old does have that going for him.

Alexis Fotellis - Most famous for his ongoing feud which had both of his boots ending up in the face of Nate Ellis of Hapilopper, this striker is better at shooting than he is running, being more used to receiving crosses and passes while he’s inside the box. Now 38, Fotellis may not have much longer to play in the National Team, with younger players - such as Nik Cosmidis and Andrianos Petras - rising through the ranks. He scored 10 goals in the WC85 Qualifiers, second only to Chirstoforos Lazelis.

Lineup 2:

Zaharias Frangoglou - A product of the national team’s recent dive into forming their own academy rather than snatching their players from established sides, 16-year-old Zaharias has impressed many with his reflexes and diving ability, and at 6’4” he towers over most of his teammates. In the last Sporting World Cup, Frangoglou saved two penalties in the final which gave Vdara their first ever trophy - even if it was just a youth tournament.

Anargyros Zerveas - Following Vdara’s disappointing last place finish in Sporting World Cup 10, Anargyros earned himself a move to Taeshan in an attempt to prove that he was in fact still a solid player with great potential. The move boosted his confidence and helped him grow as a player, and at 18 he ended up being an integral part of the Vdaran defence during Sporting World Cup 11.

Trifonas Tolakis - Cool names are an oddly effective way of making your way into one of the national team, and Trifonas Tolakis has managed to capitalise on that opportunity fully. Another product of the national team’s academy, the youth scouts predict that he’ll go far, and that commentators will enjoy saying this 16-year-old’s name out loud.

Stamatios Christakos - How many academy graduates can you have in one squad? The answer is six, and Stamatios is the third one in this list. This lad has never skipped leg day, and could probably crush a watermelon with his thighs - if he could be bothered. The 17-year-old’s sheer strength allows him to make great tackles and clearances, all while striking fear into more scrawny opponents.

Akakios Demotis - Here’s another player who moved to Taeshan after a disastrous performance in SWC 10. Amazingly, his move to Taeshan at 16 helped him a lot, and at 18 he was an integral part of the midfield duo which dominated games at times during SWC11.

Lambros Tantalopoulos - What do you know, it’s academy graduate number four, and the second of the midfield duo! As the name implies, Lambros is quite pacey, which is quite odd for a central-defensive midfielder. However, this helps him be a deadly force in counter attacks, and he also helps maintain the 2-man midfield with Akakios Demotis. After an amazing performance in the Sporting World Cup in which he scored a hat trick against Megistos to send Vdara to the finals, at 16 years old he earned himself a move to the Walstreim Lions in South Newlandia for an academy-record $350,000!

Alkiviadis Manolakis - A fantastic performance in the last Sporting World Cup from this 18-year-old has showed that Manolakis has the potential to break into the senior team. He’s got pace and passing ability, which he used to his and the squad’s advantage during the team’s trophy-winning performances.

Themistoklis Muleas - Not the most standout player in the squad, but definitely not a bad one. He is overshadowed by most of the other attackers - and other players in the squad - but the 18-year-old is still definitely one to watch during this tournament.

Andrianos Petras - Following the advancement of Nik Cosmidis to the first team, Petras was called up from the Academy to replace him. This worked amazingly well, as the 16-year-old scored goal after goal after goal during Vdara’s SWC 11 adventure. Keep your eyes on this one!

Mathaios Makrotsis - The last academy graduate of this lineup, Makrotsis will be looking to perfect his abilities in this tournament. At the very young age of 15, Makrotsis has plenty time to perfect his abilities at his new club in Quebec - and he has a winners’ medal from the last SWC.

Manousos Scafididis - Last but not least, we have Manousos Scafididis. Yet another remnant of the Sporting World Cup 10 squad, Manousos has been looking to improve ever since. Amazingly, he has, and his pace and agility have only gotten better with time. He showed this in Sporting World Cup 11, where he whipped in cross after cross, and used his skills and quick feet to score quite a few goals, all at the age of 18.

Southern Palm Islands is an island country located in Melayu Archipelago. It is also known as Palm Islands or SPI. In ancient time, it was part of the Sripala Kingdom alongside Eraman (Northern Palm Islands), Sharktail (Western Palm Islands) and Pemecutan (Eastern Palm Islands).

The Southern Palm Islands was then used as a trading post for Malayalee traders from Indusse. The trading post grew so big over time until the Malayalee outnumbered the native Austronesians in the islands. It is now the only Malayalee-majority nation in Melayu Archipelago.

Southern Palm Islands Football Association (SPIFA) is the main organization behind the development of football in Southern Palm Islands. The SPIFA is one of the emerging nations in Melayu Archipelago. With the success of Eraman and Sharktail in international level, SPIFA finally decided to send the national team to compete with the rest of the world.

The Tranquil Isles of Riena
First-team squad for World Cup 86 (Qualifiers)

For opponents
I give my opponents permission to roleplay anything within reason, save for cycle- or career-ending injury and death of my players. If you think a particular event may be too unrealistic or outlandish, feel free to contact me either via telegram or Discord to discuss. You can also contact me if you need me to furnish further details for your roleplay.

Please do not roleplay anything pandemic-related in relation to Riena or Riennese characters. I will not be recognising the existence of any pandemic in any form whatsoever.

Please also note that I will usually update my records for the Riena national team in the hours following a scorination. I would appreciate it if you could take a minute to check here for the Riena starting XI, goalscorers, and substitutions before beginning work on your posts. In the event that I have not gotten around to updating the records, feel free to roleplay the match as you see fit - given the brand of fluid football Riena plays, as well as the versatility of Riennese players in general - you have a lot of scope to be creative with just about anything football-related!

For hosts
Please apply a style modifier of +4 - thank you.

Players listed in orange are starters in their respective positions. All statistics are accurate as of the start of this tournament.

1 • Miho MINATO
Goalkeeper; 22; 50 caps; 9 clean sheets

A steady and reliable shot-stopper, Minato is a physically imposing presence in goal. She is not a flamboyant technician and dislikes taking unnecessary risks with the ball, preferring to quickly recycle possession into her defenders or midfielders. Owing to her physical advantage, Minato is a goalkeeper who is not afraid to take charge in her own area, often taking it upon herself to catch or punch crosses into the six-yard box instead of leaving her defenders to sweep up the danger. Blessed with sharp reflexes, decent positioning, and a proactive approach to goalkeeping - especially in her own six-yard box - Minato is a calming presence behind her defenders.

25 • Subaru KUGIMIYA
Goalkeeper; 21; 8 caps; 1 clean sheet

Kugimiya is an aggressive sweeper keeper who is not afraid to help out her defenders whenever the side are caught in possession. She possesses the requisite pace and technical ability to thrive in a Riena team placing great demands on its goalkeeper's footwork. Her game revolves around shutting down opposition counterattacks using her anticipation and speed off her line, allowing the team's to adopt a higher defensive line than would otherwise be possible, and initiating attacking moves with accurate long range distribution, bypassing high pressing manoeuvres by the opposition. The high risk, high reward nature of her play style means that Kugimiya is more susceptible to committing high-profile errors and mistakes, and she can be prone to catastrophic lapses of concentration. Can be equally capable of the sublime or the farcical.

50 • Maya SHIINA
Goalkeeper; 19; 1 cap; 0 clean sheets

Shiina is a youth-team goalkeeper, and the most callow of Riena's current batch of goalkeepers. She is a good reflexive shot-stopper, but her game remains riddled with the flaws and deficiencies that one would expect from a player in the infancy of her international career, but she is a promising prospect who may well develop into a decent senior-level goalkeeper - if she manages to supplant both Minato and Kugimiya for a spot in the starting XI.

3 • Kaede IGARASHI • Vice-captain
Left-back/left wing-back; 21; 43 caps; 9 goals

The vice-captain of the team, Igarashi is a powerful, athletic left-back who can be relied upon to do her primary job of defending well. She is a largely conventional full-back, an atypical departure from Riena's abundance of suicidally-attacking wing-backs/wingers, who is actually better at keeping the ball away from her own goal than she is at forcing it home at the other end. While she is not nearly as adventurous as Uruha is, Igarashi still contributes to Riena's attacking play - she is the best crosser in the team, and her ability to strike a ball cleanly has earned her a reputation as one of Riena's set-piece specialists. Especially dangerous from free-kicks, and can be expected to go for goal more often than not. Firmly established as one of the leaders and stalwarts of this youthful team.

4 • Minami KAGURA
Right-back/right wing-back; 22; 44 caps; 2 goals

Kagura is a canny full-back who focuses on providing service from out on her flank. She is not as offensively-minded as a typical Riennese full-back, usually preferring to stay deep as part of a three-player defensive line whenever Riena are moving forward with the ball, but remains a useful option when the team are in possession due to her willingness to make lung-busting supporting runs down the right. When on the ball, she tends to eschew overplaying in the final third, preferring instead to head for the touchline and deliver crosses and cutbacks into the area. Mental fortitude is perhaps not one of her strengths, and question marks remain over Kagura's temperament and ability to stay calm under pressure after she skied the decisive penalty against Mavinet in the BoF semifinals.

6 • Yui NARITA
Central defender/defensive midfielder; 24; 27 caps; 1 goal

An elegant ball-playing central defender who is equally at home in midfield as she is in defence, Narita's main strength lies in her accurate distribution from defence. Comfortable under pressure, her distribution from deep within the defensive third is a potent weapon, especially against opposition seeking to press the team high up the pitch. Narita's ability to play in midfield also allows her to move forwards and give Riena an extra player in the middle of the park, which is always an option when the team finds itself struggling to maintain control against inferior opposition. Defensively, she can be quite vulnerable; a particular weakness is her lack of dominance in the air, which often leads to opposition attempting to target her ahead of her central defensive partner. However, her pace and progressive passing makes her an effective option in the heart of a back three, and she can fill in at the base of the midfield if necessary.

15 • Mana AMEMIYA
Central defender; 23; 51 caps; 2 goals

Amemiya is a solid, uncompromising option in central defence, usually playing the foil to more technically accomplished defenders alongside her. A robust, physically imposing defender, she is particularly strong in the air and in the tackle. While perhaps not as technically gifted as a typical Riennese player, Amemiya makes up for her technical shortcomings by adding a touch of grit and steel to complement her teammates' comparatively adventurous play. Another area in which she excels is in her instinctive reading of the game, often allowing her to be in the right place at the right time to snuff out opposition attacks at source. Amemiya can be a little slow off the mark, but she more than makes up for it with her excellent positional sense.

18 • Kano URUHA
Left-back/left wing-back/left winger; 22; 36 caps; 2 goals

A repurposed winger, Uruha is a pacy left-back whose marauding runs provide Riena with an attacking outlet down the left flank. Despite nominally being a defender, her natural attacking instincts mean that she is often effectively deployed as a wing-back, or an auxiliary winger, rather than a conventional defender. She possesses neither strength, height, or defensive nous, and has an unfortunate tendency to lose concentration when targeted. From an attacking perspective, Uruha is an accomplished dribbler who favours cutting infield with the ball to make space on the flank for her winger. Her finishing is above average for a defender, especially when she has the ball on her favoured left foot, and she is not averse to hitting speculative efforts from range.

28 • Hinata YUKIHANA
Right-back/right wing-back/central defender; 19; 6 caps; 1 goal

A versatile player capable of playing anywhere on the right side of the Riena defence, Yukihana is a steady and reliable defender with a maturity belying her tender years. While she is on the shorter side for a defender, Yukihana has the strength and athleticism to play as the right-sided central defender in a back three. From an attacking perspective, Yukihana is a willing runner, and will often bomb ahead to support the Riena attack when played in her favoured right-back position. She will serve as Kagura's understudy for this cycle, but may well make the right-back spot her own ahead of her stagnating senior - and to that end, will be given her fair share of minutes to help her development.

30 • Mao TSUKAMOTO
Central defender/right-back/defensive midfielder; 22; 45 caps; 4 goals

A no-nonsense defender with a surprising eye for a pass, Tsukamoto was once the bridesmaid to her flashy senior Narita, but a series of excellent performances during Riena's Baptism of Fire campaign has allowed Tsukamoto to overtake Narita as first-choice central defender alongside Mana Amemiya. A strong, physical defender in the mould of her central defensive partner Amemiya, Tsukamoto will be expected to bring more solidity to the Riena defence than the relatively lightweight Narita. She is a potent threat at set-pieces and is someone whom opposing defenders should keep an eye on whenever she ventures upfield to attack a dead ball.

5 • Hijiri SAKURANAMI
Central midfielder; 24; 36 caps; 1 goals; Mashu Hellownia (Hinodejin Empire)

Sakuranami is a powerful, tenacious wolfhound of a midfielder who is excellent at defending, pressing, and recycling possession. Originally a defensive anchor player, Sakuranami transitioned to a box-to-box role during Riena's BoF campaign, and has truly made the niche her own. From an attacking perspective, Sakuranami tends to arrive late in the area when Riena are on the attack, providing an additional offensive option for the team and potentially causing chaos in the opposition defence. She is not the most precise finisher in the team, but Sakuranami has a powerful shot on her, and will not hesitate to take aim from long range whenever given the chance to do so. While she has managed to improve her attacking game to fill the demands of her new role, Sakuranami remains adept at the defensive side of the game. There is nothing she enjoys more than a well-timed interception or a crunching tackle, and she is perhaps most infamous for her willingness to commit blatantly cynical challenges to break up play as necessary.

7 • Mishiro KAWAKAZE
Defensive midfielder/central midfielder; 22; 34 caps; 1 goal

A hard-running midfielder who is sometimes unfairly characterised as a water carrier or a jack-of-all-trades. Kawakaze's reputation for being a tenacious player who puts in the hard yards perhaps undersells her a little; she is a tough-tackling defensive midfielder who can do just about everything to a decent standard, including, somewhat surprisingly, putting the ball in the back of the net. While Riena do have specialists who can do specific aspects of Kawakaze's job better, the central midfielder is perhaps the best all-round player currently in the Riennese ranks. But at the same time, Kawakaze is also a victim of her own versatility, having thus far failed to nail down a starting spot ahead of her contemporaries. She may well mature to become part of Riena's first-choice midfield in time, but for now, expect to see her plugged in wherever a hole needs to be urgently filled.

8 • Tomoe ISHIBASHI
Central midfielder; 23; 28 caps; 1 goal

The playmaking metronome that keeps the team ticking over. Most of the team's build-up play goes through the languid, silky Ishibashi, who is accomplished at dictating play and controlling a game's tempo from midfield. Ishibashi's laid back style makes her a convenient target for accusations of laziness, but her undeniable ability in possession has helped her secure a spot in this Riena squad. Capable of a wide range of passing, whether it be simple square passes, fizzed crossfield attempts, or chipped through balls, Ishibashi has a keen eye for the defence-splitting pass, an attribute which dovetails well with the speed and attacking flair of Riena's forwards. Ishibashi tends to suffer from bouts of positional indiscipline, often drifting forwards into advanced positions as a game wears on. Her advanced presence can either leave yawning gaps in the midfield for savvy opponents to exploit, or allow Riena to overwhelm less tactically aware opposition. Likely to start or to be brought on whenever Riena needs a creative spark against deep-lying opponents.

10 • Aya NAKIRI • Captain
Central midfielder/attacking midfielder/center forward; 22; 43 caps; 16 goals

Perhaps the most threatening weapon in Riena's armoury, and the player most likely to create a moment of magic out of nothing. Nakiri is nominally a central midfielder, but her play style means that she is often either dropping into the hole to link up midfield and attack, or playing off the center forward's shoulder. An unerring eye for goal, a penchant for direct and effective running, as well as an excellent range of passing, means that Nakiri poses a threat to the opposition goal whenever she is given time and space on the ball. Has a fondness for the spectacular; opportunistic efforts from outside the box are a particular favourite. Despite her attacking prowess, Nakiri can be marked out of a game by an attentive defender with the pace to keep up with her. Adept in the high energy pressing style favoured by Riena, she possesses a high work rate and good stamina, and when interchanging with her center forward, is often the first line of defence for the team. One potential weakness is her inability to dovetail well with her teammates in the team's preferred 4-3-3 formation. Manager Kanata Shiranami rejigged her midfield to accommodate her most naturally talented attacker, but Nakiri's presence, or lack thereof, in midfield, still has the potential to cause severe balance issues for the team, and as a result she can be a tactical weak link that well-coached opponents may look to target.

12 • Sara KIRIMIYA
Defensive midfielder/central midfielder; 20; 45 caps; 3 goals

Kirimiya is an accomplished holding midfielder who understands that her job is to defend, and she does it exceptionally well. Although she is nominally a midfielder, she is perhaps the purest defensive player in this Riena roster. Kirimiya generally plays in a screening role in front of the defence, covering for her less-defensively inclined colleagues so that the they can focus on attacking the opposition third without worrying about leaving the team short at the back. As would be expected for a holding midfielder, Kirimiya has the positional intelligence and discipline necessary for her role, using those key attributes to break up play in midfield and quickly recycle possession to her more creative colleagues. While she is fairly decent at tackling, Kirimiya has a tendency to dive in when challenging for the ball, and has a particular preference for sliding tackles - a trait that a more unscrupulous opponent may look to exploit. Has developed a taste for booming long range rockets, though still more likely to find the stands than the back of the net.

18 • Meru MATSUKAI
Attacking midfielder/winger; 22; 35 caps; 5 goals

Matsukai is a mercurial, effervescent creative midfielder whose favoured position is in the hole, just behind her striker, but she is equally adept at playing wide out on both wings. A purer creative presence than Nakiri, she can be an option for Riena whenever they are playing against massed defences, but given Riena's abundance of attacking talent, Matsukai is generally regarded as an impact sub who can be deployed late on against flagging opponents to provide a spark for Riena. If playing on the wing, Matsukai favours cutting infield, narrowing the team's play, which can be problematic when Riena are up against a team who defend narrowly.

27 • Arisu MANO
Central midfielder; 19; 4 caps; 1 goal

Mano is an attacking-minded central midfielder who relies on her dribbling and turn of pace to break opposition lines. An energetic, enthusiastic presence in midfield, she differs from a typical Riennese midfielder in that she prefers to run with the ball and take on opposition defenders whenever afforded the opportunity to do so. Mano is very much untested on the multiversal stage, but she is expected to provide a unique tactical option off the bench for this cycle. Has the potential to play an important role as an impact sub against massed defences.

9 • Rion KANZAKI
Center forward; 22; 45 caps; 19 goals; Pascal Mashu (Hinodejin Empire)

A powerful, dominant center forward, Kanzaki is the perfect foil for the technically talented attackers in the team. Kanzaki's physical presence in the opposition penalty area often causes chaos in the ranks of opposition defenders, allowing her teammates to profit in the resulting confusion. She is a highly accomplished target man who is in her element when scoring, whether it be sweeping loose balls home from close range or sending goalkeepers sprawling with thirty-yard rockets. While comfortable scoring goals on her own, Kanzaki is also proficient at holding the ball up when receiving possession from deep, which creates opportunities for her teammates to make supporting runs beyond her. Her natural athleticism, strength, and goalscoring instincts make Kanzaki an effective spearhead of the Riena attack.

17 • Flare STEINER
Right winger/center forward; 22; 44 caps; 18 goals

Steiner, one of Riena's key attacking outlets, is a technically skillful winger with a dizzying turn of pace that allows her to leave flat-footed opponents for dead. What she brings to the table is a repertoire of attacking skills that help her create an abundance of goalscoring opportunities for her teammates, not least her ability to put the ball on a plate for her teammates to score. Steiner is a proficient dribbler who enjoys nothing more than tying defenders into knots, and will attempt to trick her way right into the opposition area if given the chance to do so. She is a player for the big stage, and tends to turn in her best performances against superior opposition. Once viewed as a profligate finisher, Steiner has matured into a prolific goalscorer, and is now one of the deadlier forwards in the team from a shooting position. Can play as part of a front two alongside a physically dominant forward partner.

20 • Cocoa HANEDA
Left winger; 20; 30 caps; 13 goals

Formerly an untested winger from the Riennese youth development programme, Haneda was drafted into the senior squad as one of the programme's top prospects, but first-choice Tsumugi Suenaga's drop in form afforded her the opportunity to play her way into the starting XI. Defying all expectations, Haneda delivered a string of excellent performances as her goals and assists propelled Riena to third place in their WCQ group, and as a result she has firmly entrenched herself as manager Kanata Shiranami's first choice out on the left wing. A direct, hard-running winger with explosive pace and a sweet left foot, Haneda has a slight frame, but makes up for her physical shortcomings with a composure and presence of mind belying her years, attributes that play well with her penchant for penetrating running and clinical finishing. A quiet player who lets her football do the talking.

21 • Rinze AYANAMI
Right winger; 21; 18 caps; 7 goals

Similarly to Haneda, Ayanami received her senior call-up by virtue of being one of the most promising talents in the Riennese youth development programme. She did not rise to prominence in the same way Haneda did, mainly because of Flare Steiner's consistently excellent displays on the right wing, but Ayanami was afforded valuable game time throughout WCQ85 as part of the team's rotation policy, and she is widely considered to have the footballing chops to develop into a strong contender for a starting spot in the cycles to come. In terms of playing style, Ayanami is a creative winger who is more of a playmaker out on the flank rather than an attacking outlet. She possesses the physical attributes to thrive as an orthodox winger, but she prefers to set up her teammates rather than go for goal herself. Ayanami remains the second choice right winger behind Steiner for this cycle, but she has firmly established herself as a valuable squad option, and will provide stiff competition for the incumbent.

24 • Towa AMATSUKA
Center forward/right winger; 20; 4 caps; 1 goal

A highly physical, hard-pressing forward who is not afraid to get stuck in, Amatsuka embraces the more agricultural aspects of the game in their entirety. She is a support-oriented target man whose primary role is to hold the ball up in support of Riena's attacking play, and is also the team's first line of defence with her tireless pressing of opposition defenders. Deceptively quick despite her build, but her finishing ability with her feet leaves a lot to be desired - for now.

26 • Hareru MIYANO
Left winger; 18; 5 caps; 1 goal

An inverted winger playing on the left, Miyano is a technical player with a repertoire of dribbling skills under her belt and the pace to match. However, her youth means that she is still a raw diamond, and she struggles to perform consistently at a high level, with a lack of end product a particular weakness. Despite her many obvious shortcomings, Miyano's selection in this Riena squad represents an opportunity for her to develop and make an impression on the coaching staff. She is unlikely to be thrown into the deep end for this cycle, but will be given playing time whenever the situation allows to aid her development and integration into the team.

KS • Kanata SHIRANAMI
Manager; 26; 26 wins, 13 draws, 14 losses; 127 GF 91 GA; +36 GD

Kanata Shiranami is slowly making a name for herself as a talented manager. Leading a squad of young, hopelessly callow players sourced from the Riena FA's elite talent development programme, she managed to eke out a fourth-placed finish at the Baptism of Fire, losing to the eventual champions Mavinet on penalties in the semifinals before tasting defeat in the third-place playoff against Tequilo. But Riena's strong performance at the Baptism was only a taster of what was to come in the World Cup. Drawn into a relatively strong Group 14, Shiranami guided her unfancied team to an improbable charge for qualification, sending even the most pessimistic Riennese fans into raptures with a string of positive results against storied footballing names such as Newmanistan and Krytenia. The crowning moment of Shiranami's short tenure as manager came on the penultimate matchday of WC85 qualifying, when her Riena side comprehensively defeated Vilita, the multiverse's finest team, by three goals to nil, an achievement only slightly undercut by Qasden gaining a point on the same matchday to qualify at the expense of the Wavelets. Under Shiranami's astute stewardship, Riena went unbeaten throughout the group stages of CoH 77, before being eliminated by Kandorith in the first knockout stage.

Shiranami's record in the Campionato Esportiva, however, has been less than stellar. Playing on home soil as the hosts of CE 27, Riena were amongst the first teams to be eliminated in the group stages after successive defeats to Vdara and Ancherion in their first two matches, the latter loss in particular casting a harsh light on the team's defensive inadequacies. Riena's 3-1 defeat of San Jose Guayabal in a meaningless dead rubber did little to silence Shiranami's critics, and improbable though it may seem, the manager who led Riena to the verge of qualifying for the World Cup finals is perhaps under the most pressure she has ever been in her nascent career. As a fourth seed in these World Cup qualifiers, the minimum expectation will be for Shiranami to oversee a sustained challenge for qualification. Anything less than that, and she may well find her position in serious jeopardy.

Overview
Riena will tend to set up in a highly fluid 4-3-3/4-2-3-1 formation, but they are also adept at playing 3-4-3 and 3-5-2 when the situation necessitates it. The team can and will rapidly transition between different formations when necessary, and Riena's players will, in general, be given freedom to roam from their assigned position as well as exchange positions with other players. The team's physical shortcomings means they will tend to play the ball short on the ground rather than looking to go long when in possession - a notable exception is in the final third, where the comparatively more physical forwards provide a useful focal point for crosses. In attack, the team will look to move the ball vertically at speed, but will also be content to patiently probe the opposition defence if there are no immediate openings. Riena is particularly reliant on the wingers in attack, and if the opposition manages to stifle Riena's wing play, they will inevitably be muzzled as an attacking threat. In defence, Riena uses a high defensive line and will try to make use of offside traps. Zonal marking is preferred at corners and free kicks.

Stadia
The Riena national team play their football matches at the Wavelet Arena, in the capital city of Nagato. The pitch dimensions are short, but wide, by multiversal standards for football pitches, facilitating wider play on the flanks. The pitch itself is usually well-watered and slick, allowing the ball to travel at speed across the natural grass surface. For teams who prefer a spot of beach football, Riena's original national sport, Riena maintains the Radiant Sands Arena, also in Nagato, with the same pitch dimensions as the Wavelet Arena, but with a sand surface instead. Riena will usually default to the Wavelet Arena, but opponents are free to specify a stadium preference if they wish to do so.

For the second half of qualifying for World Cup 86 (i.e. starting from matchday 10), Riena will play its home matches at the Radiant Sands Arena.

Set-piece assignments

The following set piece assignments are listed in order of priority. Positions are indicated relative to the opposition goal. NOTE TO THOSE RPING A GAME VERUS XANERRIA

Xannerian Football is played differently than most countries. For one it is hyper offensive with most teams using either 4 or 5 forwards who run directly at the goal with balls being passed only when necessary. Defense is even more alarmingly different as Xanneria RARELY calls penelties on diving (unless injuries occur) and its actually common for players to attempt to bump other players out of the way, granted this is also heavily moderated (Shoving a player with your hands is a penalty and shoving a player perpendicular to you is also a penalty). International players are trying to surpress excessive brutality, but sometimes in the heat of the game they forget. So feel free to have some of my players get Yellow carded for aggressive play.

Imagine there is an offensively huge, garish logo atop this post.

Team name: Græntfjall
TLA: GRÆ [GRF when not available]
Demonym: Græntfjaller
Team nickname: Snow Wolves

Kit: Blue with white piping; alternate is the reverse; GK wears red. Because all Græntfjaller names are patronymic, players typically have their first name on the backs of their shirts.

Coach: Sigtryggur Brynjólfursson
Assistant coach: Særún Toresdóttir

Criticized for being too negative and defensive, for lacking creativity, for depending on ageing stalwarts: Sigtryggur and Særún weathered the slating their coaching methods received, and took the ‘Gray Wolves’ team to a Baptism of Fire victory. As such, expect them to double down on their defensive formations and substitutions, pulling attacking players for CBs and DMs whenever they take a lead. Neither is an animated touchline presence, and they’ll be respectful to officials and opponents.

Squad: A 23-person squad has been named for the tournament, although in practice those numbered 1-11 should be expected to start unless otherwise stated. Squad update #4: The number 10 will not be used during Dannysdóttir’s injury absence.
  • The Græntfjaller Premier League is gender-mixed and it is seen as uncontroversial for men and women to play alongside each other. If you find this unrealistic you are welcome to RP surprised reaction [although given the general state of NS Sports it would surely be not too much of an outlier] but it won’t be something we dwell on. -son names are men, -dóttir names women.
  • The Baptism of Fire winning side was all-male owing to the concurrent Olympics, but several women have now returned to the national team.
  • Football isn’t a millionaire’s game in Græntfjall yet. Players earn a decent wage in the GPL but rarely more than that; the most expensive foreign transfer signings have been six, not seven, figures NS$.
  • In general, Græntfjaller players are athletic and have excellent whole-match fitness, disciplined, and not prone to violence or emotional outbursts. They are, however, not tremendously skilled.
  • Timing note: I am RPing this tournament as occurring during the next season of the GPL. By the end of qualification, players will be 1 year older than their listed age here.

Goalkeepers

1. Alexander Leonardsson (31) – Image Gunzlach (caps: 15)
12. Fabian Snæþórsson (25) – [GLZ] Drumchapel United
13. Björnólfur Ernestisson (18) – [ZRH] AK Stanimir

Alexander is a tall and basically competent, if not spectacularly agile, presence in goal who has kept in every start for Græntfjall so far, and can be expected to continue to wear the #1 jersey. His strengths are handling aerial balls and managing his defensive lines at set pieces and crosses; he also has a cannon of a boot for hoofing the ball upfield and a powerful through. His weaknesses are a vulnerability in one-on-one situations; he has also has poor footballing skills and can’t be relied on when ‘playing it out from the back’, although it should be noted this tactic is much less common in general in the GPL and won’t be frequently employed by the Snow Wolves. His young reserves are dependable but untested; Björnólfur kept fairly well during the Olympics but isn’t ready for full internationals.

Defenders

2. Ralf Álfarsson (35) – Image Folte (14)
3. 14. Else Svennsdóttir (25) – Image Gunzlach (6)
4. Vilbjörn Hjörleifursson (37) – Image Molding (15, goals: 1)
5. Emeli Vilbertsdóttir (22) – Image Folte (5)
14. 3. Karoline Vernerisdóttir (28) – Image Molding (1)
15. 4. Hilmar Farmansson (29) – [ZRH] Platinastigrade (3)
16. Ásgautur Johannesson (30) – Image Altendalur (3)
18. Hjörleifur Reynarsson (24) – Image Steinaux
15. Tom Ernestisson (21) – Image Altendalur

The defense, indeed the whole team, is built around the two big, tall, strong – and utterly immobile – center backs. Though both Ralf and Vilbjörn provide good heading options at attacking corners and free-kicks, they’re just too slow and vulnerable to being beaten on the counter-attack to risk often venturing upfield. Both are solid in defense, especially at dealing with aerial threats, but speed is an issue and the younger Hilmar and Hjörleifur could see plenty of playing time off the bench. By contrast, Else and Emeli are smaller, speedy full-backs, able to push up as wing-backs. Karoline can fill a similar role on either side; Ásgautur is exclusively a left-back, quick and eager to provide crosses but a bit defensively suspect.

Squad update #1: Vernerisdóttir will start at RB ahead of Svennsdóttir.

Squad update #6: Hjörleifursson retired at the end of the group stage. He is replaced in the squad by Ernestisson, while either Farmansson or Reynarsson will start in his place.

Midfielders

6. Amanda Guttisdóttir (20) – Image Old Boys Club (6)
7. Hrærekur Jvarsson (29) – Image Steinaux (10, 5)
8. 17. Andrin Franklínsson (32) – Image Altendalur (9, 3)
11. Matthias Raphaelsson (20) – [SYL] Avondale Beach SC (6, 1)
17. 8. Bríana Noahsdóttir (23) – Image Steinaux (6, 1)
19. Álfar Ásvaldursson (23) – Image Mühlrich (6)
20. Kalle Bjørnsson (27) – Image Oost-Hartburg (7)
21. Ketilbjörg Aunosdóttir (31) – Image Korsbach (3, 1)
19. Hlégestur Snæþórsson (30) – Image Steinaux (9, 1)

The midfield churn continues as Græntfjall once more rings the changes – or, most of them. The big winner from the Baptism of Fire was Andrin, the standout player (until he was sent off in the final). He keeps his place on the right ahead of Bríana. On the left, Hlégestur Snæþórsson is unavailable through injury, but might have lost his place anyway, allowing Matthias Raphaelsson to return. While Andrin is more of a true wing player, Matthias likes to cut inside, giving the overall midfield shape an asymmetric shape. Amanda gets another chance to prove the promise she’s supposedly shown, but the truth is she hasn’t ever scored, wasn’t able to lead the women’s team to the Olympic playoffs, and saw the team triumph in the BoF without her. There are increasing whispers she’s at best undersized for international football, at worst overrated. She will play ahead of Hrærekur Jvarsson, who had a strong BoF campaign beset by fitness concerns. His goals reflect an ability to be in the right place at the right time – assuming he’s not puffed – rather than any particular degree of individual skill. Though the starting formation will operate without a true defensive midfielder, there are three on the bench to provide additional numbers should the team shift to a more defensive formation. The experiment with 16 year old wunderkind Sara Kristoffersdóttir has for the moment been shelved to give her more domestic experience.

Squad update #2: Hlégestur Snæþórsson has returned from injury and will replace Álfar Ásvaldursson in the squad.

Squad update #5: Bríana Noahsdóttir has regained her starting place ahead of Andrin Franklínsson.

Forwards

9. Jason Þórhallursson (20) – Image Gunzlach (7, 4)
10. Justiina Dannysdóttir (25) – Image Steinaux (3)
22. Dan Antoninsson (30) – Image Torbay Thunder (15, 2)
24. Love Nilsson (31) – Image Mühlrich (7, 4)
23. Lyngar Rögnvaldursson (26) – Image Hofvinger (3, 1)

Jason Þórhallursson, the only really skilled player in the team, returned to the national side with a hat-trick in the Baptism of Fire final in what sportswriters are calling “utter, utter wank”, but even those goals aren’t enough to quiet murmurs about his place. Should he be the starting 9, steadfastly refusing to lope back in support, as he was during his ineffective Copa Rushmori stint? Or an impact sub off the bench, as he was in his successful finals appearance? For now, Sigtryggur is back to starting him, but Love Nilsson may still have a chance of returning to the team. Dan, ineffective in the 10 role, loses his place to Justiina, a similar kind of player – a supporting second forward, without Dan’s ability in the air but possessing a bit more pace.

Squad update #3: Love Nilsson has been dropped and Lyngar Rögnvaldursson called up as a replacement.

Squad update #4: Justiina Dannysdóttir's injury has led to her being removed from the squad, and Nilsson returning.

Style modifier: -2

The team will be about as defensive as usual, although the lack of a true DM opens up the midfield slightly. They play a 4-4-1-1 with an asymmetric midfield by default, but will shift to 4-5-1 or 5-4-1 if they take the lead late on. The team has proven effective at both attacking and defending set-pieces, and relies on these for scoring. The disciplinary record has generally been clean.

Squad update #4: The team will now start 4-1-4-1, with Ketilbjörg Aunosdóttir starting as a defensive midfielder behind Guttisdóttir and Jvarsson.

Home stadium

International football comes to Græntfjaller soil for the first time. The games will be played during the warmer part of the season so there shouldn’t be snow on the ground, but conditions will generally be cold with a possibility of rain. Græntfjaller’s terrain is mountainous and climate alpine. Græntfjallers are generally welcoming, if not the most gregarious of people; they are keen to make business deals and may be perceived as wanting to wring every last króna out of tourists. Small allocations of tickets for visiting fans will be available. You can RP fans coming to the country for games as you wish, but please do not RP acts of violence in Græntfjall without asking me first. Games will be played at the Grand National Arena in the capital city of Háttmark, home of the leading domestic side, Gunzlach. With a 50,000 seat capacity it is by some way the largest stadium in the country.

The home leg of the playoffs will be played at the Grander International Arena, a new stadium built by Steinaux. Also situated in north Háttmark and with a seating capacity of 50,001, it is a brand new stadium with high-tech design. The game will be one of the latest ever played in the Græntfjaller calendar and heavy snow may be expected, but under-pitch heating should make the field itself usable.

Postby Praeceptia » Mon Aug 24, 2020 10:57 am

Praeceptia’s Playing Style: Keep the enemy pinned back. Don’t let them maneuver. Take every chance you have to score. Use our upside down christmas tree formation to wash over our foes. They may bloody us, but we will press, press, press. If we use enough bodies and manpower, no one can defeat us. And if they do defeat us, it's because they're corrupt or cheating or something!

Formation: 1-2-3-4

Style Mod: +5

My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:
Choose my goalscorers: Yes
Godmod scoring events: Yes
RP injuries to my players: Yes, but cannot keep them out of next match
Godmod injuries to my players: No
Hand out yellow cards to my players: Yes
Hand out red cards to my players: No
Godmod other events: Ask me first

All matches in Praeceptia will take place during the summer. The temperatures are warm, but nothing to worry about on the field. Bring your swim suit!

Manager: FC-47
Football Coach #47 is an A.I. robot. He is made of the finest platinum that is shined daily. His red eyes might seem like too much, but he really does have a wonderful personality. Praeceptia has introduced him as the new coach in order to invigorate a somewhat lackluster team who suffered during Baptism of Fire 73. FC-47 is unafraid to tell players how he sees it, but also knows when to back off and not be so murderous. His primary programming is hunting down the problems and ending them before they can do damage to the team.

Goal Keeper/Captain: Muta “Mumu” Fortis, #1, 31y/o
Mumu plays as a star chimpanzee athlete on the all chimpanzee football/soccer team Clava Simia. Though he speaks no language, his actions on the field speak volumes.

Sweeper: Qui Pugnator, #22, 27y/o
With only 12 domestic league games under his belt, but over a decade of mixed martial arts experience under his three different black belts, Qui can be said to be in over his head. A mixed martial artist competing in professional football? Unheard of. Until now. Qui’s calm under pressure lends him to be a more tactical player, though his skills on the ball are lackluster. To make up for the bad touches and ugly passes is his incredible athletic ability. He never tires and never stops. He is Qui Pugnator.

Stopper: Fil “Crazy Face” Tzóouns, #2, 26y/o
“Crazy Face” cannot manage any normal style of defending. His attempts to stop the ball and opposing players consist of prostrating himself across the ground as he puts on his classic “Crazy Face.” Despite his complete lack of skill and agonizing absence of tactical knowledge, Tzóouns manages to play a game against any opponent. Unfortunately, no one is sure which game he is playing.

Stopper: Xysticus Grandis, #3, 23 y/o
Some call him MeatHead. Others call him Muscle Man (to the rescue!). Whatever your nickname for him, Grandis is probably the largest man you have ever seen in your life. He suffers from gigantism as well as an exercise addiction. His ambition is to be as big as his childhood hero, the Hulk. No one is sure what this has to do with football…

Left Midfielder: Varro Bibulus, #8, 22y/o
Debate rages on about Varro. Some say he is worthless and must be banned from the sport. Others say that Clava Leones Ignus cannot win without him. Whichever side you’re on, none can deny his ability to place a cross anywhere in the box. The real issue is his incessant drinking, as well as a lack of physical fitness. Often pundits are asking whether he can make it to the game sober, let alone finish out 45 minutes.

Central Midfielder: Shijō Saikō, #6, 20y/o
Shijō has such a different name because he is such a different person. He truly believes he is an anime character. No, we’re not kidding. His pre match warmup consists of six episodes of powering up to Super Shijō Blue!... At which point he dons his blue anime hair wig. Communicating with him is impossible, unless you are going to fight him and make him stronger. Otherwise you are better off meeting him on the field where his speed and agility do the talking.

Right Midfielder: Pellis Figulus, #13, 18y/o
The classic rags to riches story. Born to terrorist parents who would have seen the Iron Fist party overthrown, Pellis soon found himself an orphan after a police raid on his home to save him from such vile people. But, the young man had nothing. No food, no shelter, not even a pair of shoes. To make his way through life, he used the only skills he had: scrappy, hungry, sweaty football. He hustled and played for prize money until a scout wandering around a sports festival noticed his innate talent. Soon, Pellis Figulus was picked up for a professional contract. The rest is history.

Left Wing: Altus Noxium, #12, 22y/o
Most teams don’t like tall, lumbering wingers who run like a panicked giraffe on the serengeti. But Praeceptia is not most teams. They have selected their league’s tallest player, coming in at 7’2”, or over 2 meters, to take the charge on the wing. Combine this with his stick like frame and you almost have a cartoon of a man dribbling, crossing, and cutting in to shoot. His long legs lend him to causing chaos for teams who like to play out of the back, as well as forcing opposing players to take that extra step or two if they want to pick the ball off of him.

Striker: Supervacuas Fingit, #10, 23y/o
If cosmetic surgery had a face, it would be Fingit’s. In Praeceptia, he is known as the Plastic Man. His search for perfect beauty knows no bounds and he will not be stopped. Fingit’s only love, other than himself, is football. His skills have been a key factor in Clava Leones Ignus’s rise in the Praeceptian league. His unequaled looks translate into unequaled goal scoring capability. But don’t expect him to be of too much use in passing moves or defending. He really only cares about himself.

Striker: Aureum Tabernus, #9, 17y/o
How many chimps does it take to change a lightbulb? No one is sure. How many chimps does it take to score 19 goals in 28 games and be awarded the league’s golden boot? Only one. Tabernus rocked the league with his unprecedented dribbling ability, not to mention the simmering long shots he quickly became known for.

Right Wing: Arte Mediocris, #31, 31y/o
Have you ever wondered what your life would look like if everything you did was completely average? I’m not talking about the sad life you live now. I’m talking about if everything you did was average. All the good. All the bad. Everything. That is Arte Mediocris. He is the most average looking person you can think of. He has an average fitness level. He is an average football player. And everything about him averages out. The coaches love him for his averageness. He is so average that he is the most consistently average player in the league! Passing? Average, but average every game. Shooting? Average, but consistent every game. Do you see what I’m saying? He’s average and that’s why he’s good.

Substitutes

Goal Keeper: Juba Barba, #40, 42y/o
After 20 years in Praeceptia’s special forces operations, Barba has moved onto his next mission; football. Always an avid fan, Barba continued to keep up his skills when possible between long deployments. For the past three seasons, he has been the saving grace of Quod Calvaria, the Ossumastu based team. Despite his lack of distribution skills, Barba’s shot stopping and penalty saving rival Muta Fortis’s.

Stopper/Sweeper: Sum Dolor, #42, 33y/o
Can brains win over brawn? This extra-galactic physicist seems to think so! What she lacks in fitness, skills, or talent, Ms. Dolor more than makes up for it with her sharp mind. Her ability to analyze a moment in time is like no other in Praeceptia. Combine this with the boom of her voice and she makes quite the tactician. Much like Qui Pugnator, Ms. Dolor only has a handful of domestic games to her name, but her loud mouth on the field has caused more than a few headaches for the opposition.

Central Midfielder: Domina Ieiunium, #7, 26y/o
Though she is one of the only females on the team, Domina is among the best on the field. The ball often seems glued to her feet and her vision for finding a pass is unmatched. Of course, it also helps that she is under four feet tall and weighs less than 100 pounds, making any tackle towards her outright dangerous. She doesn’t mind, though, she’ll take the foul.

Striker: Vastata Vapidus Amet, #9, 16y/o
After his father’s disappearance following the Baptism of Fire, the youth-superstar has never been quite the same. He is always distracted, as if the emptiness of his missing parent was too much to bear. Despite this, he is still capable of turning on the gears and putting a few goals away. Don’t doubt that come game time, Amet will be locked on and ready to play.

Take a corner kick: Bibulus, Mediocris, Ieuinium
Take a penalty: Tabernus, Fingit, Figulus
Long and short free kicks: Bibulus, Figulus
Commit a foul: Tzoouns, Pugnator, Figulus
Draw a foul: Fingit, Noxium, Saiko
Score a header: Noxium, Fingit, Grandis
Score from distance: Tabernus, Figulus, Saiko
Score a special goal: Fingit, Noxium, Amet

Stadius ex Heroibus, The Stadium of Heroes
The Stadius ex Heroibus was completed in the months during our Baptism of Fire 73 run. Ever since then, we have been perfecting it for your every delight. The stadium's design spared no expense for the upcoming World Cup 86 qualifications. Here are the highlights of the grounds.

Seating
The stadium can fit over 100,000 fans. Each seat comes with a cupholder, usb charger ports, and even misters for those hot summer days. Fans can also pay a bit extra for various upgrades, including, but not limited to, box seating, lounge chair seating, microwaves under the seat, fold-out-television sets, stocked mini-fridges, and much, much more! Just, please, no infants, especially crying ones.

Amenities
Attached to the northern edge of the stadium is what we like to call Suitor's Strip, the site of some of our best attractions. Suitor's Strip rivals our largest malls and provides so much more entertainment than your average shopping area. Every restaurant is rated five-stars. Every gift shop sells only the highest quality items. And every employee is there to take care of your every whim!

The eastern complex is where most traveling fans will be staying. We have provided a five level underground parking garage, a 30 story hotel, and easy access to the stadium. To top it off, the airport is only five minutes away and our world class waterpark, Swim-Win-Inspire-Magical (S.W.I.M.), is just down the road!

To the south lays the Lake of Wonder where anyone can go to swim, fish, or enjoy the sun. Snorkeling equipment, jet-ski's, and other water sports gear can be checked out at the Lake's kiosk desk. Don't forget to bring your swimming suit!

Within the stadium walls are more than you would expect. We have a theater with three separate rooms, seven gaming lounges throughout the stadium, a day care center, a fully stocked wine cellar, a restaurant and bar complete with a mega-sized television from which to watch the game, and restaurants that each have their own theme, including Perry Hatter, King of the Crowns, Sun Wars, A Play of Thrones, and even Cretaceous Park.

Team Amenities
On the west side of the stadium are two identical complexes, one for the home team, one for the away team, both separated by over five acres of woodland. The complexes come with individual suites for each player, coach, and staff member in the private team hotel; training grounds with all necessary equipment; an olympic sized swimming pool; fully stocked gym; a running track; a spa; mini-theater; botanical garden; cafeteria, where all dietary needs are met; and even a gaming lounge where every console, personal computer, and handheld device can be played, each with all of the most popular games. We have pulled out all of the stops in order to provide the best experience possible for your team in Praeceptia! We have even thrown in a personal servant for each member of your team during their stay in our wonderful nation.

Construction Statistics
• Only 2,514 workers died during the construction of the stadium and surrounding complexes. A record low for a project of this size!
• A whopping $200,000 Oneros were paid out to servants during construction - yet another record broken for the lowest ever amount paid out to servants during the construction of a sports stadium
• Barely even 454 families were displaced to construct the Stadius ex Heroibus
• Over 1,000 unpaid servants are employed by the stadium, not even close to breaking the record of 16,978 by Macrohard Inc.
• The newly installed facial recognition software is some of the best in the country, only costing just over $27,000,000 Oneros

Stadium Home City
The Stadius ex Heroibus is located in the city of Magnextrus, one of the largest and most prosperous cities in Praecptia. Magnextrus is known for its moderate temperatures, beautiful coastline, and gorgeous mountains. During the summer it is common to go swimming and surfing at the beach, relax at one of the various tiki bars, or go for a hike through Mount Procerus. In the fall and winter, common activities are hunting on the nature preserve, unwinding in one of the many mountain cafés, or even seeing De Clava Sicario, Magnextrus’s home football team, play a game.

The main language spoken here is Praeceptian Latin, but English is also a required language for all citizens. All street signs, informational posters, and what not will have both languages for your convenience. Should you wish, you may learn Praeceptian Latin from our very own app, the Praeceptia Latin Unit Games, or P.L.U.G.

As required by law, all citizens, tourists, and other visitors must wear business attire when out in public. Everyone in public must also follow strict behavior regulations as defined by the Code of Moral Conduct, which can be found on our website or in any bookstore near you. It should be noted that child labor, unpaid servants, and AI (or robots as they are often called) are commonplace in Praeceptia. They are there for your convenience, but the limitations of their services can be found in the Code of Service Booklet. To avoid any difficulties with the police, please review our Code of Legal Behavior Manual. Please be aware that we have no jails or prisons. Instead, we use the Rapid Anti-Crime System, or R.A.C.S. to handle the minute number of criminals in Praeceptia. Should you consider committing a crime while visiting our beautiful country, be conscientious about potential R.A.C.S. punishments which can also be found in the aforementioned mentioned Manual. Should you find yourself in police custody, do not hesitate to contact your home representative. We have no courts and the R.A.C.S. system can be unforgiving towards visitors who do not follow the law.

Our travelling fans are known as ‘the Chimps.’ They are a polite crowd that will moderately roar and cheer for their team. They do not like to let loose and don’t enjoy terse or negative talk. On the other hand, get our team in the winning mood and the crowd will belt out some Chimp chants!

Roster of the Iles Rogieres for World Cup Qualifiers 1931/32

The Republic of Iles Rogières, or in English the Rogierian Isles (both names are acceptable) are an island nation in Atlantian Oceania. It is a small francophone country that has regularly been shaken by revolutions and civil conflicts over the last century, and is using international sport as a means for the country to heal its rifts. The Isles are rather poor, and they are technologically somewhat behind other countries - the time is currently 1931, and the year corresponds to the RL tech level available in the Islands. This makes football an extremely popular sport due to how accessible it is. Rogierian football is largely dominated by players from the lower classes of the country, and is focused on an individualistic style of play with a large emphasis on technique in the offence, and on harsh tackles in defence.

Its highest football league is currently undergoing professionalisation, and consists of ten teams. The league is fairly even, not the least because it has been almost entirely semiprofessional until recently, but its strongest teams are the two capital sides AS Port Azértien and Racing Club Azertien, Tout Puissant Port-de-Sud, and F.C. Troiseaux. Much of the national team comes from those four sides, who have been at the forefront of professionalisation and the only clubs in Iles Rogières with a professional structure already in place.

TEAM

A note on positions: As the Isles don’t use a modern formation, I am using the following position abbreviations: GK = goalkeeper, DF = defender, MF = central midfielders, LW/RW = wingers, IF = inside forwards (in this system, something between an offensive midfielder and a support striker, ST = striker.

Coach: Antoine Lemaître
Age: 48 // Coach since: BoF 73
Three-times Rogierian champion Antoine Lemaître has been chosen to run the national team, as he was one of the first ones to bring football tactics to the islands and is considered one of the most knowledgeable people about it. He has introduced the 3-2-5 system to the islands, the first regularly used playstyle, and has generally revised the highly individualistic systems of the islands into a more specific and more tactical style. It still lags far behind the rest of the world, though.

Assistant Coach: Joseph Milvoine
Age: 39
Milvoine has been a player until fairly recently, playing in the midfield under Lemaitre at RC Azertien. After his retirement, his former coach has taken him along to learn coaching from the bottom up - and now, his education spot will be in the national team.

#1 Valentin Ducreux
Position: GK // Age: 26 // Height: 187 cm // Club: F. C. Troiseaux
Ducreux is a spectacular shot-stopper with very smooth reflexes and moves. He is a spectacular man on the line, but lacklustre in distribution and often just sends the ball far up the pitch. Given that few people on the Isles care much for anything other than stopping balls when it comes to keepers, it nets him the starting spot.

#2 Pascal Voisin
Position: DF // Age: 27 // Height: 179 cm // Club: AS Port Azertien
A brutal, hard-nosed working class defender from the poor parts of Port Azertien, Voisin has made his way into the national team with consistent defensive performances. He is a gritty and strong player who is incredibly hard to get rid of.

#3 Michel Saint-Victoire
Position: DF // Age: 24 // Height: 185 cm // Club: AS Port Azertien
A working class defender from the farmland around the capital, he has developed a broad stature and a strong command of the ball, as long as he can send it long. He’s a strong tackler and header, and very strong in defending man to man.

#4 Loïc Raymond
Position: DF // Age: 28 // Height: 196 cm // Club: Racing Club Azertien
Raymond is a tall, commanding and almost elegant presence in the defence with a faible for heading. Rarely stronger than his opponents, he still usually manages to win many duels thanks to having a decent grasp at positioning and adapting very quickly on the fly. Raymond is one of the relatively few footballers in the country that don’t come from a working class background.

#5 Jules Croisay
Position: MF // Age: 29 // Height: 179 cm // Club: Tout Pouissant Port-de-Sud
Croisay is a defensively skilled and hard to pass midfielder, although he is somewhat slow and can be passed with speed. He is sometimes a bit overly hesitant to move forward, and is lacking the skill on the ball of some of his teammates.

#6 Jean-Jacques (JJ) Demartin
Position: MF // Age: 24 // Height: 176 cm // Club: AS Port Azertien
A shuttling midfielder who can go forward or backwards as required. A fast player with good passing technique, and capable of beating someone in a 1v1, as long as it’s not a world class defender. His biggest strength is his incredible stamina, his biggest weakness is his vulnerability to the finer things in life.

#7 Héctor Alexion
Position: LW // Age: 26 // Height: 180 cm // Club: Racing Club Azertien
One of the team’s upper class members, Alexion has received a good basic technical training and is a highly proficient dribbler. Fast and skilled, he is hard to stop and can hold his own physically if he needs to, although he isn’t going to push any opponents off the ball by force. Sometimes, his approach is a bit too formulaic, making him easy to cover.

#8 Marc Pierroix
Position: IF // Age: 29 // Height: 177 cm // Club: Tout Pouissant Port-de-Sud
A sort of hanging striker with a good distance shot and highly capable to arrive late into the box to score. Good at long shots and free kicks, and very good at knowing where to stand, born out of a lack of speed. Defensively, he often is a bit too late to backtrack in time, but competent enough to stop a first pass.

#9 André Martesse
Position: ST // Age: 23 // Height: 194 cm // Club: F. C. Portiron
The single centre forward is a bullish, aggressive man who uses his physical prowess to score from close range. Rogierian strikers are almost exclusively box-lurkers, waiting on the shoulder of the opposition to receive a through ball or a cross, and Martesse is the most proficient man of this type of forward.

#10 Christophe-Louis Bénétraz [C]
Position: IF // Age: 25 // Height: 182 cm // Club: Racing Club Azertien
The exception to the rule of the brutish, strong centre-forward, Bénétraz plays at Racing Club as a low-lying striker who feeds the ball to the sides. In the national team, this makes him a dangerous inside forward, pulling the strings between lines as a playmaker and natural leader. The elegant, intelligent and sophisticated Bénétraz embodies upper-class Rogierian football and its more technical, passing-oriented play.

#11 Patrice Laurent
Position: RW // Age: 25 // Height: 178 cm // Club: AS Port Azertien
Laurent is a winger with a penchant for dribbling and shooting, and with sheer inexhaustible energy. Aiming to find a way to bring the ball to the box at any cost, Laurent can sometimes get stuck in a difficult position, but is overall a strong player who can make the best of any moment. Defensively, he tracks back a lot, using his fighting spirit to make sure he doesn’t get outrun.

#12 Julien Carzon
Position: GK // Age: 26 // Height: 191 cm // Club: AS Port Azertien
Carzon uses his height to make up for technical deficiencies, making him an unconventional, but efficient shot-stopper. Like all Rogierian goalkeepers, he is not particularly strong in reading play, positioning himself or playing with the ball in his feet, but he can stop the ball when it’s flying towards him.

#13 Lucien Michel
Position: DF // Age: 28 // Height: 189 cm // Club: AS Port Azertien
A muscular and strong defender from Port Azertien’s working class neighbourhoods, Michel is a scrappy player who has been defending himself for all his life. Has the common basic technical capabilities of Rogierian street footballers, coupled with incredible determination and a sort of cunning that makes him win even seemingly lost contests.

#14 Joël Miquelon
Position: DF // Age: 21 // Height: 182 cm // Club: Tout Pouissant Port-de-Sud
Miquelon is a young defender that is one of the first players in the Isles that has a certain offensive quality, and has been trained as a midfielder first. Instead of the usual tackling-focused defenders of the Isles, Miquelon is also competent at playing the first pass and getting the ball up the pitch, and can even occasionally carry it himself.

#15 Pierre Touret
Position: MF // Age: 24 // Height: 177 cm // Club: CS Loizère
A farmer’s son from a more rural area of the Isles, Touret has gotten a lot of physical training since early childhood. He runs a lot and is strong at shielding the ball, and at separating opponents from the ball; however, once he is supposed to do something with the ball, it can look a little bit wooden.

#16 Adrien Pinole
Position: LW // Age: 20 // Height: 170 cm // Club: F. C. Troiseaux
Pinole is a young, agile winger who is particularly good at dribbling through opposition and looking for passes into the box. Expect him to weave through opposition with incredible speed, although somewhat lacklustre stamina and the occasional mistake due to his cockiness on and off the pitch.

#17 Charles Martingot
Position: RW // Age: 23 // Height: 174 cm // Club: Racing Club Azertien
A young and technically brilliant winger, with a keen eye for passes. Like many upper-class players, he is more of a brain worker than a foot worker. He is good at backtracking, but not necessarily great at doing something when opposed to an opposition player. Martingot has some weaknesses in dribbling and shooting.

#18 Gilles Sonthonnax
Position: DF // Age: 27 // Height: 182 cm // Club: F. C. Portiron
A defensively oriented player who barely ever moves forward, but is very good at stopping an opponent when they attack. Sonthonnax is expected to play particularly when there is a need to preserve a lead, as his offensive skills are largely restricted to playing the ball long.

#19 Marcel Joviard
Position: IF // Age: 26 // Height: 185 cm // Club: AS Port Azertien
Joviard is the working class take on the inside forward role, a physical and muscular player who breaks through enemy lines to shoot from medium to close range, with small amounts of creative work involved. A hot-blooded player with not overly strong playmaking skills, he is a desperation option to score from the second row.

#20 Richard Paquis
Position: IF // Age: 20 // Height: 176 cm // Club: Olympique de Chavon
Paquis is a young inside forward whose strengths and weaknesses haven’t really been discovered yet. At Chavon, a semi-pro team from a smaller town, he has managed to stand out as a stamina-heavy player who has proven a good passer and dangerous scorer, and a physically strong player as well.

#21 Henri Noël
Position: ST // Age: 22 // Height: 190 cm // Club: AS Port Azertien
Henri Noël is surprisingly agile for a tall Rogierian striker, having honed his skills on the street pitches of Port Azertien. Technique is key for this man, whose body is more smooth panther than strong, ferocious bear. Nevertheless, he is still tall and decent at heading, and packs a shot that can trouble opposing goalkeepers.

#22 Gabriel Ferry
Position: MF // Age: 29 // Height: 183 cm // Club: F. C: Troiseaux
A midfield engine, not spectacular, but also not falling off at all. Can cover all parts of the pitch thanks to speedy play and a strength in defending the ball, as well as knowing where to be at what time. A natural leader as well, and long-time captain of Troiseaux.

#23 Valéry Fillon
Position: GK // Age: 23 // Height: 186 cm // Club: Racing Club Azertien
The young Racing Club goalkeeper has been trained privately by an ambitious personal coach, and has proven a highly effective and elegant goalkeeper. However, his personality is difficult to work with, and the lack of experience at the highest level means that he is unlikely to see much play.

TACTICS

STYLE: +4

The Isles are an offensive team that doesn’t have much tactical discipline, and is relying heavily on individual efforts. On the ball, the three defenders to tend to stay back, although it is fairly common for one of them to carry the ball forward as much as possible. Both midfielders try to carry the ball and typically play it out to a winger, who crosses or seeks a pass back to the inside forward. The inside forward on the side of the ball looks for passes into free space, the inside forward on the far side goes into the box most of the time. Off the ball, the three defenders usually man-mark the strikers and/or centre-forwards. Against a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1, the outside defenders man-mark the wingers, against a two top, the wingers fall back to defend the sides and the central back acts as a libero. If required, one midfielder falls back into the defensive line, while the other man-marks the enemy playmaker; against a 4-4-2, they both man-mark the central midfielders.

ROLES
Captain: Bénétraz => Alexion => Raymond => Dutreux
Free Kicks (direct): Pierroix, Noël
Free Kicks (long): Bénétraz, Demartin
Corners: Alexion
Penalty Kick: Pierroix, Martesse, Bénétraz, Laurent, Noël, Demartin, Joviard [also progression for shooutouts]

STADIA

There are still few internationally acceptable stadia in the Republic of Iles Rogières. However, four grounds will host the national team in their initial World Cup campaign, ranging from the multi-purpose Stade de la République in the capital of Port Azertien to the smaller football stadia in Port-de-Sud and Troiseaux. Most games will be played in the capital of Port Azertien to ensure that fans and team can arrive easily. Most Rogierian stadia are primarily standing grounds, although seats exist and can be used. Within seating areas, there will be reserved places open to all visitors; within the standing areas, we kindly request fans to stick to their assigned sectors at all times while they are in the stadium in order to ensure that there is no risk of overcrowding.

Please note that the Isles do not have any commercial airport. Fans are requested to travel by ship to Port Azertien, Port-de-Sud or Pordères. For visiting teams, flying to the military airport of Déssillon, a short bus or train ride from the capital of Port Azertien, is possible upon prior coordination with the Rogierian FA. Visiting teams are responsible for ensuring that their plane is compatible with the airport, and need to submit their travel specs in time for safety reasons.

The Manager

George Murphy is the Manager of Murphtannia, he is also the manager of Domestic Giants Ashton Villa.

Murphy's History

Murphy has been manager of Ashton Villa for 2 seasons. In that time he has won the Premier League, 1 FA cup, 1 League cup and 1 super cup. Murphy has recently taken charge of Murphtannia and has only played and won 1 game, a 3-2 friendly victory over Megistos

tactics

http://lineupbuilder.com/?sk=vx617

Murphy prides himself on his fast paced attacking style of football, he uses a 4-4-2 diamond narrow with a very attacking sense (+3).

2 wings backs are employed to bomb up and down the field to provide width in the attack and will seek to cross the ball into the box.

A Defensive Midfielder sits in front of 2 centre backs, with 1 centre back covering for the other.

In-front of the DM is a box to box midfielder and a deep-lying play maker. While the BTB gets the ball and carries it up field the DLPM will get the ball and seek to pass it to a wing back bombing on or the BTB.

Finally there is a front 3 of 1 Attacking Midfielder and 2 strikers. The CAM will get the ball and seek to pass a through ball to the Advanced forward making runs behind the defence or to the Target Man who will hold up the ball, trying to make space for a pass or shot. If the CAM can't find a pass he will use his advanced footwork to move into space and pick out a pass.

The Team

Starting 11[/color]

Goalkeeper - Adam Ball- 25- 6ft5- Plays for Wolvors and is by far their key man. Recently won the Golden Glove award in the Premier League for keeping 20 clean sheets. Prefers to catch the ball rather than punch and tends to come off his line. Good shot stopping and reflexes, struggles when assembling his wall. World Class keeper.

Left-Wing back- James Cartlidge -23 -5ft7 - Villa wing back, renowned for his pace and stamina he can easily pick up the ball and run to the other end of the field, better at attacking than defending, he got 15 assists as Villa won the title, second only to Liverpool midfielder Jake Styler . Excellent crosser of the ball, has work to do on slide tackles.

Ball playing Centre back - cover - Shaun Banks - 26 - 6ft - This Liverpol CB singed from Villa this season, he kept 13 clean sheets and was able to get across the back line to make that vital tackle. Good heading and Jumping ability make him ideal for covering his CB partner, excellent tackling and speed. Can also play LB or RB.

Ball Playing Centre back - Callum Pallet- 6ft 5- 20 - Widely regarded as a brick wall, his strength and tackling ability make him hard to play against. He will use his speed and ability to be in the right place at the right time to make blocks or inch perfect tackles, the villa centre back kept a clean sheet on 15 occasions and is widely regarded as the best CB in Murphtannia. He is good friends with Shaun Banks and George Murphy, both the Manager and Striker. He has a very good passing ability and ability to hoof the ball up the pitch. Can also play at Left Back and is a decent Goalkeeper when needed.

Right Wing Back - Jack Bridge - 5ft4 - 23 - This Villa right back, like his friend and partner Cartlidge, is renowned for his pace, crossing and slide tackles. On many occasions this season Jack has run up the pitch to whip in a ball, and managed to sprint back and get an inch perfect slide tackle to win back the ball. While he is also a more attacking player he is more balanced than his partner, getting less assist but better defensive stats. A poor header of the ball, Jack prefers to deliver crosses rather than be on the receiving end of them.

Defensive Midfielder - Jacob Marley - 27 - 5ft8 - Vice Captain - The experienced and cool head in front of the defence, Jacob has been a Walsoll player for 2 seasons. He is excellent at organising the defence and is the 1st line of defence. Jacob's short and long passing ability means he can easily get the ball and distribute it to the midfield.

Box to Box Midfielder - Conner Owen - 21 - 5ft5 - Conner is one of Villa's star players, having scored 6 goals and gotten 15 assist's. Short, Pacy and never tiring, Conner could cover every blade of grass without getting tired. With Great ball control, pace, stamina and passing ability Conner can easily get the ball and carry it up field to the CAM or Target Man. He is quite strong making it harder to wrestle the ball of him and has excellent heading ability and jumping despite his small stature. Although only 21, Conner has already won the Murphtannian Ballon Dor and the Premier league twice.

Deep lying Play maker - George Jenkins - 20 - 6ft7- A very tall and strong midfielder Jenkins is an intimidating presence on the field, strong tackling and pace makes him ideal for a deep lying play maker roll, he will frequently try and pick a pass to the Box-to-Box or RWB. He can also do a job as extra defensive cover. Being tall his is very good in the air, having scored 10 headed goals in the premier league, the most of any player. Heading isn't his only asset with him being the set piece specialist. He scored 10 goals from free kicks and 5/5 pens as he went on to be the joint top scorer in the league. He also got 15 assists from free kicks and corners.

Central attacking Midfielder - Jake Styler - 24 - 5ft4 - Jake isn't built physically and is quite short, however his technical ability is second only to Murph. With the most assist's for Liverpol, 23, it highlights Jakes excellent ability to pick a perfect pass, find space, beat the defender with excellent dribbling. While he isn't the strongest defender's struggle to keep up with Jake at the best of times, sitting just behind the 2 strikers Jake is a key part of Murphtannia's famous front 3.

Target Man - Jake Pole - 25 - 5ft9. Jake Pole Isn't the strongest player ever but his hold up play is second to none. When receiving the ball he will use this hold up play and decent pace to keep the ball, bringing other teammates into play, scoring 14 goals this season shows Jake still has an eye for goal however his 18 assists speak louder as to the type of player he is, he is also Murphtannia's and Villas greatest header of the ball in terms of ability, having scored 5 of his goals via headers.

Advanced Forward - George Murphy (Murph to avoid confusion with the manager) - 6ft - 17 - Captain - Murphy regarded as the Greatest Murphtannian player of his generation. Despite being only being 17 Murphy is already Villa and Murphtannia captain. His age doesn't show with the leadership qualities his posses and his ability to deal with pressure well. Murph is rapid and has excellent stamina, combined with his ball control, superb finishing, decent ability to hold up the ball and ability to pick a perfect pass, it is no wonder Murphy is the top scorer in the Premier league, the boyhood villa fan scored 30 goals and got 10 assists, Murph is unselfish and will happily pass the ball to a teammate with a better scoring position. A decent penalty taker, Murphy prefers to be on the receiving end of set pieces rather than taking them. Many a time this season has he used his skill and ball control to beat a defence and his finishing ensures he has never missed a 1 on 1. He is by far Murphtannia's key player. Can also play LW, RW, CAM, LWB and LB.

The Murphtannia stadium

The Murphtannia stadium was first constructed in 1920, since then it has been the home of the Murphtannian national team and the stadium in which all cups finals are played.

[size=200]Facilities [/size]

The Murphtannia stadium has state of the art training centres, youth facilities, lighting, flood lights, pitch quality, and anything else you can think of. It has a capacity of 100,000 people and has seen many memorable moments such as the national team lifting the British Championships and winning gold at the 2012 Olympics.

Other stadiums

The main stadiums used by the Murphtannian national team other than the Murphtannia stadium are Villa Park , where the FA vase, FA cup and League semi finals are held, and Anfield. These stadiums are stacked with History and some of the finest in Murphtannia. Finally Wembley stadium can also be used however it is mostly used by the English national team. (OOC: Most Murphtannian teams played in England until our independence and annexation of the UK. However each country still has their own FA like before.)

The Fans

The Murphtannian fans are passionate and loyal. Football is a very large part of Murphtannian culture and most games sell capacity, even in the lower depths of the football pyramid or amateur football. Murphtannian fans aren't known for hooliganism and are mostly kind and respectful, until the game begins, where the banter begins. When Murphtannia wins anything parties can go on for days and everyone is given time off work.

History of the national team

For an in depth history please refer to the fact book on footballing history in Murphtannia.

For those too lazy for that here is a basic history of our achievements

Finally Murphtannia invented and hosted the First British Championships (Between members of the Commonwealth) in 1950, winning it in the years of 1954, 1956 and finally in 2004.

Please assume YES for all answers in the Permission Box – just TG me first if it's particularly insane and/or egregious.
Ages are at World Cup LXXXVI finals - please subtract two years for first half of qualifying, one year for second half.

THE MANAGEMENT TEAM

Manager – Jerome JAFFACAKE-PHILLIPS (KRY/AUD), Age *shrug*
Son of one of the multiverse's most infamous journalists – and son-in-law of the other. Former Krytenian international back in the Stone Age; previously manaaged Silexhera's national team. Expect him to be especially animated if the Dragons play his father's homeland.

Assistant Manager – Paul DAVIS, Age 42
JJP's tactical mastermind, he's being groomed as a future national team boss.

Goalkeeping Coach – Marcus WASHINGTON, Age 45
Defensive Coach – Robert FIELDS, Age 46
Offensive Coach – Graham OWENS, Age 61
Physiotherapist – Stephen WILLIS, Age 37

THE SQUAD

Goalkeepers

Image
Damien CARPENTER
Age: 30
Position: Goalkeeper
Club: Mercia Bromham

Steely blue eyes and a blonde ponytail swishing in the wind – Carpenter is the poster boy for the Goalkeeper's Union in more ways than one. Tends to punch crosses rather than go for the clean catch, which has made him unpopular in some circles.

Image
Serge DUPRÉE
Age: 25
Position: Goalkeeper
Club: Bromham City

Young agile custodian who was pretty much the only reason the Westies managed a second season. Now working more miracles in the Mercian capital.

Image
Robert WILSON
Age: 20
Position: Goalkeeper
Club: Notegia Rangers

Impressed in the Under-18 World Cup, which earned him a place as Rangers' number one.

Defenders

Image
James AITKEN
Age: 28
Position: Right/Centre-back
Club: Ashton Olympic

Practiacally a midfielder in terms of pressing. Loves to work the overlaps.

Image
Ross GREEN
CAPTAIN
Age: 28
Position: Centre-back
Club: Leston Town

Tall and rangy, but can shift his weight when needed. Bags of pace and a good read of the game.

Image
Joey SINTON
Age: 21
Position: Left/Centre-back
Club: Ashton Olympic

Learning his trade well alongside Aitken. Excellent reader of the game.

Image
Ross OKANO
Age: 21
Position: Left/Centre-back
Club: Oustia

Young all-rounder helped guide Oustia to their first season in the big leagues.

Image
Rodolfo MARQUEZ
Age: 27
Position: Right/Centre-back
Club: Avidia United

Speedy and smart in the tackle; can be hesitant to go forward when the Dragons have the ball.

Image
Eddie BULL
Age: 21
Position: Left/Centre-back
Club: Stanton Town

Prodigious young talent; Paul Davis saw enough in him to put him straight in the U21s, and from there to the senior squad.

Midfielders

Image
Joshua KELNIC
Age: 28
Position: Right midfield
Club: Avidia United

Accurate crosser of the ball and good with it at his feet. Not the fastest.

Image
Oliver ALEXANDER
Age: 29
Position: Left midfield
Club: Notegia Rangers

Cultured winger with a fierce cross.

Image
Samuel JOHANSSEN
Age: 26
Position: Central midfield
Club: Bradwell Saints

Tenacious midfielder, full of running. Better at short than long passes.

Image
Cormac O'NEILL
VICE-CAPTAIN
Age: 26
Position: Central midfield
Club: Stanton Town

Took over from Murray Schwarzkopf at the Dockers. Silky ball player and workhorse midfield general all in one.

Image
Daniel MOULIER
Age: 24
Position: Central midfield
Club: Emberton Reds

Intelligence beyond his years. Quick passer of the ball.

Image
Ben FOYLE
Age: 22
Position: Right midfield
Club: Mercia Bromham

Speedy winger, accurate in the cross.

Image
Darren HARRISON
Age: 22
Position: Central midfield
Club: Ousevale Borough

Intelligent ball-player starting to get his chance at the Tigers. Formed in the mould of Ousevale CMs gone by.

Image
Joe BIELSA
Age: 24
Position: Left midfield
Club: Royal Emberton

Carves his way down the channels, loves a cross from the by-line.

Forwards

Image
Apollo PETERS
Age: 21
Position: Forward
Club: Avidia United

The Eagles often produce prodigious strikers, and Peters is no exception. Speedy and clinical.

Image
Alun BELMWR
Age: 18
Position: Forward
Club: New Cefn Albion

English may not be his first language - in fact, it's his third, behind Welsh and goals. Prodigious young talent, oddly spelt but familiar name.

Image
Neil SMITH
Age: 24
Position: Forward
Club: Stanton Town

This young lad is built like the proverbial outhouse, but is surprisingly quick on his toes. Right foot could open a jar of pickle.

Image
Andrew CARSETTI
Age: 20
Position: Forward
Club: Beckton Supermarine

Promising striker with a keen eye for goal.

Image
Curtis SUNDAY
Age: 23
Position: Forward
Club: Bromham City

Banging them in for Bromham's other team. Nicknamed "Weekend Warrior" for obvious reasons.

Image
Alex PARSONS
Age: 25
Position: Forward
Club: Notegia Rangers

Pace makes him difficult to track; has a lethal left peg. Only 5'7” though, so unlikely to win too many headers.

LIKELY STARTERS – Formation: 3-4-3 “System Garcia”

Tactics

Empress Masumi Stadium at night

Ken Hayabusa is a controversial character in the Kandorese sporting world next to being one of the youngest managers in the nation. Well renowned in the nation for his tactical mind and winning the Cup of Harmony 77. Hayabusa's national achievements and reputation speak for themselves as the previous coach of the very successful Imakazawa Ravens which he led to be national champions 4 times in a row. Hayabusa believes in "total football" to make sure the team has players available to cover for each other in almost any situation and any position. The Kandorese team is looking to play a more aggressive football and rely a lot on quick, successive passes and counters. But, when in doubt the team will hold back to eventually mount a mass assault from the midfield positions. The midfield is the most important terrain for this team; this is where the most important and strongest players control the entire play. The strikers for Kandorith are something different, the team has no traditional style strikers but rather extremely fast and pacey runners; who will take their opportunity to run at the goal at any chance they get; while the midfield will close down the area behind them to ensure the team's dominance on the opponent's half.

The midfield is not only the engine behind the team, but also very capable at scoring goals. The strikers are mostly wingers and runners who are supported by a capable and pacey midfielders who all have a talent for finishing. In defense the Kandorese team is cautious and pressure absorbing. The entire team will do their very best to tire out opponents and strike when they are off-balanced with quick and long passes the Kandorese defense can switch to a full-out offense and get the ball in the opponent's half within two passes. Unlike many teams, this team does not have a set formation but more a guideline in what their responsibilities are. According to Ken Hayabusa winning is the responsibility of the entire team, therefore the entire team should be able to play in complete synergy with the rest.

The home stadium for the Kandorese National Team is the Empress Masumi National Stadium, named after the current Empress in honour of her coronation. The rather new stadium is designed as a multi-purpose sports complex with the possibility of completely changing the venue's layout for almost any sport. When the stadium is not used for sports the large complex is used to host concerts, large events and even traditional markets. The Stadium is the home of the Kandorese first division team FC Tenkyo who are one of the "big four" teams of the nation. With a total capacity during football matches of 90,000 attendants the stadium is a symbol for a new era of the Kandorese nation and its people.
