But Nicaragua isn't demonised like Cuba and the Cuban revolution is in America is my point. Sure they'll always be right wingers who think any step leftwards is a sign of the end times but the reason for that reaction towards Cuba even up to today has little to do with the actual Cuban government and more to do with voting bloc mostly centred in South Florida.

To quell the growing discontent amongst the populace—which was subsequently displayed through frequent student riots and demonstrations—Batista established tighter censorship of the media, while also utilizing his Bureau for the Repression of Communist Activities secret police to carry out wide-scale violence, torture and public executions. These murders mounted in 1957, as Fidel Castro gained more publicity and influence. Many people were killed, with estimates ranging from hundreds to about 20,000 people killed.

I understand. But I think we can stop here until I create a new Cuba thread at the appropriate time. Besides you all know my views on Cuba very well by now. As a native Cuban and American Citizen, I know the right pro and con questions to ask on the polls, better than a non Cuban.
