Given her changing her support to being for gay marriage, her stance on immigration and the like, it is hard to see what issues she is particularly socially conservative on. I mean she is not far left on social policy but I would put her as a fairly run of the mill neoliberal.
She voted against legalizing same-sex marriage, she's pro-life, she's tougher on immigration than people like to make out, and she personally believes that Germany should be more Christian. I stand by my description of her as a conservative who governs from the center.
