She voted against legalizing same-sex marriage, she's pro-life, she's tougher on immigration than people like to make out, and she personally believes that Germany should be more Christian. I stand by my description of her as a conservative who governs from the center.

Yes, while some individual EU states might be more democratic the US has nothing like Hungary and at the EU level the parliament has little power compared to indirectly elected bodies.

I think there is room for the EU to strengthen and centralize in some cases, IE, in the way they handle their monetary policies or the way even in which they might set fiscal recommendations etc etc, but in terms of all out European federalism, I think it misses the mark and allows for the possibility of a bloated bureaucracy that won't respond effectively to the needs of each individual European nation. Certainly, the EU can do more to promote human rights within their member-states and work more collaboratively in immigration policy, social policy, etc etc, but beyond that, no.

What would be the difference between this elective monarchy, and a constitutional republic other than the name of the head of state? What powers would the king/queen/royal family have?

Personally, I think all constitutional monarchs who don't actually do anything should be abolished. The British royal family for example has next to no power and just eats up taxpayer money, but they still get to live really rich and privileged lifestyles just because of whom they happen to be related to, and it still makes the press over here in the States big-time when one of them burps funny.

China and the US have the a main cultural in there country.And most of the time it's unified.India is different. Before the British came here, it was just a regional concept.It's made up of hundreds of small kingdoms of different religions and races.And constantly conquered by foreign nations.It's basically like another Europe.
