https://dotesports.com/streaming/news/sex-addict-suing-twitch-for-25-million-for-its-overly-suggestive-and-sexual-contentA California man is suing Twitch for $25 million in damages for being exposed to “overly suggestive and sexual content” on the site, according to court documents.
The 56-page lawsuit filed by Erik Estavillo and obtained by Dexerto includes images of numerous scantily-clad female Twitch streamers. The summons was officially served by the Superior Court of California on June 19.
In the complaint, Estavillo says he’s a sex addict who also suffers from depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic disorder, agoraphobia, and Crohn’s disease, so he “heavily relies on the internet for all his entertainment purposes.”
“Twitch has extremely exacerbated his condition by displaying many sexually suggestive women streamers through Twitch’s twisted programming net code, making it nearly impossible for the plaintiff to use Twitch without being exposed to such sexual content,” the complaint says.
The complaint also says that Estavillo is following 786 female streamers and zero male streamers on Twitch. Some of the broadcasters mentioned by name and image in the complaint are Pokimane, STPeach, Pink Sparkles, and Alinity.
“In addition, Twitch also takes advantage of the plaintiff and many other sexually addicted viewers by allowing them to ‘Subscribe, Donate, or Pay Bits’ to these women streamers,” the complaint says. “Twitch uses this immediate gratification reward system against their sexually addicted viewers no different than how a Casino would.”
Estavillo’s “request for relief” in the complaint includes the permanent banning of every streamer mentioned in his report, along with $25 million in punitive damages to be split between himself and all other Twitch Prime Turbo subscribers—with whatever’s left going to COVID-19 and Black Lives Matter charities.
Estavillo has previously sued Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, and Blizzard Entertainment in the past for various reasons. All of the previous cases have been dismissed.
Tl;dr: A man named Erik Estavillo (who claims to suffer from depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic disorder, agoraphobia, and Crohn’s disease) has sued twitch for 25 million because he is apparently a ¨sex addict¨ and believes Twitch has taken advantage of him and others like him by allowing them to view sexual content and subscribe and donate to the streamers and because the algorithm tends to suggest it a lot. He has claimed that Twitch has made his apparent ¨sex addiction¨ worse since it keeps suggesting it to him and at the moment he is following over 700 female streamers.
So I don´t think I need to explain why this lawsuit is so absurd. The dude is basically suing Twitch because he apparently has a problem. Like I get seeing sexual content is kinda annoying but it is not hard to filter it out and or just ignore it. It is just such an absurd case I wanted to see what you guys think about it.
So the CCP won't let me be or let me be me so let me see, they tried to shut me down on CBC but it feels so empty without me.

This man just needs a Communist state to set him on track. Ya'll dumb, give me a post, I'll take care of you, if you pay me.

Most people wouldn't have to work for a living indefinitely with that much, and parking it into a good enough index fund or good real estate, it'd multiply and sustain itself in terms of a fortune.

But it sounds like the man's struggling with various conditions. I hope he has an appropriate team of professionals supporting him with those; if that turns out to not be the case, that's something that should be looked into.

Just claiming it is a bit weak. I suggest getting a diagnosis from an unqualified counsellor or psychologist.
Look for the word "Christian" on their plaque, and if there's a big cross in the waiting room you're good for multiple diagnoses!

I don't know what would be different if they are Christian.

Um, I don't consume porn but I also don't have a spouse. I'd rather keep both options open if you don't mind.
