And yes, Huskar, we all murder Thalmor patrols. That's normal for every Skyrim player.

Niranye is a snobbish fence for the Thieves Guild who wears too much makeup. Nenya all the way.
Anyway, yeah it's obvious the Empire is in a far better position to take on the Dominion than a hypothetical independent Skyrim. The Stormcloaks tearing apart Skyrim and killing more Nords than anything else only weakens Skyrim and the Empire as a whole. The Thalmor directly benefit from the rebellion and admit as much in their own dossier on Ulfric. Hell, even Ulfric admits the rebellion was a mistake in Sovngarde though for admittedly different reasons.

I’m personally pro Stormcloak, though not for ideological reasons - I’m definitely pro-Empire in that area. But I see the Empire like a dying thing that won’t be able to really stand up to the Dominion even with Skyrim back under control. I don’t like Ulfric, not at all, but an independent Skyrim that’s able to rebuild and focus its attention on fighting the Altmer is more desirable in my belief. Taking down something that’s practically dead and growing something new that’s stronger and isn’t hampered by the now Empire’s own problems, if you get what I mean.
Personally my ideal Skyrim is an independent Skyrim under a Dragonborn High King, or a new Dragonborn Empire. But that isn’t very likely nor realistic unless the lore’s being stretched IMO.

Hopefully they give clear answers to several of the quest lines.

Honestly, I don't see how you can be anti-Stormcloak ideology but pro-Skyrim. They kinda cancel each other out.

I reckon they’re going to canonically leave it at a stalemate with the quest Season Unending, as that’s part of the main questline.
Well, at least some part of Skyrim is independent...
I wonder where that would leave Whiterun. Would it be an independent city-state, or pro-Empire? Will they give up the empire and join the Stormcloaks? It's interesting to think about.

That could work. I hope killing Paarthurnax isn't canon. I was so angry at The Blades when they gave me that quest. I was like the heck with you and wanted nothing more to do with them

I doubt it would. The Blades questline was a side one, and at most they’re going to leave it ambiguous to maintain player choice to a degree.
