There are three types of passports available in the Empire of Prymordiya. These are: civilian passports, diplomatic passports, and government passports.

Civilian passports are issued to citizens of Prymordiya to enable them to travel to other countries. They contain the name of the country in English, the primary state symbols, and the words "Passport" and "Civilian" in English. They have a red cover.

Diplomatic passports are issued to the Empire's diplomats and ambassadors as well as the minister of Foreign Relations, to enable them to travel to other countries to perform their diplomatic and ambassadorial duties. They contain the name of the country in English, the primary state symbols, and the words "Passport" and "Diplomatic" in English. They also have a red cover.

Government passports are issued to government employees and high level officials as well as the Imperial Family, in addition to spouses and other eligible family. They contain the name of the country in English, the primary state symbols, and the words "Passport" and "Government" in English. They have a unique black cover.

[Cosnicu]

Cosnicu's passport is a blue color ,with Cosnicu;s seal on the front printed in grey as well as the word "Passort" printed at the top. At the bottom, it holds the various markers allowing its use in as amny families of nations as Cosnicu has been able to allow. The identification on the passport is very simple, a picture, a chip in the cover of the passport, and a name and birthdate. Each page has a watermark of various aspects of Cosnicu, and are chosen by the user of the passport, some common ones include a large watercraft, offshore wind farms, the inside of an empty high speed train, a launch complex, a home, and more.

The Duotonan passport has three varients: Citizen, Diplomatic and Governmental. The citizen one is black with gold text, the diplomatic one is dark green with black text and the governmental one is orange with black text.

The front cover features the title of "Imperial States of Duotona" at the very top, both in English and French, then below features the coat of arms of Duotona taking up the majority of the front. The bottom then features the word passport, again in both English and French.

Citizen passports are given to people who have citizenship in Duotona, and allow them to travel to different countries. Some countries do require visas, mainly if they have negative relations with Duotona.

Diplomatic passports are only given out to diplomats and representatives to other nations or the UN. They are also given to workers of foreign embassies stationed in other countries (e.g Duotonans who work in Duotona's embassy in Paris) in order to allow ease of travel between those nations. People who hold this passport are (mostly) given visa-free access to countries in which they are needed to be stationed in. Otherwise, the same rules apply.

Governmental passports are only carried by the Head of State as well as all the representatives that make up their cabinet. They allow visa-free travel to all countries for work purposes (state visits and such). This is guaranteed for all members of the GTO (basically Duotona's universe's version of NATO) but other nations may choose to cut this privilege, especially in time of severe crisis. Only 3 countries have done so, those being the People's Republic of China (due to Duotona's recognition of Taiwan), Afghanistan and North Korea.

The 16-hex-digit code at the top of the passport is the person's citizen ID code given by the imperial government. The datacode below the face photographs has an authentication token used for logging the border checkpoints that the traveler has been to in the Mechyrdian government's database.

The typical process at a bulkspace starport checkpoint in either Mechyrdia proper or most other countries in the galaxy is as follows:

1. Traveler gives passport to border control officer
2. Border control officer queries Mechyrdian government citizen database with citizen ID number on the passport to ensure that the data on the passport matches the results from the database
3. Officer scans the datacode using a visual scanner, automatically entering it into the computer
4. The computer sends a combination of the datacode's auth token and the identity of the border checkpoint to the Mechyrdian Foreign Ministry's server, where the person's visit to the checkpoint is logged in the citizen's passport record
5. Border control officer gives passport back to traveler

All communication between computers is done over secure channels.

We don't have paper passports in the Hiperuranion, or passports at all, but travel visas. If you have permission to enter the realm, an ideogram representing you is designed by the Border Office. The ideogram will appear on your forehead and one of your wrists once you cross the border. It will remain all the time you're there until its expiration date. You won't see them, but the Border Office crew and the Guardians of the Realm, will.

If you're still in Hiperurànion when the visa expires, it will emit a kind of waves, the Guardians of the Realm will soon detect them, and you'll be accompanied to the nearest border to leave the realm.
