The Taeshan wizarding community is a very secretive community. It takes its quidditch very serious and has a storied history with its 16 team league. The national team has made the finals once finishing second in the tournament. It plays a very offensive style in the tournament and has gotten close to winning. They are hopeful that they can do well in their home tournament.

The muggles in Taeshan no nothing of the wizarding community and we would like to keep it that way. All wizards and witches will be expected to stay within the confines of the wizarding communities their group is assigned to. In the case of the larger city based groups the wizarding community is generally kept within a designated part of the city. Travel between tournament sites is expected to be done through the floo system. No silly broom flying will go unpunished between venues. The Taeshan Aurors are very adapt at keeping track of unauthorized magic within the nation, and are swift to punish.

Maybe the 10th time is the charm, and perhaps on home soil (Air?) the Knights can get it done. Dakota Lyle, Everett McCleary, Samantha van Dyke and Albert Hancock return. Hancock remains the backup seeker as Maxwell Chance takes over for Ollivander Williams. Joining the lineup for their first stars are Shanon Wilder, Jeremiah Caldwell and Maxwell Chance.

Starting Roster
Player Number Position Team

Keeper - #30, Angel Gonzalez (5-foot-5, 145 pounds, male)
Beater - #39, Matt Spencer (5-foot-11, 180 pounds, male)

Manager: Chris Entwistle
Assistant: Anthony Christensen
Keeper Coach: Erkki Taipale

It was a completely different challenge facing Sarzonia as it prepared for the 10th Quidditch World Cup.

No one knew what to expect from a country that hadn't fielded a team for five consecutive cycles after a third place finish in the second and third Cups.

Now, they were the team to beat. They won the ninth edition by edging aside every team but The Sherpa Empire during the group stage. They would get revenge despite an injury to goalkeeper Edwin Nash, but more importantly, they would get gold medals.

Manager Chris Entwistle knew that the squad listing might be exactly the same, but the team would be different in one key way. They would carry the weight of expectations. They would get every team's best shot.

Trouble was, they wouldn't get a chance at traditional rivals such as Starblaydia or hosts Taeshan or their friendly rivals from across the southern border in Delaclava. Entwhistle wasn't even sure the Stars would get magical aid from Delaclav wizards the way they did in each prior competition.

The song remains the same, he thought, even though the players change. In this case, however, he hoped the song from last time that heralded a championship would remain the same, even if the circumstances were the "players" that changed.

The First ever Kohnhead Quidditch Team

The wizarding community in Kohnhead is pretty small and unknown to your average muggles. While there have been some close encounters with muggles in the past memory charms come in handy which is why they have remained secret. There is no actual Quidditch league in Kohnhead but with the wizarding community growing the sport is also growing which could mean that in the next couple leagues a league might be formed. Some of these players go to Moontrose the wizarding academy in Kohnhead, while some have already gone through there. The youngest player is 14 and is currently possibly the best player at Moontrose.

Starters
#10 Jimmy Toolville Chaser (M) Age: 21 (C)
#11 Percy Washington Chaser (M) Age: 14 (4th year student)
#9 Harriet Bocher Chaser (F) Age: 16 (6th year student)
#40 Roosevelt Derby Beater (M) Age: 28
#42 Sophie Duban Beater (F) Age: 17 (7th year student)
#1 Mildred Flosser Keeper (F) Age: 24
#7 Alvin Cohler Chaser (M) Age: 17 (7th year student)

Reserves
#12 Yohan Malfoy Chaser (M) Age: 23
#8 Lindsey Herowitz Chaser (F) Age: 15 (5th year student)
#41 Ashley Arrog Beater (F) Age: 31
#18 Jonah Goldberg (M) Age: 22
#77 Kim Jarvis (F) Age: 15 (5th year student)

We see Cohler the seeker donning the number 7 just like Harry Potter and Jarvis the backup seeker is wearing 77. This team is extremely young starting four Moontrose students and have two on the bench. It's not just 7th year students as there's a 4th year, two 5th years, and a 6th year. This team has a lot of potential but with no domestic league in Kohnhead I don't think they can go far. With their first match being played against Havynwilde I'm seeing a loss incoming. Maybe they can beat Valdivola or Sarzonia but I'm doubtful.

The tin foil hats were right.

Population of 16 Billion? Of course there can’t be so many. Certainly half of Kriegiersien is inhabited by mages, wizards and witches, who are a secret community among the muggles.

And the new Prime minister of the wizards had big plans. Hearing that until now the muggle had claimed all participations at the prestigious Quidditch World Cup through rogue wizard mercenaries, that the last season even genuine muggles had participated, this time he wanted a team send from the Kriegiersien wizard world.

Quidditch isn’t that popular in the magical world of Kriegiersien, contrary to Arena fights, magical hunts or Duels of all sorts between Wizards. It is normally only a school sport and so a team out of the best players from Wizard schools, Universities and Academies was prepared to face the team that had been playing the most Quidditch world cups for Kriegiersien, silently permitted by the Kriegiersien muggle President.
These rogue hedge wizards, wild mages and adventurers calling themselves now the ‘Glorious Bastards’ had once been third at the Quidditch World Cup and the match between them and the best official team of the Wizard World was suddenly a big thing.

In a giant arena the two teams played each other in a highly anticipated and marketed showdown to decide who would go to the World Cup.

School Team - Glorious Bastards
350:140

It was a glorious day for the Kriegiersien Wizard World. When Sam Mandrake, the seeker of the school team catched the snitch, the team already had led with 200:140.

Now they would go to Taeshan.

The Squad:

Coaches
Baldur Gates
Mimimi Winthrop

Jack of all trades
Robinson Nazgul

Chasers
Sansa Kirfenia
Bill Shazam
Lockheart Brad
Vanya Tutzelworm
Zacharia Zerg
Lisa Ward

Beaters
Henry Richardson
Louis Clark
Amanda Butler
Kevin Kelly

Keeper
Carolyn Martinez
Pamela Cox

Seeker
Sam Mandrake
Jimmy Murphy

and further staff
technicians, medical staff, cooks, physios, therapists, fitness coaches, security

Broom:

Having not much experience with the sport, a task force had to engineer a fitting broom for the new National team. They came up with the:

 Wutzorn 1.3

Image

Carved out of ancient angry evil magical trees, highly inflammable and inflatable. Very agile and pliable, hard to control. Can bring bad luck, but is very fast and makes bonus damage in ramming maneuvers.
First they wanted to put also a demon in it, but restricted it to evil spirits and restraining spells.
Can also, when used as melee weapon, easily crush things.

Team Western Fardelshufflestein: The Western Fardelshufflestein Brown Bears

Team Roster

#05--Josef Blunt, Beater. Male, age 21.
#06--Henry Jagermeister, Keeper. Male, age 15 (finishing 4th year). Youngest player of Team Western Fardelshufflestein.

Reserve Players
#08--Oren Ludwig, Reserve Chaser. Male, age 25.
#09--Lucas Schaffer, Reserve Chaser. Male, age 23.
#10--Brianna Hertz, Reserve Beater. Female, age 21.
#11--Ishmael Mohamed, Reserve Keeper. Male, age 24.
#12--Leah Warner, Reserve Seeker. Female, age 27.

Le Context

This being the first year they've qualified for the Quidditch World Cup, Team Western Fardelshufflestein does not expect to make it past their first match. They're here to have fun, do their best, and make the Western Fardelshufflestein wizarding community proud. Naturally, the majority of Western Fardelshufflesteinians are Muggles who are utterly oblivious to the existence of wizards, which makes travelling a bit awkward but also more covert.

Le Uniforms

The robes of Team Western Fardelshufflestein are a deep blue to match the color of the Western Fardelshufflesteinan flag, with a Western Fardelshufflesteinian (OOC: Liechtensteiner) crown emblazoned on the left breast. The surname of the player is written in block letter on the back in gold, as is their number. The inside of the robe, as will as the player's tunic and pants, are a bright cardinal, while all the protective gear is leather brown.

Le Brooms
Team Western Fardelshufflestein flies on the Nimbus 2020, imported from Great Britain.

Other Things
1. While Team Western Fardelshufflestein's strategy is highly classified, it is known that the players hurl Shakespearean insults at their opponents.
2. Western Fardelshufflestein's most famous Quidditch commentator and renowned linguist, Sebastian Kent, is traveling with the team as a translator and correspondent. He will provide information about the pronunciation of Western Fardelshufflestein and other words. (Western Fardelshufflesteinians are not offended by the mispronunciation of their country's name. In fact, many of them may mispronounce the name, so to speak, due to variation depending on the speaker's regional dialect.)

TEAM HINODEJIN EMPIRE, "The Wicked Children"

Most wizarding cultures across the multiverse would rather be as secretive as possible. The Hinodejin chuckle at that notion, taking full refuge in audacity. The only thing they haven't done was to perform magic tricks in public view but they're very much fine with displaying the results of those tricks and will gladly bend reality to shift into their interests. In all fairness, most of their interests consist of fully embarrassing those who are arrogant with tricks designed to slowly drive them towards full out insanity, if not break their spirit apart. Unlike the Hinodejin (who are usually pretty humble, albeit fans of taking arguments to a brawl more often than you'd think), its' wizards are actually more chilled and down-to-earth than humble but will gladly mess a bastard up if need be.

STARTING LINE-UP
#33 - Waʻa Kūʻai - Chaser - Male, Age 21 - Inaboshima Surf
Surfer legends speak of a man that was able to tame even the wildest wave in the Eastern Seas. Rain, storm, wind, thunder... it mattered nothing. He was Waitakere, a wizard. His son, Wa'a, is already following his father's footsteps although his passion for Quidditch keeps getting in the way.

#15 - Dōng Qīngtíng - Chaser - Female, Age 19 - Tentai Academy of Magic
Some say that when the Hinodejin forces first attacked the city of Tentai (then under the name of Leichen), a family of long dragons flew above the burning city. Dōng Qīngtíng's mother was one of the dragons of that fatidical day.

#66 - Hikesseki Tōhō - Chaser, Female, Age 25 - Mashugaku Academics
Red, spiky hair, a large tattoo across her body and blood that burns at all times. Hikesseki is a very deadly person to deal with... although that's a reputation that has yet to be proved. Not like anyone's willing to take chances at proving that though.

#42 - Shōgeki Iganami - Beater, Male, Age 23 - Watari Talekeepers
A big fan of storms (he's usually seen catching some shut-eye in the middle of the storm), Shōgeki brings a shocking style to the game of Quidditch, although some think he's a bit too electric for his own good.

#15 - Rakvél Sólarinnardóttir - Beater, Female, Age 22 - Amagiyugashima Drummers
An old-school beater that loves contact, usually big into rough tackles. Perfect teammate to have, a perfect date to have a chat and a drink with and probably one person you can always lay your very life with.

#88 - Frodo Salvador - Seeker, Male, Age 26 - Suki-Hinode Underground
A goalie with plenty of experience after running away from some unknown disaster in the west of the Empire (although most people believe that was just his mom kicking him out), he rebounded into a Quidditch career. In the muggles' world, he runs a disk store.

#79 - Dong Leun-Yeo - Chaster, Female, Age 20 - Northern Academy of Magic
The fastest broom this side of the multiverse. She does delivery jobs in her off-time from Quidditch and studies.

Reserves: Will add later.

Uniforms
The Hinodejin play in dark-purple robes with black horizontal stripes. Their numbers find themselves in the back of their robes with a coat of magic white paint while the Hinodejin Crest of Wizardry (a raven in front of a Katana) finds itself placed on their right arm.

RP PERMISSIONS
Don't kill them or injure them for too long. Picking goals is fine. Try to be in-character with them.

The magical community of Ko-oren might be a little strange to those that are used to typical magic settings, especially those involving Quidditch. Ko-oren has no magic academy, that is, not one involving wands and spells and owls and potions and the like. Instead, the magical community associated with this country is the Art, long thought lost ("The most striking thing about the nation is the art of Writing, writing Worlds into existance."), but surprisingly still very much alive. To those in the know. Among the general public, knowledge of this is non-existant. Only some ministers are told about it, without fear that they will spread this knowledge among the electorate. No-one will believe it, after all.

Well hidden away from public view, the community itself has put many, many rules and procedures in place for keeping their communities, Art, books, and so on, hidden.

RP Update: The players can be injured, but not killed; the captain cannot be injured too severely. Feel free to choose goal scorers, but keep in mind that the best Chaser is the captain. Team Western Fardelshufflestein does not play dirty unless they have to (if the other team is playing dirty, say). Other than that, all RP permissions granted.

The humble PRINCIPALITY of VALDIVIOLA would like to introduce its National Quidditch Team, Nicknamed "The Volatori Viola" for entry to QUIDDITCH WORLD CUP X!
Image

INTRODUCTION
The Valdiviolan Quidditch Team return for the tenth installment of the Quidditch World Cup after skipping the previous tournament. Valdiviolan fans will be hoping this team can continue the fantastic run of competitive World Cup results that have seen the nation reach Quarter- and Semi-Finals in recent years. The backbone of the team remains the same except for in the Snitching department with two new Seekers making the team after the scandalous elopement of National sweetheart Evangelina Falco & her understudy Valentino Gozzoli last year, with the location of the pair still a mystery...

ROBES

STYLE, ROSTER & COACHING
STYLE – A strong belief that Quidditch is a sport to primarily entertain the masses watching in the stands, the style of gameplay in Valdiviola is an attacking and imaginative one. Quick-paced with tricks abound with even the Keeper joining the attack on occasion, the Quaffle-players and Beaters following play in unison, defending and attacking as a unit of 6. Skill over strength is often favoured in Chasers and so Beaters are physical and agile in equal measure to account for a potential lack of physicality in Quaffle-play.

ROSTER

KEEPER – Lorenzo NOBILE (Captain) - #1
Age: 31 Height: 6ft1
Description: NOBILE is the choice between the hoops for a third World Cup and will wear the Captain's Armband as the natural leader of the squad. Nobody in Valdiviolan Quidditch is as revered as the big Keeper, who pulls off stunning saves in defence and is equally adept supporting a Quaffle attack. In recent seasons, Nobile has helped his club side win multiple trophies back home and will be trying his best to win the biggest prize of all this time around.

BEATER – Erasmo BURRASCA - #2
Age: 33 Height: 5ft10
Description: BURRASCA has been the exceptional Bludger-player in Valdiviola for the last decade. Whilst Burrasca has faced competition for his place in the starting VII this time around he is still considered to be an outstanding performer and is consistently a league-leader in Beating stats back home.

BEATER – Aurelia FIORE - #3
Age: 30 Height: 6ft0
Description: FIORE forged a formidable partnership with Erasmo Burrasca in “La Viola's” last World Cup run and will doubtless line up alongside him again. Over the course of recent seasons her performances have impressed to a level that has been compared to Burrasca at his peak, improving not just her bat skills, but also her flying standards.

CHASER – Isabella LORETTO - #4
Age: 30 Height: 5ft9
Description: LORETTO may have passed 30 but remains the domestic league's most dangerous attacker. In fact, the only season Loretto failed to top the scoring charts since the last World Cup was the season she missed due to injury. Opposition defences will know plenty about her, with over 100 goals in World Cup matches, Loretto will probably be in-line for some tight marking!

CHASER – Orlando STRAZZA - #5
Age: 23 Height: 5ft10
Description: STRAZZA was the youngster of the squad in Valdiviola's last foray to the World Cup. Some consistent seasons domestically sees Strazza return as an all-round Chaser who is now as comfortable leading a Quaffle attack as he is muscling in during defence. Valdiviolan fans will hope he can join his partners in setting some goalscoring records at World Cup X.

CHASER – Lola FEBBRAIO (Vice Captain) - #6
Age: 26 Height: 5ft2
Description: FEBBRAIO will be the leader of the Quaffle-play for the players in purple. Alongside Nobile, Febbraio has added numerous trophies to her honours list in recent seasons, so will be confident in her ability to command the Quaffle-play against even the best opponents. Febbraio has received the honour of being named Vice-Captain by coach Azzardo since the disappearance of Evangelina Falco.

SEEKER – Tommaso BAROZZI - #7
Age: 26 Height: 5ft11
Description: BAROZZI has benefitted from the scandal that hit Valdiviola last year to be named in a World Cup squad for the first time. Expected to be named a starter ahead of Selena Caldarini, Barozzi has emerged as a Seeker capable of making catches in every scenario. As tactically aware as he is technically gifted, Barozzi will hope to continue the tradition of Valdiviolan Snitch-snatching success which has seen The Volatori Viola take the Snitch in 12 out of 15 World Cup matches.

RESERVES

KEEPER – Magdalena GUZZETTA
Age: 32 Height: 6ft4

BEATER – Teodoro PELOSO
Age: 26 Height: 6ft0

CHASER – Armando SFERRA
Age: 22 Height: 6ft0

CHASER – Delfina SAVOIA
Age: 28 Height: 5ft4

SEEKER – Selena CALDARINI
Age: 27 Height: 5ft10

COACHING
HEAD COACH – Benedetto AZZARDO
ASSISTANT COACH – Quintino LIBERATORE
PHYSIO – Elenora TAGLIABUE

Basic Information on Banija's Wizarding Community

Banija’s wizarding community is unlike many you would see in other countries across the multiverse. In many countries, their wizarding community is integrated among the general population- hiding in plain slight, as one might call it. Wizards and witches can be drawn from all walks of life, and come from all over their respective countries, living apart geographically although remaining tight-knit in both bond and lineage.

The above of course, does not apply in Banija.

The magical community in Banija consists entirely of members of the Mukegara Tribe. With magic being a (mostly) hereditary trait, it was something that members of this tribe were born with, and have passed on, generation to generation. They have a reputation of a tribe that keeps to themselves, and are located remotely, within the mountains on the eastern border of Banija and Geisenfred(although all on the Banijan side). While, of course, they look like Banijans(all of them are racially black), they are very distinct and separate from the rest of the country.

The Mukegara have protected constitutional status in Banija as a self-governing tribe, the only one in the country, which entitles them to have their own constituency for the Banijan Lukiiko(Parliament). They are also distinct from the average Banijan in many ways. First, Mormonism, the dominant religion among Banijans, simply does not exist for the Mukegara, as missionaries were generally treated with hostility. Secondly, language. While Banijans generally speak Olusanke and English, the Mukegara, except for the ruling class does not speak Olusanke. They speak mostly English and Olugara, the local language. They also have a constitutional right to self-isolation, which is regularly invoked when Banija hosts major sporting tournaments, to completely close off their lands to outsiders. Of course, many Banijans think they are simply backwards and crazy, and leave them alone. The existence of their magic within the country is completely unknown- only the Kabaka(King) of Banija is made aware. They, of course, hold strictly to the International Statute of Secrecy, for fear that they would almost certainly suffer reprisals.

Historically, the Mukegara were almost completely conquered during the Unification Wars, and monarch after Monarch tried to get the Mukegara to submit. The Mukegara were almost wiped out, and shortly before Quebecois colonization, the then Paramount Chief, nearly 200 years ago, sent out explorers to see if there were other magical communities that could assist them. While they ended up reaching an agreement with Banijan authorities which led to their current constitutional situation, they were able to stumble upon wizards in Starblaydia, almost by accident. From then on, the Mukegara established strong ties with the Starblaydian wizarding community that are still strong today.

The Mukegara are led by the Paramount Chief, which is the hereditary leader of the Mukegara Tribe. The Mukegara have a two-tiered education system. One, consisting of ‘muggle education’, has children attend one of two elementary schools on tribal land, ran and operated by tribal schools. In those schools, they receive education in mostly muggle subjects. This is to comply with government regulation and the Banijan constitutional right to education, while maintaining their secrecy. Children attend these schools from age 6-10.

Very recently, the Paramount Chief issued major reforms to the Mukegara education system, due to overcrowding at schools. Before the age 11 school year, all students participate in a placement exam. The top 10 scoring students every year are selected to attend Percyvale Academy in Starblaydia- the goal of basically all Mukegara parents is to send their students to Percyvale Academy. The exam is extremely competitive, and graduation from Percyvale for a member of the Mukegara is a ticket to becoming a lifetime member of the tribe's elite. This has been happening for almost 200 years pursuant an agreement between Percyvale Academy and the Mukegara Tribe. What happens to the rest, is where the major changes have been implemented. They used to all attend Nangobo, but now there has been a change. For age 11-13, all students attend the newly built Lashigo for their first three years of magical education. The Paramount Chief recently created a second school, for the last four years of wizarding education. For years 4-7 of magical education, Half the students go to Nangobo School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, while the other half attend the newly built Kitante(chee-tahn-tey) School of Witchcraft and Wizardry,

It is the Mukegara's connections to Starblaydia that introduced the tribe to the sport of Quidditch. The sport became highly popular at Nangobo, and of course, quickly became the tribe's most popular wizarding sport. In the 8th Quidditch World Cup, they came flying out of the gates(literally), and won their first 9 games on Starblaydian soil, before falling in the tournament final to the Sherpa Empire. THey look to ascend to those heights again in the 10th edition of the Quidditch World Cup.

Quidditch in Darmen: A 13 team amateur league exists, known as the Darmeni Quidditch League. Players are assigned to clubs based on their birth date and the corresponding sign of the Zodiac (Darmeni astrology includes Ophiuchus as a 13th sign). Teams play a single round-robin season, with the team scoring the most points — and not necessarily having the most wins — at the end of the season being declared the champions. Darmeni domestic Quidditch matches are capped at two and a half hours, with no requirement that the Snitch be caught. Indeed, the Snitch can be caught multiple times in a match and nets the team that caught it five points. Additionally, goals are only worth one point. All other rules remain the same as the international standard.

Magic in Darmen: Darmeni wizards have lived openly in Darmen throughout its history, although the use of magic around Muggles is heavily discouraged. Nevertheless, Darmeni wizards will comply with the International Statute of Wizarding Secrecy when traveling in countries where the statute is in effect. As of the 2045 census, there were 2,143 wizards living in Darmen, representing 0.02% of the total population. OOC: Magic in Darmen is a mixture of that described in Harry Potter and the type depicted in the TV Series, Charmed.

RP Permissions: No killing, or other serious life altering events, otherwise, have fun!

Quidditch through the Ages: MXCIII Edition
2039 Darmeni Quidditch League

Founded in the year following Darmen's victory at the 7th Quidditch World Cup, the Darmeni Quidditch League soon established itself as one of the preeminent leagues in the wizarding multiverse. National Team captain Murray Morley was the star of the league, beating opponents into submission while also helping his chasers and seeker score 153 points to win the league. Second place Pisces were hard done by, as their record of 10 wins and two losses was superior to that of Aquarius's 6 wins, 5 losses and a draw, but they came up four points short on the final day.

Quidditch purists, both domestically in Darmen and international observers of the DQL, were quick to express their displeasure at some of the rule changes made for Darmeni domestic matches. But the DQL Headquarters, or DQLHQ, made it clear that some of the rule changes, for instance the matches being limited to two and a half hours, were necessary due to there only being one pitch available in Darmen and six matches to get through each Saturday.

Younger fans didn't seem to care much, as the ʛ3/4/2 (that's $21.50 for you Muggles) priced tickets for the National Quidditch Arena routinely sold out. The DQLHQ was pleased with how the first season went and expressed its hopes that the league would develop the next generation of multiversal Quidditch champions.

The Jovannic National Quidditch Roster
Quidditch is a very popular sport in the wizarding Community of The Jovannic, similar to native Jovannic Sport Zebgout. there are two wizarding schools in The Jovannic, The school of Jo and the school of Horimat. Horimat is the more ancient one while Jo is quite modern. The Jovannic is one of the few countries which Muggles know of wizards, and they get together to solve problems which neither wands nor logic can solve. A muggle version of Quidditch is also popular.

Amenrian National Quidditch Team

Since Amenria's last participation in a multiversal Quidditch tournament, the nation has put together a proper team instead of a rag-tag bunch of people with experience on a hoverbike. Assembled from various provinces, these men and women form the Mechanists. Since magic in Amneria's home universe requires a pact with a ghost or a demon, magic is strictly forbidden. This is why Amnerian Quidditch players ride on hoverbikes and use technology instead of magic.

Basic info:
Trigramme: AMN
Demonym: Amenrian/Asian
Captain: Valeriya Shor
Colours: Black, Cyan

Equipment:

Hoverbike: Team members have the freedom to choose their own models, from domestic ones such as the Wuxing Comet or foreign-made ones such as the Kawasaki Shark, imported from Ascion.

Uniform: Mechanists wear black bodysuits, outfitted with protective plates on the torso, arms, shins, and joints and cyan, glowing lines, pulsating as if following their heartbeat. On their backs are their names and numbers, on their left chest is the team symbol (a side view of robot's head), and their shoulders the nation's coat of arms (the same rhombus and dragon seen in the flag), in the same glowing and pulsating light.

Seeker:
  • Nattayot "Nattie" Chamroon, 22, Female, #12

Keeper:
  • Gao Xinlei, 25, Male, #10

Beaters:
  • Valeriya Shor, 20, Female, #006
  • Im Minho, 19, Male, #43

Chasers:
  • Krishan Vadekar, 17, Male, #3
  • Liu Zhen, 20, Male, #62
  • Cha Eunbi, 18, Female, #38

Permissions: Anything other than murder or making my team cheat is fine, just tell me first.

Esteemed Colleagues,

I am pleased to inform you of the squad that the Centre is again providing a team of the Quidditch World Cup. The world-famous team comes from the Starblaydi Quidditch Sunday League (known as the SQSL, or 'Squizzle') and, as such, are the finest exponents of the great 'sport of warlocks' known to us. Though we are, of course, hidden within Starblaydia we are, nonetheless, proud of the nation in which we live and the team will strive to match that pride with their sporting performances. Champions of the inaugural World Cup, the Starblaydi team are looking for a high-placed finish. Listed below are the players we are again sending forth to compete, as well as a brief description regarding each one, as well as the noble House they played for at the famous Percyvale Academy of Wizardry and Witchcraft. Starblaydia will play in the traditional predominantly-purple robes, also detailed below.

Keeper
• Wearing the Number One cloak and keeping goals for Starblaydia will be Enrique Esposito, who plays for the Fox's Irregulars Quidditch Club. A highly-capable Keeper who played for Montfort House, he is an excellent Quaffle-stopper. He is also Starblaydia's Captain.

Chasers
Harkon Vekkinen is the Chaser with the Number Two cloak, who plays for the ancient Jhani Cavalry side. A Montfort House Quidditch Captain in his time, he is an accomplished tackler.
• The only Witch on the team, Jennifer Havaland, wears the Number Three cloak. Formerly Head Girl of the Coraluna House, her passing is second to none in the entire land; a prized asset of the Neveheim Arsenal Witches side.
Rudyard Rumplebottom is oft-quoted as saying 'Rumplebottom's the name, goal-scoring's the game'. As such the bearer of our Number Four cloak is the Wizard most likely to be tallied on the scoring scroll. Formerly of House Leoric, he plays for Montepool County Quidditch Club.

Beaters
• Bearing the Number Five cloak is Alfred Grompton, once of Qucksilver House, who's shots with Bludgers are as complex as they are devastating. Currently plays for the Beverington Hawksworth School Old Boys side, where he teaches Arithmancy.
George Huxtable, descended from the great Leoric Huxtable, is another Leoric House member with a keen eye for an accurate swing at a Bludger. Plays for the Penningworth County Quidditch Club and wears the Number Six cloak.

Seeker
• Xantian The Eagle-Eyed, preferably known as Xantian will be the team's Seeker, wearing the Number Seven cloak. A Leoric House member if ever there was one, Xantian is eagle-eyed (figuratively rather than literally) and occasionally even reckless in his single-minded pursuit of the Golden Snitch. Caught every single snitch asked of him to take the World Championship in the 1st edition. Currently plays for Montepool County Quidditch Club.

Robes
A crude depiction (the most we could manage for this scroll, I'm afraid) of the Starblaydi team follows:

Should any replacements be required in between matches due to unfortunate 'incidents', they will be named and dispatched to the Percyvale Academy as and when appropriate.

GYATSO-KAI NATIONAL QUIDDITCH TEAM

The Avatarian Republics of Gyatso-kai has formed their first National Quidditch Team, and has sent the team, known as the ‘Flying Bisons’ (飞野牛 , Fēiyěniú , Tra’vheti’nerf) to the great nation of Taeshan to compete in the Tenth Edition of the Quidditch World Cup.

Official Name: Gyatso-kai National Quidditch Team / 凯海洋国家飞球运动队 (Kaihaiyáng Guójia Guójia Fēiqiúyùndòng Duì) / Gyat’kai Tsad’droten Tra'rugam'geroya Traat’aliit
Country Code: GKI
Officiating League” The Avatarian Collegiate Sports Association
Founded: 1905 (11 ARk)
World Cup Record: 0-0-0 (FIRST Appearance)
World Rank: Unranked
Nickname: The Flying Bisons

The Roster

When RP'ing, the name of my players in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS AND BOLD are the player's family names. These are the names on their jersey and the name professional commentators would call out when making observations. Also, do not write the names in all capital letters, as this is somewhat annoying when reading; I just imagine someone reading calmly along then suddenly SHOUTING the player's name. For example, if writing about FENG Shaoli making a long shot, one would write "Feng made a long shot..." as opposed to "FENG made a long shot..." If you have any further questions regarding names, please feel free to telegram me.

The Starting Seven has been named. Alternates will be named at a later date.

No.	Position	Name Age	Gender	Lineage .
1 Keeper CHENG Roku 20 Male Jinjian House
2 Chaser TANAKA Koji 19 Male Huomao House
3 Chaser SATO Sachie 21 Female Mugong House
4 Chaser ITO Ayaka 19 Female Jinjian House
5 Beater Mav'ke BRALOR 18 Male Shuigundong House
6 Beater Adlartok AKLAQ 20 Male Mugong House
7 Seeker Iviin RAM'SER 20 Female Tupingbi House

Given the age of the players on Gyatso-kai’s first Quidditch team, it is not surprising to find the team is comprised entirely of under-21 players in their final years at the Avatarian primary school, the Mofahuojian Hall of Wizardy and Magic. Also, with no professional league for the sport of Quidditch across Gyatso-kai, for many of these players, the hopes of forming such a league rest on their performance in the World Cup.

WORLD CUP LIFT-OFF IMMINENT
IL GIORNALIERO PREVIEWS THE RUNNERS & RIDERS IN TAESHAN

The tenth instalment of the Quidditch World Cup is about to begin, and what a tournament it looks set to be! No fewer than four former champions will be in attendance including last times winners Sarzonia, looking to defend their title. There is also the 15 new nations making their debuts to get to know in matchday 1 and beyond, so there's plenty for fans of the flyingest sport in the universe to be excited about. The Volatori Viola go into this World Cup with the highest win percentage of any team in attendance but will face some tough challenges if they are to go further than they've been before. Here's our summary of some of the key nations to keep tabs on as the World Cup progresses - from the big-hitters who will expect to reach the latter stages, to the minnows who might just pull off an upset or two...

It would be remiss not to begin with the defending champions from World Cup IX, Sarzonia. They're old hands at this World Cup lark, having achieved back-to-back third place finishes in the early days of the Cup. They know how to peak at the right time and are in La Viola's group so all eyes will be on that early matchup to see how the title-holders are shaping up this time around.

Hosts Taeshan are another giant of the game with eyes on the prize in home skies. The only nation to have participated in every World Cup to date have never won the tournament but remain the first and only nation to play in over 50 World Cup matches so experience is most definitely on their side even if they've never won the World Cup's most important match.

The title for "winningest" nation in Cup history belongs to Starblaydia. The nation's relationship with the World Cup is amongst the longest of anyone, having won the inaugural championship way=back-when, and the nation is also the only one to host the tournament on more than one occasion. They haven't been past the Quarter-finals since their Cup win all those years ago but having won more matches than any other team present 'til now, expect this team to make it deep into the tournament.

A number of other big teams are certainly worth keeping an eye on but for fans of the newcomers, the team with the pedigree to go all the way despite being only recent additions to the World Cup are Banija. Quarter-finalists last time, and defeated Finalists in World Cup VIII, this nation would be a popular champion if they were to lift the trophy at the end of this.

Fans looking for an underdog to support need look no further than Jeckland who return to the world stage after years in obscurity. The nation has never won a World Cup match so every neutral will be willing this nation to victory in a group of debutants. Speaking of debutants - did you know that 6 of the 9 World Cups have been won by teams who have never featured before? That just goes to show that anyone can be victorious in sport's greatest tournament - "you've got to be in it to win it", and Valdiviola are very much "in it"!

In a previous era, magical people held a precarious status in Delaclava. The wizards had a pivotal role both in the founding of Delaclava and in numerous relocations of the landmass to regions around the world. Yet due to their incomprehensible power, they are viewed with great suspicion, and ruling forces have frequently been able and willing to complicate the lives of wizards, if not outright persecute them, due to their standing as a highly capable yet greatly feared minority.

Even the 2nd Quidditch World Cup, hosted in Delaclava itself, was held largely in secret. The tournament was held only in Valhalla, the northernmost mega-island province of Delaclava, and numerous remote island chains to the southeast. The captain of that team, Chaser Anthony Christensen, had in his youth been tried for heresy and inciting panic the first time he had attempted to create a national Quidditch programme. His teammates brought with them not only remarkable talent, but also similar stories of punishment and isolation.

Wizarding society at the time was somewhat crumbling: their methods had become less sophisticated, which meant that many in the community were caught and had their powers suppressed. The Quidditch team was similarly low-tech, and relied on heart, guts, and pure athleticism. Yet that alone took them to an undefeated run which saw them lift the trophy in front of a small yet adoring crowd in Valhalla.

But there was no doubt that Delaclava's own wizarding community had helped the greater magical world. The World Cup in Delaclava was the first that had been held by a legitimate and distinguished host, and their successful efforts brought the Cup to the community at large. Delaclava's diplomacy also brought the game to their Cyanean neighbors in Sarzonia, who would finish third in the very same Cup - and play to a historic draw in the semifinal against Delaclava, which prompted a replay - take another third-place finish on the next go-round, and now sit as the defending champions. The nations who now find success at the QWC are the same nations who have made a great impact in all the other major sports contested in the world.

When Delaclava entered its own isolation, life was now increasingly restricted for all citizens. Like any great innovator, the wizards of Delaclava took these limitations in strides for a new movement of creativity and development. While most of Delaclava's people experienced more than fifty years of separation from the outside world, the Delaclav magical community was thriving once again within only a few years. And when Delaclava's government sought to bring former colonies and allied nations under the same umbrella, many of these new areas were chock-full of wizards and witches - Firinsymnia, Senzymnia, Blah-dee-blah, and the Forgotten Army, to name a few. The non-magical side of Delaclava is looking to rebuild its networks now, but magical Delaclava is already up and running - or perhaps, flying.

The Delaclav government is aware of this, and they have set up relations with the wizarding community, to ensure mutual well-being and assist one another in times of a crisis. However, it's been decided as best to live and let live. The wizards and witches have been far more able to live secretly from the non-magical people with ease, and thus have been quite content to either keep to themselves or blend in.

So it's now a calmer, more confident, at-peace wizarding community that exist in Delaclava. Schools, hospitals, governments, and villages flourish right under the nose of the non-magical people right beside them. That leaves a group of seven immensely talented Quidditch players - led by Millie Price, from the "foreign" territory of Firinsymnia - who have been able to spend all their time honing their craft, with fear of interference.

This is a modern era for Delaclava, fitted with a modern Quidditch team that is well-equipped to take on a competition that has greatly evolved since the last time they entered.

The Flying Phoenixes are ready. Play Quaffle.

The Fraternal Phoenix

Another Quidditch World Cup is upon us, and the eyes (and ears and Omnioculars) of the magical community turn to Taeshan where thirty-two nations are set to compete. Once again, Zwangzug will field an all-star team draw from its disparate domestic sides. This past season, The Padix Porlocks edged out the Giordano Gheppi by slim jargins, with the Surairo Serpents a close third. The Porlocks, and the national side, continue to be led by the ageless Matthias Vanderwaal. [My editor has asked me to clarify that he has an age, just like everyone else. Only on account of wizards and witches aging slowly and...you know, magic thing...he hasn't felt the need to specify it.] Anyway, Zwangzug continue to be a defensive-minded side, with the tough-minded Keeper their key player. The captaincy, however, traditionally goes to a player more integrated with the game as a whole, and Enzo Bartali of the Gheppi continues to hold that position.

Two new Chasers have joined the side; Susan Ashcont, from Ildynia District, and Mēfū Ōmhun from the Picksall Islands. The "Loons" (Pokuhindi) have soared into the top seven this past season, led by Ōmhun and her fellow macron-endowed islanders. The islands aren't necessarily large to have much of a magical enclave, although the pitch is of course remote; magicians live in relatively close proximity to no-Mags, however, with a common language and culture in many cases bridging the magical divide. Like many other parts of Zwangzug, the islanders are even familiar with Quidditch, which they know as kedēge (from the root words for "broom" and "ball,") albeit as an intramural sport played by college students who cannot fly. While they might not follow her as she and the side mumpwē (vacation, holiday) to Taeshan, hopefully their home support will inspire her and the others to new heights.
