(Couldn't fit that last question mark sorry)
I just noticed that mods *always* use bold and a different color when soft-warning someone. Why is that?
Is it intimidation, or making the post stand out, or something different?

Reploid Productions wrote:Basically what Nanatsu already said. We use the bold, colored text mainly for unofficial warnings and generally Ominous Looms so that it stands out and grabs attention, though different mods prefer different colors for this and it's not uniform.
For official actions, that's where we use the *** really obnoxious warning BBCode *** to make it screamingly clear that an official smacking is taking place, whether for an official warning or harsher action like a ban or a DEAT. It has a uniform appearance because it uses a specific BBCode:(And no, DO NOT use it yourself, you'll get smacked for mod impersonation!)

[warn]blah blah warning text here[/warn]
And some quick trivia while we're here: The mod-warning BBCode is actually designed so that its visual affect cannot completely be replicated through any other combination of BBCodes since it changes the font and adds a thick black border around the text block. The closest you can get is a combination of white, bold, and background codes, but there is no way to duplicate the black border effect or change the font.
Not even slapping it inside a table can properly mimic the warn code.
