If you are living in a neighborhood which is mainly your religion, and become a jewelry store owner in the area, and retire happily, you don't really need to mingle.
Take Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY. Most of the Jews n the area don;t even have smart phones, sticking to a flip-phone, and revolving around their own world.
And what happens when there is an economic downturn and you are forced to move?
Or when your self contained neighbourhood gets new people moving to the area who are not of your faith?
Or when you want to travel?
Or when you need to deal with the Government or law enforcement?
Studying your religion and only you're religion is just ignorant. And will make life a hell of a lot harder. Not only that, such education, as we have seen countless times over, increases the chances of fundamentalism and violent behaviour.
Then you can move to an area that has the same religion as you!
You want to travel? Don't.
Need to deal with gov? Ask peopel in your relig that had the same thing about what they needed to do and learn with them.
