These rules describe the process of founding a nation, expanding said nation through posts and map claims, and all additional forms of expansion. You may also include your capital in your founding post, or otherwise whenever you desire, but it must also be clearly indicated on the included image.
Establishment:
Newly formed nations may make a founding post which entitles them to a single hex sector claim of land, which must be clearly portrayed in an image format on the map. All founding posts must be at least 600 words long in order to be accepted. Each founding claim on the map thread must include an image and a link to the Regional Message Board post, which will be accepted if valid (i.e. good quality writing, follows regional expectations, adheres to lore).
You can find the URL of your RMB post separately by clicking the timestamp of your post and then copying the new URL address. Please use this link for the map thread and no other RMB links.
Expansion:
Expansion is identical to a founding claim. It must also be portrayed in an easily identifiable image format, and be at least 600 words to be accepted.
- Expansions are limited at three hex sectors per week, at an expansion rate of 600 words minimum for each post, separately. The Hex Sector map is the only valid map usable for map claims.
- Map updates are weekly, every Sunday, or otherwise ASAP.
- The expansion limit is 50 hexes, counted by total land area of all combined hexes.
- Land cannot be given to another player, either by bequeathment, or any other form that does not require an equivalent number of expansion posts, or special consideration from the regional administration.
- Puppets are permitted but must be declared or it is a bannable offense. A puppet and a main nation are both counted as one in consideration of the member, which means only three total expansions per week is allowed.
Taking Land from Other Players
Expansions into other players’ lands is permitted in some circumstances, whether it be through a military intervention leading to temporary occupation or permanent annexation, or through in-character purchases and diplomatic deals. However all such posts, or any post that interacts with another player’s lore and nation in a significant way, must follow a RP Consent Clause.
- All parties involved in an RP post must agree with the events of the RP beforehand, and consent to all in-character actions and outcomes of the posts.
- All players/nations involved in a post or series of posts must be consulted with. Secret alliances and military cooperation in order to attack a nation is not permitted if out-of-character agreement and knowledge was not given.
- Occupying or annexing land from another player’s nation, regardless of how, is still considered an expansion and must follow expansion rules and the map update cycle.
- Players may not assist themselves with their own puppet in a war, as this is a conflict of interest and unbalances the interactive element of the RP.
