Thus parliament passed several acts increasing military spending and pegging it to 3% of GDP in order to beef up Australia's military capabilities to levels sufficient to address any and all national security concerns including steps taken to boost the native Australian military-industrial complex. In addition, a tougher line with China has continued.

Major Foreign Issues - International instability, instability in the middle east.
Pre-2024 History - In October 2019, Turkey invaded Syria and siezed and occupied Rojava. This further placed it at odds with the west as it attempted to distance itself from NATO. The occupation went ahead, however, with Kurdish forces either escaping Syria to Iraq or being crushed under the boots of the Turks. Turkey contraversially authorised the deportation of hundreds of suspected Kurdish terrorists to Syria, where they faced extrajudicial torture and execution.
Turkey initially funded Al-Nusra and other islamist groups to fight against Kurdish militias and the Assad regime in Syria, however began to cut ties in order to get closer to Russia in 2022, notably refusing to condemn the annexation of Virumaa and refusing to join CESOOT. Turkey was looking to seek Russia as its main ally and protector after the end of the USA's involvement in most international affairs under the Hampton administration.
Turkey is becoming increasingly authoritarian and conservative, looking to remove term limits entirely for its President, and finding itself at a crossroad of European, Russian, and Iranian powers in this new era.

Major Domestic Issues - Child poverty and immigrant integration. Polarization. Opposition to wind power. Opposition to toll booths. Opposition to Europe. Opposition to defense agreement/weapon industry/war. General lack of trust in politicians. Rise of anti-environmentalism.
Major Foreign Issues - National security, obtaining a defense agreement. Usage of oil industry to push foreign policy.
Pre-2024 History - The 2019 "Protest elections" was only the start of the anti-establishment movements in Norway. An 8-year long rule of a conservative government had soon reached its end. People were fed up with the expansion of wind power, centralization, forced mergers of counties, and general lack of new ideas. The 2021 Troll A oil spill was the final nail in the coffin, and the green party saw a massive voter increase. As expected the country now found itself with a center-left government, promising to protect Norwegian industry, phase out the oil, and increase welfare. Although the coalition was rather popular, political analysist worry about Une's inexperience as a politician, and increased polarization around single issues, such as immigration, road tolls and approaches to the oil industry. The 2025 parliamentary election is expected to yet again surpass the colorful 2021 election, as the worst ever for the established political parties.
