It’s about stability and externalities. An overly large financial sector has incentives to be unstable. Corporations have perverse incentives to play the stock market without actually generating any more economic activity. Reminder that the greatest driver of any economy is aggregate demand, not supply, and in the US, that demand is consumer spending in particular. An overly large financial sector is hostile to both of those things.
I think this big financial institution is very dangerous.Last year, US investment banks began selling CDO, CDS again. It seems that one lesson is not enough.
The system is too complex and has too many components. The stock market is just a part of it.What do they sell?CDO,CDS,MBS,SM-MBS,MBS-CDO and others.CDS?The genius of Wall Street! They even insured the CDO!WTF!How many talents do they have to fall to the ground?
Finally, if you buy a financial product, its leverage can reach dozens of times. If you leverage all the links, you'll be doomed. That's why it happened in 2008.Now they're doing it again.
All I see is greed. The purpose of this system is to rob other people's money.
