There are any number of reasons one might have sex without protection, chief among them being improper education and lack of access. A person does not necessarily have unprotected sex specifically for the purposes of procreation.

Innocence is subjective. If you want to reduce the number of abortions, banning the procedure will not work. Finding ways to reduce the number of unplanned pregnancies, or reducing the burden of an unplanned pregnancy to aid in keeping it from becoming an unwanted pregnancy would go a lot further, and would not disrupt anyone’s rights in the process.
