creative writing was horror for me
european literature, on the other hand, fucking amazing
which is really funny since there's even more creative writing than in creative writing

Can confirm.Purgatio wrote:
Which is a little weird, isn't it? For people who enjoy rping fictional storylines in an online forum?
It's just nobody wants to be told how to do it. Part of the charm is each individual perspective winding together rather than the monotony of a shared formula.

Well, I didn't really see it that way. I mean, sure, there'll be a teacher and all, but there's no need to listen to them, and the class would have been a great opportunity for different rpers here to express their own view of how to approach creative writing.

Aren't we already doing that simply by being here?

I guess so. But I'm just saying I don't see why a creative writing class has to be some teacher imposing a script or formula on the students/rpers, rather than a more open space or dialogue for the different characters to share their own stories or ways of writing or coming up with stories. That's all.

Fair enough.

I think we should just have one vote where everyone picks their favourite three classes, then you'll sort the seven classes with the most votes. Or something like that. You can see a lot of people picked Creative Writing for 2nd Period but practically no one picked it for 3rd.

I know this would take more time, but honestly this is why I'd rather we voted period-by-period. Its just a little annoying because if you vote for one class in Period X and no one else has voted for that class, but then you find a lot of people voted for that in Period Y, you have to keep changing your vote or it gets wasted. Whereas if we voted for each period's class, one-at-a-time, people would have a chance to vote for a class they like if it lost for a previous period.

Or this, yeah, but it will take a lot of time.
