Cool, thanks.

Bill won two terms. Obama (whose campaign was more to the centre than Biden's is) won two terms. Gore came very close.

Kerry was facing an incumbant during a period of economic growth and the war on terror, no Democrat would've won.
Hillary was an outlier and in part a victim of 20 years of far-right conspiracies.

McGovern ran against an unpopular Nixon in the midst of the Vietnam War and Watergate, and won only 17 electoral votes. UK voters sent Corbyn to the shadow realm, giving Labour their worse loss since the 1930s. Tony Blair won a landslide victory and was in power for a decade. The Median Voter Theorem is a real thing you know.

Obama was seen as someone so left wing he could never win. Interestingly also had overwhelming youth support. Republicans tried everywhere to smear everyone as a socialist and it didn't work in the Midwest. Gore, Kerry, and Hillary follow the long trend of Dems nominating boring centrists with no appeal at all and then wondering why they lost.

Obama won because the Bush Administration imploded under the weight of two unpopular wars and a global economic crisis, not because he was super left wing. You're correct, the Republican preference to call all Democrats socialists tends to water down the effect...unless the person their talking about thinks "Castro was really big on reading!" is a worthy hill to die on.

Meanwhile Bernie looks to be setting his own trend of appealing to everyone except people who actually vote.

AP is calling North Dakota for Sanders though it doesn't matter: Sanders is done.

But amazing, Biden won every county in Michigan, Missouri, and Mississippi; Sanders won a majority in Michigan back in 2016. Not only that, but Sanders got less votes in 2020 then in 2016 while Biden grew his base more. Or as the NYT puts it:

Michigan exposed the flaws in Sanders’s electability case: Attacking the “establishment” lost him the suburbs, he couldn’t win progressive enclaves, and rural white voters abandoned him for Biden.

Sanders could not expand his base and in fact, it has regressed. My assessment is blunt, but it's the truth: Sanders is not as strong as a candidate we all thought, especially since he couldn't reach these key groups such as Suburban voters (particularly women), African Americans, and older voters.

Purity and Principles matter to them and for that, I can't fault them: they're at least preserving their integrity. But their inflexibility to compromise and toxicity by a small group is why they'll keep losing. Sanders' run for the White House is effectively over, and there's no one for them to blame this time.

Democrats are conservatives, only relatively less so than their GOP counterparts. They're perfectly willing to set our future on fire if they can get away with it by engaging in publicity stunts like Pelosi ripping up Trump's speech (and still voting for his budgets). They cater to some notion of "being moderate" which, for example, entails that only some people should die or go bankrupt from lack of healthcare. Their policies are for the most part not transformative, only ever so slightly incremental. A lot of people are rightfully tired of having to play their game. As for judges, it's not like Democrats go around proposing super liberal picks (Merrick Garland being the most prominent example, and he's generally considered a centrist).

It isn't over for Sanders if he does exceptionally well the next round of states, enough so to retake the delegate lead. I'll admit as much however, that if Biden's lead grows by much more, it is over for the Progressive camp.

He shouldn't drop out until the math makes it impossible to catch up, and another reason to stay in is for one last debate that could turn things around or illustrate that Biden doesn't have what it takes to win the General against Trump.

I'd say Sanders would be even more of a loser if he quits early as opposed to going down fighting. If he can still win (however narrowly) this shouldn't be squandered.

Democrats are not conservatives. In any real sense of the word. Even the most conservative among them are radically left wing.

They just don't look like it when standing next to the lunatic who took his honeymoon in the fucking USSR.

No. You just have to deal with being arrested for exercising your most basic rights.

Is that really worth the 55%+ income tax burden that Denmark has however? Americans are probably the sort whom want to keep more of their own money and for the government to be less involved across the board.

Why pay for other people's higher education if they can borrow money or get someone to pay their way if they're genuinely talented/capable enough for a college scholarship? If their education pays off, they should be able to pay it off with ease- theoretically anyways.

So far as healthcare goes, the people in the US don't trust the government to not screw it up like they did for student loans or social security, which aren't going well whatsoever. A half measure in the form of the ACA is being tried but if that completely collapses, then maybe single payer will be tried. But very wealthy types will still want a way to pay for access to faster treatment and not wait for months for elective procedures like might happen in Canada.

It is only primarily because the system of private healthcare with private insurers is working so poorly, that people have or are losing faith in it and are open to different solutions that other countries might be doing.

Not necessarily.
I live in CA, for example. My hypothetical vote for the presidency doesn’t matter, and so I’d vote Green.

Honestly, we should start numbering our votes, from who we want to who we least want. If your candidate loses, its moves the vote to the your second choice. That way we get rid of the spoiler effect. Been a stain on american politics for far to long. Its allowed both these bloated parties to exist for far too long

Ah, good old rank voting. It honestly would be such a great system. Unfortunately, it's too complex, and it'll be tough to explain in the United States. Still, it's worth to educate the people on: they already do it in parts of Maine.

So I guess the DNC is rigging this election for Trump to win? Biden has Dementia. Putting him on stage is practically elder abuse. Upcoming Debates have been canceled, rules changed at last second so that Gabbard cannot participate and even changed so that it's not a debate at all, but rather a QnA. Way too fishy. They are obviously rigging it for biden to win the primaries.

So, does Biden have the Big Mo? Or is it still early?
“Never believe that [fascists] are completely unaware of the absurdity of their replies. They know that their remarks are frivolous, open to challenge. But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words. The [fascists] have the right to play. They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors. They delight in acting in bad faith, since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert. If you press them too closely, they will abruptly fall silent, loftily indicating by some phrase that the time for argument is past.”
