@Governor_Chambers set a new moral low in presidential campaigning today. I like to think that neither Nate and I, nor any of the Democratic candidates, would dare say anything so vulgar, predatory and cruel. The American people reward decency and civility. We have not seen those qualities reflected with this disgusting 'chemotherapy' remark.

Sectoral bargaining. A repeal-and-replace of the PATRIOT Act. Protecting workers from the automation blitz with government-backed retraining accounts. Ending child poverty with an expansion of the Child Tax Credit. A plan for public-private partnerships to combat the climate crisis. An end to endless war.

@FrankDoyle

A $15 dollar minimum wage is only useful for workers who still have a job. We can only start a debate on protecting constitutional amendments if we fix our existing Orwellian laws. And none of this matters in a world ravaged by storms, irregular weather patterns, famines, and the threat of nuclear war.

For the Democratic Party, for the people of Oregon, and for the entire country: we need to keep our priorities straight. Let's work together to find common ground, common solutions, and common humanity to #FixTheFuture.

"I do think that the spirit of Baginsky - who I backed - needs to be the centrepiece of the Democratic party. Baginsky spoke up for the working man and woman, and I think a progressive candidate such as himself would be very good indeed.

Ben nodded, listening intently. "It is certainly not too late to add you as a cosponsor, your support is deeply appreciated and needed. The civil rights advocates in our party need to stick together."

He stopped for a second before continuing. "Representative, I understand the direction our party is going in. We need someone who sticks up for the little guy, someone who doesn't abandon his principles without caving to rigidity and partisanship. Someone who can actually make a difference. For me, race relations and civil rights are my number one issue. I need Congressional allies with knowledge on how we can solve the prevalent and intertwined issues of race and economic injustice. I guess that's why I'm here, Representative. I'm looking for your support and to take your constant advice in shaping my policy positions."

Ben Little 2020 Rally
Miami, Florida

Ben arrived in the morning in Florida, where he was hoping to emerge with a vast delegate majority that would also set him up for a good fight in the general election. Ben was trying to build connections with big donors in Florida, so his campaign was first was hosting a luncheon at the Baltimore Hotel in Miami, which not coincidentally shared a name with his own hometown. Tickets ranged from $700 for simple attendance, $1,000 for a photo with the Senator, and $2,800 for a private reception afterwards. Ben arrived at the lunch, where he delivered a speech thanking the guests and laying down his vision for a country based on principles and bipartisan action where something could actually get done. In attendance were mostly venture capitalists, private equity firm executives, and some capital management employees. Financial executives galore.

Afterwards, he arrived at his main event for the day in the evening, which was a rally in a well-designed warehouse that they had rented out, with Cuban decorations and some people selling merhandise.

"Hey everybody, thanks for showing up here today! I cannot tell you how grateful I am. If I had told that little black boy living in pre-Civil Rights Baltimore that today I'd be running for president with the support of people like you, he would think I was crazy."

"The truth is, the occupant of the White House wants to change our society. He wants us to think that people like me don't belong. Because it's the White House, you see? There's no room for black people, no room for immigrants like you guys here in Florida, no room for anybody who doesn't look and sound like the old white man. He wants to alienate us, split us up, so that at the end of the day, the Wolfs of the world come out on top."

"We can't win this game with more division. No, that's the president's tactic. We can only retake our country from the white nationalists who are holding it hostage by uniting everybody, from all walks of life. When Christians like myself come together with Muslims and Jews and Hindus and Buddhists, when black people like myself come together with whites and Asians and Latinos, when we cross generational divides and sexual divides and gender divides, we become a stronger nation. America First doesn't mean White Men First. It means putting All of the People first."

"We need a president who is ready to tackle inequality in all of its forms, whether it is manifested economically or even more importantly, racially. Not a single presidential candidate on the Democratic side is focused on issues related to race in our country. That is shameful. Absolutely shameful. We cannot follow this racist president with someone who ignores the national crisis of racism in our nation, or with someone who couldn't give a damn about black folks."

"My entire life has been dedicated to serving the marginalized. I'm not from an elite family, and I am not from a political dynasty. I wasn't wealthy. I was from a black family in the pre-Civil Rights era, when racism was institutionalized by law. I know how bad it can be, and I don't like the place we're returning to."

"This spirit of service extends to how I serve my people. I don't ignore issues like gun violence. Black boys are being gunned down in the streets of our inner cities by the police, but even more by fellow Americans. I have joined with a member of the other party, Governor Nathaniel Richardson, to combat that. We've rolled out a plan to spend an unprecedented amount to combat urban violence in a targeted manner that has yielded results everywhere it has been tried. That's the same spirit of problem solving that I'll bring to the presidency. I won't just be bipartisan for the sake of bipartisanship. I'll be bipartisan to help the people."

"Because here's the truth, guys. Our Congress is only bipartisan when it works for the very wealthy and powerful. We pass tax cuts for the top one percent, but we ignore the single black mother who is working ten times as hard as some bigshot corporate lobbyist. We fund every war we can, but we ignore communities like Flint that still don't have clean drinking water. That ends with my administration. We will be by and for the people, like our founding fathers promised."

"And I will be the first candidate to say, right here, right now: it is past time to provide reparations to every person in this country who has been held back by the lasting injustice of slavery. I have introduced legislation very soon to establish a commission to explore how to best provide reparations. But we need to focus on the goal as well. I've already introduced legislation for baby bonds, which would provide poor kids with a massive lump sum to spend on college or home ownership. It would dramatically reduce the racial wealth gap."

"I also know what it's like to lose someone, to fight so hard in the medical system and then have your loved one go. My wife died of colon cancer four years ago, but at least she was taken good care of and our life savings were not depleted. For half of cancer patients, that isn't the reality. I'll fight for a healthcare system that is affordable and efficient for all of us, with a workable public option like the one operated by the German government that effectively covers everybody in our country. Not a mandatory single payer system where we're forced to buy something we don't want - that's what they did in Cuba! And we know how that turned out.”

"This ain't all talk. I've got the experience, both personal and political, to implement my plans and know the stakes. I'll compromise details to get things done, but I won't compromise away our shared humanity."

"Thank you, may God bless you, and may God bless America. All of America."

I think all Americans will rightly be appalled by the poorly chosen analogy used by Governor Chambers, particularly in the context of attacking the President's trade policy. Whilst Governor Chambers has apologised and acknowledged his actions, I implore the Governor to do the morally correct act and reconsider his candidacy at this present time.

Levi Murphy Rally
Los Angeles, California
Image

Once the first four states began, it would not be long until Super Tuesday was within their sights. The Senator was planning a long game, all the way to the convention, should his support hold up throughout the year and into 2020. Levi's team was mostly happy, strong polling numbers with room to grow and strong fundraising, only second to Tim Westra. With the release of his Green New Deal, Levi was hoping to ride on the curtails of the climate change vote, in which many Californian voters were concerned about. New promotional material released from the presidential campaign pitched Levi as the Climate Change Candidate, reading: "Levi for Climate Action!". It was true, his Green New Deal was bold, possibly surpassing the plan announced by Senator Westra long ago. For his first stump in California, the team organised a large rally in Los Angeles.

"Hello! It's time to bring change to Washington D.C., everyone. That's because the globe around us in rapidly changing and the United States government is not adapting with it. One of these issues is the matter of climate change - one of the most important issues of our time - and we cannot slip and lose this election because that means we will have another four years of climate denialism. While it affects the coasts of California, to the East Coast, there is also a dire impact on our farmers who are facing harder growing conditions and reduced rainfall. This is a matter for all Americans, regardless of where they live in the union, because in my eyes, an injury to one is an injury to all. To let our people down in this global battle against climate change would be a disservice. Except, I believe there is even more on the line. The planet is on the line. We want a world that our children's children can enjoy, not left with the scraps that we left behind. Like all parents, I want to leave a healthy, livable planet for our children. That world is possible, the only thing standing in our way is the reluctance to do anything about it.

As one the largest polluters in the world, as presidential candidates, we must have a policy on climate change. I stand strongly behind my recently released policy, the Green New Deal. The Green New Deal takes heavy inspiration from the New Deal of Franklin D. Roosevelt, as it mobilizes the American populace and industry in the fight against climate change, like we did the fascist invaders in the 1940s. What this means is a transformation to 100% renewable energy by 2045, and in turn, a renewable sector that employs upwards of fifteen-million people in many of the towns and cities that have been left behind in the neoliberal projects of the 80s and 90s. The work on renewable energies have already begun in much of Europe, we can take a look at Germany as a prime example of that. While the coal industry in the Rhine shut its doors, not a single miner or associated worker lost their job. That's true. That's the kind of transition plan that I'm interested in. One that puts workers and the environment first, because they're not diametrically opposed to each other. That's the future that I am going to fight for.

There is more, however, that needs to be done on the environment. Such as protecting our air and water, some of the major cities like Los Angeles are haunted by air pollution due to lack of regulation and oversight. This means clouded and unhealthy cities for our children, that's not the kind of society that I would stand for. The kind of society I believe in is one that puts people first, including our environment, because a healthy environment is a healthy populace. Protect our air and water with stronger regulations and prevent the theft from water bottling companies seeking to steal our natural riches. To protect the environment, it also means making the Environmental Protection Agency strong again, not beholden to big oil and gas that currently hold the positions of power in the agency. Clean out the EPA, give it teeth again and put real scientists and environmentalists into the EPA. It's that simple.

We're going to ban fracking, protect indigenous lands from pipelines (including the Keystone pipeline) and improve local consultation on these matters. Too often it is the big polluters that call the shots in government - not if I'm President. The big polluters can face repercussions for what they have done to the environment and I want to hold them accountable for lying to us for decades about climate change. It is criminal, so it should be treated criminally. That's why I'm running for President, to work on an environment that works for the many, not the few that lobby our government."

Gordano and Lysandus wrote:Governor Jonah Prendergast Jr
Sunday 31st March
Missouri

The Governor was visiting Missouri and Arkansas this week in order to reward and respond to the glowing endorsements he had received from Senators Anderson and Slater. The first of those visits would be Missouri which - being inherently closer to Iowa - was easiest for him to hop to after his last day of campaigning.

Springfield, whose metropolitan area stretches across Christian, Dallas, Greene, Polk and Webster counties, was a fabulous contradiction of the usual pattern. Urbanized and hosting three universities, it was - nonetheless - the largest part of Missouri to vote for a Republican in the last midterm elections. A populous Republican hotbed, making an impression here would stand Jonah in good stead for winning this state down the line.

He began his day with another series of visits to industry and business - and that’d actually start with something which other candidates might have seen as mundane or beneath them. He went to Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart served Springfield as its third biggest employer, employing over three thousand in the metropolitan area, and so it was a prime target to show he was on their side. He cleared his activities with managers first, before going to help some shelf-stackers with their work, letting them vent their anxieties about their work. Pay came up often, and he made a note that - if he won the primary - pay would be something he’d have to tackle. Pay would win him the election, he was reasonably certain. Nonetheless, showing her could come down to these people’s level (even if he struggled to competently fulfil the physical element of that) was another exercise in his humility and understanding with ordinary American workers.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a true Prendergast visit without taking in some heavy industry. The Springfield Remanufacturing Corporation was worth $400 million a year, and employed 1,600 personnel. Rebuilding and tuning up high performance engines, it was interesting to see the minutiae of their mechanics, along with rubbing shoulders with its workers. The automotive industry swept across the whole of the Midwest, and Jonah had gone to lengths to identify himself with these people, encouraging them, listening to them, and all-around being that grandfatherly figure once more.

After this, he would hold a small rally at Missouri State University with Senator Anderson, who would be given time to give a speech of his own and introduce him before he spoke, addressing a rough grouping of the more conservative-leaning, Wolf-supporting student brethren. A rare breed, perhaps, but not one he couldn’t hunt down. Anderson’s presence was helpful in this endeavor, he had the local pull to support this sort of thing. He was, of course, also prepared for the inevitable blowback of liberal protestors on the campus - whether it was on climate or other political issues - but he was sure he could be marshalled safely into the venue of his rally.

Barry Anderson
31st March 2019
Missouri

Anderson had prepared a speech along the lines of free speech in college campuses. It was an issue he felt strongly about, and had a duty to speak out on after attacks on free speech by democratic politicans such as Representative John Atang, and even Senators such as Rebekah Sharansky had undermined it. This speech would be one of vigour, passion, and anger at those who stood against the US Constitution.

Anderson was applauded as he began his speech.

"Thank you, thank you.

"On December 15th, 1791, the United States ratified one of the most radical, great and important pieces of legislation in its history: the Bill of Rights. The bill that made the United States the most liberal and freest country on Earth, a position I still believe it holds today. It added ten amendments to our great constitution that made us truly free citizens.

"The First Amendment it introduced, and I quote, "Congress shall make no law [...] abridging the freedom of speech," made certain that you could put forward your viewpoints about whatever issue, freely debate it, and that Congress would have no authority to arrest you or jail you like an authoritarian junta for speaking your opinion!

"However, all that could change. May I introduce to you, Illinois Senator Rebekah Sharansky, who advocated for this age-old revolutionary, radical, democratic, Republican protection of our right to an opinion to be tore up into shreads and abolished because what we said 'offended' Washington beuracrats who believe that our opinions should not be spoken if they dislike them. My freinds, actions like that are the mark of a tyrannical dictatorship, that the so-called Democrats are introducing as we speak!

"Because this is not speculative, this has already started. If you are on a college campus and have an independent conservative mindset that goes against woke society's norms of acceptance of socialism, homosexuality, hermaphrodites, and ridiculous beliefs about 'straight white Male privilege', the establishment will have you hounded out, labelled a 'racist', and 'transphobe', and denied a right to speak and humiliated.

"This flies in the face of the values that govern America. We must stand up for freedom of speech in this country, and for the constitution and bill of rights the founding fathers fought and died for. And you must remember this: if we do not stand up for free speech now, we may lose it before we can.

"This is why we must stand behind soon to be President Prendergast. Democrats wish to destroy free speech on college campuses and they are now exporting their hatred of it outside of them, as Rebekah Sharansky has indicated. Prendergast will stand up for free speech, it is on his record. He will make sure that the bill of rights continues in its entirity, unamended. He is the chance we have to act. It is a now or never opportunity. So choose wisely.

Governor Chambers' wording was in very bad taste, and he has apologized for it. I think we would all be remiss to forget the frequent gaffes of our last Vice President. We forgave him at the time. Let's stay focused on the bread-and-butter issues that impact working Americans.

Did you just compare [not-Biden] to Chambers? All [not-Biden] did was have some unflattering angles, whilst Chambers outrright insulted a man's cancer. The real disgrace here, however, is you. You turned a Republican's political funeral march into an attack on the administration that I was part of. Shame on you, Senator.

Goldman Political Headquarters, Manhattan, New York City

Despite the fact she was born in Connecticut, Goldman had always internally favoured the Big Apple over the old estate, and often spent her nights in the Upper West Side penthouse her husband owned, and preferred the life of the city, even though she was in Connecticut regularly.

However, this was not why she was here. She was here to begin organising, to have her staff draw up designs for paraphernalia, such as bumper stickers, yard signs, posters and even clothing. It allowed the campaign to increase the number of funds whilst being able to look strong and consolidate their base.

Meanwhile, another thing that they were working on - using much of the funds from last month - was a mobile app to engage younger voters, to increase rally turnout and to help coordinate pro-Goldman events, in order to increase grassroots support, along with coordinating canvassing and pamphlets. They also began working on an official website by the name of GoldmanforPresident.com but kept it offline until the exploratory committee was announced. It was a campaign with a lot of energy, a lot of strength, and one that was ready to take the moderate lane by storm.

Fox News Interview, 1st of April

"Hello, Senator Goldman. Thank you for being with us."

"Hello to you too as well."

"Very well. Let's get started. There's one issue on everyone's mind right now, and it is this internal conflict within the Democrat Party. Tell me, Senator, do you think that Senators Westra and Murphy are traitors?"

"I do not-"

"You do not think that they are traitors or you don't rescind your previous statement?"

"I made no such statement-"

"So they are traitors?"

"They are not traitors, and I never said they-"

"So you rescind your statement?"

"I do not believe they are traitors. Plain and simple."

"Alright, then. Next question. Millions of Americans switched over from Baharia to Wolf in 2016. They, are, in large, white, working-class voters. What can you, an urban moderate from Connecticut, offer them?"

"I offer them a better economy. A better life."

"Hasn't Wolf already done this?"

"He simply inherited Baharia's economy. Wolf made people think it was all his, but it wasn't. It was down to the New Democrat Baharia administration, of which I was proudly part of."

"Aren't you, an urban upper-class liberal, disconnected from the concerns of the rural working class?"

"I am not. Any statement that I am is a sheer lie. Many of my policies, such as farming subsidies and rural development grants are good for farmers and for farming communities."

"Won't that cost money, money they have to eventually pay in taxes?"

"Not really. It all pays for-"

"So you're saying you can get money out of thin air?"

"Absolutely not. Increased productivity-"

"There is no magic money tree-"

"Let me finish. Increased productivity-"

"You can't just spawn money out of thin air. How will you pay for it?"

"Increased productivity will lead to an increase in-"

"So you're not raising taxes to make up for this extra spending? Won't you just throw this country into-"

"Let me finish." She said, firmly, asserting herself. "Increased productivity will increase GDP which will pay for itself in the form of extra tax revenues."

"So you are raising taxes?"

"Nope. As I have said, there will be no income tax rises under a Goldman Presidency."

"So money out of thin air?"

"It's called economic stimulus. It will pay for itself by increasing tax revenues."

"So you're justifying it with economic trickery?"

"Not with trickery. With principles. I stand for the dispossessed of this nation, those that the elite - led by faux-populists such as Wolf - have left behind. I stand for every man, woman and child in this nation who has been thrown to the dust by this administration-"

"Moving on..."

"Wolf offered you a better economy, yet where are your jobs? Where is the land of gold? Where are those streets lined with-"

"Speaking of bloated government programmes - what about the American Project? The most ambitious government spending programme since the New Deal. I know how you're going to fund it - with tax hikes, but what even is it?"

"I won't fund it with tax hikes?"

"How will you fund it?"

"At the end of the project, we will have created hundreds of thousands, maybe even millions of jobs, some temporary and some permanent-"

"Millions?"

"Yes, we could reach record lows of unemployment. All people have the right to work."

"So? That doesn't answer my question."

"All these extra jobs means more spending, more economic growth, allowing us to gain more money in taxes."

"Really? That's your solution to everything? It'll pay for itself?"

"The right keeps saying "oh, how much will it cost though?" like it's some sort of political checkmate, some sort of political ploy."

"Senator, it is very important to know how much things cost."

"I agree with that. But it seems that the main problem with economic conservatism is that it is borne of illiteracy. Neoliberalism crashed the housing market and destabilised the world. And yet people still believe in this voodoo pseudoeconomics. The more money you put into the economy, the more money you get out, even with the same tax rate. It's simple enough, isn't it?"

"Well, Senator, that's all that we have time for today."

"Thank you."

"Thank you, Senator Goldman, for being with us today."

Goldman really thinks that all of this money is going to appear out of thin air after throwing so much into another government program. These fairy tale economics will leave us in ruin. We cannot afford even four years of these socialist policies.

@SusanBMartinez

Oh wow someone running for President said something in poor taste how surprising. 5 minutes ago Prendergast wasn’t completely pro life and today everyone is endorsing him. Did we forget all the thing the current President said running for office? The things he didn’t apologize for? People calling on Chambers to drop out have either suddenly become the very snowflakes they attack on twitter or are faking outrage for political purposes. Move on the American people have real problems.

Jack Chambers
@Governor Chambers

I appreciate the criticism, I really do. It simply means America is meeting the goal of freedom of speech. Of course I insist, again, that my comments were in no way meant to be reflective of the president’s own condition and hope we can move forward and focus on real issues as Senator Westra said. If the people desire my resignation, they will get it, but I will not let my campaign be ran by the greedy hungry wolves who mess up one day and attack their rivals the next.

-Goldman believes we’re all traitors
-Prendergast believes in racial profiling

So I’m sorry I made an unintentional gaff, when these candidates have made INTENTIONAL statements of hatred toward entire races and political ideologies

Hi Carrie,

Just wondering if you free later today, I wanted to talk to you about your upcoming bill on the docket and the caucus chair election.

Ahe'hee,
Kathleen

FROM: [Representative Caroline Simone]
TO: [Representative Kathleen Nez]

Hi Kathleen,

I can always make time for you, do swing by whenever is convenient for you.

Yours,

Carrie.

Seeing as she had nothing scheduled in on her calendar for the day around 2 o'clock, around that time, she headed over to Carrie's office. Walking in, she asked the secretary, "Is Carrie in?"

The secretary looked up at Representative Nez with a smile. "Yes, Congresswoman Simone is in her office." Standing up, he went over to the door and knocked on it, went inside, spoke with Caroline for a moment before re-emerging, coming back out to invite Nez inside.

In the office, Carrie was busy folding the plastic lid back over a tupperware box containing what invariably looked like chicken salad, going to set it back on her desk. "Kathleen! Good to see you."
