It's classic politics: pump out ham fisted legislation with no real purpose to make it seem like you're doing something.

Man good thing those courageous cops stopped this mad mad, someone might have had an irritated eye! /s
Seriously this is the biggest joke of an arrest I've seen in a long while.

Then I guess it would be prudent to just gun them all down before it happens. And It's hard to find a good monkey with a gun.
Seems related.
An actual monkey cleaning a Glock…

A long clip? Is that like a ten foot paper clip?

I suppose the word they're looking for is "High-capacity" clip but they were just to stupid to know the correct term which really brings into the legitimacy of someones words on a subject they barely know about. It's like a stay at home mom trying to argue that climate change isn't real to a meteorologist.

That's an apt analogy.

It's odd that he doesn't know better. He was a combat veteran.

Navy officer, not that far of a stretch to say he never had any firearm training, but rather naval training.

Well good, while i get cops can sometimes get antsy around people with guns that's no excuse to wrongly accuse, arrest, or shoot someone who has a legal right to be carrying a gun.

In my experience it's been the 1st year shitheads that tend to go off half cocked, like judge dredd looking to make their big bust or something and end up looking like dipshit.
I have yet to hear a logical explanation from an officer, in how a holstered or slung firearm is a threat, and warrants harassing someone exercising their 2nd Amendment.

Well A holstered firearm can still be a threat, it doesn't take very long to aim and fire a gun from holster. That being said, you still don't just assume someone who has a gun and holster is gonna try and kill you especially as an officer.

Well TBF its natural training even in my job field for airport security assume everything is a threat until you figure its not. so that's how the police are trained assume the person is a threat until they are not a threat.

It is in the manner of how an officer comes across when inquiring. Most times it's with cussing and conflicting orders as if their mind cannot comprehend that someone is carrying and minding their own business.
Don't get me wrong, I have more positive experiences with law enforcement, it is however those few that goes off unwarranted that leaves a sour taste.

I absolutely love the gumball ammo dispensing idea. Isn't that a pic from a TX gun shop/range?
