All that whining and bitching about the impeachment being nothing but a political coup to undo Trump's election and now Joni Ernst castrates the GOP's excuse by announcing an intention to impeach Biden for telling Ukraine to ditch corrupt asshole Viktor Shokin. Which would be laughable enough without banking on the assumption that Biden is going to win in 2020.

You guys opened the door to impeachment like this. I'm a fan of this. It'll grind everything to halt and keep more of your bad ideas from being enacted :^)

Soooo? Trump is innocent and he did nothing wrong?
If Biden makes it, I hope they will try it. The demos will probably do the same things the trumpests did. My ears are already ringing at the thought of the resulting rage the trumpests will be screaming.....

So it was, wait for it, entirely a political stunt? Hmmm... Who'd have think it?

It wouldn't work because the accusation against Biden is is backed by actual evidence of an impeachable offence. It's all academic though, since the senate has already stated they'll be looking into Biden's actions after the trial is over, which means it's only a matter of time before they refer the issue to the DoJ

Is an offense impeachable if it committed before getting elected to a position?

So let me explain why Biden having done something corrupt is bullshit. It hinges on the notion that Biden pressured the Ukraine into firing Shokin, which they otherwise would not have done, to stop him from investigating Burisma. The problems with this:
1. Shokin was dragging his feet on the investigation of Burisma. Contrary to the story, he put it on the back burner and was not persuing advancing the investigation against Burisma. This lack of investigation was actually documented by correspondence with Shokin at the time. In fact, this lack of movement is what earned him Biden's ire. Biden actually tried to get the investigation moving on corruption in Burisma. Sounds bizarre, but it's not if you know how 99, percent of business people operate. It is better to attempt due diligence on such issues than to engage or even ignore them.
2. Shokin tried to resign prior to his removal. He actually tried to quit his damn job. He didn't want it anymore.
3. There were widespread public protests against Shokin in the Ukraine, because his corruption was so utterly blatant. Several of his deputies were caught up in suspected bribery cases. He refused to investigate oligarchs.
4. He was removed not by some singular individual in the Ukraine government, but by a 289-161 vote, in which multiple parties voted to remove him.
So in order for the "Biden tried to leverage aid to get Shokin fired", we are forced to believe that Biden:
1. Stirred public resentment against Shokin.
2. Somehow got Shokin not to investigate Burisma.
3. Try to get Shokin to investigate Burisma after you spent time convincing him not to investigate Burisma.
4. Convince Shokin to resign.
5. Convince multiple Blocs from disparate political parties in the Ukrainian parliament to remove him.
I mean... Come on. Seriously. This is ridiculous.

Can't impeach a guy not in office. It's threatening to actually do to Biden if he wins exactly what they kept bawling and whining was being done to Trump by the House Democrats. IMAX 3D projection at the technological finest.
