Delaney said in a statement that internal analyses showed his support wasn’t enough to meet the 15% viability threshold needed in Iowa caucus precincts, but it was strong enough to take away from other like-minded Democratic candidates.
So, his 1% would make a difference? Okay buddy, keep saying that...
Anyway, about fucking time he dropped out.

There's still a couple of days until Iowa, a couple more might drop out beforehand to endorse another candidate, others will stick it out until after the primary so they get mentioned on the news before dropping out.
James Carville must've lost his mind, he's gallivanting around New Hampshire, spreading the gospel that Michael Bennet is the best candidate and most likely to win. It's madness.

That would be absolutely amazing and should that happen you can bet republicans would immediately move to end the jungle primary system for special elections and runoffs for general elections
Fun fact: the jungle primary and runoffs are a relic of Jim Crow. It was designed to prevent Republicans from winning elections.

The jungle primary can't be a terrible idea; California adopted it relatively recently. Maybe the state systems differ.

Yes but in Georgia it’s a relic of Jim Crow. Jungle primaries are dumb because it risks one party being shut out a statewide office or district if the vote is split enough. In happened in 2018 for senate In California

I remember. A childish part of me is pleased there was no Republican on the ballot, but I admit it's not the best democratically.

Sure I have. And I don't get to participate because I'm not a member of the right clubs.
To elaborate, what I mean is that some California Republicans got the chance to experience what I experience every election: No one remotely resembling your values on the ballot. Not even someone they liked that had no chance. Only, from their perspective, bad and worse. To be fair, I do live in New Mexico, where I'm proud to say we had eight presidential candidates on our ballot in 2016. But then down-ballot, it was the same old R vs D over and over. Bad vs Worse. What a thrill to get a say in that choice.

So join a political party or if you don’t like whose running then run yourself

I agree that having a larger field is good for the party, and that's why it bothered me when Sanders acted like he was offended to have so many people on stage. Like, hello? Earth to Bernie? That's democracy.
I watched that same debate, and I didn't see anything to make me think Sanders was offended that there were so many people on the debate stage. Where are you coming off with this nonsense?

Would you ever consider joining the GOP? No, because there are too many fundamental differences between you and them. I feel that way about both parties. I don't think I should be punished for not forcing my political views to fit neatly into one of two boxes.
And don't even get me started on this "run yourself" shit again. I have no funding. I have no desire to be a politician, and they'd deny me ballot access anyway since I still refuse to contort myself into becoming a Republican or a Democrat.

Go run for local office then. To say everyone sucks is such a cop out

Elections are stressful, and generally those who don't have any past political experience or otherwise name recognition have a low chance of winning. You don't just run for political office. That's not how it works.

How does anyone get elected then? Everyone starts from somewhere
