Character Description
Name: TARE-903-05
Species: Gnosara
Gender: N/A
Age: Approx. >1,243,000
Appearance:Standing at 6’, around the height of an average Sahroni, the TARE series are of a humanoid design with several anachronistic features. Lacking a distinct face, the series instead has a flat mask protecting the integral optical components, while a larger helmet allows for the housing of a sensor array. The mask itself includes heavy cording which resembles early respirator units, though these instead house cabling for connections towards the sensor array and optics. For the most part, non conductive fabrics cover the outside of the unit as a protection against certain forms of electrical weaponry as well as to adhere to some Sahroni cultural normalities, as at the period of TARE’s construction the practices of making such figures seem more organic was common. This includes cloaks, a robe, as well as thick gloves which house pressure and energy sensors. Underneath this arrangement is a heavy, armored chassis housing various components, among them a cold fission reactor. A heavy, gray backpack is worn on the back which includes such things as a gravitational array, shielding array, and heatsinks for that equipment as well as the power coupling for the disruption carbine TARE wields. Due to model construction, a constant ticking can be heard.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Skills:Personal Combat
Weaknesses:As a 903 Series, TARE is exceptionally capable of engagement with his disruption carbine up to maximum range, engagement with close quarters weaponry, and hand-to-hand combat, though for obvious reasons the latter are preferred. An exceptional reaction time due to the utilization of a neural system of information relay is coupled with optical, thermal, gravitational, and motion-based sensors to create a lethal marksman.
Programming Corruption
Due to a remarkable age and lack of repair or maintenance, TARE’s systems have become understandably degraded. This comes in the form of, at times, vocal stuttering in the modulator, the prefacing of any sentence with a word indicative of the sort of statement being made such as it being a query, statement, or fact, as well as intermittent failure in control targeting.
A Metal ManDue to his construction, TARE is susceptible to most modern EMP weaponry as it is able to brute-force through the non conductive clothing. In addition to this, due to programming quirks TARE is incapable of most abstract forms of thought with such terms of speech as metaphor going over his head. This is not crippling, but does hamper social conversation if TARE was ever incentivized to do such a thing. He’s also not interested in social conversation.

1 Count Resisting ArrestQuiet, observatory, and lacking the capacity for such a thing as fear or frantic emotion, TARE lacks the vast array of social and emotional graces and keeps such a fact hidden under a sheer lack of conversation. Designed to be a bodyguard he is inherently protective of others designated as a controller while lacking any trace of mercy for those who threaten the controller or TARE himself. Analytical, he takes preference to the cold, hard facts of combat to the nebulous ideals of diplomacy or conversation and can be considered brutal in the application of force against those who might be a threat. However, TARE is more than capable of allowing that controller to attempt diplomacy, though would grudgingly remind that same controller of precisely how certain combat would be.
Backstory:Developed far in advance to the Sahroni’s war of survival, the 903 Series of Artificial Intelligences were created as a cadre of bodyguard units for the upper class of that species. While warfare was largely halted as a result of the Sahroni being a united species, conflicts such as simple murder, mugging, and potential civil war was not an unknown possibility and as such had to be guarded against. As the upper class, these individuals ensured they were guarded by the finest of technologies, from personal shielding arrays to distortion carbines, all powered by a miniaturized Cold Fusion Plant. Known universally as simply ‘TARE’, this specific unit would be purchased by one Kor'O Ksi'm'yen Jila'len, a Sahroni of some repute as one intensely interested in exploration. The reasons for such interest were part mercantile, part curiosity, and part political; the creation of a political entity outside of usual Sahroni borders, lead by Kor’O Jila'len, would be a massive boon to their reputation and powerbase.
As a result of this, after being owned for thirteen years by that individual, TARE would be one of the many within the cadre of the Kor'O upon their personal cruiser, the Opportunity’s Ark. They departed space and, in the first voyage, that cruiser would be completely destroyed by a heavy raiding party of unidentified ships. As the ship was completely lost, venting atmosphere killing most occupants, the ruined hulk of the vessel fell into the gravity well of a nearby planetoid. Those survivors, including Kor’O Jila'len, retreated to the safe room and activated the TARE units aboard as foreign boarding parties penetrated the vessel’s outer hull and began to perform a purging action against the Sahroni alive and isolated. Directed to eliminate the boarders, TARE units performed and finished that action in eleven standard minutes. This effort would be for naught however as the raiders opened fire on the hulk, defense systems proving to be slow in overcoming the enemy shields. A hull breach would occur in the safe room and immediate emergency protocols were undertaken. Only three of the survivors consciousnesses would be saved by TARE units, one of these being the Kor’O by TARE-903-05. The raiders, soon thereafter, would be driven off and with the vessel’s communications array destroyed in the fight the units entered into a state of power-saving mode, awaiting a rescue that never came.
In 2026, an unknown vessel identifying themselves as the Kiellar Command boarded the Opportunity’s Ark and, as before, anti-boarding efforts were undertaken. The three surviving TARE units engaged the enemy with disruption weaponry, overcoming smaller parties before the nearby cruiser, coupled to the hulk with a flexible umbilical, began to provide supporting fire and additional reinforcements. The other two TARE units destroyed by heavy kill-teams, 05 counter-boarded the cruiser, depressurizing an unoccupied aft recreation deck in the process before taking control of a nearby terminal. Discerning the location of the Armory on the vessel, as well as the location of the Bridge, the TARE unit began to make all haste to the first location. En route, however, he was disabled by specialist fireteams and has since then been aboard the Defiance in a depowered state.
