This is not just about race, Jews are an easily identifiable different group than the majority, so they get to get oppressed as well, Muslims also in the United States. The main thing is easily identifiable difference-- maybe it is the clothes, maybe it is the funny eating habits, maybe it is the odd way of doing things. This can also apply to the disabled, the blind, the handicapped, etc. People seem to have a thing for going after people who are different. Creating a popular identity is a certain way to get oppressed. People look for new and creative ways to oppress people.

Like, if "Asian" refers to "everyone from the continent of Asia", you're lumping Arabs with Chinese with Indians with Indonesians, which I'm sure we can agree are pretty distinct groups. Why one would lump these groups together is beyond me.

And if "white" refers to "everyone from Europe/of European descent", what about darker-skinned Europeans who look more like Arabs and the like than Swedes? And how much European descent do you need?

You gotta establish a cut off between "acceptable level" and "no not acceptable." your average Arab in the Levant is about 12% black African in heritage and among people in the Arabian peninsula such as the yemenites, it can peak at 35 or 40%. It hovers between 16 and 24% for Egyptians

Is it that high? I know it is high in Yemen up to about 20% but it shouldn’t be above 1% in Turkey and Syria.

They're an olive complexion (well some chechens are and some look like russians). Same for Arabs and Balkan Muslims (and Balkan people in general but the Muslim part tilts the scale of whiteness against them) and hispanic people. Your definition of brown isn't the same as mine. In your country I would be considered a white man, and in southeast Asia I would be known as a farang (Malay for white people). But in america im brown. In your country a Korean and filipino are two different things, but over here everyone would just call you both asians
