Well, don't Catholics interpret Song of Songs as a symbolic portrayal of the relationship between G-d and the Church? I think people are beautiful but I'm not certain we ourselves are quite on that level from a Christian perspective. Then again, I'd probably disagree to some extent because muh Jewish existentialism.

Oh, I'm not sure about its symbology but I do believe it's a very sweet biblical passage in the context of marriage. When it comes to the beauty of people, the sight of beauty is certainly a blessing from God. Personally, I thank God for it. :)

I'm vaguely familiar with Aquinas' Aristotleanism and his proofs, but I unfortunately don't know too much about him.

I'm not certain that's a conventional reading. But, yes, it does have some very pretty passages and imagery. The Zohar does as well but I suppose that's one of our books, not one of y'all's or a shared one.

I always strive to see beauty when and where I can - in all things rightly ordered and even in the disorderly yearning for G-d.

Here to school us on Aquinas? If so, my ears are open, theologians are not my specialty.

Well, my interest in Aquinas isn't so much his proofs for God but moreso what he has to say on the appropriate form of polity or body politic. What's certain from St. Aquinas' thought is that the main priority of duty of a ruler is to safeguard justice.

That was always what interested me the most about his work, about what the role of Christianity in how it affects governance. I've always written off proofs for God's existence, as proof of God would defeat the purpose of faith. If God were a fact, then there would be no need for either love or nor faith to obey him. Blessed are those who saw and believed, blessed even are more are those who heard and believed.

I've always been more of an Augustine of Hippo fan over Aquinas myself.

St. Louis Federal Reserve wrote:The college income premium—the extra income earned by a family headed by a college
graduate over an otherwise similar family without a bachelor’s degree—remains positive but has
declined for recent graduates. The college wealth premium (extra wealth) has declined more noticeably
among all cohorts born after 1940. Among non-Hispanic white family heads born in the 1980s, the
college wealth premium is at a historic low; among all other races and ethnicities, it is statistically
indistinguishable from zero. Using variables available for the first time in the 2016 Survey of Consumer
Finances, we find that controlling for the education of one’s parents reduces our estimates of college
and postgraduate income and wealth premiums by 8 to 18 percent. Controlling also for measures of a
respondent’s financial acumen—which may be partly innate—, our estimates of the value added by
college and a postgraduate degree fall by 30 to 60 percent. Taken together, our results suggest that
college and post-graduate education may be failing some recent graduates as a financial investment. We
explore a variety of explanations and conclude that falling college wealth premiums may be due to the
luck of when you were born, financial liberalization and the rising cost of higher education.

Who knew the college push would be fucking worthless? GG no re my liberal friends. You conned us all into a giant debt machine with no real value. Enjoy the hell you made :^)
