The party was pretty much in open revolt against some of his more egregiously authoritarian ideas and he was forced to walk them back. The court packing scheme was a big one, Congress tore it to pieces and even though FDR did manage to bully SCOTUS into siding with him that was still a notable defeat.

Don't forget United States v. Nixon. I don't think they will overturn them though they may limit them, which, in that case, won't make Trump happy either. When we get reports on how the oral arguments go, we'll have an idea then. Until then, we can only speculate. I'll reserve some confidences for these issues. However, DACA is likely going to be ruled unconstitutional (not related but I figure I mention it).

It's not okay. I specifically called Trump a bully for attacking Greta in that way. And that's just the latest in a long line of such remarks and behaviors. If you want to engage teenage activists (or any activists really), it looks a lot better to respectfully engage their arguments that to insult and belittle them. Melania tends to go quiet when her husband does things like this and I agree that it's hypocritical, but, given his temperament and vulnerability, I get why she does it. It's sometimes hard to call out disagreeable family members and continue having a loving relationship at the same time. The principled thing would be to call him out or to take him aside and tell him that bullying a child, even if she's an activist, isn't cool. But she has to look out for her family life and child too.
