After a long hiatus from the international, as decided by the Juven Football Association in order to reorganise its structure and rearrange its talent, the Campionato di Juvencus has officially returned, however, at a big cost, since the Campionato has implemented a new rule in regards to transfers which is that no foreign talent should enter the league, unless it comes from the nations of Al Qurija or Oscioru. This is to ensure that the league stays pure and that players will be able to grow in their own country, without the need to go abroad to grow because of the common feeling of being held back. However, transfers of talent from Juven sides to other sides abroad is perfectly acceptable and even promoted in some cases, since a large number of talent has gathered up in the league and indeed, not everyone can shine on their home state.

This season provided to be quite exciting in regards to the chase for the 2nd place, since the top spot was secured from eventual champions, AC Pomena from really early on. (With the help of an explosive attacking trio in Patxi Etxeberria, Paulo Castelli and new addition Georges Bandini, AC Pomena managed to score 108 goals!) In particular, underdog AC Picilia was battling it out till the end of the season with veteran side S.S.C Tipoli which saw the first of the two emerge in 2nd place. FC Tiscan seemed sluggish the entire season, as their abysmal defence let 121 goals past their net and with financial issues arising after the firing of 3 different managers, the club is in a very difficult spot at this very moment.

TimLig Season 2 Preview

With the preseason out of the way and the domestic and foreign transfer windows closed, we can now take a clear look at the expectations for each team going into this seasons TimLig. The Superleague is expected to be slightly more competitive than last season, with Hisar facing several strong challenges to retaining their title. Though the league is still finding its feet and the quality of play will still be lacking, if still entertaining for fans. The previous seasons popularity amongst the population has led to several regional governorates to request funding for sporting infrastructure for football and beyond. Whether those requests are met, will depend on the leagues viability after this season. Another one full of heaving crowds in small stadiums, with entertaining play and the regional governors may well get their wish.

The domestic transfer window, restricted as it is by the rules regarding spending, have mostly involved the exchange of rights to players contracts from the youth prospects who declared themselves eligible for the professional leagues. While Amateur League and Vizier Cup finalists Tutunspor look to have been plundered, they have gained access to players from more populous and well developed regions of the country than their own. Meaning despite losing 4 of their 11 starting players, they managed to gain a Workers League quality striker in Murat Keskin and 3 youth prospects including one from Demir which will inevitably provide them with a short term as well as long term boost to their team. The reluctance of teams to trade players and instead offer contract rights may well lead to a rule change next season. With very little in the way of player freedom possibly making the country less appealing to foreign talent (though the rules around contracts do not apply to them).

As teams in the Superleague (and TimLig generally) do not run their own youth sides and the ability to sign youth players is restricted by the region a club is based in, clubs have had to employ very careful and detailed strategies in replenishing their sides with younger players. Some clubs have managed to obtain the rights to players from other more developed regions. The biggest benefactors of this system, in terms of a player obtained by exchanging for rights, have been Kilicspor who have obtained Timurdogan Ozbey from Demir Gencler who is by far the best young player of this class of players transitioning to the professional leagues, he will almost immediately be on the radar of the national team. Newly promoted Ilac Fabrika Takimi have also found themselves a gem of a player in the form of Tugay Coskun a capable striker from Emirdag Gencler who shined at youth level enough that he will immediately be placed in the starting XI. Bakir FK also found a left back who is already on the radar of the national team in the form of Devrim Sen of Uryan Gencler. Tanrispor obtained an excellent right midfielder in Alp Osman who will hopefully be able to lead them to survival having moved from Goynuk Gencler. Almat had a rather poor youth selection, however Mustafa Aydinlar shows a lot of promise and could develop into a national team contributor in a couple of years. The team with by far the best youth class is Tashkentspor who have obtained 3 probable starters from 3 selections. Oz Kizilkaya is a native of Tashkent and will bring considerable passion to the team, while Altan Seyfi and Izzet Timur make their way over from Guclu Akademisi and Altin Akademisi respectively hopefully demonstrating the quality of the nation's specialised football academies. Uryanspor managed to obtain a youngster who will rotate well in the centre of defence, Berker Balkan a resident of the city who came through their regional youth team will certainly have a close eye kept on him. Meanwhile the prize of the whole youth class in the form of international goalkeeper Iskender Nur fell into the laps of Demirspor who will be looking for him to eventually replace his international teammate Hasan Kocaeli between the sticks.

The rules limiting foreign players as well as the fiscally conservative attitude of many clubs has meant that despite them having certain guarantees of support should the worst happen financially, clubs were reluctant to spend big or massively bend their wage structures, again, despite total freedom to do so for foreign players. Uryanspor shored up an already stout defence with Nepharan Hywel Wodework replacing the departing Ozbek Sarikaya who will ply his trade of Bassabook Old Boys in Zwangzug and they added a raw, but promising winger in the form of the Super League's first female player Susanne Mpenza for 480 thousand Demir, who is expected to add a nice outlet in attack for Uryanspor. Elektriklestirmespor brought in Hinodejin university prospect Masaki Onishi, who will be starting immediately replacing Tekin Yavuz in Elektriklestime's potent attacking third, many eyes will be on him to see if he can make his mark in this league. Brenecian midfielder Marian Ironside will be looked to bring some toughness to a Manat midfield that at times looked incredibly soft, arriving for a very reasonably 400 thousand Demir. Demirspor lost star striker Vatan Ercetin for a very handsome fee of 5.2 million Demir to Jinja City in Banija, which the club will be looking to invest wisely, holding onto it for the time being. Demirspor did try to address their defensive issues with the free transfer acquisition of Ixion Stamatellis who will slot in at left back for The Iron-men. Hisar brought in some depth in the centre of defence in the form of Hinodejin trained astronaut (yes really) Eichi Fujiwara who will provide quality depth for the champions. Meanwhile, some attention has been brought upon the youth players in the Development League, with two players being acquired by Taeshani sides for 1.6 million Demir each. 25% of the money will be directly invested into the sides, while the remaining 75% will be distributed evenly between all of the non academy sides in the development league, leading to a handsome investment of around 70,000 Demir per side.

With these changes, many expect a far more competitive season at the top with the increase in quality coming from international experience and an injection of foreign talent. The teams that will be participating in the Superleague this season are analysed in turn, in order of expected finish this season (players who contribute to the foreign player limit are shown in italics):

Analysis: Last season's fourth place side are now slight favourites to win it all this time around, they managed to improve their much vaunted defence with 18 year old future star Berker Balkan and Nepharim free agent Hywel Wodework, meaning that with the capable Murat Yigithan in goal most teams will struggle to find much in the way of attacking opportunities against this side. That doesn't mean that Baskurt Cetinkaya has not sought out offensive options, with the acquisition of Susanne Mpenza, the league has its first female player and its first foreign player purchased for a transfer fee, a gamble when club's finances are kept a close eye on by the Football Federation. Mpenza may appear raw, but her physical abilities are expected to give her an edge against a lot of sides and provide her with enough opportunities that she should gain vital experience to improve her final product. Youngster Demir Kaynarca will be given opportunities in relief of Kurboga Akyol, with many suggesting that despite his rawness and lack of football intelligence at times that experience may allow the youngster to flourish. This is a vastly improved team and are deservedly considered the favourites meaning the trophy may be moving out of the capital this year.

Hisar FK

Analysis: The inaugural champions of the Superleague come into this year slightly outmatched by a very ascendant Uryanspor who are expected to make a considerable leap forward this season thanks to some very astute acquisitions from abroad and prudent youth selections. That doesn't mean however, that Hisar have not improved their team during the break either, with Sahin Gul being salvaged from relegated Demir Buyukkentspor being brought in this is a side that was aware of its strength with a comfortable title winning season last time around, this time they will face a much tougher time as they will encounter the aforementioned well constructed team of Uryanspor, a Manat side eager to right the perceived wrong of last season and a Demirspor side that will want to show that its offensive philosophy can both lead to a title and be sustainable without arguably the best player this country has produced thus far. While they are only slightly edged out by the favourites, all eyes will be on them to see if they can not only be the inaugural champions, but the first team to retain their title.

Analysis: A slightly disappointing third place finish left some wondering if Marat Yuseinov would be given another chance with this team, he is and he's made two major moves. The first is to join in the raiding of surprise Vizier's Cup finalists Tutunspor and obtain tough midfielder Aycan Kubat, who will be paired with a more experienced, but equally tough midfielder in the form of Brenecian Marian Ironside who the Demir based side obtained for 0.48 Million Demir from Falkner United. They are the side considered to have the best chance to win the league outside of the two favourites, a lot will depend on how they perform against both Hisar and Uryanspor, with both expected to concede very few goals this season and having objectively better squads at their disposal than Manat. A lot of focus will be on Ismail Burhan with the departure of his rival for top goalscorer last season from city rivals Demirspor he will be expected to take home the title this time, though this is the team was expected to win it all last time so expectations don't seem to be met here.

Demirspor

Analysis: Last season's runners up are still considered among the top sides in the league and have a very legitimate chance of making a serious title run this season, the made a prudent free transfer in the form of Ixion Stametellis who will shore up the left side of defence and will have a few more years left in him than Cemalettin Kuyumcu. Many will be keeping a close eye on Hasan Kocaeli in light of Iskender Nur's presence on the bench, a few too many mistakes and the manager may well be obliged to put the young goalkeeper in for his mentor (which played a factor in the decision to come to the club on Iskender's part). While they're predicted to come fourth, the sheer explosive firepower that Yusuf Umut's system is able to pull from his players is astounding and gives them a chance of beating any other team in the league on their day. However, the loss of Vatan Ercetin, last season's top goalscorer will inevitably hurt the team's goalscoring as he is virtually irreplaceable as an asset on the pitch.

Analysis: Last year's Vizier's Cup winners come into this season expecting to consolidate their fifth place finish in the league last season, that's not to say that this team has not been making additions it has in fact made two rather notable ones. The first is poaching Eldemir Reza from their vanquished cup final foes Tutunspor who will immediately slot into a starting role in the centre of midfield. The other is young Hinodejin right winger Masaki Onishi from Nashihana University who was not on anyone's radar at all, but was apparently a priority free agent for Yahsiboga Levni leaving many to wonder if there's something he knows that others don't. Regardless this is largely the same team as last season and is expected to put up an outsider's fight for fourth place with the gap between them and Demirspor proving to be rather substantial in the grand scheme of things. Ertan Renda will once again be critical to any success this team has alongside Caner Ulas at the other end. They are not seriously considered to be title challengers, though with a string of strong results at the right time they may find themselves closer to that than many would expect.

Analysis: The last team in this list that is considered to have any legitimate shot at a title run, it would require some good fortune and a strong opening run, but this is a team that has certainly improved, even if in all likelihood it will only manifest itself in the form of an improvement of one spot in the league table. The young players that have been brought in have shown that they are immediate starting XI material and have been projected to be in it from the beginning. Servet Ayturk made his move from relegated Yumruk ID and will provide a long term replacement for Kemal Sabuktiginoglu. Caner Turan will once again be the most talented player on this team and will be expected to be the conduit for the teams offensive output either by creating chances or scoring himself. Youngster Altan Seyfi comes into the starting XI immediately and is expected to gel well with his new partner in the centre of midfield Oz Kizilkaya, the two youngsters adaptation to the Super League will likely determine much about this coming season.

Analysis: The weakest Super League team from the capital of Demir. Almat did not have a good season last time around coming in a miserable 6th place. The club is in no man's land within the Super League, lacking the quality to make a sustained and serious challenge for the title or international competitions, but far too strong to be considered a part of the relegation battle. If they are going to have a better than expected season, goalkeeper Ferdi Kurtoglu, defender Eyup Mustafa and the captain, defensive midfielder Oztekin Timur will need to find a way to provide a strong base to the team's spine so that they can make the most of the few chances that are created under Okay's system. They will be desperate to avoid a slow start, as despite the significant talent gap between them and the likely relegation candidates, if things begin to spiral it can be hard, or even impossible to come out of the spiral.

Analysis: The inaugural Workers League champions look to be the side with the strongest chance of remaining in the Super League of the teams who are considered serious candidates for relegation. The team at times looked better than a lot of the Super League sides last season and so should fit in well with the league in terms of the quality of play. The acquisition of Erberk Aldemir showed that Selim Tansu was going to pivot away from the often forceful attacking play he encouraged last season, the former Tutunspor man looking set to be the holding midfielder in a much more defensive set up. For the promoted side, the ability of their 18 year old striker Emir Aga to adapt to the Super League will determine much of how their season will progress as well as right midfielder Alp Osman's ability to provide the service the young striker will need to make an impact. Captain Hidayet Koca will be looked to, to lead the defence and provide critical leadership that a newly promoted side will need. Regardless this is a side that is good enough to earn a mid table finish and look likely to be the "best of the rest" in the Super League.

Analysis: A team that was in no serious danger of being relegated last season, finishing eight points clear of Demir Buyukkentspor who were condemned to that fate. This is a side that has had to sprint to stay still, with the acquisition of Tutunspor man Bayram Tansu the team is hoping to improve upon its dismal 14 goals in 22 matches last season, whether he can make the step up and prove to be a better option than Necati Agaoglu will determine whether they find themselves falling into the relegation mire. Devrim Sen will be put straight into the starting line up and will be expected to fortify the team's defence and provide adequate support to the attackers. Meanwhile captain Erdi Turkyilmaz will be critical to the team's chances of remaining clear of the relegation zone once again. This side are considered to be at legitimate risk of relegation, but given the quality throughout the side and the team's experience in surviving in the league will likely see them through with Ornek Okur being trusted by both management and the players.

Analysis: Promoted by virtue of goal difference, the team of former pharmaceutical workers are well and truly in the relegation fight, of the three most likely candidates for the drop, they are considered the strongest, especially since they obtained an exceptional prospect in the form of Tugay Coskun who will be partnered with the 38 year old Tufan Kizilirmak. Sinan Pamuk's ability to distribute the ball in the midfield will have a large bearing on how well this team does, if he struggles alongside his inexperienced partner this team could well find themselves in serious trouble very quickly. Young keeper Koray Ecevit will have to learn fast between the sticks as he makes the leap directly to Superleague starting goalkeeper. Dr Tanju Zengin will have his work cut out for him as the other teams expected to be in the relegation battle have been there before and will not meekly accept the fate expected of them.

Analysis: The loss of Alpay Osmanoglu to Demirspor will undoubtedly leave this side a bit weaker at the back than they'd prefer, but the use of their Demir Youth Player rights to obtain the excellent Timurdogan Ozbey they may have found the player who will give them enough firepower to survive. That will be the aim of the game yet again for the side that masterminded the great escape last season, though this time they are firmly expected to occupy one of the two relegation spots when all is said and done, unless manager Ildemir Akkoz conjures up yet another unlikely series of performances to save the club from their seemingly inevitable fate. International Yildiray Sabuktiginoglu will need to elevate the defence around him as well as perform excellently at an individual level for this side to have any real chance of survival, while goalkeeper Sahin Ozgultekin will really need to be on his toes and at his best to make sure this side that had a goal difference of -20 last season, don't repeat that.

Analysis: In the unenviable position of being expected to be at the bottom of the table and widely expected to be relegated, this is a side that performed admirably last season, but simply did not improve enough in the off season to stand any serious chance of being expected to survive. None of their youth acquisitions could reasonably be expected to start this season, raw and untested, the best among them Engin Samdereli could develop with good coaching into a more than serviceable player if given the time. The side will be relying on a rapidly aging Necemettin Umut for goals alongside their key man up front Metcan Gunaydin. Emre Kahveci will need to be at his absolute best as a box-to-box midfielder and captain of this side that feels doomed to its fate. Erol Demiroren will determine much about how secure this side is defensively, if he falters over the season, this could be a very painful year of The Chameleons.

The long anticipated opener of the Super League season offered little in the way of shocks, with early season favourites Uryanspor beating out relegation favourites Urukspor 1-0. Kilicspor did provide something of an upset, with a surprising 1-1 draw thanks to a goal by young hot prospect Timurdogan Ozbey in the 87th minute. Manat ran out 2-0 winners over newly promoted IFT with a brace for Ismail Burhan. Young striker Kartal Unal grabbed an excellent hat trick in Demirspor's convincing 3-0 victory over Bakir FK. Elektriklestirme demonstrated their superiority over Tanrispor with a debut goal for Hinodejin winger Masaki Onishi, the first foreign player to score in the Super League. Almat got an impressive opening day victory on their trip to Tashkent with Caner Turan's 71st minute goal proving to be nothing more than a consolation for the home side.

The second matchday brought a much more evenly matched set of affairs, as Uryanspor once again built off their solid defensive foundation and grabbed another 1-0 victory. IFT and Urukspor played out a bore draw, as did Bakir and Hisar during their showdown in Uryan. Newly promoted Tanrispor bounced back from their heavy defeat at the hands of Elektriklestirmespor, with a shock 2-1 victory over title contenders Manat via 18 year old Emir Aga's brace. Demirspor found a way past a stout Almat defence in a Demir derby, edging out as 1-0 winners. Lastly, Elektriklestirmespor grabbed their second win from two with a solid 2-1 victory over Tashkentspor with Recep Koyuncu scoring the winner.

Uryanspor continued their perfect start, with yet another 1-0 victory thanks to Susanne Mpenza's solitary goal, her first of the season after terrorising the IFT defence when she had the chance. Kilicspor and Bakir FK both gained an earned share of the point, with newcomer Bayram Tansu getting his first goal of the season. Urukspor and Tanrispor had an incredibly even 0-0 draw with both sides neutralising the others offensive efforts. Hisar won one of the Demir derbies with an effortless 2-0 victory over Almat who offered very little offensive impetus in the match. Manat failed to recover from their defeat with a victor, instead barely snatching a share of the points via a late Ismail Burhan goal. Demirspor and Elektriklestirmespor battled to a fair 2-2 draw with Kartal Unal securing a share of the points for Demirspor with his fourth goal.

Uryanspor remained perfect with their fourth 1-0 win in a row, this time over city rivals Bakir FK. Emir Aga secured a win for Tanrispor against their fellow promoted team IFT. Kilicspor found a way past a stout Almat defence with Timurdogan Ozbey scoring an excellent 15th minute goal for the win. Tashkentspor delivered a severe defeat to Urukspor who conceded 3 very poor goals with Mehmet Karaman and Caner Turan reaping the benefits. Hisar held Elektriklestirmespor to a draw as Ertan Renda added to his tally for the season. In a Demir derby of two very attacking sides, goals were not abundant, but Manat ran out unexpected winners with an Ismail Burhan brace delivering victory to them.

Uryanspor's perfect run was ended by a determined Tanrispor team who came to Uryan and shut them down and even managed to give them some trouble when they were on the offensive, though that ultimately led to no goals. Almat's visit to Uryan was even more successful with the Demir side running out 2-0 winners over Bakir FK. Tashkentspor enjoyed their superiority over Urukspor running out 4-1 winners away from home, with young midfielder Altan Seyfi opening his account for the club with a stunning long range effort. Elektriklestirmespor grabbed a last gasp winner to steal the three points from Kilicspor. Demirspor's offence really showed why they were so feared last season and don't seem to be missing Vatan Ercetin with Kartal Unal grabbing a brace in this match. Manat won the Class War Derby as it is known between the respective schools, with Manat running out 3-0 winners as they dominated their city rivals.

Uryanspor returned to winning ways with their sixth consecutive clean sheet and their fifth 1-0 victory of the campaign. Tashkentspor had to share the points as young striker Emir Aga scored a late equaliser to deny Caner Turan's side. Elektriklestirmespor scraped a 1-0 victory thanks to Hinodejin winger Masaki Onishi's long range effort. Demirspor saw off a brave IFT side thanks to another Kartal Unal goal, his fifth of the season. Manat comfortably dispatched Kilicspor, with Marian Ironside's awkwardly struck effort sneaking just past the keeper's hand as she scored her first goal for the club. Hisar and Urukspor played out a bore draw in Demir.

The three winless sides, unsurprisingly make up the bottom three with Bakir FK, IFT and Urukspor all looking likely to be embroiled in the relegation mire this season with a mere 6 points between them. Hisar have had a disappointing start to the season, currently occupying seventh place behind Tashkentspor. Meanwhile, Tanrispor have overperformed, the newly promoted side were expected to have a fairly strong season relative to their likely compatriots in the bottom half, but they find themselves in fifth place.

Season 27 preview: Alphabetical fun, chronological disappointment

The slowly-diversifying 1./ welcomes foreign transfers Ozbek Sarikaya from Uryanspor in Timuria, and Eyob Zonde from Damogran FC in the Squornshelan Remnant States. Pressed for comment, the Bassabook Old Boys board said something about "well we're bidding for the BoF with them so it's a nice show of solidarity, innit." Trink, meanwhile, parted ways with Kurt Uehara, who will ply his proverbial trade in Schottia. Why even do we call it plying a trade? It doesn't have anything to do with [That's enough of that. -ed]

In collegiate news, the AIU Sparks grabbed young midfielder Gracie Melrose, and Valentin Coletto joined the Mursbayley Doves. The Neume Songbirds were lucky to find the obscure Nepharan Chris Avramidis; he probably won't be earning enough there to collect guitars, but they have a good music program so maybe he can pick up some tips about what to look for. These teams and the other usual suspects will compete in the upcoming *squints at calendar* November Nonsense?

Yeah, so...this "upcoming" domestic season. Is kind of already well in the past for us because we used it to inform the World Cup 83 roster. But I'm already on shaky ground with my editor so I'm not supposed to get into the timeline stuff much further. Suffice it to say, there may be more seasons coming in quick succession after this one, and we'll deal with the international world if and when it becomes an issue. (Or maybe we'll slow down, I don't actually know who won this "contemporaneous" Cereal Cup or university thing because...you know.)

Anyway, in managerial news, Kate DiMarini will take over a Trebuchet Cham side who will have fallen kind of like a projectile thing. League officials praised her experience with mixed-gender sides and expressed hope that she could bring an actual realistic formation to Cham, although who knows with those guys. Kirk McDonagh will step into an Ephesian side eager to hear his confusing resistance metaphors, and less eager to dial their attack back to something reasonable. Claude Pare-Achel, after bearing the brunt of ridicule for applying to the Marauders position (what? was he thinking?) will probably be better-suited for Chromatik City College University. This name has impressed many fans back here who aren't used to calling something both a college and a university.

Also, Franziska Schnee-Krull and Ramona Ambaile-Hund have returned from the fraught league of Qusmo. Ambaile-Hund is expected to go into coaching at the university level, while Schnee-Krull is expected to struggle keeping her big stupid mouth shut.

Tanrispor upset Demirspor on their visit, with a goal from Emir Aga sealing the victory rendering Kartal Unal's goal a mere consolation. Bakir FK held Manat to a 1-1 draw forcing Omer Tameroglu to score a late equaliser in order for them to earn a share of the points. IFT lost out to champions Hisar, Yusuf Akman's late brace preventing what would have been a stunning upset. Finally Kilicspor secured a comfortable victory over Urukspor with a rare goal from Yildiray Sabuktiginoglu securing victory.

Uryanspor failed to return to winning ways in a 2-2 draw, with Ertan Renda scoring an excellent long range effort. Demirspor recovered from their shock defeat to Tanrispor with a narrow 1-0 victory over Tashkentspor with Hamit Karadere getting the goal. Manat won a derby match against their city neighbours Almat, Volkan Ayhan grabbing the critical goal in a 1-0 match. Champions Hisar and recently promoted side Tanrispor played out an entertaining 2-2 draw with Yusuf Akman scoring the goal that secured the champions a share of the points. Urukspor decisively beat Bakir 3-0 with young striker Aral Karaman grabbing a goal from the bench. IFT lost out against Kilicspor with youngster Timurdogan Ozbey getting himself yet another goal.

Uryanspor returned to winning ways with a clear 2-0 victory over Demirspor, neutralising their potent offence as well as being able to strike on the counter attack. Manat went to Elektriklestirme and came away with all three points in a clear 3-1 victory. Hisar had an unusually high scoring affair as they came away with a 4-2 victory over Tashkentspor, Yusuf Akman scoring an excellent hat trick. Almat had a much more mundane affair than their city rivals, with a simple 1-0 victory over Urukspor. Newly promoted Tanrispor had an excellent match against Kilicspor, earning a 2-0 victory. IFT scored a last second goal taking all three points against Bakir FK.

Manat solidified their title credentials with a 3-0 demolition of the normally solid Uryanspor defence, Ismail Burhan got a brace as his partner Omer Tameroglu got the other goal. Hisar turned the tables on their city rivals Demirspor, who are usually known for their freewheeling attacking style, winning 3-0 against them. Urukspor failed to win at home, losing out to a Masaki Onishi goal that stole the three points for the visitors. Tashkentspor got an away win over Kilicspor, with Mehmet Karaman scoring a powerful header to open the scoring. IFT and Demir side Almat played out a 1-1 draw, with IFT getting a late goal to earn their share of the points. Young striker Emir Aga scored an exceptional volley, to win Tanrispor a share of the points against Bakir FK.

Champions Hisar beat out Uryanspor on their trip to the title hopefuls, with Gokhan Umut's header providing the winner for the visitors. Manat found themselves shocked as young striker Aral Karaman scored a last minute winner that saw the title challengers fail to even get a share of the points against Urukspor. Demirspor's usually potent offence was only held to one Kartal Unal goal as Kilicspor held them to a draw. Elektriklestirmespor saw off a brave IFT side who put them under a lot of pressure, Ertan Renda's goal enough to seal the home victory. Tashkentspor dominated proceedings with a 3-1 victory over Bakir FK, Altan Seyfi scoring an exceptional volley from 25 yards on their way to victory. Almat edged out the serial overperformers Tanrispor with Cetin Binali's header being the difference between the two sides.

Urukspor shocked title challengers Uryanspor clinging onto a 1-0 lead for most of the match and escaping with the three points. Kilicspor and Hisar had a surprisingly open and free flowing encounter, with both grabbing a goal apiece on their way to a share of the points. IFT fell to leaders Manat at home, with Ismail Burhan's brace combined with Omer Tameroglu's excellent header securing a 3-1 victory of the Demir side. Bakir held the powerhouse offence of Demirspor to a solitary goal on their way to a share of the points. With the league about to take a break for the Vizier's Cup, one match over the halfway mark, it is still very much all to play for with at least four credible challengers for the title still in the race. Manat enter the break with the advantage, holding a one point lead over Elektriklestirmespor who have played beyond almost every expectation. Hisar have recovered from their slow start to the season and find themselves ahead of early favourites Uryanspor by virtue of goal difference and building some momentum which might lead tot hem putting the top two under pressure. Uryanspor's poor form has seen their march towards the title, which seemed almost unstoppable after six matches without conceding a goal, stall under the pressure of being the favourites, a lack of offensive production beginning to bite as the team has not been able to keep clean sheets. Demirspor have stalled slightly accruing a mere 5 points in the last six matches, they still remain within touching distance of the top four. Tanrispor's astounding season continues with them leaving the relegation fight well behind with a comfortable 17 points from 12. Relegation candidates Kilicspor and Urukspor appear to be well clear of immediate danger despite their place in the league table, 7 and 8 points clear of both occupiers of the relegation spots respectively. IFT's stay in the Super League looks likely to be short and Bakir look likely to be joining them in the Workers League next season.

Team Info A strong performance by 1093 Club de Atlantea qualified them for international play. With the International competitions in a flux the Cardinal found themselves in the Dwile Invitational and managed to finish third in their group, barely behind two strong sides in Directus and Kingsgrove. Team Info Al Haxire’s rise the table continues but the likelihood of that continuing for the upcoming seasons seems low. They finally were forced to sell talismanic midfielder Shiloh Morgenstern, a big part of Taeshan qualifying for the World Cup. As Morgenstern leaves for Cosumar the rest of the squad seems less than stellar moving forward. Not a lot of star quality players on the roster and not much to make you think they won’t have difficulty this season. Staying up in the premier league will likely be the biggest task for the side.

That domination seems to be well behind them now as they finish just two spots above a relegation playoff. The Miners were well above the line, but many of their fans have gone from their elation of the last few years, to wondering if they will even compete in the future. The roster moves weren’t exactly the most promising, besides a possible forward prospect in Linus Throgmorton from Ko-oren. The 3-5-2 was employed by the longtime lower league side who early on was a founding member of the Taeshani league system, but never reached the top level. For the first time in their history they have now done that and with a strong defensive set up it seems like a possibility that they could stay around. You could ask how Keppal Cosmos won the league, but that would be kind of boring. There weren't a whole lot of lead changes, nor a down-to-the-wire final day. They won 19 games and only lost 3, there you go.

The more interesting question, perhaps, is how Namiri Forest lost, and to view that collapse we should probably start around Matchday 22. Namiri were in fine form at that point, beating the Rovers "away" in Kerlagrad. Keppal, for their part, administered a beatdown to Spenson; it was 4-0 at halftime, and the Cosmos "only" tacked on two more in the second via Paige Wacker and Satenik Banach.

MD23

Here's where Namiri started to falter. Home against Excelsior Slogda, who are...not good, they couldn't grind out a single goal. Mind you, neither side is exactly an attacking force, but you'd think Namiri would at least have some effort against a dispirited Baran "not even the best player in his own family" Kuznetsov.

If a nil-nil draw was to be expected given the identities of the participants, a match featuring Ephesian should be expected to be...not that. Keppal duly complied, cruising on their momentum to demolish the capital side. Marcie McFisk, a youngster who has struggled with injuries but is impressive when she's on form, scored a hat trick, and fellow diasporan Jerry MacHatch recorded another goal. Greta Hunter-Parr, who's as Peridune as they come, would score two, and Briony Singh added a pretty meaningless goal in injury time. There's probably a story behind how someone with the name Briony Singh wound up in Keppal City. It just might not be a very interesting story. The world is diverse, so is our country, it happens. Anyway, Ephesian scored...two whole goals to only lose by five. Woot.

MD24

Attention turned to Arlington, where the defending champions, now in third place, hosted a surging Keppal. Neither Joel McJakill nor Celeste Fahrenthold were sorely tested, although the latter produced a nice double save off a McFisk attempt. If you hadn't guessed, Fahrenthold is the newest member of the quiet but occasionally inspired Arlington goalkeeper brigade, they do tend to produce eccentrics up there. Kind of makes you wonder about what they say about how it's the most all-around "Zwangzugian" city and stuff. Anyway, she would go on to have some brilliant and also some terrible moments in the Dwile thingy, which is about what Arlington expects.

Fans in Guariday started to get anxious when Kelsey Dreyfur put Twineur 1-0, and then 2-0, up at home. Taranath "only guy who is ever up front" Brar dutifully did his part to put Forest on the board before halftime, but the second half saw the wheels disengage from the public transportation device. Amy Large scored a header from, uh, a large distance, and Nolan Vanderwitt's left-footed blast found the corner of the net after ricocheting off an overwhelmed Shobhana Birla's elbow. Forest fans will claim she played through an injury in the following weeks and that explains a lot. But while her form overall has probably dropped off relative to, say, McJakill, a more neutral observer would probably guess that the wounds were mostly to her pride. I mean, they have enough defenders that it really shouldn't have been an issue. But here we are.

Elsewhere, Canbix Muses were sort of trying to fend off Cham and Trink for the "fifth international spot," but perhaps they too realized that might not be a thing as they drew tepidly with Namiri Independent. Bassabook were chasing Arlington down for third, but they had more to play for by facing their archrivals and trying to keep nemeses 102d out of the top half. This was aided by goals from Kevin Ornati, Lloyd Bowie, and Giovanni Urquhart.

MD25

You may recall that Sporting Esper used to be good. As in, the season before last, they won the championship. However, you may also not have recalled that, in part because you're not an expert on our league, or because these seasons are actually pretty spread out. Another reason you might not think of the Robins as a strong side is because they entered the day in twelfth place.

They finished in ninth, and while even their own partisans probably aren't impressed by this showing, Forest fans are griping. Marlon Sayle-Bren showed why he's a Galactico contender (not really) by drawing a foul from Chevanthi Arokiaraj, and Benjamin Clay-Warren converted the set piece to put the Robins ahead early in the second half. We were then treated to the display of Namiri Forest panicking, actually trying to do some offense for once, running around and making a mess of it, and Esper perhaps unlucky not to take advantage of their shaky positioning.

Which would have been somewhat moot if Keppal hadn't won at the Ayathen Arena. But of course, they did. Rovers United actually took the lead through Duncan Anwhistle, but Cosmos had tied it by halftime via MacHatch. The second half saw the Rovers slack off, a performance not helped by youngster Taya Niss-Hoer's struggles at center-back. Hunter-Parr scored the winner, and even the erstwhile Martin "defenders can do stuff" Scallop got on the scoreboard. Bronwyn Sadler took a little heat for playing the kids in the Rovers press (the Rovers press is extremely thin-spread, but loyal), but in her defense, the starters have had a very long season. Well we've all had a long season in some sense but...you know.

Arlington took down their northeastern rivals, and Bassabook rallied from behind away in Trink, to stay in the hunt; Arlington currently edge out the Old Boys on GD.

MD26

Perhaps we have mentioned once or twice that, despite their influx of Audioslavian talent, Slogda are in fact not good. I mean they're ahead of the Oxen on GD, but like, yeah. Their GD was to decline after another bruising performance by Keppal. Not literally though, except to Kostya Hart-Farm, who limped off after providing the only goal for Alaisti. Well and McFisk actually, who also scored and also was subbed out, but that's more like...sleeveburn. Or something. Anyway Banach of fiber crackers non-fame would record a brace, and diminutive substitute Junie McFarr added the fourth.

Forest shouldn't be shamed by losing to a Bassabook side that attempted to beat them at their own game by bolstering the defense; Urquhart's was the only goal, against the run of play. The visiting fans were, however, pretty aggrieved given their current form, and the hosts' jabs at their singing abilities. Arlington beat the Rovers 3-0 in snowy Shorn to stay in the hunt, while Trink are somehow still in the top half despite shelling five to Namiri Independent.

MD27

Namiri Forest purists would probably be annoyed if we started with the huge scoreline just because it was huge and also the first game of the weekend. So in deference to their frustration, let's skip ahead to their game. They were at home against their cross-district rivals, and...slipped into third behind Arlington after a 1-1 draw. Brar the indefatigable put Forest on the board early, after Suhail Gallop-Brother's poor tackle made him look like he had two left feet. I mean, he does, but...you know.

Salman Barelvi equalized for the visitors, and a dejected Forest couldn't really despite Subroto Parida being taken off at halftime for what one presumes are health reasons, although who really knows with him anymore.

The reason Arlington passed them also had to do with Slogda. With Hart-Farm still out with an injury, Arlington had the run of the place, and Joshua Twoni would open things for the hosts. Riley Kivrin, in turn, assisted Maryam Cespi and Riley Kua, and Sydney Stefred would do her thing by scoring in injury time, provoking many questions about "why was she even that far forward anyway, aren't we supposed to be defensive," and taking advantage of the microphone in her face by insulting some old fogeys.

Keppal widened their lead by defeating Twineur, MacHatch and Banach scoring before Vanderwitt's fairly insignificant goal in the second half. Canbix were annoyed to be held by 102d, Bassabook were more annoyed to be held by the Oxen, and...none of that made the highlight reel because of what was going on down in Frischberg.

By minute 16, Sadler appeared to have quieted critics, because the Rovers were already beating Ephesian 3-0 via goals from Anwhistle, Emily Sper-Harland, and Ian Connolly. Four minutes later, the nominal visitors would get on the board, with Ricardo Valbuena showing that he still has some pace. By halftime, though, the Rover youngsters had continued to dominate. Garrett Balboa-Stein and Jonas McAulesh both scored in quick succession, and Connolly made it 6-1 in the added time of the first half.

We don't know what twisted metaphors Kirk McDonagh delivered at halftime, particularly if the nuances of the time sync mean he wasn't actually there yet, but it led to Ephesian coming back out with a roar, Nubara Moafalia and Owen Glind-Speug scoring within the first five minutes. Alas, the Rovers would rejuvenate their defense from there, with over twenty whole minutes passing before McAulesh could complete his brace. Eustace Yonkers of Ephesian and Corianne Rogawski of the Rovers would trade goals in the last ten minutes; 8-4 your final, and though neither of these teams are in contention, the proceedings in Frischberg served as a reminder of how...idiosyncratic this league can be at times. Not that that's a bad thing or anything, it just is.

MD28

Namiri Forest's once-imposing run ended not with a bang but a scoreless draw in Cham. To add insult to injury, the race isn't even over; Arlington, who were third as recently as, uh, two weeks ago, are still technically in contention, with Cespi's goal away in Twineur keeping their hopes alive. Bassabook were mathematically eliminated last week by drawing with the feeble Oxen, but don't seem to have taken it too hard, as they thwapped Suburbia to, uh, climb into third over Forest on goal difference. I don't think we can really blame a takilan conspiracy for that one, guys.

As can probably be deduced, Keppal continued their winning ways, this time out in ~~Hope City~~ Alden behind goals from Hunter-Parr and McFisk. Allison Levi-Gold's long right-footed effort in the second half denied McJakill and company the shutout.

MD29

Bassabook have, if nothing else, pride on the line, and possibly some international seeding to play for as well but who knows about that. Anyway, they took the lead away in Keppal via Bowie, which briefly lifted the spirits of Arlington fans; City were busy beating the Robins behind goals from Kua and Kivrin. Keppal got down to business in the second half, though, and Briony Singh's goal was enough to secure the championship.

Side note, do the robots who run our economy approve of the metaphor "get down to business"? "Get down to socialist tactics" doesn't really flow well. We're asking the important questions, here.

Anyway, congratulations to Keppal, it's possibly you already knew that for some time. Forest were busy sulking at home, parking the bicycles and doing nothing against Canbix.

MD30

Cosmos were able to take a breather and played the kids against an inspired Namiri. No, not that one; Independent won 1-0 thanks to a Hema Reddy goal. (Forest were busy coming from behind on the road to beat 102d, which probably says...something.)

Bassabook technically stood a chance to climb into second, for whatever that will wind up being worth, had they managed to beat Arlington by five. The thing was, at halftime it looked like they stood a reasonable chance! Goals from Ornati, Jonah McCollins, and Amos Noile-Murne had given them a 3-0 lead, and Fahrenthold was perhaps numb from the Brinemouth encounter. But Cespi would score a brace in the second half to keep City one place lower than last season.

Twineur closed out their season on a high by becoming the third team to put four past Slogda in five weeks. I think there's a rather old-timey poem about Squornshelous that goes here. Um...Squornshelous are actually a country again! The ways of the world.

It pretty much went according to form; a battle of foreign managers and/or teams soon to be led by foreign managers produced the only upset, as Garrett Balboa-Stein's winner was enough for the Rovers to overcome Cham. More consequential, perhaps, were the battles between lower sides, as Trink and Suburbia overcame Slogda and FTC United by multiple goals to earn "top seeding" next round, such as it is. Defender Raisa Enret-James was stalwart for the Suburbians, who you'll recall were thirteenth in the league--somewhat disappointing after a top-half performance last season. The tactical showdown between Forest and Ephesian failed to live up to expectations; Forest were...still probably leading the league this early, or if it was even earlier maybe even chasing down Bassabook. Anyway Taranath Brar was their only goalscorer, and Owen Glind-Speug was Ephesian's.

Spenson held off Trink in the battle of the "big winners," with Candace Daviau's goal the difference after Mathiew Tanev-Isakar and Micah Angier traded first-half goals. The Rovers got a shutout in Great Bear Depot, kind of like they, um, won't next round (spoilers). Ian Connolly and Jonas McAulesh provided the offense there, while Benjamin Clay-Warren's goal was enough for the Robins to stay perfect in Canbix.

Trevor Mellis' goal was enough for Esper to qualify for the "final," such as it is, although if we allow draws it's not much of a final now, is it. Rhetorical question. If we ever get like tied-tied we may need to rejig this system, but like, it's decent enough for what it is. Particularly if it isn't actually used to qualify for anything.

Iiiiiiin other news...

It was a cold and very windy day at Wayr Stadium. The Rovers don't use it as much since the national team is mostly a thing now, but the scheduling for this cup is always a fun surprise. Anyway, they won the coin toss, and chose to attack the favorable end of the field, at least given the wind direction at that moment. Weather aside, Lucas Kukiseso opened the record for Spenson three minutes in. But by minute 19, Duncan Anwhistle had, uh, completed a hat-trick. Emily Sper-Harland's goal made it 4-1 Rovers at halftime.

The Rovers usually have lots of stamina. Usually. Minute by minute, Spenson clawed their way back in the game; Daviau, Lorna Hewitt, and finally Ernesto Valdez' goal in minute 76 to tie it. To the Rovers' credit, they weren't fazed by "momentum," and Connolly scored right off the restart. It would take ten more minutes for Hewitt's second goal to put the Suburbians on top for what turned out to be for good (though not before a very shaky stint of added time; Desmond McGowan was nearly outpaced on a couple occasions).

Both Spenson and Esper were mediocre at best this season, so there was something to play for, but that didn't mean the game amounted to much. Mellis scored about twenty minutes in, and Valdez equalized on a set piece. Dwayne Cavendish is no Paige Daunten in goal, but he seems to have good luck with the woodwork, as it/he denied Spenson on a couple occasions in the second half, while Enret-James' clearances were as nimble as ever. Spenson win the entire thing on GD, and the Robins will only protest a little about "well they got to play Slogda in the first round."

2nd Edition of The Fekadu Financial Power Index - Part I

I would like to say hello, once again, to the readership of the All-Banija Sports Magazine, both at home and abroad! My name is Sololeya Fekadu, PhD. I have earned a bachelor's and a PhD from Northern Moravica University(Go Cougars!), and have worked in the arena of sports management my entire life. When I was in college myself, I was a gymnast. I was a national champion gymnast as a freshman, and my senior year, I finished 3rd at the BCSG(Banijan Collegiate Sports Group) national championships. I've always had a passion for sports, though as many of you know, the career of a gymnast isn't going to last much longer after age 23.

And then, after my completing my undergraduate degree in Sports Management, I worked towards completing my Doctorate in the same field. I was extremely happy when I finished my last degree- at the age of 26. Since then, of course, I have worked in a lot of places in the sports world. I worked as the Athletic Director at Istria Community College, and as the Deputy Athletic Director here at my alma mater. I have also worked in the world of professional sports, proudly serving as the first ever female Board member of the Olympic Committee of Banija, as well as being the organization's Chief Financial Officer for a number of years.

After that, I was offered a dream job- the Deputy Chief Financial Officer of the World Cup 81 Banija/FFR Host Committee. I didn't come on until after that bid was secured, but I was able to work in the nuts and bolts of the finances of a World Cup host committee, working alongside my counterpart, who was the CFO, from FFR. I spent three years in that role, and got to do all kinds of cool things, from helping balance the books for the host committee, to working on the financing for the project of building the new Stadium of the Restoration. A dream job. But, of course, World Cup 81 came to an end, and I figured- what would I do?

And then, I was able to secure a job- as the Dean of the College of Sports Studies at Northern Moravica. We have sports business degrees, sports journalism, Athletic Trainer, etc... Striving to be the top such institution in the region. Regardless of that plug- why do you care who I am? Well, the question was posed after following some transfer window fun- which league is the financially strongest league? Who is the world's richest club? Well, of course, we got to doing some research, and after compiling data on hundreds of clubs, and crunching numbers for thousands of data points, we were able to present the inaugaural Fekadu Financial Power Index, determining what is the world's richest league, and who is the world's most financially powerful club. And now,

Methodology

Now, of course, before we dwelve into the rankings, there needs to be accountability for methodology. How have my graduate students and I come with a ranking? Of course, things like TV contracts, ticket sales, etc... Are private information in the majority of UICA countries- those numbers are not public. But what numbers are public(at least in most countries). The transfer window!

Transfer numbers are good measurements of financial strength. Why? Because in the UICA windows, clubs tend to shell out cash for players, they buy, effective immediately. That means they need cash on hand to complete those purchases, especially when you talk about the challenges of converting local currency to international currency, like NSDs, and then converting it again to the local currency of the clubs you are purchasing from. It is an effective measurement of cash on hand that you are able to burn, and even if they must finance these purchases via credit from banks, that is a decent measurement of how much banks are willing to loan them- which again, is a measurement of financial strength. Raynor City and the Sabrefell Moths, for example, are always going to have a bigger credit line than, say, Suwawa FC. That's just a fact of life. So that is a fair measurement, regardless of whether credit or cash is used to finance purchases.

Now, of course, we used quite a few numbers to rank the leagues. The first thing we should mention, of course, is that to rank leagues and clubs, we only used data points from the most three recent transfer windows. WE figured that was fair, as being the financially strongest club or league is a snapshot in time. Manechester City, of the Equestrian States, for example, spending $90 million NSDs on one player in the 7th window, isn't exactly a fair representation of the financial capabilities of their club right now. We developed a formula to create a financial power index, using a combination of total spending, and average spending per purchase, to be able to compile this list.

Now, of course, as with any academic research project, there is going to be a flaw- nothing is perfect. And we will admit ours. We only have access to a limited amount of data, which is the transfer window. It's not like the Galacticos Index, where they have access to all sorts of data on a player. There is no way for our methodology to tell if Manechester City is still capable of dropping $90 million NSDs on a player- neither the United Hoofball Association, or Manechester City, is going to open their books to us. That's simply not how businesses work, considering we are neither financial regulatory auditors, nor are we potential investors. WE don't know how much revenue those clubs bring in from media rights and ticket sales and all that- we can only measure financial strength that is demonstrated in the transfer window, not any club's or league's potential financial muscle. So the most accurate description would be a demonstrated financial power index. The other flaw, of course, is that it weights nations with clubs who are willing to spend beyond what they have earned in transfer sales, resulting in a surprise or two.

That said, we are giving this project a go. This is going to be a four part series. Part 1, which is being presented today, is going to list the associations that are not among the top 20 in financial power. This, of course, will be a ranking, but it will be just that- a ranking, with their total spending, average per purchase spending, and their total money received in transfer fees. Part 2 will then list the top 20 associations, with those rankings. For these associations, we will release their Financial Power Index number publicly. Part 3, will list the top 20 financially powerful clubs, and Part 4, will list the richest individual transfer fees- the top fees garnered in the last three windows, and the top fees garnered all time, as well as other fun facts about our target time frame(Windows 23-25).

We should also say the following. Last time around, of course, was our first time doing the project. We have worked tirelessly to improve upon the last year, and we can assure you that the products will be more numerically accurate this time. In the last FPI, for the national calculations, we did a poor job of separating out same nation purchases. We are proud to say, that this time around, we have been better able to separate them out. So there might be some volatality because of the improvement of our accurate data on a national level, but not too much.

Note #1: There was a strong debate about how to deal with multi-associational leagues. Should the financial strength of clubs from, say, Freeport, the Equestrian States, and the Crystal Empire be measured seperately, even if they all compete under the United Hoofball Association umbrella? For the purposes of this project, we said yes. They are seperate, independent countries, even if closely aligned, so revenue generation could be different in each one. That, of course, would effect the financial strength of clubs in each nation. Clubs in the Crystal Empire, for example, could maybe make more money than clubs in the Equestrian States, who make more money than clubs in Freeport. There is no way to independently verify this as true or false, so we decided to treat them separately for the purposes of this project.

Note #2: While we took sales into account of measuring financial power, ultimately, purchases needed to be made. So any nations that did not purchase any players, even if they made sales, were not included in our ranking.

Note #3: Free transfers were ignored for the purposes of our data sheet. Transfers listed for $0.00(aka list on the final locked transfers sheet) were included for the purposes of our data.

Note #4: Not every country has requirements disclosing money spent in transfers. So there are countries who got players, but no way for use to figure out how much they spent, or countries whose clubs made sales, but no purchases. Those seven countries that fall into those categories, and therefore, cannot be ranked, are Ceni, New Gelderland, Chromatika, Isles of Avon, Electrum, Port Christopher, Farfadillis, Busoga Islands, Vilita, and Recuecn.

Note #5: Quincy is the interationally recognized successor state of Velestria, which was the internationally recognized successor state of Razenthuria. All purchases made under the names of Razenthuria and Velestria have been applied to the Union of Quincy.

Note #6: As we mentioned before, all data is from Transfer Windows 23, 24, and 25 put together. No window is weighted more than another.

Holders Put Up Valiant Effort as Vizers Cup Finds a New Home

With the long rumoured expansion to TimLig expected soon, eight new teams entered the Viziers Cup with a view to joining the restructured league, these sides tended not to fare well in their first ever experience of professional football. Emirdagspor were seen off 5-0 over two legs and Mavikentspor saw themselves join there fellow aspiring applicant to the TimLig departing in this round. Sogutspor were soundly beaten by Sekerspor 4-0 over both legs and Demir Teknik Universitesi found themselves out of the competition losing 4-1. The only all woman team, Kadin Isciler, who will be trying to join the TimLig as well found themselves beaten soundly over two legs, 6-1 by Asker Takimi. Ispalaspor crashed out after a valiant effort seen off by Altinmaden Isciler 4-2 over both legs. Havranspor also crashed out 4-1 against Karairmakspor. Of the new sides that have entered the cup, Arhavispor progressed after beating Balikcilar away from home to get a 2-1 aggregate victory. Otherwise there was little in the way of upsets with so many evenly matched teams facing off against each other.

The second round saw the entry of the top six Workers League sides at the beginning of the break and the Super League teams. Demir Buyukkentspor managed to win both legs on their way to a 3-0 dispatching of Karspor. IFT managed to recover a little from their poor league form with an extra time win over Bakir FK. Demirspor saw off fellow Super League side Tanrispor, using their away draw as a platform to see them through to the round of sixteen. Manat and Elektriklestirme slugged it out over two legs and extra time resulting in an early exit for Manat and progression for the cup holders. Arhavispor continued their run in the cup with a surprisingly comprehensive 3-1 victory over both legs. The best tie of the round was the extra time bout between Sariirmakspor and Devlet-Bira Fabrika Takimi, which needed a full 119 minutes for the decisive goal to be scored as both teams matched each other through 180 minutes of normal time.

Demir Buyukkentspor suffered a defeat to fellow Workers League side Devlet Memur Takimi, in a tie that ensured at least one lower division side would be in the Quarter Finals. IFT looked to leave their poor league form behind and appeared to have done so with their at times laborious 1-0 extra time victory over Caykur Denizspor. Hisar saw off city rivals Demirspor coming back from a surprising 2-0 defeat away from home with a more astonishing 4-1 victory in the return leg, an unusual number of goals for a team that prides itself on its defensive fortitude. Arhavispor's excellent and captivating progression in this competition after losing out to Sariirmakspor, a last second goal spoiling the spectacle of a future applicant team to the TimLig making the final eight, but it was the fair result given how much time Arhavispor spent on the defensive.

IFT suffered a shocking defeat at the hands of their Workers League opponents, who outclassed them in both legs and looked good value for their 3-0 aggregate victory, Tashkentspor upset league champions Hisar on away goals after an early goal in the second leg was enough of an advantage to leave Hisar in the dust. Cup holders Elektriklestirmespor managed to see off a spirited, yet clearly overmatched Sariirmakspor. Finally Karairmakspor managed to earn an away goals victory over Yildirimspor.

There were, sadly, no shocks to be found in the semi finals, with both Super League sides seeing off their lower division opponents comfortably over both legs, though Elektriklestirme were held to a shock draw at home by Karairmakspor and Devlet Memur Takimi came close to an upset of their own at home. Despite valiant performances by the lower league sides, the holders and their new challengers progressed to the final.

The final was set up as an interesting affair, with the current holders looking to become not only the first team to win the cup, but the first to retain the cup between editions. The early stages of the match saw the two Super League opponents feeling each other out, a back and forth affair where it became clear that neither side's defence would be in a position to cope well with the other's offensive capabilities. First blood would be drawn by Elektriklestirmespor, with the gifted Ertan Renda finding himself in space at the edge of the box where he's so often been deadly and was in this match in the 22nd minute, his shot slipping by the outstretched hand of the Tashkentspor goalkeeper. The similarly gifted Caner Turan left the opposition defence in the dust as he chipped the ball over the goalkeeper who was stuck in no man's land. After half time it took only 9 minutes for talented young midfield Altan Seyfi to score from 30 yards with a furious shot that looked to almost tear the net. Tekin Yavuz, thrown onto the pitch in order to bring any kind of spark did just that with the equaliser, a half volley in the box that careened in off the post. The decisive goal would come a mere two minutes later with international striker Mehmet Karaman placing his shot well and preventing the cup from being retained by Elektriklestirmespor and instead giving it a new home in Tashkent.

TimLig: Elektriklestirmespor Seize Initiative in Super League

With the cup settled, the Super League returned to action, with favourites Uryanspor managing to dispatch Kilicspor with ease as they controlled the entire match from start to finish on their way to a 2-0 win. Urukspor needed an 88th minute header from super sub Aral Karaman to ensure that they didn't drop points against a spirited and well organised IFT side. Hisar managed to shut down an at times potent Bakir FK offensive performance with their stout defence and fortunate goals ensuring victory. Manat managed to put the promoted upstarts in their place with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Tanrispor. Demirspor managed to overcome a stubborn Almat side in a derby match in the capital. Tashkentspor dented Elektriklestirme's title hopes in a rematch of the Viziers Cup final, this time the hosts were unable to score a single goal as Tashkentspor ran away with a 3-0 win.

IFT put up surprising resistance to Uryanspor, with both sides putting on defensive masterclasses, but Azer Erdinc would break the deadlock with a free kick from 28 yards. Bakir recovered from their 2-0 defeat the previous week with a 2-0 win of their own over Kilicspor. Tanrispor returned to their typically impressive form with a 1-0 win ensured by Emir Aga's goal. The secondary Demir derby resulted in a 1-1 draw with Hisar needing to wait until the 89th minute to get their share of the points. An excellent Altan Seyfi goal from 25 yards ensured their victory over title contenders Manat. Finally Elektriklestirmespor's impressive Hinodejin right winger Masaki Onishi scored an awkward effort that he bundled over the line after a goalmouth scramble to force Demirspor to share the points after a dominant performance up to that point.

Uryanspor salvaged a critical point as Bakir FK looked as if they were going to secure a shocking three points. IFT failed to recover from an early Emir Aga goal that saw the more successful of the promoted sides show their greater quality. Kilicspor and Almat played out a boring draw, with little in the way of clearcut chances being produced by either side. Metin Aytacoglu needed to produce a moment of individual brilliance with an overhead kick from outside the box to get Tashkentspor a share of the points at Urukspor. Ertan Renda helped Elektriklestirme over come a surprisingly stout and energetic Hisar side. Finally Demirspor managed to embarrass their city rivals with Kartal Unal getting a brace as they dented their city rival's title chances.

Tanrispor got possibly their most impressive result of the season, with Emir Aga's 73rd minute poacher's effort shocking Uryanspor as they fell to defeat. Almat and Bakir relied on their midfielders to ensure their defensive showdown was not a goalless affair. The most exciting match happened in Tashkent as IFT put on one of their best performances of the season only to find themselves unjustly denied a share of the points by Mehmet Karaman's 81st minute header. Kilicspor failed to recover from an early setback allowing Elektriklestirmespor to defend their home stadium and keep all 3 points. Demirspor made it almost look effortless as the looked very good value for their 2-0 win over Urukspor. Manat kept themselves in the title race with a huge victory in the Class War derby, dispatching their fierce rivals Hisar 3-1.

Uryanspor managed to recover from their setback at the hands of Tanrispor with a nervy 1-0 win as they fell to ten men against Almat. Tashkentspor would score four goals for the second week in a row, but this time would find themselves on the wrong end of a free flowing match with Tanrispor scoring five, Emir Aga getting himself an excellent hat trick. Ertan Renda's 82nd minute free kick would see Elektriklestirmespor earn their three points in Uryan against Bakir FK. IFT stunned the competition with an excellent 4-2 win over Demirspor with elder striker Tufan Kizilirmak scoring a great hat trick. Manat were slowed down just enough by Kilicspor's defence allowing them to hang onto a draw. Hisar managed to edge out Urukspor, despite looking under pressure for large portions of the match.

Hywel Wodework's first ever goal in the Super League, a volley from deep on the left side of midfield got Uryanspor an essential three points as their title challenge needs a spark to keep up with Elektriklestirmespor, who also won 1-0 against Almat, a Masaki Onishi deflected effort being the difference in that match. Hamit Karadere scored a hat trick as Demirspor wreaked havoc against Tanrispor who could only muster two consolation goals in response to the masterclass put on by the Demir side. Manat were held by a determined Bakir side, Bayram Tansu's late brace preventing the Demir side from taking the points for themselves. IFT followed up their unexpected and excellent victory with a very credible if haphazard draw against Hisar. Timurdogan Ozbey continued his good season with an early goal that saw Kilicspor win against Urukspor.

Elektriklestirmespor hold onto a narrow two point lead over both Manat FK and Uryanspor setting up an enticing three way competition for the title. With Demirspor, Hisar FK and Tanrispor looking like outside contenders for the title, with Tanrispor especially delighted with the season they've had so far, vastly exceeding all expectations both in terms of their performances match to match and their position in the league table, needing only a solitary point to ensure that they will be gracing the Super League again next season. Tashkentspor occupy a no man's land, not in any danger of being relegated, but too far adrift of the very top of the table to make a run at the title, they will be slightly disappointed with the way the season has played out in terms of the league table, but they have put in title worthy performances to build from this season. Kilicspor and Almat JK look to be relatively safe from the threat of relegation, with both being competitive in almost every match they've played, Urukspor however, are now likely to be looking over their shoulders at Bakir FK hoping that their form doesn't pick up and leave them in the second relegation spot. IFT are at the foot of the table, still in single digits in the points column, though their performances have at times been admirable, they have lacked the finesse to take points from teams around them and at times have lacked luck.

The fixture generator (by which we mean the Casaran bracket) gave us some tantalizing prospects here with Bassabook-102d and Forest-Ephesian. And then...everyone forgot how to score goals, basically.

Since an exhaustive list of goals is actually feasible, let's do it; Riley Kua for Arlington, Tina Gaulladet for Ephesian, Aki Iyanaga for Trink, Clyde Crystal-Sap and Myrtle Wagner (x2) for Cham, and Kostya Hart-Farm for Slogda. Wheeeeeee.

We had to re-do these a couple times because teams kept getting duplicated/omitted. But after the dust settled, it was Arlington who came back to rally against Cham, recording one of their "eponymous hat tricks" (the fact that they really can't figure out how to designate "forwards" even after all this time is a bit disconcerting, but like, they're a popular side, we'll let them have it) before Maryam Cespi completed her brace and Joshua Twoni scored. Cham had taken the lead via Lolicia and Edwin Cherenkov-Nguyen.

Ephesian were strong from the get-go, with Trey Rufus and Owen Glind-Speug scoring in the first half-hour, but a tired Agiroy was flagging in the second half and Eyob Zonde was able to outpace her. Aren't we glad I came up with so many defenders' names.

Keppal-Bassabook was engaging even though both of them were more focused on the league; it would be Lloyd Bowie who provided the late winner for the visitors.

The northeastern showdown isn't an archrivalry--them having been good at different times might have something to do with that--but there's a little bit of tactical pride on the line when Arlington and Zwischen meet. This time it was the visitors who would come out on top, with Twoni and Kua scoring in quick succession after a scoreless first half. Jaclyn Burkhart would attempt to pull the hosts back into it, but to little avail.

In Nuel, the Rovers raced off to an early lead through Emily Sper-Harland and Corianne Rogawski. Twineur tied it with a brace from Jonathan Broad-Wentworth (a descendant of Patrick Wentworth-Eyrie, who played for them and the national team in the Eagles' Cup era; I'm not sure how all that hyphenating worked over the years) on either side of halftime, but Tell-Diri provided a late winner for the Rovers to have the, uh, "pleasure" of facing Arlington in the final. Ione Friede scored Canbix' first goal of the tournament which was probably nice.

In the battle of the Namiris, it was Forest who emerged with a shutout, and no doubt they'll be patting themselves on the back after somehow not getting one in that first round when over two-thirds of the league managed it. They also scored goals, via Taranath Brar and Kalyan Patwardhan.

And then in a throwback to the MUFN days, Arlington ran wild. Kua scored two and his not-really namesake Kivrin scored one, before Jonas McAulesh put the Rovers on the board. Their defense was unruly as well as tired, leading to set pieces converted by Twoni and Simon Osnes.

Following the match, a historically-minded but woefully incompetent Moon-Tribune reporter inquired whether Arlington's defensive stylings make them more likely to succeed in cup competitions than league ones, given their qualification for the VCI four seasons ago and the Cupcake Cup in the era of Bennett Covy and Melissa Prine and Kai Masson. Stefred's response got her suspended for her next two games.

So, I wanted to provide decent international competition to Lisander Female Football. Lisander Female Football system is not a UICA feeder since male and female sports are separated in Lisander. I know some nations separate football by sex, so I decided to offer this championship, the Diamond League. If any nation is interested, please let me know and/or publish or edit previous posts to include a female-only league. No ranks should apply to first edition, since there's no previous competition.

The expected number of teams is the default: 16, 24 or 32, but any even number should be nice. One puppet per nation, as usual, is allowed. Maximum of three teams per nation.

Tentative cut-off is tied to the new IFCF tournament cutoff.

Manat took the lead on goal difference as Uryanspor and Elektriklestirmespor held each other to a draw while Ismail Burhan's 77th minute goal was enough for Manat to take victory against their city rivals Almat. Tanrispor overtook both Hisar and Demirspor after they defeated the former 2-1 and Demirspor lost out to a Caner Turan brace. The Uryan derby ended with a bore draw, while IFT got a critical win in their quest for an unlikely survival.

Uryanspor managed to hold onto the lead that Fatih Alpaslanoglu delivered to them in the 38th minute position them as the main challengers to Manat who easily dispatched Elektriklestirmespor with a 4-1 victory at home placing them in pole position with two matches left. Hisar and Tashkent played out a back and forth contest where neither side could create a clear difference resulting in a 2-2 draw. While Urukspor and Almat relied on set pieces for their two goals, each earning them a share of the points. Kilicspor and Tanrispor played out a bore draw in Kilic. IFT effectively confirmed their relegation with the odds of them remaining in the Super League now almost too long following a 1-0 defeat to Bakir FK.

Uryanspor took top spot from Manat directly with a clear 2-0 victory over the Demir side, with the usually potent attacking play absent for the visitors. Demirspor demolished their city rivals 3-0 with the much vaunted Hisar Defence collapsing under the forceful offensive play of Demirspor. Elektriklestirmespor ensured that they have a chance at the title as we move into the final match with a clear 2-0 victory over Urukspor. Tashkentspor midfielder Altan Seyfi showed why he was considered one of the brightest young talents with two exceptional long range goals against Kilicspor. IFT confirmed their relegation, but put on a good performance against Almat. Bakir gave themselves a chance at remaining in the Super League with their 1-0 shock win over Tanrispor.

Uryanspor squandered their chance at the title, being held by Hisar to a draw. Elektriklestirme did everything they could against doomed IFT, with a strong 3-1 win to end the season, though they could not do enough to win the league, as Manat had managed to seal the title with a goal that came a mere minute after Elektriklestirmespor's final goal, Marian Ironside's goal sealing the title on the final day. Demirspor closed their campaign with a narrow 2-1 win over Kilicspor, while cup winners Tashkentspor closed strongly condemning Bakir FK to relegation while Tanrispor and Almat JK played a dull match to close the season.

There have been many players who have had exceptional seasons, whether it's the completeness of Ertan Renda's efforts, Caner Turan's constant wreaking of havoc on opposition defences or Ismail Burhan's excellent 19 goal campaign, none quite match up to the achievement of Murat Yigithan, keeping a clean sheet in 13 out of 22 matches that's 59% of the matches he was in goal. Simply an astounding achievement that may feel bittersweet with the lack of league title to go with it, but Uryanspor know that as long as they have him, they wont need to worry about competence between the sticks.

Newcomer of the Year: Emir Aga (Tanrispor)
Honorable Mentions: Masaki Onishi, Altan Seyfi, Timurdogan Ozbey

With an influx of young and foreign players who have played fantastically, it is very hard to pick just one who should win this award. That being said, as great as Altan Seyfi has been, performing fantastically across almost every appearance he made and Timurdogan Ozbey's fantastic scoring record. Emir Aga has just about edged out Masaki Onishi who was excellent this season, Emir Aga's goalscoring record and fantastic play for the newly promoted Tanrispor more than earned him this award.

Foreigner of the Year: Hywel Wodework (Uryanspor)
Honorable Mentions: Masaki Onishi, Marian Ironside, Susanne Mpenza

While Masaki Onishi had a spectacular season, scoring many goals and creating even more for Elektriklestirmespor and Marian Ironside had a quietly excellent season, her experience showing in the way she was able to control matches with consummate ease and some may have thought the raw, yet obviously gifted Susanne Mpenza should have got this award, it has been granted to Mpenza's teammate. Left back Hywel Wodework, who had an exceptional season, shutting down almost every player he came up against, a rarity in a league that lacks defensive fortitude at times. His strong, no nonsense defensive play, while not capturing the imagination in the way more offensive players do, was more than worthy of this award.

Young Player of the Year: Kartal Unal (Demirspor)
Honorable Mentions: Emir Aga, Altan Seyfi, Berker Balkan

It should give much optimism to fans of the national team that so many young capable players have emerged in the Super League. Berker Balkan has put in such strong performances that many have suggested that he should be elevated to the national team. Similar things have been said about Altan Seyfi who has shown usual class and composure in the centre of midfield this season. Emir Aga has torn apart opposition defences, but so had Kartal Unal for Demirspor while he may have benefited from a system that enhances the abilities of the strikers who play within it, he still needed to put the ball in the back of the net and he did so, at times with consummate ease.

Manager of the Year: Selim Tansu (Tanrispor)
Honorable Mentions: Marat Yuseinov, Osman Zulbekaroglu, Yahsiboga Levni

While many would have thought that the manager who led Manat to their first ever league title would be guarenteed this award, or at the very least the overachievement of Elektriklestirmespor or the cup winning exploits of Tashkentspor would grant their managers this honour, it has in fact been given to the Tanrispor manager. Not only for exceeding expectations, but for the manner they did so a mere 9 points behind the eventual champions with many impressive results along the way, the challenge for Selim Tansu will be to replicate this form next season now that expectations have been set.

NS Baranillian Football Season 3 - Liga Supre Season 1:

Introduction
This season for Baranillian football oversaw it merge with the much smaller football league of Wara-Salas, which was promptly met with laughter from the Baranillian audience. This laughter was enhanced when it was announced that ten Wara-Salassian teams would join with the ten Liga Baranil teams to form the “Liga Supre” as how could a nation that has only two professional teams compete with a nation of 5.3 million huge football fans?

The Wara-Salassi Football Championship failed to become one of the four foreign football leagues with a large viewership in Baranil last season as it was low quality and uncompetitive with Sczenaspor winning eleven titles, Obadirspor winning six and Cimbonom winning a single title whilst none of the other seventeen Liga 1 eligible teams lifting the Liga 1 title.

This was known by the Baranillian Football Association and Wara-Salassi Football Federation and was a primary reason for the merger – so that Sczenaspor and Obadirspor would be challenged.

Another reason for the merger is the previously mentioned lack of interest in Wara-Salassi football in Baranil as almost every Baranillian’s favourite foreign team lied in either Liga Eraman (61%), Liga 2 Eraman (4%), the Seraxinbourghian National Premier League (16%), or Élite League One (18%) with Wara-Salas having the favourite foreign football team for only 0.7% of Baranillians. The Wara-Salassi Football Federation had hoped that the extra money made from the Baranillian supporters and the extra games that their teams will play will help a third team (most likely Crnospor) go professional and make Wara-Salassi football teams more appealing for people to cheer for. (Statistics were accurate as of the middle of last season, Liga Eraman will be even larger than Liga 2 Eraman now due to the promotion of Royal Cittapura.)

With shirts of foreign football teams decorating Baranil’s population when their favourite team isn’t playing (as wearing the shirt of a Baranillian football team in public would likely start an argument or even a fight), this mergence will hopefully also help sell Wara-Salassi football shirts to Baranillians and boost the revenue for their clubs whilst Baranillian teams will almost certainly take what used to be Wara-Salas’ third Globe Cup slot and Wara-Salas’ third SBCC slot along with the associations getting six CMFA Champions League spaces between them now their leagues have merged instead of eight (though that will likely not affect Baranillian teams) along with how Baranillian teams, especially in the inaugural Liga Supre, are projected to kick the living daylights out of Wara-Salas’ teams and suddenly Baranil having to share their Cygnus Cup spot and the extra revenue for Wara-Salas’ clubs looks fair.

Mordov Rogak is the favourites to win the league with Sparta Kuban, Dynamo Vodvok, Lokomotiv Kuban, Sczenaspor and Obadirspor expected to accompany the Lizards to the CMFA Champions League whilst UFA, Prsicornom, Eitrinom and Oenospor are projected to get relegated with Saitamaspor expected to narrowly avoid the drop this season

Playoffs
A few weeks before the season started there was the Playoffs, where the 4 Liga 1 Playoff winners played against eachother to see who would play in Liga Supre and who would play in Liga Adalante. The matches were held at Sczenastadion, home of Sczenaspor on Saturday with kick offs taking place at 12:30pm and 7:30pm in order to allow fans of Egrazinaspor and fans of Teerathzspor to leave Sczenastadion prior to the entry of Kvosinom and Beriskas fans.

On the Sunday of the same weekend, at 2:30pm, the Liga Nacionale Playoffs ensued. In these 16 matches the 16 teams who played in the Promotion Playoffs or were relegated each hosted a team who played in either the relegation playoffs or the fourth tier the previous season. The winners of these matches would play in Liga Nacionale while the losers would play in the Conferenzie.

Zenit Kuban qualified for the Vilitan Cove Invitational due to them being the highest placed team who failed to qualify for the Globe Cup/Champions Cup.

As predicted, the Baranillian teams ran riot on the Wara-Salassi teams during the inaugural Liga Supre season with all 4 relegated teams coming from Wara-Salas and Baranil claiming the maximum allowance of Globe Cup spots.

In a shock upset however, Sparta Kuban's new manager Vladmir Czenko helped them glide to 101 points which allowed them to win the league 4 points ahead of runners-up and the bookies favourites by a mile - Mordov Rogak.

The final team who achieved over 90 points this season was Lokomotiv Kuban who came in 3rd place with an impressive 93 points coming from the 30 wins and 3 draws that they achieved during the 38 game season.

At the other end of the table were Saitamaspor and Eitrinom, who both achieved over 30 defeats with Saitamaspor going winless for the entire year and only picking up 5 draws which has lead to discussions as to whether or not they should even be allowed to compete in the Liga Adalante next season or whether they should be relegated two tiers to give them a chance of winning a few games.

Tiers 2 to 4
Liga Adalante was much more competitive than Liga Supre between Baranillian and Wara-Salassi teams as 2 Wara-Salassi teams managed to claim a promotion place into Liga Supre and Wara-Salassi teams managing to claim half of the SBCC places though on the flip side they did claim 2/3 relegation places.

Youth Leagues
The Baranillian Football Federation and the Wara-Salassi Football Association agreed that the 4 non-University teams who were qualified to the top flight of Baranillian Youth Football, Sparta Kuban Ekademikol and 5 Wara-Salassi teams would form the Youtr Lig 1 where each nation will send 1 team to the Youth Cup each season and 1 team to the Youtr Lig 2.

They also announced the foundation of the Universisi Lig, where the 5 University teams who played in the top flight of Baranillian Youth Football, Universisi de Vodvok and a team from both of Wara-Salas' Universities - Universidad de Wara-Salas as well as Wara-Salas Eskol de Technologica would compete for 3 IUCC places.

Final site bids
IFCF Champions League: Stade Outineau, with a seating capacity of over 81,000, is the largest stadium in Kelssek. The stadium was built for World Cup 46 and hosted the final which saw Dancougar beat Daehanjeiguk 5-4. It was also the venue of the final for the 44th UICA Champions’ Cup. Its main tenant is the Nordiques RFC rugby union team. The stadium is built adjacent to a Kelssek National railyard in a former industrial area on the Royal Canal. The site's historic use in shipping and industry is commemorated with a statue of a longshoreman at the stadium's Quai-Saint-Charles entrance, which faces the canal and is the main pedestrian route from downtown Outineau.

IFCF Challenger's Cup: Macquarie Docklands Stadium (capacity 55,700). Home of the rugby and soccer teams of Latrobe AFC, the "Dock" is located on the city's former port area which is now full of yuppies and overpriced bistros. Latrobe has a lively music and arts scene, two top research universities, and is a centre for the software, media, and auto industries. The small shops, cafés, and galleries of the old city's winding alleys are a diverting way to spend an afternoon.

IFCF Cup Winners Cup: Griffin Park (capacity 39,200). Located in the city centre of Novonaya, the stadium hosted athletics events and the closing ceremonies of the 12th Summer Olympics. Home of Rotor Novonaya RFC and FC Novonaya. A city of over 1 million, Novonaya was the historic stronghold of the Vanardian warlords who imposed order by force of hooves and arms on the surrounding plains. A family-friendly taste of the nomadic marauder life can be had at Prairielands Park. Hipsters and craft beer can be found in Dogeport.
