An "Off-the-Books" NATO Special Forces RP Group created by Ontorisa.
Enter, the mysterious Task Force Aegis, a supposed "Research & Development" department of NATO. Founded in 2001 following the events of the September 11th attacks, Task Force Aegis has been reportedly conducting "classified documentation of international individual interactions" in order to further their ambiguous research goal. What many do not know however, is that Task Force Aegis is in reality, a highly classified, special operations combat group recruited from the best special forces every NATO country can offer. Their mission is to carry out operations within foreign countries, both hostile, neutral, and friendly, to ensure that the interests of NATO are secured and any sensitive information does not fall into the hands of hostile countries.
Utilizing an assortment of equipment, and officially being simply a scientific department of NATO, operators within Task Force Aegis are prepared in advance to be completely independent of outside help. This means that the task force's operators are highly proficient in various skills, highly motivated, equipped, and well-trained.
ABOUT
Players will create an operator from any real-day NATO country's special forces, and are welcomed to be as creative as they want with their application. However, the In-Character make-up of Task Force Aegis are mostly personnel drawn from NATO countries in the United States of America, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Canada.
Every operation is dynamic, but will stick to a linear story line/static goal. Each operation's outcome is dependent on whether or not if the operating group has completed various objectives and/or have been successful in their operations. This means that although the linear story line/static goal may call for the downfall of an oppressive regime, if the operators were unsuccessful, the new reigning government may be less friendly or downright hostile to NATO instead of a friendly or neutral attitude. Therefore, it is imperative that in each operation, every operator pays close attention to what they are supposed to do and not do.
The RP Group is inspired by aspects of the video game Ghost Recon: Wildlands, although it takes no actual parts of the game from it. The "Deployments" method is a new concept in which players will be starting out from small safehouses in various countries throughout the number of RPs, and will be able to coordinate operations against hostile forces. As each operation is dynamic, and the operations themselves do not have to include the entire roster, this allows a constant flow of activity for participants as Task Force Aegis is not limited to just one thread and instead can run multiple In-Character threads at the same time. These operations will tend to be independent from one another, and will only rely on small four-man teams to complete them. As a result, this allows for maximum "drop in, drop out" fluidity so as long as an individual does not go inactive during the middle of an operation. This also ensures that recently joined players do not have to idle about in the "safehouse" thread, and can instead immediately start planning operations with other idle players before undertaking them, preventing the grind and waiting process on other players.
RULES
2. Co-OPs are an extension of the OP's authority, treat them as you would treat the OP.
3. No one liners, ninth grade grammar and spelling minimum. I'd like at least a paragraph/post.
4. No Godmodding or Metagaming, offenders will be punished.
5. Your political views and offensive terms (to an extent) are allowed IC, but keep it easy in the OOC, it's an RP.
6. Since all operatives have a formal military training, I expect your characters to be able to follow orders from their superiors. Punishment by operatives' superiors are permitted IC if commands are not followed.
8. Just because this is a war RP doesn't mean that people are devoid of emotion. Even the most hardened and distant veterans show emotion. Bonds will develop in the RP and will be tested whether through conflict or interactions. These can be avoided, but most of the time a character will surpass their limit and explode. Keep this in mind, we're all human after all.
9.Violence is a cornerstone of this RP. Grisly incidents will be portrayed, and it is up to you to respond to them accordingly. While all characters are to be of military/special forces backgrounds, everyone has their limit and you must decide when your character has a break.
10. No one is superhuman, characters will feel the pressure of their operations, fatigue and the stress of fighting. Remember that.
11. Realism, you can't run and gun through an entire compound without any consequences.
12. Have a good time, come on guys, this is an relaxed-ish RP Group.
