Thats what I thought as well but seems like the absolute mad man has other ideas.

You have to be disillusioned if you think the SDF has the upper hand in this.

the SDF was doomed from the start.

you cant fight a proper army with shitty light infantry.

“Revolutionary states” are bad at defending themselves

Funny. ISIS also showed images of how good life was in the Caliphate.

And...YPG also shows how good life is in Rojava.

This whole argument means literally nothing. Sides do propaganda. Big deal.

not really dumping them as *handing them back to syria*

Good point, though I suspect that no one except Turkey wants that to happen until the fighting has died down, hence the 'dumping'.

Nice way to write off millions of lives like they don't matter. doubt you would like it if someone said the same about wherever you're from

Where i come from is a good place so that doesnt happen. Also its a shame people are dying but theyre syrians far away so i dont really care, and all these isis attacks all happened because of syrians so screw those guys. Not even when iraq got dunked on did they start mass terrorizing abroad, sure they rebelled within their country but they didnt run people over abroad with trucks and cars and shoot up shit, they kept it within their turf
defending their land which i can respect.

Seems like they're near Raqqa. Or even already past it. That's a major gain for them. More oil supplies plus a better airforce location.

I am surprised Assad even offered a olive branch (No pun intended) to Rojava considering how at odds their ideologies are, but nevertheless, when your country is being invaded by a jingoist, all disputes have to go aside.

The Ba’athists legitimately want to end the religious squabbles that divide Syria, and so far, Assad has done a good job of stopping the internal conflicts between Christian and Muslims and uniting Syria against ISIS and the rebels

In a few select areas, and even then it's against a force with AKs, T-55s and some unguided autocannon AA. Unless I'm mistaken the only modern part of the YPG's arsenel is some modern RPGs that were sold/donated to them recently to help with defeating ISIS.

It's been true that the middle east's leaders have been terrible for decades. The fact that the YPG has to go to Assad as the 'next best guy' is an example of how bad their neighbours are.

Assad’s entire ideology is a united Syria, similar to the union during the American Civil War. Him abandoning the Kurds would be a betrayal to the ideology his party was built upon
