This would be ideally rectified by GM hiring more people, as many would love to work at one of their cushy middle class jobs. But since GM is essentially the bitch of the gov, it cant happen.

We don't. Just as we don't with IQ tests. IQ tests are OK-ish for what they're intended for (diagnosis of intellectual disabilities), but of minimal use for anything else.

No, but I've seen people say "you're the idiot for thinking I'm an idiot." To determine who is right, and therefore who to believe on other matters, we need a more objective measure of who is right.

They are useful in university admissions as schools (especially elite private schools) and teachers can and often are pressured to inflate grades making GPA and class rank of little value between institutions.

I don’t know what schools you’re applying to, but not even fucking Harvard requires IQ tests.

Tbf a SAT is a better predictor of college success than an IQ test.

Same with the ASVAB. Both the SAT and the ASVAB are aptitude tests which measure how you are able to learn. If you score highly on them you have a far better chance at finishing college and learning than someone who doesn’t. Neither test however mesures intelligence

Indeed. If someone had made several bad decisions, but was shown to have a very high Brain Power Level(or whatever), we wouldn't start listening to them based on that alone. And likewise the reverse, if someone had previously demonstrated good judgement, we'd trust their judgement, even if they had a bad Brain Power Level.

As far as I'm aware, measures such as IQ are used in educational contexts for assessment of, for instance, intellectual disability on the one hand and giftedness on the other and the need for special education. It also has a wide range of social correlations that help predict life outcomes, which gives it research value.

Bad decisions, like... mistakenly assuming someone has a low "Brian Power" level only to find out they have a high one?
