SUGGESTION: Card Search

Postby Australian rePublic » Sat Sep 07, 2019 3:08 am

If I wish to look for a specific card, you can just look up said nation, click a few buttons ansd your done. But if you wanna search for a specific Ex-nation card, well that feature isn't avaliable. Bring in my suggestion-

A card search, where you can search for any nation, existing or ex-nation, and it'll show you it's card

There is a workaround, at least for Season 1.
https://www.nationstates.net/page=deck/card=488371 is my card, and https://www.nationstates.net/page=dispa ... nid=488371 is my nation ID.

Testlandia's card is 1 and their nation ID is 1. Your card is https://www.nationstates.net/page=deck/card=261305 while your nation ID is 261305.

Find the nation you want in the boneyard, figure out their nation ID, open your card, then edit the URL to find yours.

Assuming you know how to get to the boneyard. https://www.nationstates.net/page=boney ... n_republic is your nation. Then click the factbook or dispatch link - look at the url, the number there 'nationid=261305' is yours. Re the card ID/nation ID being the same, I only took a glance now, so it's possible that it isn't a rule, but I just checked with a couple of nations and it fits the pattern so far.

Ballotonia has stated on the card server (and maybe on the forum?) that one of the reasons why the ID was added to the boneyard was to make it easier to find cards of CTEed nations.

Additionally, it's been confirmed both by admins (again, at least on the card server) and players that card IDs are the same as the nation IDs available through the API.

So, I'd say it's safe to treat card ID, nation ID, and boneyard ID as one and the same.
