For anyone that doesn't know, we did a picks league for all the games from last year. It was a lot of fun, and we'll be doing it again this year. I'm probably not going to like this, but I'll pick a dog of the week. Jacksonville (in bold) having had the encounter with Hurricane Dorian is my chosen dog of the week.

Some dude from NJ talk radio thinks that the Jets signing Carli Lloyd as a kicker is a great idea.

Luckily, there would be other people on the field with her during kickoffs. The Jets had one total tackle from their placekicker position last year. There’s good arguments against Lloyd kicking in the NFL, but the idea that kickers are defensive game changers during kickoffs is weird. Besides a few highlight tackles a year, actual kickers are essentially useless on returns.

Zeke Elliott signs a 6 year contract with the Cowboys for $90 million. That's a lot of bananas for a RB. More than Lev Bell got doing negotations his way. Eat your heart out Bell. Now you're third highest paid RB.

BTW, what is Melvin Gordon's trade value after the bizarre Dolphin/Texan deal? Timing is everything. Teams are telling the Spawn of Spanos he won't get much.

Bell got less from the J-e-t-e than he would have had if he'd just signed the Steelers' first offer.

Apparently the Eagles reached out but were rejected since the Chargers want 1st and 5th round picks and for his remaining salary to be paid. There's no way someone is going to pay for his remaining salary and I don't think there's a team that wants to pay him big bucks right now. But yeah, Bell had a better chance to get a deal with Steelers and his greed failed him.

Rely? No, but it makes things easier. I'm more relying on my receiving core performing at a high level and my running game performing as expected.
