So you're saying the cheering and gloating when Chavez and Castro died were justified. Koch not directly inflicting violence means nothing if the end results of his agenda still result in people suffering and struggling.

Okay, so, I'm not very well knowledged in this subject. I know who David Koch is but I don't know much about his actions apart from his business ventures and what he did in politics. Nevertheless, I am somewhat aware of him funding certain people in politics to get them in power which isn't something I'm terribly keen on and raises some suspicion on him. Also he apparently funded the spread of non-scientific views of climate change or something??? I can't really formulate much of an opinion about his death.

I have taken a look at some of his political views and they seem fairly agreeable although I have only scratched the surface about them. I heard he has supported libertarians and conservatives, two groups which I find their American streams to be hit or miss, often miss. The majority of people that seem to be celebrating his death are people on the far-left or otherwise American progressives on the somewhat far-left side which I also really don't like.

Overall I don't really have much feeling in regards to his death. If anyone could inform me more about him that would be nice. I'm expecting some very mixed responses from many points of views given how highly controversial he apparently is

I'm not sad to see Koch go given how much damage he did to the average American through backing some of the worst elements of the Republican party.

He is one of the ultimate incarnations/personifications of capitalism as a force of change (especially Western American capitalism).

However, I disagree with some of his policies and actions, when a person has a wallet of that magnitude, they earn a portion of unconditional respect.

David Koch's father Fred Koch managed to build a huge and successful business empire and the Koch brothers have managed that empire well, to me that's the sign of a successful and prestigious family worthy of respect in society
Purgatio is an absolutist hereditary monarchy run as a one-party fascist dictatorship, which seized power in a sudden and abrupt coup d'état of 1987-1988, on an authoritarian eugenic and socially Darwinistic political philosophy and ideology, now ruled and dominated with a brutal iron fist under the watchful reign of Le Grand Roi Chalon-Arlay de la Fayette and La Grande Reine Geneviève de la Fayette (née Aumont) (i.e., the 'Founding Couple' or Le Couple Fondateur).

For a domestic Purgation 'propagandist' view of its role in the world, see: An Introduction to Purgatio.

And for a more 'objective' international perspective on Purgatio's history, culture, and politics, see: A Brief Overview of the History, Politics, and Culture of Le Royaume du Nettoyage de la Purgatio.

There are much worse elements frankly - in both parties.

I despised his politics. He struck me as one of the posterchildren for all that is wrong with US politics and campaign finance, and if anybody asks I'll point out that I have similar issues with Soros.

Does that mean I'm glad he's gone? Well, probably. Will his passing change much? Probably not.

I won't dance over his proverbial grave though. If anything, I find myself as phenomenally ambivalent as can be. Death comes for us all.

Yes, Fred Koch was among those businessmen who saw Hitler's fascist takeover of Germany and thought "Gotta get me some of them reichsmarks".

If the date provided is correct it appears Koch stopped doing business with Nazi Germany before most other major American companies stopped doing business.

So maybe Ifreann is singing Mr Koch's praise.
