Or maybe we need Liu Zhongjing's Cathaysianism. There needs to be many small Chinese states and small Russian states. Ethics is only relevant when there is balance of power. If some side can pull off a political variant of Cixin Liu's Dark Forest and get away with it almost nobody will respect legitimacy as those who give a shit about it tend to be destroyed by those who don't.

The main problem with the current obsession with African-related issues is that it diverts attention from much deadlier and more important issues that can end humanity and that it erodes trust in the soc liberal consensus. Most people don't realize how soc lib they actually are. Even Neo-Nazis I know almost never support many authoritarian practices outside the Hajnal line such as lifelong subjugation of adult men by their parents.

What soc libs in the West don't understand is that they are allying with or at least having truce with a much worse enemy against a minor one. When coders in China help the fucking CCP finish a previously unimaginable mass surveillance system using machine learning (yes, PRC is actually good at it because it is good at obtaining big data since there aren't any human rights) freedom will be over worldwide.
