Host Announcement

I'm excited for the start of Qualifying! However, it has been brought to my attention that it is unclear when Matchday 1 is.

The intention is for the schedule's dates to be read in terms of the EDT cut off times. We apologise for any confusion. The first cutoff is August 1st at 10 PM EDT- or 28 hours from this spot. That is equivalent to 2 AM UTC on August 2nd. We apologise for the confusion.

Great idea for the future. Stop assuming everyone on theinternet is American, and put times in a universal formats.

They... did... but the cutoff time section was separate from the schedule section and the confusion was that the two times provided one was 10PM (Host Local) the other was 2AM (UTC). The hosts are just clarifying in the event it was confusing as to which day the *first* cutoff would take place. There was never any confusion about what time of day the cutoffs would take place because they were provided in UTC.

I sincerely apologize for the extremely late cutoff tonight. I understand it's inconvenient to all of you who strive to meet my original cutoff time almost 5 hours prior to this post, and that is something I intend to respect.

Tomorrow is an off day. The next cutoff is on Sunday, August 4th(EDT), 43 hours from this post. That cutoff will be on time. Thank you for your patience, and best of luck to all of you for the remainder of World Cup Qualifying

Hey, y'all. As has been very heavily alluded to for quite a while now, Qusmo is about to take a turn for the xenophobic ICly. As a second-generation immigrant, however, & in light of the white nationalist terrorist attack in El Paso, I'd like to re-emphasize that immigrants, people of colour, & other minorities & oppressed peoples are real people - with real lives, with real emotions, & with real rights. Xenophobia, racism, bigotry, & hatred in all its forms are nothing short of repugnant, & we should all reject it, even as too many countries - both in NS & RL - seem to be doing the opposite.

well said. As someone who lives just a few minutes away from where the Dayton shootings happened--and I spent 20+ years as a patron and an employee of a bar in that area, and I have a whole lot of people I'm friends with that I met through that period--it's important to keep what we are saying in RP vs. what we might actually believe in RL well defined.

Posted this on Discord, but my next RP in the Carter Redwin saga will take place approximately 25 IC minutes after tonight's, when Redwin gives (or attempts to give *wink wink nudge nudge*) his victory speech, and will dramatically shift things. So if you're planning to RP a response to him winning, and it's not something that IC-ly takes place in those 25 minutes, I suggest waiting. Otherwise your RP isn't going to make much sense. This is one of those very rare cases where IC time runs slower than OOC (no, the Dreamed Realm doesn't count), but fluid time so whatever.

Hey, y’all! I won’t have access to a computer for a few days, so I’ll miss a few matchdays’ worth of RPs. I’ll give a shout on Discord when I’m back. Until then, best of luck to everyone! As for minutiae: If results continue to go well, I’ll stick to a starting XI of the players numbered 1-11 on my roster for the time being. &, finally, I know EQS is very excited to hear that they won’t have to worry about any cutoff extension requests from me (for a while, of course), so: you’re welcome.

Also, could someone remind me when the deadline for Team of the Tournament submissions is? I have an RP in mind, but I’d like to know whether I’ll be able to have computer access to actually write it between now & then. Thanks in advance!
