... he can't prevent it and yet it won't happen. How does this make sense?

So, president Pelosi.
Republicans will never vote to convict. He could try to drop nuclear weapons on Chicago or Baltimore or assault or shoot a secret service agent and they would vote to acquit

If that house votes to impeach the senate has to hold a trial and conviction vote. If he doesn’t Mcconnell would be saying Republicans don’t respect the constitution whatsoever or free and fair elections and believe themselves above the law

Why do you think that Democrats can work with Trump, who wants to send people born in America back to the countries they originally came from, but they can't work with the Republicans in Congress?
Because thinking you can get enough Republican support in the Senate to pass something Trump opposes while he’s very popular with the base this close to an election is laughably naive.
Thinking thinking you can get enough support from Republicans in the Senate and the House to overcome a veto from Trump, is just plain absurd. And constantly attacking McConnell will certainly not lead to him derailing any efforts the Dems make in the Senate, no sir, he’s not all a vengeful snake. Forgiving and full of integrity, that’s the McConnell I know.

They have to hold a convicting vote, that seems pretty rigged huh?

So instead the thing to do this close to an election is kowtow, give in to Trump's demands and let him claim victory, lie on the ground so he can pose for photos standing over his kill.
You are not going to save anyone from Trump by giving him what he wants.Thinking thinking you can get enough support from Republicans in the Senate and the House to overcome a veto from Trump, is just plain absurd. Mitch McConnell wants to stay in power. Threaten that and he'll find it in his heart to compromise.

looking through your post history, in the days after the election you kept calling for the electoral collage to be faithless.
So which piece of the hypocrisy pie do you want?

Ah yes, compromise=kowtowing. That’s a healthy attitude for a democracy.
As for the second part of your post, your plan not only relies on Congressional Republicans turning on Trump, but also on McConnell. lol

I find your views on this subject incredibly naive. Trump has the Republicans by the crotch, it's either go with hik or get your ass a well-funded primary challenge endorsed by a president popular with Republicans. McConnell is up for re-election in a ruby red state he is 110% not going anywhere.
