This is why I suggest that Brexit supporters should give up on free trade agreements and support isolationist autarky instead.

Then you'll run out of Mars bars.

oh and it's also very interesting that a brexit-induced end of the UK is now being discussed regularly by media and politicians
ask moderation about reading serious moderation candidates TGs without telling them about it until afterwards and/or apparently refusing to confirm/deny the exact timeline of TG reading ~~~ i hope you never sent any of the recent mods or the ones that got really close anything personal!

signature edit: confirmation has been received. they will explicitly do it before and without asking. they can look at TGs basically whenever they want so please keep this in mind when nominating people for moderator or TGing good posters/anyone!

Lies and manipulation being discussed by the tow least trusted professions in the UK.....almost like they’re self serving manipulators. :o

Also, all the worry about how being outside the EU will destroy the UK, while most of it is fearmongering by a metropolitan elite who think they know best, there’s also a reason the UK has historically opposed a European continent spanning power, be it under Napoleon, Germany, Nazis or the Spanish. But successive governments have let Europe go down this path of ambiguous federalisation with all its back room dealing and opaque appointments to positions of power.

That would actually be an interesting idea for a change to rules regarding putting together a government. Make it so the cabinet must represent each region of the country equally. And if you have no MPs in, say, Scotland, then tough, you've got to appoint a member of a different party.

We fined Facebook £500,000 over the Cambridge Analytica data breach. The US fine them $5 billion. Though the recent fine for BA for a data breach is encouraging.

I wonder how much of a significant income generator for governments fining firms for data breaches will become.

Hopefully not one so significant that governments start creating rules so that they can fine people, and not so significant that it throttles new businesses.

I'm just a poor wayfaring stranger, traveling through this world below
There is no sickness, no toil, nor danger, in that bright land to which I go
I'm going there to see my Father, and all my loved ones who've gone on
I'm only going over Jordan, I'm only going over home

I know dark clouds will gather 'round me, I know my way is hard and steep
But beauteous fields arise before me, where God's redeemed, their vigils keep

I don't think £500,000 throttled Facebook particularly.

Well, defence for one. The reason America can field such an overwhelming military is because they have a large economy so the R&D for something expensive like a nuclear submarine is lower per unit since they have so many. Where the UK and France have to pay a larger amount of their relatively small defence budget for a smaller overall deterrent. If Europe was truly serious about being more independent from America, a good example would have been European subsidies for a joint British/French nuclear submarine fleet with a European nuclear umbrella allowing America to focus more on other threats.
