Called a "Salute to America," the events will pay tribute to each of the nation's five service branches with flyovers from military planes and a display of two 60-ton M1 Abrams tanks and two Bradley Fighting Vehicles. The celebration will conclude with a 35-minute fireworks display, the biggest the nation's capital has ever seen.
So what is your take on this? Is it a political stunt? A show of military might? An honor to America and its veterans? As the tanks are rolling in, some are scared as they are too tall to fit under overpasses. Remember, this is a patriotic show! But on the other hand... 100 flights were delayed, the Air Force has to work today, and the fireworks are being moved for Trump’s speech.

Between supporting violence against the news, demonizing certain minorities, literally being friends unironicallt with Kim jong un and using executive orders to try and bypass Congress and now this, it's clear this guy wants to be a dictator
Why can't we just celebrate a nonpartisan fourth of july?

Sure, taxpayers as a whole might be paying a few million, but divided by the number of taxpayers in the country, and the price per person is basically nonexistent. The show is going a bit above what any other president has done, and honestly the controversy its generated is so much more exaggerated than it should be, just because Trump's the one doing it. The Air Force might be a bit overkill, but the rest is just more than usual.

Pretty sure this is the first time this sort of thing has actually been done in the US. It all just feels a bit authoritarian dictatorship.

An improved economy, much lower unemployment, diplomacy with North Korea and getting members of NATO to pay their fair share doesn't feel like an authoritarian dictatorship to me. If you want to see Authoritarian dictatorship, move to China; but leave America alone.

China is a socialism. AOC should live there tbh. Actually most of the Democrats are good except Ilhan Omar, Bernie Sanders, and AOC. Obama and Biden were actually pretty good. At least Trump is a relief From Bush

A former Navy SEAL has some stronger words than that about this military parade.
