New Appointments to the Imperial Council

The Imperial Council has been relatively stable for months now, and it remains that way, but this month some shuffling was done to react to a resignation and optimize our performance. In the middle of the month, former Councillor of External Affairs Smith left the region and NationStates entirely, leaving a vacancy in the Council. Former Councillor of External Affairs and Prince of the First Rank Samsonyte was brought in to take his place. Vaeruio was appointed to be his Deputy with the intent to take over the post after being trained by Samsonyte. Earlier in the month, former Speaker of the Citizens' Assembly Eli Hesial was brought onto the Imperial Council as Deputy Councillor of Internal Affairs to assist Councillor Xemt in his duties. Grand Councillor Jake expects the executive to be even more efficient and effective than before with these changes.

New Speaker Elected

The February Speaker of the Citizen's Assembly Elections were held early this month. Incumbent Eli Hesial ran once again with less support this cycle. Eli ran with the promise to instate more oversight on the other branches of government, start a colony program, and make the Citizens' Assembly the primary legislative body of the Imperium. A newer citizen, Vaeruio, also known as Porguin, announced his candidacy as well and received endorsements and support from much of the citizenry. His platform was to form a Citizens' Militia and an intern program in the Citizens' Assembly. When the votes were tallied on February 7, Porguin was declared the winner. The Citizens' Assembly will keep working on new legislation under this new leadership.

Successful Military Operations

The Ragerian Armada has been active this month. There have been several small-scale tag raids, primarily to train new recruits. We were proud to promote Porguin, TheBowserBanana, and COTNC to the rank of Apprentice after they demonstrated bravery and skill in these raids. Additionally, on the 23rd of this month, the Armada supported The Black Hawks in their capture of Westphalia. Four sailors were on the front lines and the rest followed shortly after to secure the region. The Armada is on track to continue its successes into March and keep increasing the Imperiums presence around the globe.

This is a well-produced update and I commend the Government for their work on this.

As there are few days remaining until my reign as Emperor of the Ragerian Imperium hits one year, I would like to publicly praise all of those who, in the last year, have dedicated and devoted tremendous amounts of time, effort, and perseverance into making the region succeed. By most measures, we are doing better than ever, and I only look forward to what the next year will bring.

Sailor Promoted to Imperial War Command

Last week, the Fleet Admiral, Samsonyte, was extremely pleased to tack on another round of promotions to the long list already announced in his tenure, which has represented one of the Armada's most active periods recently. Numerous new Sailors have joined the ranks of the Armada, and many have been promoted following highly successful training runs. One of the Sailors especially responsible for this pleasing rise in activity was Captain Jake. Therefore, in line with a prior announcement by the Fleet Admiral, he rejoined the Imperial War Command at the rank of Vice-Admiral and will provide excellent leadership working with the Fleet Admiral and Emperor Vulturret.

Emperor Celebrates One Year

For all of us in The Ragerian Imperium, this March 13th was a very significant day. On this day, our Emperor, Vulturret, celebrated one year as Emperor of the Ragerian Imperium. His Imperial Majesty has been a highly critical part of the Imperium for a long time, serving in many different high level capacities and doing the Imperium proud. The Emperor has served the Imperium in a plethora of different ways as Emperor: from authoring the constitution of our region to commanding our most famed raids, His Imperial Majesty has shown a long record of outstanding dedication to The Ragerian Imperium.

His Imperial Majesty has authored numerous reforms that have bettered the Imperium and has always been a friendly face to newcomers, posting frequently on the Regional Message Board and engaging with the citizenry through memorable speeches and daily conversations. Speaking on this monumental occasion from the Palace, His Imperial Majesty expressed gratitude to all of those who have helped him throughout his reign, and he also looked forward to continuing to gracefully guide The Ragerian Imperium for years to come.

We all in the Ragerian Imperium would like to take this time to express our sincere gratitude towards all of our allies and partners throughout NationStates that have supported us and His Imperial Majesty throughout his reign. Thank you.

Forum Post Count Milestone

This month, the Imperium reached another monumental activity milestone when the six thousandth post on the new forum was made by the members. This is representative of the excellent work the Government and Imperial Council are doing to promote use of the Ragerian forums within the region. From legislative debates, to discussions, to spam games, to announcements and news, and reports from the numerous raids the Armada has been conducting in the recent months, the Imperium has been hard at work to ensure that its forums and Discord servers are active. Things don't seem to be slowing down soon, and we look forward to seeing more activity soon.

Impressive Nation Growth

The Ragerian Imperium has seen a delightfully rapid growth in the nation population of our region in 2019. The growth this year has been astounding. We have risen from 86 nations up to a high point of 144 and now stand at 141 nations, putting us back in the top-100 regions in the game when measured by population size. This is a very pleasing development as it has been a while since we were this high.

"The large jump in nation population is owing to the substantial efforts of the Imperial Council and Government led by the Grand Councillor Jake," said Emperor Vulturret. "The Crown commends and thanks the Government for their substantial effort on improving this number." The Emperor's comments represent the general feeling of the region; everyone is happy that there has been so much growth and that the population continues to trend upwards. This population milestone represents a broken record for the last eight months in both population and recruitment telegrams sent and we look forward to seeing it continue.

Greetings citizens of the Imperium,

This past month has been one of great successes. Our region as a whole has seen growth in unprecedented levels here in the Imperium. There are so many to talk about but I will focus on a few. The first of which is our integration of new nations onto our discord who have then become citizens. Many regions can attract nations to their region but most can not successfully get them more involved in their region. That is something we in the Imperiuim pride ourselves in. The second area is our nation count which has risen to 157 nations which is the highest it has been in a long time here in The Imperium. In addition this magnificent accomplishment put us in the top 100 regions on site. There are thousands of regions on the game. That puts us in the top 1% of regions in Nation States. This great honor could not have been possible without all the great work of our Internal Affairs Staff under Councillor of Internal Affairs Xemt's leadership. This great work of his sticks out especially during this time as he is balancing a new job with it.

There is one member of our Internal Affairs Staff whose work has really stood out. His dedication is the epitome of what we look for in any Civil Service Staff. He constantly welcomes new nations to the region. In addition to being an active member of our community on our discord server. Finally their work in our Internal Affairs Department on Manual Recruitment has completely shattered records of any prior citizens. We would like to commend New Aglore for his service in the Internal Affairs. In just two weeks New Aglore has already sent 2,600 recruitment telegrams to new nations and been directly responsible for several new nations that have joined the region. We here in the Imprial Council are extremely appreciative of your work and dedication to the region. With all this great work we are proud to announce that New Aglore will be joining us on the Imperial Council as our new Deputy Councillor of Internal Affairs. With all this great performance we know he is the right choice for this and look forward to what New Aglore and Xemt will accomplish together as they lead our Internal Affairs Department.

With this great addition of New Aglore I am also pleased to announce a new department will be added to our Imperial Council. This new department will be our Roleplay Department. They will be responsible for the roleplay that is being developed for the region and encouraging roleplay in our roleplay channel on discord. Our former Deputy Councillor of Internal Affairs Eli has been working tirelessly to create it and make this goal a reality. Considering his hard work he has done for it, I am pleased to announce that Eli has been promoted and will be our Councillor of Roleplay here in the Imperium! With the recent growth of citizens that are interested in roleplay, now seems the perfect time to focus on improving this area of our region. We look forward to the work Eli will do and seeing the citizens that show up to help Eli in this new department.

On a final note I would like commend our Armada on their great work this past month. There have been multiple excellent raids that have occurred, in addition to a great surge in enlistments from our sailors. If you are a citizen and have not enlisted yet I highly encourage you to. The Armada just might become your favorite activity here in the region. Our surge in size has been extremely prominent as we continue assisting our allies The Black Hawks on their current Occupation. These numbers of sailors deployed are excellent as we continue to prove ourselves as a valuable ally.

The Armada jumps through space on their path of destruction.

This minor, a few sailors in our armada deployed on an impromptu attack of several regions that gotten too close. With so many targets and so little time they were forced to use warp speed to hit them on time. They jumped from area of the galaxy to the next galaxy in no time at all impressing The Imperial War Command when the mission was complete and marked a success. Vice-Admiral [url= gave credit to one of your new developing leaders in the region Apprentice New Aglore on the success of the region. Without Apprentice New Aglore's assistance the mission wouldn't have turned out the way it did.

Tooapaka Honored by the Crown

Recently, the Imperium's long-serving World Assembly Delegate, Toopaka, passed one year serving in that position. This was monumental for the region, as Toopaka has always proved himself as a steady adviser and readily-equipped steward of in-game security. In a speech from his residence, His Imperial Majesty Emperor Vulturret honored Tooapaka for his monumental service with a new noble peerage as the Baron of Fola. We look forward to Toopaka continuing to serve us.

Grand Councillor Announces New Executive Department

Grand Councillor Jake was excited to announce the creation of the Roleplay Department in the Imperial Council this past month. With this addition, we will be able to offer further activities for our residents and citizens to partake in throughout the Imperium. With this creation, we are happy to announce that Eli Hesial will be filling the post of Councillor of Roleplay, effective immediately. Councillor Eli had already been working on the roleplay for the region while serving as Deputy Councillor of Internal Affairs, so it makes perfect sense for him to head this new initiative as we put a greater focus on the roleplay for the region.

New Deputy Councillor Appointed

As was mentioned in Grand Councillor Jake's speech earlier this month, with the new creation of the Roleplay Department, a new Deputy Councillor of Internal Affairs was needed.Throughout the search process, it was decided that New Aglore, a new citizen to the region that has already done great work on the Internal Affairs Staff, would be the best choice. His work has already included sending over 2,600 recruitment telegrams to help grow the Imperium. He seems to be a natural leader and will continue to progress here in the Imperium as he continues his great work in all areas he wishes. With New Aglore's and Xemt's combination in the Internal Affairs Department, the region is on track to stay on a steady path to even greater success.

New Chief Justiciar

Following some developments in the region, a new Chief Justicar was needed to be found. Aav had chosen to resign after an in-character decision he made that made him no longer fit for service as Chief Justiciar. Former Chief Justicar Aav admitted that his mistakes and wrongdoing left the office deserving someone better than him after what he did. Aav committed to moving forward in a better manner and suggested Crodnu as our new Chief Justicar. Crodnu then succeeded Aav as Chief Justiciar following nomination and confirmation. We look forward to Crodnu holding the judicial process and the rest of the government to higher standards.

Election Results

Once again this month we had elections for who would serve as our Citizens' Assembly Speaker. Porguin who was serving last term and did not seek re-election, so it was left open for other candidates to fight for the spot. Eli who has served numerous terms in this position immediately announced his campaign and plans to run after being defeated last term by Porguin. In a twist of events, nobody else announced their attention to run before the election started. Eli ended up winning with seven votes in favor for him with only one abstain cast. We look forward to see the upcoming developments in our legislature with Eli back as our Speaker.

The Armada's Incredible Resolve

These past few months the Armada has been hard at work continuing to further The Imperium's interest in the Nation States world. There have been several successful tag raids and effective training raids of new Sailors that have joined. In addition, it was The Imperial War Commands's Pleasure to promote Xemt to the rank of Captain as he joins the Senior Officer ranks in the Amada. Xemt has done great work and has always put the region first. We look forward to his continued activity and what he helps lead us with as a Senior Officer. In addition with The Black Hawks' operation in Westphalia wrapping up we are pleased to announce that we had a total of 16 sailors that were deployed there to assist them in their operation. We are proud of our sailors contribution there and happy to assist our allies The Black Hawks.

Full Steams Ahead for The Imperium

In a continuing fashion, the region has continued to have incredible growth as we are now in the top 85 regions by nations size. The previous update last month had us at 141 nations with a high of 144 nations. At the time of this writing we are currently at 167 nations with a high of 169 nations. We contribute this success in nation growth primarily to our Internal Affairs Department under Councillor Xemt's and Deputy Councillor New Aglore's work. We thank them for their hard work they have put in leading to this success. We also look forward to when we will pass 200 nations in our region. This is a sure sign that The Ragerian Imperium won't be slowing down any time soon.

Statement from the Government of the Ragerian Imperium

Effective immediately, the following individuals are blacklisted from the Ragerian Imperium:

Samsonyte
Sithis/KXhac
Vulturret

They are no longer welcome in our community, as their actions have brought disrepute to the name of the Imperium. Furthermore, the actions of Moneyness in other regions are not considered appropriate behaviors for anyone. The Imperium strongly condemns the actions of these individuals, and sincerely apologizes to the Black Hawks, and Balder, for concealing such an individual.

The Imperium furthermore condemns the actions taken by former Emperor Vulturret to conceal the identity of Moneyness, and the behavior associated with these actions.

Samsonyte and KXhac have been willing participants in this action, and as such, are further also blacklisted from the region permanently. The community of the Imperium strongly disapproves of the reasoning behind their concealment of this individual. There was no good reasoning for the protection, and concealment of Moneyness, yet they did it anyways.

I don't think the right decision was made making you Emperor. You were already caught earlier this year creating a fake discord message between yourself and another user. That led to you resigning as Chief Justicar. I feel Xemt or Toopaka would have made a better choice.

Controversy strikes! After the sudden abdication of Emperor Vulturret, the removal of the Prince of the First Rank, and Lord Protector, the newly appointed Lord Protector, Aav Verinhall was requested to take the throne by a council of regional members.

Aav Verinhall, now proclaimed as Emperor Aurelius I of the Ragerian Imperium had this to say upon coronation: "It is now my grave and solemn duty to protect and lead the Imperium during these trying times. It is unfortunate that my predecessor made such a poor choice in his decision to allow Moneyness into the region, but we must, and therefore shall, recover from his misstep. We thank Vulturret for his service to the region, and recognize that he must now leave us."

The Emperor appointed former Emperor Cognat D'hvaak I as Prince of the First Rank, saying that he would serve Rageria faithfully. Former Councilor of Internal Affairs Xemt has been elevated to the post of Grand Councilor, in addition to being appointed Lord Protector of the Ragerian Imperium.

Multiple other positions were appointed by Emperor Aurelius yesterday as well, to replace members who were removed from the region.

Major Governmental Changes

Recently, it was found that former Emperor Vulturret was harboring a banned player, specifically Moneyness, who is banned from the vast majority of regions in the game. Moneyness was going by the name of Jake the Snake and was given a high ranking position in the Government and Armada. After this was uncovered, Vulturret was forced to abdicate. Among other officials forced out were Samsonyte (Prince of the First Rank), and Sithis (Lord Protector.) Upon the abdication of Vulturret, Aav Verinhall was proclaimed Emperor Aurelius I of the Ragerian Imperium. Various other changes were made, however, specific changes of note would be the appointment of Madeline Norfolk-Stuart as Princess of the First Rank, and Xemt (Jutomi) as Grand Councilor of the Ragerian Imperium and Lord Protector.

Vaeruio & New Aglore Honored by the Crown


Two distinguished members of the region, both somewhat new, were honored by Emperor Aurelius in a speech entitled "A New Era." New Aglore was appointed as Baron of the Amir, and Vaeruio was honored with the Medal of Foreign Service. Both recipients have served the region well and honorably, and we expect lots more from them in the future. Give it up for New Aglore and Vaeruio!

New Chief Justiciar

Emperor Aurelius appointed a new Chief Justiciar to round out the reforms, but this person had seen service in the Imperium before. Aurelius was pleased to welcome Caesar back to the region, and as a member of the Judiciary. Already proving his worth, issuing excellent legal opinions in two recent Judicial Reviews. Caesar replaced former Chief Justiciar Crodnu, who had replaced Aav Verinhall when he stepped down from the bench. The Emperor was pleased to be able to welcome this excellent member of the region back.

Speech from the Emperor, and Further Background Information

On the night of May 13th, 2019, Emperor Aurelius I changed the direction of the Imperium through unbanning and inviting two former citizens, Madeline and Caesar, back to the region. Madeline served as the Grand Councillor a year ago until her removal on September 21st, 2018. Caesar served as Chief Justiciar from July of 2018 until his removal in November of 2018.



On November 7th, 2018 Madeline and Caesar were banned from the Imperium after former Emperor Vulturret and company claimed her actions, along with Caesar's, were acts of treason against the region. Since their banishment, Madeline became Madeline Norfolk-Stuart and Caesar became Alistair McIntyre and later Alistair Stuart.


Following the revelations of Vulturret, Jake/Moneyness, Samsonyte, and Sithis, changes needed to be made in order for the region to not only continue on, but also ensuring the community is able to be successful, which included the return of Caesar and Madeline.


Alistair Stuart was appointed as the new Chief Justiciar of the Imperium, replacing Crodnu.



Madeline Norfolk was appointed as Princess of the First Rank, replacing Tawks/Scott.



From an announcement made by Emperor Aurelius I titled "A New Era", he states the following:

Greetings, Citizens of the Imperium. Many of you have seen the recent events. Some of you may have not, and therefore may be confused by why I am now Emperor, and you may be asking where Vulturret is. Vulturret is gone, and I am now Emperor. I would like to touch on this moment by saying that it is a sad time for the Imperium, but we must carry on. Therefore, I am pleased to announce our first Princess, Madeline. She has served the region faithfully in the past, and I am confident that she will do an excellent job as Princess of the First Rank now. I should make it quite clear that the recent changes are not done out of any spite, or disregard, but simply in the interests of what is best for the region. I thank Crodnu for his service as Chief Justiciar of the Imperium, and hope that he continues the excellent work as an associate Justiciar.

I have a few words to say to Xemt. I thank you so much for your unwavering loyalty to the Imperium, and your dedicated service. I find it greatly reassuring to find a familiar presence in the government, and helping to guide the region through these treacherous times. The likelyhood that the Imperium would be what it is today without you is low, bordering on negligible. We value your service greatly. This is why I decided to create you as Lord Protector of the Ragerian Imperium. You have my utmost confidence in being able to keep this region together.

I'm going to end this speech by honoring a few individuals who's contributions to the Imperium over the last several days, or perhaps weeks or months, deserve recognition.

Statement from the Ragerian Imperium Administrative Team on the Enadian Union

After the recent allegations brought to light in the Enadian Union embassy thread, we have come to the decision to blacklist the Enadian Union. This was not a decision that we have reached lightly, nor should it be. The display of homophobia, and the general "So who cares" attitude that was shown by members of the region has not allowed us any belief that there is not a general attitude of intolerance for all to see.
These factors combined make it the solemn duty of the Administrative Team to issue a permanant blacklist of the Enadian Union on these grounds. The blacklist shall be threefold:
1) Any citizen of the Enadian Union may not have a Discord Account in the Ragerian Imperium.
2) Any citizen of the Enadian Union may not hold a Forum Account in the Ragerian Imperium.
3) Any prospective citizen of the Ragerian Imperium may not be a current member of the Enadian Union.

This was not a decision that we have reached lightly, nor should it be. The display of homophobia, and the general "So who cares" attitude that was shown by members of the region has not allowed us any belief that there is not a general attitude of intolerance for all to see.

I haven’t exactly read much GP for a while, but I didn’t expect Zenaida of all places getting Blacklisted

You missed Blood Wine of Gay going on a rampage and name calling Latrovia for not immediately taking his side before hearing all sides cause innocent until proven guilty doesn't exist anymore apparently. And now this publicity stunt most likely related to recent events involving Blood Wine, Gvh, and myself. My hands are clean, it's best to steer clear of drama from my experience.

So to ask what were these "displays of homophobia" that you claim. Did anyone show fear of our homosexual brethren, Did anyone exhibit a dislike or hatred of these people. You see Raegerian sometimes we get the meaning of words confused and often times only see what fits to one's agenda. Life is a doubled edged sword. I'm gay myself and I certainly can't expect everyone to bend to my will and absolutely adore me. I know I have to understand that there are other people than just myself out there. I'm not about to go spread hatred and bigotry over someone not having the same opinion as myself. I can respect that someone would like to hear all sides to a story before jumping to immediate conclusions and taking the side that would boost a personal image versus the side that shines the truth. But to each their own as everyone has a right their opinion and way of thought. My life as a gay married man does not outweigh the life of a straight married man. If I believed such propaganda then I'd be in constant thought that everyone was out to get me and that my life was somehow more valued, just because of my orientational status.

Your post was perfectly acceptable anger toward in-game behavior right up until this. You can express anger at a region's alleged corruption and call out someone's in-game conduct without going into a flaming tirade attacking the player. Under no circumstances is it at all acceptable to call another player a "coward", or a "bastard", or a "useless shit." Please review the site rules immediately. For those of you who are now just joining us, you can see a prime example of the ex-speaker's behavior in the region, to fellow regionmates. The unfortunate tirade that he has launched here is just a microcosm of the year-long behavior shown by the former speaker. He proclaimed himself the asshole of the region, and said that we should normalize his behavior as consistent assholery, going as so far as to change his Discord nickname to "Speaker Asshole."

As to the allegations leveled at me by the former speaker, I can address every single one of them.

I resigned from the Senate of the Imperium while facing impeachment on charges of offending Mr. Hesial by by-passing the Citizens' Assembly by using the constitutionally granted powers of the Senate, instead of going through the Citizens' Assembly where there was an admittedly hostile reception to my bill, I will not disagree on that. However, the legality of my actions was never in doubt. In short, this was a trumped-up charge brought by who? Mr. Hesial.

Onto the next. My former status as Chief Justiciar of the Ragerian Imperium. I resigned after I failed at an attempt to get Vult to remove Moneyness from his position as Grand Councilor. Moneyness as revenge forced me out.

This ban was never targeted at him in revenge. The sad delusion that Mr. Hesial holds as to that fact is merely a hope by him to remain relevant in this discussion, and an attempt to garner sympathy to his cause, be it revolution or some other.

The fact that Mr. Hesial compares me to Vulturret, who through his actions doomed himself, Samsonyte, and Sithis, is laughable. My actions have never been in question, legally speaking, and have never included hiding a universally banned player, so I'm amazed that the former Speaker thinks that my banning of him rises to that level.

Ultimately, whatever shade the former speaker throws at me, I am more than willing to stand, accept, and answer questions about. The sad fact of all of this is that Mr. Hesial is entirely focused on personal aggrandizement, and is attempting to drum up sympathy for himself, rather than accepting the fact that he was banned for exactly this sort of behavior. Whilst an individual is permitted to feel rage, anger, or frustration if they are banned, executing the same form of behavior that they had been removed from the region because of is merely reinforcement to the reasoning behind the ban. A man who does not hide his worst and embraces it is one I will follow. Yet you always hide everything. Also, it was not I who did the impeachment against you, but it was the man I knew as Jake. After, of course, I spoke with many people on the actions. I have always been unbiased towards everyone, hating all equally unless they do what I want when I want. At that point, I HATE THEM MORE. I never said that you were on the level of Vult no, that insults a great Emperor. No, I stated you were worst. You did not deny you changing the Constitution illegally, as under there, I forget which articles off the top of my head, it states it needs 50+1% for the CA, 2/3 for the CA, AND Imperial Consent. Which you skipped two steps, stripping the rights of the Prince of the First Rank or in this case Princess, and allowed a man who was Emperor before, and failed. Vult, in my eyes, and in the eyes of true citizens, is the true Emperor of the region, against the coup I stand against. As such, the only man who could be Emperor after him, safe for his Prince of the First Rank, would be in my eyes, and without his approval, Xemt, the man who does not wish for power.
