Character Application
Character Name: Zamira is not her actual name but a contraction of, "Za'yresse'myr'alaroion," which is understandably hard to pronounce. Even then that is just a casual first name and not the full length which is quoted by herself to be approximately three hundred and sixty-eight characters long. As it is her True Name and would accord the one who knows it much power over her to comply with their wishes.
Gender: Female, however technically genderless.
Race: Daimon (often called Daemon, Demon, etc) but that is a name the people of Numina have given them and entirely a misnomer. What Zamira's race calls themselves is simply, 'The Visitors,' or, 'The Others.'
Appearance: Zamira like all the members of her race have a true form that is incorporeal and incomprehensible to the species of Numina to view without going insane or as one helpless mage found out, eyes and brain combusting from sheer electron overload. Even those who gaze at them peripherally are known to feel extremes of emotion and desire. Luckily, without magical know-how this true form is invisible and rendered by the Numinan mind as something simple or abstract. Such as a floating ball of light or a noxious gas. Whatever it may be it is truly incorporeal in their inability to interact with their environment beyond telepathic communication. As such, the Daimon cleverly force their essence to manifest physically into a form (often mimicking a race down to the cellular level) or via possession. Yet, the latter is described as disgusting and unpleasant nor are they capable of it on their own unless the individual is dead (so a corpse) or forced via magic.

Personality: Zamira can be described best as sarcastic, playful, and prone to observational commentary bearing a total lack of social filters or correctness. Yet, she is entirely capable of the full spectrum of emotion as understood by the races native to Numina and thus could develop meaningful friendships or bonds with individuals. Curiously, the Daimon have a penchant for taking deals and promises literally and as such only make them by necessity. Why they have this compulsion to follow through with them is unknown to the Mages that have managed to summon them too Numina and their own self description cryptically references some weird alien understanding of ethics.
Age: Her actual age is unknown, as time is just a concept to her, but she always prefers to manifest as a young female.
Occupation: None
Likes: Puzzles, socializing, parties, and learning more about a person.
Dislikes Antisocial behavior, machines, and breaking promises/deals
Skills: Her skills are surprisingly minimal, often relying on magic to do things, as even cooking is a 'foreign' concept to her. Either she doesn't need to eat or the food on Numina is not becoming to her utterly alien physiology. What is known is that she describes being out in Sunlight as reinvigorating. As such some Mages would ascertain that her race may garner nutrition from a photosynthesis biological system. This is not to misconstrue her ability to eat and she does possess the abilities to digest food or taste it.

Mental and Transmutation. Forces, Fire, and Morph as advanced knowledge. With water, nature, and phantasm being basic knowledge.

Bio Zamira was born in a place she would describe as, "Another Place," removed from Numina by space and time. A world she describes as totally lacking in machinery as known by the Numinan understanding of that word. Further, she would elaborate it on being the polar opposite to Numina in just about everything possible and that simply being there is anathema for one. In essence to be in, "The Other Place," for any considerable length of time would yield the individual unraveling by the energies permeating that realm/world/dimension. Zamira would first enter Numinan records well into the past before the dark times. Appearing by name in old dusty half destroyed tomes on forgotten bookshelves. Her description in those tomes would erroneously refer to her as a Demon, Infernal being, etc. Misnomer's she renounces with much chagrin.

However, more recently, her kind has been summoned; albeit rarely; by modern Mages and given the name Daimon. Another misnomer which her kind finds both hilarious or annoying depending on whom you ask. As Zamira would call her kind, 'Visitors.' No doubt a reference to her kind being from, you guessed it, 'Another Place.'

The first modern mage that would summon her would be Auguszt Pennyworth of Lumina approximately forty-five years ago. Pennyworth, thinking her a Demon, went about the usual precautions of binding spells, pentagrammic wards, the whole nine yards. Even going so far to make sure every syllable of her first name was pronounced properly. However, her first name wasn't her true name and thus was flabbergasted by her simply passing through the wards and seeming to ignore the binding spells. Naturally, Pennyworth freaked out and managed to banish her back to wherever she came from.

The second mage would be a woman by the name of Ermeline Lily and the two successfully bonded. But much to Ermeline's frustration their bonding was not the Master-Slave complex and one of equals with Zamira stating that the bond was mutual and that Ermeline could not force her to do anything. Only that her powers or ability to intervene in developing situations was limited to Ermeline's approval as she was just a, 'Visitor.' After about six months the frustrated Ermeline dismissed Zamira in favor of trying to summon a familiar that would sate her every want.

The third person that would summon her, purely by accident, was a young factory worker named Rencelier Strange. A young man that grew up an orphan on the streets of Lumina before finding work in a machinist factory. But a love for books despite having no true magical ability or skill. Even his reading was subpar and had to speak the words while tracing a finger to keep place on the page. As such, he summoned her by speaking her first name and was astoundingly shocked to have her appear before him in his bedroom. Awkward was not going to cut it as the shock undid any control Rencelier had over his bladder at the time.

Born 28 years ago, Nathan lived a good life, he was taught good morals and how to be a good person by his mother and how to be a good brother by his father as when Nathan turned five, his mother Christina gave birth to his Brother Eric. he was ten when she was shot and killed by a junkie, this lead Nathan into a dark phase for him and his father and Eric until Nathan was about 12. during that dark phase, Nathan saw Vim as a saving grace for the world, this lead to Nathan supporting the imperialism ushered in by Vim. by 15, he had gotten a hang of the role of an Entrepreneur, thanks to his dad, who had become the owner of a small company, but this would be the period where Nathan gained his love of books, while he didn't mind them for the majority of his life, his father's distribution company led to the purchase of many books by Nathan many which inspired his fascination with the secrets and limits of Vim and more impotently Computers. when he was 16 his father would purchase a mechanical computer, which would give Nathan his fascination with technology. after this he would set his sight on one of the better Schools for Technology. when he was 17 his father would take him hunting for the first time granting him his first experience with using a gun, when he was 18 he headed of the Lumina institute of Vim, where he would grow his fascination of computers and engineering into a handy skill and knowledge. there he would meet Arthur Hargrave and the two would become great Friends. the two would start a business together after college in Lumina, the business would only last until the two were 23, when a competitor would undercut them so hard, it cause a downward spiral of financial losses. by the end they would have to closes doors, only making a net profit of a couple thousand from the business. they would take random jobs for a while until they met Julie Daniels. she would offer the two a job at her business, which was last them until Nathan was 25, when the Julie's business would be bought by a larger corporation, and they would be laid off along with dozens of more people. they would then return to Lumina upon hearing Eric had acquired his father's company after Richard retired. Nathan would be given a small fortune as a gift from his brother and would open a bookstore and along with his friends start a Secret Society called the Order of Manchester. it has been three years since then and everything has been quite peaceful for the three.

Description of Group: The order was founded by Nathan Blake and his friends after they got to Lumina, they wanted to do something grand and saw Vim as something they could do, Nathan wanted to do something great, during this time he built his Vim gun, Arthur wishing to do something grand as well joined what was they called the pack of grander, something they thought would never evolve into a secret society, only a friendly running joke. over the years, this desire became something greater, so after buying the bookstore, Nathan and Arthur built the pact into something more, a Secret society.

After a While, they decided to let Julie into the Order, to prepare for the occasion, they dug into the floor a arcane symbol that Nathan saw in a book once. they filled this symbol's groves with Vim. when Julie arrived they lit the Vim on fire, and then asked her to pledge subordination to the Dominus of this Temple of the Order of Manchester. once she did, they reveled themselves.

Bio Malenkov is that seedy-looking lowlife that roams the nightlife of Vim; indistinguishable from all the other saddos. And there're a lot of saddos in Vim (although, to be fair, the only difference between a saddo and a non-saddo in that place is how much money's in your wallet). It beats living in one of those shit-hole countries though - in fact, he'd left his homeland precisely because the streets provided living conditions that would make the uncivilised kings and queens jelly. Despite his stunning looks, and his state of poverty, Malenkov is an optimistic gnome. Maybe he's autistic or something, collecting and cataloguing other people's fingernails is an activity that is his world entire. Being a weirdo like that, he also peddles out his services as a bodyguard and a hitman. In a business that's teeming with assholes like him, he doesn't really stand out. Except he's quite large for a gnome - just reaching 70cm in height - and is the only one that also does autographs. Asides from being a foreigner, not much else is known about this enigmatic figure. Just the type that the big wigs in Vim want to hire (via proxy, duh). Expendable, effective and somewhat entertaining.

Born 28 years ago, Nathan lived a good life, he was taught good morals by his parents, when he was 4, his mother Christina took him to the kinotropes, there they watched The Shadow Baron. the story of a baron who rose to great heights by mastering court intrigue, it is unknown if the movie was based on a real person or is based on a book, to Nathan, but this may have been his first experience with the technology due to the screen being a kinotrope, it truly was a marvel of technology. ever since then when he has gone to the movies, he's been fascinated by the intricacies of the machine, this movie was also the his favorite moment with his mother. when he was 5, his mother would give birth to a baby boy, whom they would name Eric. Eric would be a sickly child and would take up most of his parents Richard and Christina Blake's attention. this would cause Nathan love for Eric, which was displayed a whole lot when he was 5, to sour and turn Eric into the person who would take the brunt of Nathan's frustration. this would last until Nathan turned 7 and Eric 2, around this time the amount of illness, Eric would get reduced greatly which would even out the attention given to Nathan and Eric.

Around the Age of 8, Nathan's father, Richard came into a great deal of money from an investment a few years back gone right. this allowed him to enroll his sons into The Lumina Academy. while Nathan needed to catch up a fair bit, by the end of the year, Nathan was Excelling in Mathematics and Science. this surprised his parents and was key in forming Nathan's focus on engineering, the one class that Nathan excelled in but didn't surprise his parents and that was English, which Nathan always did well in, this would inspire his love of reading. Eric would at the age of 5, attend the Academy after being in preschool there for a year. Eric would excel in mathematics over the coming years

at the age of 10, Christina would be murdered in a robbery gone wrong. she was heading back into a restaurant to tip to waiter, when a young man around the age of 24, needed money for his cocaine addiction. he walked in the store and pulled out his revolver and killed 2 waitresses and 3 civilians, one of them being Nathan's mother. this would send everyone in the Blake family into a dark spell for a long while. Richard would throw himself into his work forming a Distribution Company, Eric would become interested in his father's work and begin to excel in math due to it. Nathan would try to just make it through day by day. it would be nearly two years before this dark spell would be lifted.

When Nathan turned 12, he would begin reading books again, during this time he would pay attention to the politics of Lumina and see the imperialism in the world, he also began to admire what Vim had done for the world. his father would finally found his company, and would 'employ' Nathan to help him with it. over the period of 3 years, Nathan would gain the hang of being an Entrepreneur, but he wouldn't excel at it due to the fact that over the dark spell his grades in Mathematics would suffer. his Brother would due to his excellence in Mathematics, would excel at being a businessman. by this time when Nathan was 15, would purchase many books on the Arcane and Vim, this would grow his desire to discover the secrets and limits of Vim. at the age of 16, his father would buy a mechanical computer, which would only strengthen Nathan love on Technology and Engineering.

At 17,He and his brother would go hunting, using skills taught to him by his father after his mother's death, Nathan would do great at this and he would teach Eric the skills as well, as he was too young to be taught how to handle a gun at the time. during this period Nathan would apply to go to the Lumina Institute of Vim. here he would meet his future best friend Arthur Hargrave. Arthur would inspire in Nathan to do something great, and the two began to hang out more and more, after hitting on several girls one night at a local bar, Nathan would sit down, giving up on this endeavor, he would meet Julie, a 5'9'' brunette with a flirty and humorous personality. they would part ways but would remain friends.

after graduating at 22, the three would travel around 'adventuring' as Arthur Hargrave would say. during these years, Nathan would build his Vim gun, and study Vim and a plethora of books on Vim and the Arcane itself. during these years Nathan began to feel a slight attraction to Julie, but he would be able to get the guts to tell her. When he was 25, his father would retire and Eric would take over the company. because of this, he would return to Lumina and be given a small fortune as a gift from his brother. using this he would start Manchester Books named after his favorite Teacher at Lumina Institute. his friends would return from their adventures in time for Nathan's 26th birthday, together they would agree to form a secret society. it has been two year since and everything has been peaceful, with Eric's company expanding greatly and Nathan infatuation with Julie, one that died out when he left, would return stronger than every

I know this is still a wip but movie projectors in Vim right now are machines called Kinotropes.

The kinotrope is a large panel of little cubes with different colors on each facet, that can be mechanically spun to orient a specific color forward, making them physical pixels in a giant display.

The pixels are spun by steam powered crank machinery which is driven by an analytical engine (a mechanical, clock work, computer used for calculation and predicting trends The engines are not solely used to drive kinotropes, it is just one of their uses).

The Analytical Engine reads a stack of punch cards in automated succession to map which pixels to spin at which time. As the cards are run through it, the pixels spin along in time.

As for camphorated cellulos they are known to use as celluloids.
