The charge will be worse if its done on a woman compared to a man. Little girl gets abducted gets more coverage than a boy who got abducted. Heck most people have no idea how many little boys got raped in history but only know about the girls hence there is no gender equality. Many boys in Iraq are being raped by ISIS members yet we hear about the girls because people care about girls more duh.
Yes well, the societal idea that women need to be protected is what results in that skew of coverage, much as it results in the idea that men can make decisions for them thus abortion, or that women are sluts whereas men are studs for the same reason.
No one really wins from gender inequality.
