Do you suggest I take my seat in the Council or hedge my bets on being elected regional leader of Sub-Saharan Africa?

Character Name: Yang Hai Wen
Country or region of the world (real) that this character comes from: Guangzhou, China (Currently living in Beijing)
Character Ideology: Valkism, with East Asian characteristics.” In short, he is very much a member of the now empowered Kuomintang/Old Guard, such as Sun Yat-sen’s Three Principles of the People, Georgism, though is “pragmatic” between Corporatismt and Syndicalist. He is more a judge of character rather than political stances, and vows to rule “through policies, rather than parties”. Therefore, it would not be surprising that he may criticize the Deltaists for fostering a welfare state and the Southpaws for being unintentional Stalinists, before subtly incorporating ideas/party members who are competent. In fact, it is rumored that he uses funds for various amounts of intrigue, donating to politicians/policies that favor East Asia (and by extension, his rule), though nothing of political violence. An additional source of income, or political favor in East Asia could be a godsend for a struggling politician/party.

It is rumored, but not confirmed, that he at one point was interested in the Liberators of East Asia, and for his lenient attitude on terrorists and sectarian violence. While many promise “fire and fury” and react to violence, Yang-hai prefers negotiating and governmental reform, advocating for autonomy and criticizing the old Internationale for “blatant imperialism”, especially during “l’avance Est”.
Background of former experience: Character was initially a member of the Shanghai Police Department during the Millennial Protests, before becoming elected for Congress, and under Xi Jinping’s cabinet as Minister of Housing and Urban-Rural Development. He is also the current acting Chairman of the Chinese Valkist Party. Currently, he sees the rise of Deltaists, Republicans, and Christian Unity Caucus and sees the best way to maintain power and votes is to form a coalition with the various parties.
He doesn’t have a tremendous amount of ambition, seeing the Valkist Party is fading in influence across the planet, and the rise of “supranational” parties (as opposed to regional/local political parties/philosophies), and believes maintaining influence in the most populous region on the planet would be most beneficial politically speaking. He doesn’t appear to be prejudiced as far as partisan politics goes (save for anarcho-syndicalism. He has no issue with syndicalism but the anarchism brings back bad memories of the early 1900s when China was divided into a multitude of squabbling warlords), and can make for a powerful local ally.
Images of character(not necessary, but only if you’re bothered to): This man is here to yeet on Xi Jinping and dab on commies. And he’s fresh out of commies.

I like the really detailed application and character! Accepted, but remind me to add you to roster later because I’m on mobile right now so it would be difficult

One last thing: What are the popular vote percentages for each party? It would be really interesting to know the disparity.

Overall prediction: It's been a bad election for us. Not suprising since we entered about halfway.

Quite a mixed bag huh?

Just a request, since this is the OOC thread, imo, coalition talks should be transparent, since acting as if you have IC knowledge of it would be metagaming. Just my opinion though

This causes heavy amounts of sadness.

Time to re-punt or just run on a minority party ticket.

It's fine. Due to Kuomintang being largely Social Democrats (along with much of the non-wholly communist parties of China/the rest of Asia being largely Social Democratic flavor), I could be Deltaist... but perhaps act like Valkism was one of the myriad of political movements that are coming out of left field in this election, concerned about building tall rather being Mr. Worldwide.

As such, Yang will be an influential local politician (of a region with over a billion people, and in charge of making sure every one of them have running water, electricity, and the trains run on time). Keep an eye on him...

In parliamentary politics, the majority opposition bloc’s leader becomes leader of the opposition, the rest are just considered leader of their parties, hence why in Canada, Scheer is leader of the opposition while Singh is simply “Leader of the NDP”

I mean, an action such as that would be acceptable if I was a mainstream party, would it not? Just look at America from 1960-1980. Carter comes in, becomes friends with Soviets, people get angry, they elect Reagan, who literally topples the last 40 years of centre-left economics. We are alienated from the mainstream, even in our docile form, so we begin to strike out. I just need to maximise my amount of seats now.

I was assuming something like the Australian system where parties unaffiliated with the main opposition sit as crossbenchers.

Either way, the main opposition is GOP-CUC (and maybe Valkist now…), so the “leader of the opposition” is the leader of the main opposition, while leader of the WILR will be that, leader of the WLIR

Militant doesn't necessarily mean violent. It just means more disruptive or more confrontational. More uppity, I guess. It just means we're going to ramp up our level of militancy. Look, just search the word up on google.
