As the sun continued to peek ever more curiously over the mountain peaks, there was a knock on the exterior wall of the room of Her Majesty Thyra I.
A modestly dressed but well-kept woman of a mature age entered the room, courtseying at the end of the bed, before opening the curtains of the Empress' room; allowing the light of the rising sun to fill the finely decorated room of the young Empress.
"Your Majesty, I must beg that you excuse me for this disturbance but I'm afraid that it's time for you to rise. I'm not sure if you remember but many of your guests will be arriving today... in-case you haven't forgotten." Naturally, the servant said this quite timidly for disturbing one of the most powerful people in the world is not something someone with a functioning brain would do lightly.
The Empress climbed out of bed and began ushered more servants in to help her dress, "Not to worry my dear, you've served my family for as long as I can remember, I know you wouldn't disturb me without good reason."
The blue sky above the city remained clear and, although the sun shone strong and bright as ever, the cool breeze from the lakes kept the palace cool and well ventilated; it seemed even the gods wished to help the Empress in being a good Hostess.
After almost an hour in her room, the Empress stepped out, her pale skin shining in the sun and her make-up making her pale blue eyes stand out even more, dressed in a green saree decorated with gold thread embroidery. Her jet black hair styled in a more laid-back than usual manner with it being tied into a bun behind her head, covered with a veil, but held in place by bobbles made of silver and pearls.
She held herself in a stern and confident manner, turning to her aides and commanding, "get the others up and dressed, we must all look the part for our guests."
"Of course, your highness!" The Servants courtsey before rushing to complete their tasks.
