Parents Birth Tax Credits

Recent legislation has severely improved life for new parents, if you live in New Udonia. According the the New Udonia Department of Legislation's summary on the legislation, all new parents will see significant improvements to the quality of family life.

In order to foster human growth and development, all new parents will be granted tax credits upon the birth of their first child and receive a permanent bonus significant reduction on their future taxes. This reduction shall be 5% of their respective income tax until their death. This bonus shall be granted to those who act as the guardian of the child, thereby the bonus will not be granted to the counterpart in the situation of single-parentship. The bonus will not be granted in the situation that the mother and the father give the child up for adoption.

Duilio Independence Referendum to Proceed

Breaking news. The Duilio independence referendum has been authorized to proceed.

Obviously, there are multiple trains of thought on this development.

Sources alongside the Katashi-Socorran border have reported mass military movement toward the border. Cross-border communication remains silent, although the Department of Armed Forces is allegedly attempting to contact Katashi authorities for the motivation of this movement. Katashi-Socorran conflicts have remained at an all-time low near the border of Katashi, in recent years, which makes this recent development all the more disturbing.

Intelligence reports claim that Katashi doesn't have access to any long-scale ballistic measures. So if there was an incident, the majority of Socorrans are safely out of harm's way. Of course, there are settlements alongside the border and within the Duilio sub-district and its neighboring sub-districts which could theoretically be endangered if there was a war.

Duilio, Independent!

The transference of power and logistics has been completed. It has been a week since the results of the referendum spread across the Federation. This has been carried out by a unique tactical partnering between the Department of State and the Department of Records. We have exclusive quotes from both secretaries.

First, I would like to thank the Duilio Separatist Party for their planning of such an independent state, months before the referendum. Such foresight has allowed us to avoid embarrassment setbacks and potential civil unrest. Duilio will retain the sub-region of Duilio, however the southern border will be retained by the Federation until negotiations can be completed. Duilio X Katashi? Allies or Frenenemies?

The rumors are true. Duilio has signed a treaty with Katashi. The question is, why?

It may be too early to analyze, however Premier Segreti was only too happy to address our request for comment.

Both Duilio and Katashi have a common goal. Placing society's needs above the needs of the elite. This treaty, dictating strictly simple straight borders is just logical. The Federation has no business dictating to us how we take care of our people. NUAF Demobilizing

Members of the New Udonian Civil Defense and Army are rapidly traveling toward the Duilio/Federation border. As photographed, a detachment of Socorran Civil Guard is making the long trip across land. The Army is utilizing the Air Force's 3rd Airlift Squadron and the Air Force Reserve's 4th Airlift Squadron to swiftly extract all personnel, vehicles, and equipment.

Duilio citizens have observed small re-deployments to the Shanti border. We do not have information on whether this will change the outcome of the demobilization treaty.

Current reports claim that the New Udonian Armed Forces Navy's 3rd Command Formation and the Navy Reserve's 4th Command Formation have been deployed. All information related to the purpose of such deployment is currently highly restricted and therefore can not be verified.

Meet New Udonia's New Neighbor: New Shanti

Lots of stuff has happened over the past months, so let's not delay. The People's Republic of Duilio declared independence in a record-breaking referendum, which New Udonia respected the results of. Duilio allied itself with the Socialist Republic of Katashi and shifted borders in order to give Katashi the entire southern side of the Duilio peninsula. This meant that Duilio supported Katashi's annexation of Shanti, the peaceful anarcho-demarchy on the southeastern corner of the contested peninsula.

New Udonia's Armed Forces mobilized in order to facilitate the mass migration of the Shanti to the Socorran border, an unprecedented logistical undertaking. The Baron of Neta offered the Shanti people refuge on a large formerly uninhabited island (it only held the Baron's estate) under the jurisdiction of Neta. The Shanti people, those willing to travel, have completed their journey and currently reside in New Shanti, the newest sovereign nation to appear in the hemisphere.

While Shanti didn't have an effective legal system, as it was an anarcho-demarchy, New Shanti has been established as a voluntaryist-community meaning that residents are legally bound to abide by the legislation. Anyone wishing to become a member of New Shanti has to sign a social contract, which details their rights and requirements from living in New Shanti.

The Guru of Shanti retired from his de facto position as the leader of the Shanti people. We secured a quote from him, as detailed below.

Shanti Annexed by Katashi

The Socialist Republic of Katashi patiently waited for the last New Udonian forces to exit its planned borders before pushing forward to claim its reward. A few Shanti remained behind, hoping that Katashi would allow them to keep their way of life. New Udonia had cleared an airfield and left behind a single transport plane with enough room in-case every remaining Shanti wished to back out. The Katashi refused to recognize Shanti's independence and claimed that they were all now citizens of Katashi.

About half of the remaining Shanti now decided to leave for New Shanti. New Udonia had communicated clear instructions to Katashi that if any Shanti individual wished to leave, Katashi must escort them to the edge of the airfield. Katashi complied, knowing well in full that New Udonia could have stopped their annexation if they wanted to, although both sides would suffer heavy casualties. Not a single person was reported to have died, although several injuries were reported due to melee clashes between overeager Katashi and New Udonian forces.

New Duilio?

The People's Republic of Duilio has reportedly changed its national colors. While before their grey and crimson flag carried the emblem of a rose of socialism and a wreath, it has now been replaced with the fist of socialism and a wreath. Some of New Udonia's youth has begun the hashtag #EdgyDuilio, but it seems that Duilio's populace has taken offense, which has ignited social media drama. Duilio, you promised to give equally to everyone, so thank you for giving us all laughter.

Rest In Peace El Presidente

The Socorran leader is dead. While returning from a trip to Duilio her flight was downed by Socorran Liberation Forces. One individual miraculously survived, although her name is being withheld on the order of the Department of Homeland Security. Socorro is mourning their beloved leader, rest in peace Joaquina Fabiola Machado. A nation is leaderless, a husband is widowed, and a daughter is motherless.

Machado's funeral was held today in Cardona. The event was televised, for both accessibility and security purposes. While the majority of Socorrans were allowed to express their condolences in person, the majority of non-Socorran New Udonians were advised to remain at home due to the threat posed by the SLF. High-ranking officials both federal and district streamed their condolences. They claimed that if all of the leadership were to travel to the location, it would only be asking for a second attack. One high-profile non-Socorran attended the event in-person, Secretary of State Praskoviya Tatiana Nika.
