The waves are of varying number, so there could literally be a few with a few dozen dogs, and then one big wave of a thousand dogs at once.

if you gave this mission to 6 Russian elite special forces operators, could they do it under these conditions?

I don't know IM. I've never had to mow down waves of viscious dogs with an assault rifle. It doesn't seem like it would be easy though seeing as they're intent on killing and can't be scared off etc.

Oh that's a fairly good callout.
You'd also want to make sure you didn't lay down indiscriminate fire too close to the wall, it wouldn't do any good to have the rising bodies of dogs to meet you. You'd want to leave those living dogs that were already at the foot of the wall alive.

As for the shooting distance in front of you (with the two sides by walls) let's say... 2/3 of the length and width of an average high school gymnasium (where they play basketball)
