If you're under fire in the no-man's land of WW1, you start digging a foxhole even if the ideal time would be when you *aren't* being bombarded, because once you wait for it to be 'time', other situations will need your attention, assuming you survive that long. You could not see under as you floated and it was bad...
Nah matey, if you're afraid of the ocean and of jellyfish that's cool, you couldn't pay me any amount to be covered in tarantulas. I'm more saying the alot of people, maybe even most probably aren't to bothered by the jellyfish.
As for tentacles pulling you down to the deeps, jellyfish won't do that. Giant squids on the other hand...

Infected Mushroom wrote:Please consider the following hypothetical:
A supernatural entity comes up to you and offers you 1 million dollars if you accept and pass the Jellyfish Challenge.
The challenge is that you will undergo a supernatural experience but during the entirety of the thing your mouth cannot open at all and your eyes need to stay open except for blinking.
If you accept, the following things will happen.
You will be sealed and surrounded by a completely transparent magical bubble layer the exact shape and form of your entire body that will attach to you. This "bubble layer" will shield you with protection from all physical contact; whilst surrounded by this you will be able to breathe regardless of your location and actual access to oxygen. It cannot be broken. However, you will feel... quite cold and there is a bit of an unpleasant slippery feel.
Then you will be teleported to a magical underwater world somewhere under the ocean of some unknown plane of existence. Despite being quite deep under the surface, the water around you glows bright and blue so that you can see everything. The magical bubble layer will 100% control your movements and make you travel across this glowing ocean world.
Then you will see them... They all appear somehow.
Literally thousands upon thousands upon thousands of jellyfish. Some of them are tiny, however, many of them are as big or bigger than your entire body. Some of them are as big as buildings and whales... The entire glowing ocean is suddenly filled with these things. They seem to be aware of your presence so some of them may keep away but others may approach you and rub against you with their strange blob-like physiques. All of the jellyfish have different colours and patterns. In some sections of the ocean they may be completely white while in others, it might be more multicoloured (red is very scary though).
As the bubble continues to control where you're going, you will not only swim past and through thousands of jellyfish but also go into and through some of the absolutely giant ones the size of whales. The speed with which you are travelling will also vary greatly; sometimes you will travel at a gentle glide... other times as fast as a roller coster.
Remember that your magical bubble layer keeps you protected from the ocean and from physical contact so in fact you are safe. If the jellyfish touch any part of you its the barrier that they touch so you won't actually feel anything.
This supernatural ride will go on for 1 hour before you are teleported back to the human world. During this entire time, the oceans will glow and you will be moved around at varying speeds and paths across an ocean filled with strange supernatural jellyfish of varying sizes and colors.
Remember... your mouth stays closed and your eyes stay completely open for the whole thing. If you fail, no 1 million dollars. Regardless of whether or not you lost the challenge, once you enter it, you are in for the whole 1 hour.
...
So NSG, if offered this challenge, would you accept?
Remember the following additional factors:
1. You are not in real physical danger, however scary it might look (the bubble is indestructible, or so you are told)
2. If you suffer any lasting psychological harm or trauma, that's unfortunately something that could happen
3. If the supernatural being doesn't like how you do the challenge (ex you try to "cheat" with vision impairment goggles or something while technically "looking"), it might not give you the money; this is quite arbitrary
Is this worth 1 million dollars?
Why or why not?
Would you do it? Why or why not?No. Enough said. I think I'd be permanently traumatised (and not even get the money honestly). This is too scary for me.

you're all alone
in a glowing, blue, strange underwater environment with apparently no end in sight (there's a spaceless, endless, infinite quality to it)
it just stretches out... and all around there are these THINGS
some of them as big as whales while others slightly bigger than you (others are tiny)
its an alien planet so the jellyfish probably look even more strange
they are everywhere (you can see the ones far far far ahead get bigger and bigger as you worry about the ones in your immediate vicinity), and its all literally endless
you won't "touch" any of them but they are going to bump against your protective layer which is very close to you, its more like wearing a "suit" than being protected by a massive bubble
you're definitely going to feel more than just a mere observer
there's nothing above, below, or under you that you can see (no walls or floors)... nothing except blue and jellyfish

Of course I agree. But I would refuse if it were Million spiders. Likewise take away the spideriness and I would agree.
Let's up the bet. You call yourself Supernatural? You can do time travel. Instead of Million modern Dollars, in Queen Victoria's day $USA = 1.5 gram of gold;. I demands 1.5 ton of gold.
Let's up the bet. Instead of Million stingless jelly fish for Million dollars, Zillion stingless jellyfish and I am Auristan, first of his name, King of the Andals and First Men. Protector of the Realm, Defender of the Faith Amen.
