They were so huge, they were able to be alongside the late glam, grunge, post-grunge, EDM, and even early nu metal scenes. They were big in metal. And even madonna respects them

Yeah again, they're metal famous and tbh Madonna was on a declining path around the time of Erotica, rebounded herself with R&B throughout the rest of the 90s and then crashed hard with her dance pop and awful covers through the rest of the 2000s. (Really American Pie Madonna, why cover a classic like that?)

That wasn't even the worst of her Dance hits in the 2000s, Music (Real apt title there) is far worse.

Where do we think Christopher Nolan got his inspiration for The Joker from.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6_PAHbqq-o4
The early 90's was a great great time for music overall.

I spent almost the entire 90s working at a record store. A decade of low pay, free cds and concert tickets, and professional level hanging out.

MTV was actually a decent channel then, I had it on full rotation. Remember The Real World, which is really the precursor to any real life TV.. specifically I remember the series with Puck the skateboarder and a Puerto Rican with AIDS, it was pretty new stuff for its time. Beavis & Butthead was also new. Videos had really come into their own, I remember watching Soundgarden's Black Hole Sun, all the Nirvana stuff.. but also dance music was producing its best stuff.. I mean I couldn't even begin to list the amazing music that came out from 90-95.
..everything seemed underground.
