Hello, I want to take a moment to welcome you all to a new roleplay I am doing within this franchise. This roleplay concerns the daily life of a citizen in a model city built by several mega-corporations. While you thought coming here would make your life better something is happening, and you cannot quite put your finger on it. As the atmosphere of the city turns grim, people start to disappear, and things begin to change just one thing comes to mind. How will you, and those you know to survive this crisis?
When we heard the word from our corporate sponsor last year that we had been approved for entrance...we thought it would have turned out alright for us. We moved into the assigned apartment, had good jobs, plenty of food, money, and good lives. We never thought it would end in just a year. How can they justify doing this to us? There are over 250,000 people in this city...we have rights!
Now the good life is over, and this supposedly model city is rotting from some kind of horrible disease. The corporations took anyone of value out of this place and left everyone else here to die. We are all just some sort of fucking lab rats to these people! Our neighbors are busy either killing each other for food or are getting killed by the military. This apartment block is a warzone...the men in the hazmat gear promised us help would come.
Instead, they fenced us in, and eventually abandoned any pretense of help. I still remember poor Jeanie...they shot her in the face like she was an animal...all she wanted was some medicine for the coughing! They stopped giving food, and water packages two weeks ago, but it took five days to realize why. They essentially got orders to leave us for dead, but we didn't take it lying down. People got angry, and then they formed a mob armed with anything they had. The group got lucky at first and even overran the fence...until the turrets ripped them apart.
About day seven people started boarding in their doors if they had any food, and water left. Groups started forming and carving out territory in the apartment block to raid parts still with plenty of food, and water. The next three days was nothing, but a full-on turf war, and since then anyone who survived has picked up the scraps, and hid. With this addition in the journal, I think most of the apartment complex is dead, dying or too busy looting to care. I might be able to escape...the military seems preoccupied with fighting those things...maybe the hard rain outside my give me a bit of cover as I escape.
Wish me luck.

Day 39,
We....never meant for this to get so far out of control as it has. The situation in the city is beyond help at this point, and my superiors are suggesting evacuation to a ship waiting to take us to the mainland. After we spend several weeks in decontamination of course...while a precaution I have seen every reason to justify such a long time. If this disease ever got out into the mainland U.S it would devastate it within a matter of months. None of us ever anticipated the disease would breach the strict quarantine measures placed on the United States.
That is because it isn't a disease, but a living breathing organism that is corrupting the very nanites we all have. How ironic...in order to prevent the next wave of pandemics, and to adjust humanity to the radiation from the atomic war we have unwittingly doomed ourselves to this fate. The nanites were supposed to ensure humanity could live happy, healthy, and long lives...instead they are now being corrupted by this thing "turning" us into monsters. Of course, the turned aren't monsters...they can think, act, and anticipate actions. They have a civilization of some sorts and are run by a hierarchy. Humanity is slowly being turned, and replaced by an entirely new organism...this is not what we intended at all.
We never meant for this to happen...we were just trying to help rebuild the human race. We never meant to cause a scenario like this to occur...now much of the world is under their control. The United States is next in line if it doesn't find a way to contain the spread fast. We need to just leave...we cannot help these people anymore. The military just needs to obliterate this entire island with one strike, and hope nothing escapes. If anything does escape then it might very well be the end of the human race.

Day 7,
This is Doctor Martin reporting from the office in Arboria...I think we might have an outbreak here in the city. Over the past few days, I have accepted several patients displaying the same symptoms and sent several of them home thinking they initially were just dealing with a really lasting case of the flu. Going over the cases some 64 in total by now I believe that I have made a terrible mistake, and have contacted the CDC in Seattle for instructions on what to do. I have also contacted superiors over at the city hospital and given them the names. Apparently, teams have already gone out to find those they can in order to enact quarantine.
How the hell did this disease even breach our defenses? We enacted nationwide quarantine, and let most of the world die or turn into those things. As far as I know, they don't swim so how the hell did it spread here? We are on an island and should have had the safest spot in case the mainland began to fall. I suppose it is only ironic that the model city is the first in the United States to fall to this damn plague...hopefully its the last place as well.
Teams are already setting up quarantine stations in certain buildings to keep an eye on things. For now, we do not want the public becoming afraid as fear spreads like wildfire. If people are getting together and trying to leave in a chaotic mass then the risk for infection leaving this island becomes far too great. The City government, for now, wants to contain the situation, and evacuate people once they are given the clear. I sure hope this works or else we just all might be screwed.
Doctor Martin,
